knutschen sending well wishes for your dog and a quick resolution to your garage issues. nylene the baby shower sounds lovely. I popped in on both crops this weekend and finished some cards. I made this layout Friday using my photos from Ali Edwards Pieces of Us challenge and an app called BeCasso.

Today was dd14's Confirmation. It was a nice Mass - socially distanced, and everyone wore masks (I know they aren't in the picture - the Bishop told her to take it off and smile...she wasn't about to tell him no) knutschen - I hope you can get the garage door resolved - how frustrating. Prayers for Phoebe - I hope all goes smoothly. nylene - yes Silver is settling in like she's always been here. Glad that the baby shower went well. Looking forward to seeing new-baby pictures! justjac - wow - that's beautiful

Linda , I somehow thought you were still a week away from your DD's special day. I love the photo. Her dress is beautiful, as is she. I love her pretty curls. I'm glad she was instructed to take off the mask. We have a lot of wedding photos with masks. I'm glad you had a lovely day. justjac , your page is amazing. I need to know all about how you did that. I'll leave love in the gallery and hope it gives more info. Such an artsy, beautiful page. ETA: I can't find it in the gallery. Tell us how you did that. knutschen , best wishes with the garage door people. Be confident and don't back down.

I love her curls also and wish she didn't buzz cut one side of them but haircuts aren't my hill to die on. She was happy with the dress - she had picked out the pattern and okayed the fabric. She's pretty picky both about the feel/fit and the style of clothes so I was glad I could make something she liked.

Linda, I gasped at her buzz cutting one side of her curls. I am paying good $ tomorrow to have a perm so I HAVE any curls. I agree it's only hair. My daughter has colored hers blue, pink, purple for the last 3 years. She turned it back to white blond just before her DD's wedding. (mainly for the wedding photos so she didn't stand out more than the couple!) justjac, thanks for posting it. It makes it easier to make large to get a good look. I love it.

I miss it being longer

It's very windy again today. Seems we are getting more wind than usual. But better wind than snow, I guess.
Tomorrow our nephew is driving us to St. George to see DH's brother and SIL. It will be a long trip, 4+ hours each way, but we will stay long enough to have lunch together and then come back home. We have talked about going but I hate the long drive. Having nephew doing the driving will be much better.
I am still working on wedding photos, but I just don't seem to get much time in my scraproom. I have a bunch of birthdays coming up (DH is one of them) so I have a lot of cards to make.

nylene - sorry about the wind. That is a very long drive for a daytrip but I'm sure it'll be nice to see family and easier with someone else driving. No one slept well here for a variety of reasons so we cut the school day short. I'm in the scraproom but working on projcet that doesn't require much creativity. I have a big pile of 8x10 photos of my kids dating back to 1991 and I'm matting them, adding a short description (name, date, place) and popping in page protectors in an album. With 8.5x11 paper, there's no room for anything fancy but this way they'll all be labelled and in chronological order. Then any duplicates (or smaller versions), I'm going to offer up to the kids and then toss what's left.

Happy Wednesday! (I had to think for a moment was day it was) LOL! This week has gone by so fast. Ron and I just are celebrating our 10th greeting card and art business anniversary this week. The actual day we started was April 20, 2011. nylene and Cindy were big cheerleaders for me as well as some family and friends. They gave me such confidence when I was a new and uncertain crafter. (Boy, I still miss scrapincin ) !!! We made a YT video celebrating our accomplishments and would love for you all to stop by and party with us! This is Ron's first FULL appearance on my YT channel. We had fun creating this video and just going down memory lane together. Link Here

Happy Wednesday, Pokeys! I am loving your wedding pages, nylene. Good luck with the birthday cards. I know they will be beautiful and fun, and they will be appreciated! And I hope you have a wonderful visit with family tomorrow. So great that your nephew can drive you, so you don't have to take on the 8 hour round trip! Hope the winds let up and that the roads are clear and you have a safe and joyful trip. Congrats on your business anniversary, kellyr21. I will check out your celbratory video. I think we all miss scrapincin; such a sweet lady. Gotta love an "easy" scrapping project, Linda, for days when you are not quite at your finest fighting form. I loved the photo of your dd at her confirmation. That dress turned out beautifully. And her curls are really pretty--with or without the buzzed side! Yesterday I finished a sample page for LOAD over at ScrapHappy. Can't share it here until third week in May. Today I did a couple of fairly quick pages. One has an 8x8 pic and the other has 3 square pic's and a title block, so not alot of real estate left over, and I kept both pages pretty simple. Watched the first of Shimelle's Half n Half class videos today. I pulled out a couple of papers to use, but not sure which photo I will go with. Tomorrow I need to finish getting my tax stuff together. If dh has his done by end of day tomorrow, I will be dropping off our info at the accountant's on Friday. Not as excited about that as the chance to drop in at the LSS and pick up the pile of goodies they have tucked in behind the counter for me. Crafting with My Gnomies... School Life... A couple of kits... Hoping that the Photo Play Mask stamp and die set will be in by then. If it is, I will use it to scrap the photo of me getting my first Covid shot, and I can do that with the ideas I have from Shimelle's class. Will prob swing by the post office in town on my way b/c my Hero Arts kit is supposed to be in my mail box right now. So lots to play with this weekend!

congratulations on your business anniversary! That's awesome! kellyr21grammadee - you've been busy. I hope your goodies were all there and waiting for you! I need to get our taxes done - this weekend I think. I made a good dent in the 8x10/professional pictures pile yesterday - 17 pages done. Hopefully I can get some more done today.

kellyr21 - thank you - yes I made her dress, she was so happy with it (of course, I could see the bits that I would do differently next time). (((Hugs)))) Take it easy. Still working on dealing with the piles of professional photos (atiung back to 1991 when my oldest was born - the older ones are a project for another day). I found another pile of them and got them sorted and did 11 pages for the album. I have a huge stack of duplicates so I sorted into 4 piles - one for each kid and one with all the leftovers that they can take from or I'll toss. School went really smoothly today for DD and we were done by 4 and got everything done (we didn't start until just before noon). Hopefully tomorrow will go as smoothly - we've had a few rough days lately.

Good morning Lovelies!!! Linda - Your dd looked beautiful and her dress was so pretty! You did a great job on it. Kelly - Congrats on your business anniversary! 10 years is a long time, but it's awesome that you are still dreaming new dreams for the business. Nylene - I hope you had a nice visit with your brother and SIL! I'm excited to be going to a crop this weekend. One of my friends owns a small retreat house, so a handful of us are going to be there for the weekend. It's nice to be able to do a few things that feel more normal since we've gotten vaccinated. I haven't scrapped in a couple of months, I've had no mojo. I think working too many hours has left me a little depleted. This pandemic has been a real challenge for the nonprofit that I lead and we are working our way through a merger...it's all been a bit exhausting, but I'm sure it will calm down a bit over the coming months. I hope you all are having a good week. I guess I should get my day going.

shinyhappytina - thank you. Have a wonderful time at your crop! grammadee - hopefully the LSS made up for the tax office. I need to get my taxes done but I have to do them myself - no accountant. Cleaned the house this morning while DH was at work. Now working at my scrap table while listening to the not so dulcet sounds of a cat in heat. Apparently Silver has made it into her senior years without getting spayed. I'm calling the vet first thing Monday morning to make an appointment to change that.

kellyr21 , I finally got time to sit and watch your new video. It had just started when DH came in and sat down next to me. We loved it. DH wondered how you got Ron to participate. I told him that was the 2nd one with Ron. I was touched that you included me in the ending tribute. You have inspired me so much and I love your art and your videos. Your Friendship painting hangs right next to my calendar in my scraproom. I love being able to see it every time I walk in. You are such a talented artist! Thank you! shinyhappytina , your retreat sounds like such fun. I really miss getting together with a group to scrap. We hope to start Card Club again soon. There are a couple who may be anti-vaxers. That might be the only hold up. How I miss them. Linda , I am so sorry about Silver being in heat. I hope you can take care of that on Monday. Your poor ears! Our trip was a bit discouraging. We found that DH's brother is not at all well. He could hardly walk and can't get out of a chair. They have a woman who comes in twice a day and takes care of them, the house, and the meals. She is a gem! His wife has dementia but is healthy, and very spry. Her parents lived to over 100 and she may too. They will both be 84 next month. I'm glad we had this visit. It may be the last we get. The trip was long, but I'm glad we did it. grammadee , I hope you were pleased with all the stash you picked up at the LSS. We should have had you post a video so we could enjoy it too. What are some of your favorite new items? I finished all the wedding pages. I won't post them all, but may post one more. I'm between projects right now so don't have much to work on while chatting Online, but I still plan to hop on in a few minutes. I have missed it. Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Nylene - I love your wedding LO's. Ashley looked beautiful and your white diecuts are perfect on these pages!
I'm sorry that Steve's brother is not well. It's really good that you got to make the trip to see him.
I'm back from the crop. We had a really nice couple of days. We ate yummy food, did a little shopping at a cute plant boutique and made quite a few pages. It was nice. I came home late last night so I could be here for church this morning.
I hope you all have a great day!

I'm sorry I haven't been chatting. There's a term floating around at work when people ask "how are you"? We all reply "languishing". It seems to describe it...we're fine...but not thriving, not chatty, not perky. I'm so over lockdown and changes at the hospital and people in ICU being brought in from the hot-spots. Ugh. But it was SO nice to see gramma and nylene last night at the crop that it reminds me to make an effort to be present! Especially when I remember to be grateful for all I have in my life. It all comes down to what parents say to their kids to get them to eat: there are starving kids in Africa you know. Early lessons in "be grateful for what ya' got". nylene, I adore the simple elegance of your wedding pages. Those die cuts carry the whole story. The colours are graceful and refined. I'm so sorry your BIL is so unwell. It must be very hard to wrap your head around seeing someone who is well in your memories suddenly become frail. Glad you got up to see him, although that must have been a long day! kellyr21, Middle of the night sounds about right for churning minds full of memories. Playing with new supplies is always a great way to get creative juices moving! grammadee, I sat down to do our taxes last weekend and we cannot find DHs T4!!! ARGH! He didn't do anything to rectify this during the week, so here I am this weekend again unable to finish. I am watching the "half and half" trend, and think I will try it out on a page myself. Hope you find the class energizing! Although you really don't need help in the mojo department most months Linda - love the confirmation picture! My DD has threatened to shave half her head many times - not right now (because of dance) but in her plans for when she is in university. But she ALWAYS changes her mind (LOL, even in her plans she waffles) because she knows what a pain it would be to grow out again. It's not a battle I fight with my kids either. Hence, I have one boy with a bun and another with a lumberjack beard. Both of which have always been a "yuck" to me, but whatever, I still love them shinyhappytina - glad you could get away! It's hard to find scrappy mojo when work is so daunting and life encroaching. Then, it's even harder because you've been away from it so the process feels awkward and unfamiliar! Glad you had a good weekend and I hope it put a bit more gas in your tank for the next few weeks. I have a long list in front of me - mainly cleaning because I let that slide this week. And in the scrap room I have a retirement book project for a co-worker. I was handed the book Friday and asked if I could "pretty it up". It was started by a coworker, and people have written in it, and there are items GLUESTICKED on the pages - like rough cut photocopies of photos, rough cut well-wishes that are printed out on copy paper. Things that are really hard to peel out and mat, or even re-trim edges so they are square! I did think of ripping the pages out (it's a spiral bound sketch book) and putting them into another album in a more aesthetically pleasing way. However, I feel like the girl who arranged/started this would be offended. A step-too-far. She's a sensitive type. I think I have to keep things in the original book. Some pages I will tear out, but I'll put the items onto another page of the album (there are lots of extra pages thank goodness!)

Happy Sunday, Pokeys! Glad you got to visit with him, but so sorry about your dbil, nylene. We have lost so much contact over this past 16 months. People grow old and decline. Kids grow up and grow away from us as they develop new skills and new interests while out of our sight. And thankfully WE still have our faculties--or most of them LOL--but I really feel for the people who are locked into nursing homes/seniors' lodges and have had next to no contact with family or friends over all this time. Sorry you are "languishing", kitbop. Hang in there. Don't kill your son. (although of all the energizers out there, anger seems to work the most quickly and effectively ) Last year, dh lost ALL his paperwork for his taxes. I contacted all of the sources, and collected all of the documents, only to find that our accountant could access them ALL on line G#$?##@*!!! But with his social insurance number, YOU may be able to access your ds's T-4 that way. The CRA will have that information anyway b/c it has been submitted when the T4 was sent to him. Glad your crop was so much fun, shinyhappytina. Would love to see your pages. Poor Silver. And poor YOU, Linda, having to listen to her! Wonder how many batches of kittens that mama has had in that neighbourhood over the years? Bet your dd is wishing she had already been pregnant when she found her so there would be cute little kittens for her to love. A couple of months ago we were approached to see if we wanted to take in an unfixed adult female dog from a farmer who was moving to town. Our male is also unnutered, and I have to admit that when I investigate the cost of spaying that I thought, "Puppies wouldn't be so bad..." Anyway, someone else took her in, so the decision was not up to me. Glad some of you got to chat yesterday evening on the virtual crop. My plan was to join in today's for a couple of hours, but it looks like the times won't work as well for me as they usually do on Sundays. Hopefully the time will work better with Church service schedules, but by noon I am usually running out of creative steam and moving on. TBH my mojo is flagging right now. I have alot of things I WANT to do, and things I NEED to do, new products and techniques I want to play with, but need to settle on Just. One. Thing. and then Just. Do. It. Shimelle's classes are fun and informative, but intimidating too. Got me THINKING about scrapping instead of just DOING it. I have a page ready to start but find myself second guessing the colour combo. Also a bit overwhelmed with my new supplies. Want to try them all at once. Okay, time to stop whining, turn off my left nitpicky brain, and turn the RIGHT side loose to play with paper...

just popping in wih sad update. Silver started seizing late last night, we took her to the nearest emergency vet (about an hour) but she died shortly after we got there. The vet said probably a stroke or a brain tumour. D14 isn't awake yet so she doesn't know - she knew we were taking her to the vet and it didn't look good but she was asleep when we got home just before 4am (DD20 waited up for us). Not looking forwward to that conversation...

linda, I am sorry to hear about your loss of your fur baby Silver. I Phoebe has her surgery this Thursday. I want to give her a bath to make her a little cleaner. I wish I could do it the day before but I will be working. I get off Thursday morning and have to take her. kellyr21, She acts like nothing is wrong. I hope that is a good sign that everything will be okay and I caught this early. I took Phoebe to the park today and hung out on a blanket. I have been trying to get back into readying again and was reading my book and enjoying the wonderful weather. My garage door issue isn’t resolved. I did find out the company that Lowe’s has contracted out isn’t EPA certified. They can’t test for lead or remove the door if it has lead. I at least found all this out but was so exhausted to call the store when I got off work on Friday morning. I will peruse what to do about this hopefully this week. I at least have a manager to contact which said they would renegotiate my contract if the company won’t remove it. Here is a photo of Phoebe from our adventure at the park. Hooray! The baby is here. He shares his birthday with DH and our first grandson and he is our first great-grandson. What a special day! No name yet, but he is.......................A REDHEAD! knutschen , I hope things go well with Phoebe's surgery. That photo of her is so sweet. I hope everything comes together for the garage door. It sounds like you know all the things to try. I'm sorry you are so busy at work. I hope you are getting some rest when you can. Take care of yourself. It's nice to see you checking in. kitbop , I thought you seemed a little more quiet on the Crop Saturday. I hope that things slow down at work. I think our hospitals are less crazy with all the immunizations being given. Hang in there. Your mojo will come back when you aren't so locked down and stressed. They are starting our in-person Church services next week. They called to tell me that Primary would start too. I don't feel comfortable being crowded in a room of children yet. I guess they will give me a few weeks to get used to it before I come back. grammadee , I don't know how you keep going. You are so artistic and try so many new methods and ideas. I love looking at yours but am not brave enough to do them. I was moving some albums downstairs to have more room in my scraproom. I looked at some layouts I love, and they are so simple. I have decided I am trying too hard to do what others are doing, and I don't like my layouts any better than my old ones. I have decided to continue simplicity for a while and get caught up on my stack of photos. Have a wonderful week, everyone!
