This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

Welcome to April Pokey Peas. I hope you each find some good scrapping time to play with paper and glue. I will miss having the grandchildren come play April Fool's Tricks on us, but there is always next year.
Only ten days til our DGD Kayla's wedding. As slow as things seem for the pandemic, the months seem to sail by.
I think my tooth area is healing. It's still very sore, but better each day. I have had such fatigue that I can't understand. I am on antibiotics so I don't think there is infection, but I feel like I could sleep day and night. I hope to be more active on this site this month.

Happy Thursday! It is a warm, hazy day but nice. I took my first walk of the day and enjoyed. I forgot to tell you all that I met a new friend on my walk. It is a tiny lizard!!!! LOL! I noticed it a month or so ago. I would see some rustling of the shrubs when I walked by. Then, I started to see the little guy on the sidewalk and then it was run back to the shrubs when I got closer. But the last couple of weeks, it would be sitting out on the sidewalk and not run when I walked close. I got a picture of it one day. But yesterday and today I haven't seen it so many it found another home. I don't like any bugs, reptiles or other pest but since this guy was small and sort of friendly, I didn't mind. My explosion box is coming along. I think I am almost finished. I took pictures at Home Depo last weekend that I will add to the box. So, I will continue to work on it today and maybe do a video about it tomorrow. I have enjoyed the virtual classes I have taken this week. Last night was a drawing/sketch class and today my favorite was Easter basket centerpiece. I blogged about these classes if you are interested in seeing some pictures and the class websites. Link Herenylene- Thanks for our new thread! I am so glad you are feeling better with your tooth. My dh's is still sore, too so it takes some time. I hope you can rest and take it easy. It's been a exhausting time for all of us! Hugs! Waving hi to you gals and have a good rest of your day!

Good Morning and Happy Easter if you celebrate! nylene so glad to hear your tooth is getting better for real! It feels like April is already flying by and this year has gone so fast. I'll be so happy when you can see the grands again. And your card club. awww love that you have a new buddy kellyr21, that's so cute! I hope he finds his way back to your path. The last 4 days have been a blur! I got my first shot on Wednesday, and got the sore arm, and was feeling a little achy by the time I got off work Wednesday evening. I decided to take Thursday off. I felt fine Thursday, but I also needed the mental break from work so I took the day off anyway. The weather was beautiful and I decided it was the best day to go car shopping lol. I got a new car, a 2019 Ford Escape. That took all of Thursday to get done. Saturday was spent with all the kids, selling them my old car, coloring eggs and just spending time together. Rudy slept over since his dad had a virtual show. It was their first show since last March and they were excited to play again. We got to watch over You Tube which was fun. Now I'm trying to get caught up here on the board lol. I think I've learned not to jinx myself about work. Everytime I say I think I've found a rhythm, it gets busier lol. I'm still mulling over getting a manual die cutter. I don't NEED it, but I WANT it lol. I think I'll make that my Easter/Mother's Day/early bday gift lol. I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm going to get out and get some photos of Spring today and enjoy this nice weather.

Hope everyone had a great Easter Sunday. And that you had great family time durin Passover, mslizLooks like kitbop has had a wonderful scrappy day. Sorry all your planned excitement was shut down. Did the Easter bunny come to your home, joyfulnana? I have been receiving pic’s of the dgk’s Easter adventures. Relaxing sounds like a wonderful way to spend a holiday Sunday, kellyr21. Cute to hear about your little walking path friend. I have been in hospital since Friday morning. Attack started Thursday afternoon. Had an ng tube in until this afternoon. Had a clear fluid supper. Probably hear until at least Tuesday. They will want me tolerating solid foods. Just feeling super tired and blah this evening. My ds came to the farm as planned yesterday to stay the night. He came in to see me a couple of times, but is on his way to the airport to fly home for his 6 day break between shifts.

I have been in hospital since Friday morning. Attack started Thursday afternoon. Had an ng tube in until this afternoon. Oh NO! You are someone I deal with daily, I know just what you look like And now that it's an acute flare, they "want to let the inflammation settle down and remove it then" BUT...you've been settled down and WAITING for them to take the darn thing out!!! Don't you just want to strangle somebody??? NG tubes drive people nuts Hugs to you. Keep walking and do your deep breathing - lying down, raise your arms up onto your pillow and take a deep breath, it really helps get a good breath in. People end up with really sticky lungs because the gallbladder sits under the diaphragm and that part of the lungs gets "stagnant". Say "hi" to your physiotherapist if they come to visit and tell them you've been told already FEEL BETTER QUICK!!!

Oh grammadee! I'm sorry you are in the hospital over the holiday! Are they going to get a surgery scheduled for you soon? I had people in and out all weekend. Now I need days off to recover lol! It felt like a lot after not really seeing anyone for a year. The Easter Bunny did visit my house. And Rudy said he wished the Easter Bunny came to his dad's too. Which he did of course lol. This might be the last year he believes. Hopefully we get a couple more though. kellyr21 your day sounds like it was wonderful!

grammadee - ((((Hugs))) and prayers. I'm so sorry that you've been in the hospital over the holidays and I hope that you'll be on the mend very soon joyfulnana - Happy Easter - sounds like Rudy was a lucky kid with EB at two houses! kellyr21 - Happy Easter!! joyfulnana - you are always so busy! Hope you had a great Easter! Busy weekend here as well. DH had Friday off so we ran errands and did some projects at home. Saturday the girls went horseback riding and then DH and I loaded up a trailer load/car load from the shed at the old house and brought it over here and then we all coloured eggs after dinner. Sunday - online Mass, cinnamon rolls for breakfast (and Easter candy), lots of projects around the house accomplished, lamb roast dinner (DD20 made a lovely trifle for dessert). I'm tired and sore this morning but we got a lot accomplished. No scrapping though.

Feeling a bit more like me this morning. Had some soft food for breakfast, and half a cup of horrible coffee. Thanks, kitbop for the PT advice. While tied to the wall with the ng tube, I made sure I elevated and lowered the head and foot of the bed often, did my physio leg stretches, and raised my arms. Less worried about lungs, than mobility. Since the tube came out I have done some walking in the hallways. Still feeling pretty out of shape, though. Doesn’t take long...

Whoa!!! I knew something was up with you. I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope you are back in fighting form soon. I miss my sparring partner!! Are they discussing surgery? Best think I ever did was have my gall bladder out. The dietary "issues" are nothing compared to what I had before.
Rest my friend.

grammadee, I am so sorry to hear about your attack again! You were doing so well for so long. This ought to tell those doctors that this is a very necessary surgery. You will feel so much better afterward! I am sending virtual hugs. I'm sure you are still working up layouts in your head as you lie there. kitbop, how nice of you to give grammadee your best physiotherapy advice to get her up and around again soon. We are always glad to have you around to give good advice to the Pokeys. kellyr21, I absolutely love lizards. I hope you little friend finds you again, but doesn't get too close if you prefer that. We don't have lizards here in the city but my son always managed to sneak one home from Scout Camps. They are so cute. Yesterday the Calif. grands called to say they had been chasing a couple around their gardens all day. I don't think they wanted to catch it, just to chase and play with it. I hope your Easter Sunday was a sweet one, knowing you will see your mother again. Sweet hugs. joyfulnana, your Easter sounds fabulous. Having family around, enjoying Rudy, coloring eggs. It almost seems like things are getting back to normal. So glad you had a great time and that you also got your vaccine last week. Hooray! gramma, I have missed visiting with you at the Online crops. I just haven't been able to get on lately. I have thought about you as I work on wedding pages. I have cut some white floral outlines and thought I might fill them with color like you did, but Ashley likes them just white against the blue background. I'm still debating. How was your Easter? Neisey, it's nice to see your happy face pop up in this thread. I have really missed chatting online. Have you been on lately. Linda, one of these times we will connect on the Online crops. I hope you are enjoying them. We had a nice warm Easter Sunday here, but everything I prepared for Dinner fizzled. I have never had so many failures in one meal. Oh, well, it was just the 2 of us who had to suffer. LOL

Happy Monday! We did relax and enjoy our day. I woke up to a earthquake today! It was minor but still a little nerve raking. We are all ok. I enjoyed the pea crop on Saturday with mom and the gals. I hope to join in more often. I got my explosion box almost finished while I was on the call. I just want to find some pretty finishes for it. grammadee- I was thinking about you on Saturday on the chat and missed seeing you. Now we know why. Hugs to ya and hope you are feeling better. Take one day at a time and know we are thinking and praying for you, dear friend! Hang in there and hope to see you back on your feet soon. nylene- I haven't seen my lizard pal lately so I guess it has moved on. LOL! Our Easter meal was a thumbs down, too. I ordered the turkey dinners which are normally good but this time were dry and blah! So maybe next time they will have their act together. Waving hi to all of you peas and have a good evening!

nylene - I haven't managed to get back onto an online crop - our weekends are always so busy but I'll keep trying. I'm sorry about your Easter dinner - always disappointing when you put in time and effort and it doesn't work out. kellyr21 - sorry about your Easter dinner as well. Sounds like your explosion box is almost ready to show off! Busy here working my way through totes still - today I'm washing all the wooden trains before we store them in the attic. Planted some potatoes in grow bags - I've never tried potato growing before but a friend gave me some extras from her planting so...worth a try. My beans, cucumber, lettuce, and marigold seedlings are coming along nicely. The impatiens, onions, and lavender haven't sprouted yet - not sure if they will. And the garlic dd20 planted seems to be coming along nicely as are the green onions DD14 is regrowing. I don't have much of a green thumb but every few years, I try again. Homeschooling is still coming along okay. We're going to take next week off as a spring break -no plans for adventure but I'm sure we'll both enjoy the time off.

Oh no nylene! I'm sorry your dinner didn't turn out. For me cooking is like crafting, if I don't cook a real meal for awhile, my first effort doesn't work out so well lol. It did feel like things were getting back to normal Sunday, I think the warmer pretty days also helps with having hope for the end of the pandemic. Linda I am not busy at all compared to you! Seeing what you and grammadee are up to (usually grammadee) amazes and exhausts me lol. I hope you'll be able to pop in again on a crop soon. Rudy is a very lucky kid. He gets holidays from 5 households, and I'm sure he'll figure out soon the EB doesn't leave him all that stuff lol. It takes the pressure off of me to make sure I do something spectacular though lol. His mom's family takes care of spectacular, and I'm the low key gramma lol. kitbop thanks for giving your expert advice to grammadee. We need our leader!! grammadee I hope they get you scheduled for surgery soon. You've been dealing with this for quite a long time now. gramma I had been wondering about you, it's good to see you pop in! I've only missed one weekend of crops and it feels like I haven't "seen" you all in forever! My mojo still needs a kick, and no Rudy this weekend so I'll definitely be around this weekend. I ordered the Spellbinders Platinum 6 as my combo gift. It shipped already. But I didn't order a bundle that included dies. I ordered basic shapes from aliexpress....so now I'll have the machine but no dies for a couple months. Oh well, more time to love my cricut lol.

today I'm washing all the wooden trains before we store them in the attic. Our wooden trains are bashed to heck. Paint is peeling (middle DS liked playing with them in water...). Tracks are broken and have plasticene stuck to them (creative scenery...) Those were well. loved. trains. Worth every penny. They are in a box under our stairs. I wouldn't be able to part with them from a sentimental perspective let alone something I want to be able to get out later for visiting kids. kellyr21 - I'm so sorry your turkey was dry nylene - At least all the fizzles happened in one meal? Get them out of your system? Our dinner was also marred. Everything turned out PERFECTLY and we got to eat outside! But my Dad has been having issues eating solid beef (steak/roast) and this was no exception. He doesn't chew well, and it gets stuck in his esophagus. So after the first bite he was choking and gurgling up a ton of mucus and it's just disgusting for us and awful for him... It's a scene out of a Saturday night live, with the teenagers grossed out, food getting cold, man foaming at the mouth... except it's not really fun. grammadee, are you home yet? Thinking of you!!

joyfulnana - sounds like Rudy is indeed a very lucky kid! I think low-key nana is a good spot joblackford - our trains aren't in bad shape despite going through three kids and some of them being nearly 30 years old. I'm hoping (but not expecting) grandchildren one day so we're storing them in the attic just in case I'm sorry about your dinner. My MIL had a similar issue and there were several meals I just couldn't face making again for some years afterwards ((((Hugs))) grammadee - hope you're feeling much better. you're in my prayers no fun plans for today - homeschooling, housework, yardwork, finishing up the wooden trains and starting the big 'organise the holiday totes' project, and maybe get another car load from the old house. We're about 5/8 through the shed

Hello Pokeys. I am still in hospital. MY dr would have sent me home today. He knows I can ease myself back into eating. But the locum wants to make sure I tolerate full diet, so keeping me until at least tomorrow.
Should have packed a scrappy GO bag dh. Could have brought me.
Entertaining myself shopping on line. So far I have purchased the MyHero monthly kit—hey, it has rotating stencils!—and a bunch of sale stuff from Elizabeth Crafts LOL

Seemed to work to do a little shopping if I did LOTS of clicking and reopening. But since I had so much time, that worked. Prob saved me some money. BUT I AM HOME!!! Hope to join the virtual to chat Saturday or Sunday.

Happy Wednesday! It is a lovely day here. Nice, sunny weather. Waving hi to you all and wishing you well. I was so happy to film my new video yesterday. I haven't done a video in several weeks so it felt good to return to this fun. My explosion box turned out so pretty. Can't wait for you all to see it. grammadee- So happy for you and hope you can rest well and recover at your own pace. That's what you would tell me, right?! nylene- Hope you are feeling better, too! I wish us Peas could visit you and grammadee to give you both a hug and keep ya company.

Thanks everyone for all the love! I hope to get caught up on YOUR news, and the other places around the board I like to keep up to date with.
Spent the afternoon reclined in my OWN bed (heaven!) and caught up on a bunch of TV shows. Working on the laundry. Well my appliances are. I just have to move stuff around periodically. Paid my cc bill, and a little extra in case my boredom buying from the hospital has not yet been put through to Visa yet.
Made an appointment with the accountant to take in our tax info in a couple of weeks. And CALLED MY SURGEON. Told my story to her clerk, and hope to hear back from them soon as to where I am in their queue. She told me to be sure to call back if I hadn't heard from them by the end of next week.
I had hoped to stay home all day tomorrow, but MY doctor wants to see me and won't be in the office on Friday, so I have an appointment with him for 11:00AM tomorrow. Just as well. There is another bill I need to pay at the credit union, and there were messages on the phone that there are packages at the Purolator drop off place.
