This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

I am looking forward to warmer weather and flowers this month. There is a lot going on for iNSD on 2Peas. There will be lots of online Crops. If you haven't hopped on one, try it out. It's so nice to see each other in person...well, in video chat. If you aren't comfortable on the Video chat, come here and chat with the Pokeys online.

Thank you nylene for setting this up every month. Our weekend plans got changed around a bit - the girls were supposed to ride early this morning and DD20 was supposed to go to the Springs for a (socially distanced, masked) party and then DH was taking both of them to the city all day tomorrow. But DD20 woke me up at 4am to tell me she had been up since 1am with what she was pretty sure was another kidney stone. Poor girl - she's sleeping now thankfully. So just DD14 went riding and DH took her into the city today. So not sure if I'll have tomorrow available for scrapping or just today.

Good morning, Pokeys. Happy May Day and Happy iNSD! Hoping everyone gets some crafty time in today. I managed to finish a couple of pages I had collected supplies for yesterday, and do a quick 6x8 page for LOAD, but I think I am done scrapping for the day. May is usually a busy month here on the farm. It will soon be Operation Garden around here. Dh picked up seed potatoes in town yesterday. Not planting today, but dh is getting everything set up, and I am on call for help when needed. Hoping to check out some of the fun on line in between helping. Thanks, nylene for setting this up. It is always wonderful to share stories here and read everyone else's. I hope it is okay to share here that gramma is in the hospital this weekend, awaiting hernia surgery on Monday. She posted this in the team sign up thread yesterday. I let msliz and the virtual crop ladies know when I dropped in for a few minutes this morning. I am going to PM her when I finish this post.

Thanks, grammadee , for the information about gramma . msliz just told me about her on the online crop. I have a card for her hanging on the mailbox waiting for the postman. If you read this, gramma , just know that we are all concerned for you and pray that everything will go well for the surgery. Big hugs! Linda, hoping that your DD can pass the kidney stone without more pain. Hugs and prayers for her too.

Hello! Happy May! I don’t know if any of you remember me from long ago. I’m trying to get back into scrapbooking. I’m hoping being part of a group again will get me going and keep me going.
I hope you’re all doing well! Jen

scrapperjen1, I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering if you are still scrapping! It's sooo nice to see your smiling face pop up. Please join in share with us. We have some new Pokeys and some who have been here the whole time. I know you will get a lot of ideas and encouragement from the Peas.

Welcome, scrapperjen1. Glad you are finding your way back to scrapping. And that you found your way back to the Pokeys! Let us know what you need to keep you going and we will try to provide it. Lots going on with the iNSD threads this weekend on the General Scrapbooking board. And the Gallery has lots of inspiration right now. If you like virtual get togethers, those have been going on all weekend, and will be continuing tomorrow.

Good Morning and Happy May! This maybe a thread for pokey scrappers, but it is NOT a pokey thread! I had to go back to April and catch up with everyone. nylene congrats on the new DGS!! That is amazing they all share a birthday, and so so special! Your wedding pages are absolutely gorgeous! gramma I'm so sorry to hear you are in the hospital. I had no idea until I asked at the crop last night. I hope surgery goes well and you are back to yourself soon. April was just not the best month for me. And I have also felt "languishing" is exactly what's up. I'm hoping to keep a little more connected this month. I missed out on so much! My scrappy plans for yesterday were derailed by a cancelled grocery order LOL. I then had to spend time yesterday doing my own shopping for today's dinner. As well as the couple hours I had already agreed to keep an eye on Rudy. And he started my day at 7:30 I gave him my old iphone to put some games on. But he has to have my thumbprint to install anything new. He had asked twice before 7 if it was too early to come over - so he could borrow my thumb! LOL So he was in and out a lot. But it's all good. It was really good for me to be hosting a crop to force me to scrap and try to get back to the things I love. I'm completely over this RV craze though. LOL Great to see old/new to me faces scrapperjen1!

Hi scrapperjen1 - I'm certainly new to the group - but I've been a pea a looooooong time! Glad you are trying to make your way back into the hobby. Did you try out any new hobbies in between? Thanks nylene for setting up the group each month! Linda - sorry your DD is hurting, ouch. Fingers crossed she feels better today. @grammaee - I have to get to the garden centre for seeds/plants, andd get outside with DS to get the soil turned/sifted (damn cats). I have a couple of days off work now, and that's the plan. It's an ealier start an I want to take advantage! I enjoyed joining a couple of sessions briefly yesterday and got a layout completed, yay! Our birthday celebrations were low key and without a present (gave it to him earlier in the week when he actually needed to use them!) but delicious. gramma - we are all thinking of you and, naturally, talking about you behind your back. All bad stuff, you can imagine But seriously, GET BETTER QUICKLY!!!

Linda, how is your DD feeling today? Hope she is doing better. I thought I would get back on the Online Chat again today, but life got in the way. I really enjoy chatting with the Peas, especially the Pokey Peas! grammadee, thanks for setting up so many fun things for this site. What would we ever do without you? I am hoping that gramma is doing well and that the surgery goes well. We need her comic relief around here. Hugs to you gramma!

Good morning Lovelies!
Thanks for having me in the online crop yesterday. It was really nice to get to meet you and to scrap along and I got a couple of pages done, which was happy!
One of my friends had a surprise 50th party yesterday. It was 90's themed, so we had fun dressing up for it a bit and it was nice to see everyone. There were probably 30 of us there, but we all work together and have been vaccinated. It was so nice to be with people without everyone being masked up...it's crazy how such a normal thing has become not normal. It felt really odd not to see the masks, but it was fun.
I hope you all have a really nice Monday!

It was so nice seeing so many of you this weekend. I got quite a bit of scrapping done. Layout a Day is underway, so I will be sharing quite a few pages.
I narrowly missed having to self isolate for two weeks. My friend and I both have our first shots (but Canada is delaying second shots up to 4 months due to shortages of vaccines) and we walk together outside weekday mornings. We've been a bit slack about staying 6 feet apart as we walk. Her boss tested positive, so she had to isolate, and she tested negative at first but then positive. Fortunately, I didn't see her in the 48 hours prior to her symptoms so I am supposed to be okay. It shook me up a bit and made me realize that I need to remain careful.

Happy Monday! I had a nice weekend and enjoyed the Friday night chat with the Peas. I posted a new art video featuring "Field of Rest." I just love this art and it's message of self care and rest. Also, since May is Mental Health Awareness Month I dedicated this video to the cause. I hope you all will check it out and share it with your family and friends who might need to be encouraged. Link HereField of Rest Art Video by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr gramma - Sending you my prayers and hope you will be getting back on your feet soon. Hang in there! scrapperjen1 - So happy to see ya back with us!!! I hope you have fun getting back into scrapping. Hugs and see ya around! justjac - Oh, that was a close call! I am so glad you are ok and hope the others recover soon. nylene - How are the newlyweds? Again, your scrapbook pages about the wedding were so GORGEOUS!

kellyr21 , thanks for sharing your video. That is one of my favorites of your paintings. Lots of good advice in the video and I appreciate your giving me permission to rest! Hugs. gramma , I hope your surgery is over and that you are doing well. We look forward to hearing from you when you are up to it. shinyhappytina , the surprise b-day party sounds like fun. I'm glad you could get together maskless and really enjoy one another. justjac , I am so glad you avoided the virus. It's such a sneaky little thing. No wonder it spreads so quickly. How is your friend who caught it? kitbop , you have done some gorgeous pages and cards this month. I will catch them in the gallery in the next few days. You have such an artist's eye. I love your style. grammadee , are you recuperating from the iNSD, or are you busy, busy, busy. I am loving your Jack layouts. We bought bedding plants and got them in today. I told DH that I was glad I didn't have the acreage you have. Our little garden space was enough to wear us out. joyfulnana , I had to giggle at Rudy needing to borrow your finger to open the phone. I'm sorry you have been so busy and haven't had the time to enjoy much scrapping. I wish I had managed to get into the online crop you hosted. Seems like I haven't seen you for ages. Take care of yourself! Linda , I just went through the sharing thread quickly, but was so impressed with your Hawaii photos. I have never scrapped our trip because I want them to be special and I don't know how to do them. Thanks for some ideas for 8.5x11. Have a great week, everyone.

Happy Wednesday, Pokeys! Glad to hear you are HOME, gramma. Please look after yourself so that you heal completely. Hoping that your friend and family are all well after the covid scare, justjac. And that the shot has protected you from picking up anything serious. Outdoor gatherings have been reduced from ten to five people in Alberta, all schools are back to on line, and they have shut down the outdoor patios for dining rooms/bars while the varients are spiking with younger people. Since the vaccines have been rolled out from oldest to youngest, this is the group that is not protected and more likely to be hanging out together, so a real virus playground. The garden has been cultivated and fertilized and rows made. Hoping to plant potatoes by the end of the week. Spring seemed like it was coming quickly when the snow melted, but the days are far from warm and toasty here. Dd may come out for a day trip outdoor gathering and help with the planting Thursday or Saturday. Still watching the weather forecasts. So far I have been keeping up with LOAD, though not using their prompts unless it really fits my plan for the day. Mailed my mothers' day cards and a couple of Pea bd cards yesterday, but still need to create a couple of bd cards for my niece's girls' May bdays. Friday I have a follow up mamogram and ultrasound in Edmonton. The screening mamo in March picked up some differences from the last one, two years ago. I am hoping this is just the result of my losing 60 pounds over those two years. So for the most part feeling positive (when I am not wanting to go out into the back 40 and just SCREAM) The appointment is at 2:00PM so I can drive myself up and back that same day. Hope that maybe I can stop at Costco to pick up some household necessities before the appointment and then stop at some greenhouses on the way back.

grammadee , I'm sorry for the need for a follow-up appt. I hope the test is clear and there is nothing further that you need to do. Best wishes and hugs. It sounds like you have a busy rest of the week. Do you ever run out of steam? gramma , hope you are feeling well. We look forward to having you back with us again! This is a page I finished yesterday. This big flag flies between two cliffs in the canyon. It is the largest flag ever flown. Each stripe is over 6 feet tall. We walked part way up the trail to get a good photo. We are hoping it will fly again this July. It's an amazing site and can be seen clear across the valley. Big Betsy

nylene - that is an amazing sight - it's so beautiful and nice that you caught how the wind was playing with it! Love your folded stars. I'd comment about your perfect colour choices but...well... you guys are so lucky with your red white and blue!!! I just registered for TWO Crop and Create events for the fall. I can't believe I did it. I have done very few classes in my scrappy life, and have specifically chosen cheap ones I've never done any that included supplies. I'm excited and nervous and now have to wait over 5 months. D'oh! But I did chose the card class to help me in my card making!

Good Morning! justjac I'm glad you avoided getting Covid. What a scare! I feel like I've been letting my guard down over time as well. grammadee sending you good vibes on the mammo! I still need to get my scheduled, but I'll have to wait a bit now. nylene I love those photos of the flag. I've always loved huge flags like that.So majestic to see them blowing in wind. Since I'm fully vaccinated now, I'm going to drive up and see my mom this weekend in person for the first time since Christmas of 2019. Seeing her in hangouts and meets has been a lifesaver during this time. A customer sent me a gift card last week, so I'll take her out to lunch and to do some crafty shopping. She doesn't drive anymore so I'll take her to hit all the craft stores she doesn't get to often. She lives next door to a HL so she can get SOME crafty fix when she needs one lol. I'm beginning to miss scrapping, a good sign the mojo is coming back. I'm not sure there are online crops this weekend, but I'll be trying to jump in if there are. I hope you all are having a great week!

grammadee I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I hope your test goes well. joyfulnana I'm so happy you got to see your Mom! I'm hoping my Mom and I (and my whole family) will have our second shots by July and see each other then. kitbop I signed up for all three Crop & Creates. I was only going to do 2, but FOMO got the best of me (plus during the pandemic I've salted away some money that I can use to pay for them.) nylene your page is beautiful. Did you cut the red border on your Silhouette? I sometimes struggle with delicate cuts like that. Thanks for asking how my friend is doing. She has a cough that is she is treating with cold medication and she is exhausted. She needed a four hour nap to recover after having a shower. Hopefully this is the worst of it and she is on the mend. I signed up for another stained glass class on Saturday (originally with my friend who has COVID and her mom.) I'm still looking forward to doing it. I don't mind going on my own.

justjac, I'm glad your friend is doing okay. I hope the exhaustion will get better as time goes on. I am excited to see what wonderful things you learn to do in your Crop and Create classes. The stained glass class sounds wonderful too. My son made a stained glass project in High School. He had just finished it when another student accidentally knocked into the table and it fell and broke all apart. He must have handled it well because his teacher called us to tell us about the accident and said she was giving him an A+ for the way he reacted and treated the student who bumped the table. But he has never made another one. Wish he would. BTW, I did cut the red border with my Silhouette. If I have a fairly new blade and slow the speed I can usually cut delicate curves. grammadee, I am hoping that your appointment went well today. You have been on my mind. gramma, hope you are feeling well and still getting plenty of rest. joyfulnana, a visit with your mother and lunch together sounds so warm and happy. I'm glad you can do that now. It has been such a long year without family. The HL visit sounds great too. I'm glad your mojo is returning. Sometimes just a new supply or 2 makes me want to scrap, scrap, scrap. Have a great time together. kitbop, I am always loving your cards and making notes to scraplift them. After taking a Crop and Create card class, you will be even more of an expert. I look forward to seeing what you create. Our granddaughter did a walk through college graduation tonight. It was terribly windy but it was quick. She had her husband and new baby with her and her husband carried a sign with a photo of the baby saying "My MOM is smarter than your mom". I think the baby gets to have a field trip to our home on Monday. I can hardly wait to get my hands on him!

Oh I hope you get lots of baby snuggles this weekend, nylene! And I know your mother will LOVE seeing you in person this year, joyfulnana. kitbop, if you turn out any more cards like the ones you did last weekend, you should be TEACHING an on line card class! I really hope your registration goes through and you get to take part in the SCT classes, though. I am looking forward to the scrapbooking and the holiday one. I really should start working on the class I am already enrolled in. Hoping to get at least one half & half page done soon... maybe tomorrow. I now have the stamps and dies I was waiting for... I am home from the city. The appointment went well. The radiologist did not think a second mammogram was required, but had the tech's do a really thorough ultrasound of each breast. They were really conscientious and sent him lots of detailed photos. His opinion was that none of the changes from my earlier scans were concerning. They booked me to come back to them next year instead of the mobile screening van. Because they have a radiologist on site, they can decide immediately after a mammo if there is need for an ultrasound or biopsi.

grammadee - glad it went well and no further concerns! nylene - congratulations to your granddaughter! Enjoy those baby snuggles. Gorgeous layout with awesome photos! justjac - I hope your friend is on the mend. Your stained glass class sounds awesome! joyfulnana - enjoy your visit with your mum kitbop - I hope the Crop and Create events are absolutely awesome for you. That's a long wait though. gramma - I hope you're on the mend. Yesterday my middle kid turned 21. We ordered Chinese takeaway for dinner and I made carrot cake with cream cheese icing and there was ice cream. Today we went into the city to the Natural History Museum and their Butterfly Exhibit. Then had lunch and did some shopping including buying her a tablet for her birthday. I think she's had a good birthday. It's probably her last one at home for a while since she's moving out at Christmas.

Hi ladies! I hope that all of you who are mother's have a wonderful Mother's Day today. My kids and hubby took me out to breakfast at my favorite restaurant yesterday. The kids got me a new book and an eyeshadow palette that I always like when Olivia, my oldest dd, wears. We're going to take lunch to my mil this afternoon and had planned to put out some flowers for her while we are there, but it was raining pretty hard when I got up this morning, so that may not work today. We're going to see my Mom next weekend. We'll be celebrating Mother's Day, Mallory's graduation, my birthday and Ron's birthday when we visit. It will be a multi-purpose trip. Grammadee - It's great news that the radiologist didn't see a problem with your mammogram...those aren't all that fun to get done. Kelly - I absolutely LOVE your Field of Rest painting, it is so beautiful! Nylene - I hope you really enjoy your baby cuddles. Mallory graduated from college yesterday. Given the Covid restrictions, I thought the school did a good job with it. Only two of us were allowed to go see them walk, but I was just happy that they got to do it. I hope your granddaughter's goes well too. Your LO is really pretty too! I've never been to Utah, but it looks like a beautiful place and that flag is seriously huge. Love your LO about it. I hope you all have a really great day!

So glad for the good medical news grammadee! nylene, I hope you get your hands - and camera - on Eddie! I'm sure your Gda's grad was anti-climactic for her after the baby That's *quite* an accomplished year for her! shinyhappytina - Congratulations Mallory!!! We have a gr. 12 grad and a college grad this year... The gr. 12 grad will make sure she gets any and all celebrations coming her way. The college grad skipped his gr. 12 grad despite our encouragement: he has sensory issues and a convocation is his idea of living hell, so we didn't force him. It is supposed to be about him, not us. But the photographer in me was very very sad. Linda - carrot cake is my fave, but nobody else in the entire house likes it. I order it when we go out to eat. Which means, I haven't had carrot cake in a year and a half!!! justjac - how did stained glass go? Have you done it before? If anyone is up for a couple of hours of virtual scrapping today, give a holler! I'm just figuring out how to space out the need-to-do activities (I'm heading to my Dad's apartment now to start the pack up/throw out finalities), the enjoy-the-sunshiney-day activities (starting the garden), and also enjoy some scrapbooking this afternoon or evening. Company would be great - I figure somewhere in the 2-4, and/or 7-10:00 EST ranges? Let me know if you want to scrap along!
