I am happy to report I've finished Dragonbelly. This was the custom color Sunset at the Beach that I picked up at Southern Twist Yarns in Alabama while I was on vacation. You might remember me saying that starting with this trip it is my plan to stop in a LYS every time I travel and make myself a vacation shawl. Very nice. I love the colors in the yarn.

I have never painted with watercolors and always wanted to give it a try (like I need yet another hobby ) Since I had a long weekend, I watched a few YouTube tutorials, got some very basic supplies and gave it a go....I definitely need practice on getting the water/paint ratio correct, but for a first try, I thought I did ok. I love this, and would love to give it a try! Can you recommend a YouTube tutorial?

This 'stress free stripes blanket' is the blanket I'm working on. I'm using Bernat Bundle Up yarn in blue dawn (lighter blue), beluga (darker blue) & marshmallow. I'm doing it in rows: white dark blue white dark blue white light blue white light blue white dark blue white dark blue white light blue and so on... I planned for it to have a grey stripe too, but I hate that one yarn I bought. It keeps coming apart, it's so hard to use. I have a section of it done already (I was too stubborn to pull it all out), so after each set of blues I'm adding one stripe of grey. It's pretty easy to work on while I have something on tv as long as it's not something I have to pay close attention to. I usually have the Red Sox on, or some trashy reality tv. I like how it's coming out. I got the yarn at Michael's, and see online that it's on clearance (of course it is, I like it). I hope I don't need more of it to finish this blanket. The grey is a michael's brand I think. I wish I'd stocked up on the marshmallow Bernat, it's not a super bright white, and I really like it.

RedSquirrelUK I knew that yarn was going to be yummy when knitted up and I was right. 😁 And you are cuter than 27 buttons.

No crafting for me so far this month as I've been busy with doing some decluttering and organizing. This weekend I tackled my craft armoire and ran across these old craft catalogs an old neighbor gave me about 10 years ago. It was so much fun going through it today, so I thought I'd share a few pics. One was a summer 1944 McCall Needlework Knitting Crocheting book, that cost a whole whopping 35¢! Some of the crochet and knitting patterns had the instructions, while others just gave the pattern number. If anyone is interested, I can post pics from the 1948 catalog tomorrow. An ad for Mountain Mist quilt batting, as well as a quilt pattern to honor the Army Air Corp and Navy Aviation. A Singer ad, touting the money that could be saved by remaking old clothes and making new one. Money that could be used to buy war bonds. To see all the services that Singer Sewing Center offered was amazing! I don't think any of them did much of that by the time I was learning to sew in the 70's. Adorable children's clothing to knit/crochet. Fancy a new hat? Just crochet one! My personal favorite is the Matador - Styled with a Snood. I would actually wear that ladies cardigan today. The men's cardigan has a Mr. Rogers feel to it.

I am taking a break from minis and sewing to make butterflies for placing on a casket. My Misters Mum died last week and the funeral will have a non wooden casket and only paper flowers and butterflies on top before the cremation. I dragged out my parchment craft stuff and so far have made half a dozen 3D Pergamano butterflies, many more to make yet. Sad to think it will be the last things I make for her. So here are the above mentioned Butterflies. 20 in total. The funeral is at the end of the month my Mister will be going alone as I cannot travel that distance at the moment. Those butterflies are beautiful!

Thanks all! **GypsyGirl** I love those catalogues! I enjoy making small items for babies, and what's wrong with just whipping up a crocheted hat before bedtime?

jeremysgirl, I just want to play today. It may be just that for me; we will see. I usually take Monday's off because I work Sundays but I have so much work too, I am torn. And **GypsyGirl**, I would love to see more. I LOVE things like that.

@patter my day is going to move slow today. So I think I can work in some crochet. I am waiting approval on my stuff for our grant rollover for the next fiscal year. Until I get approval to move forward, things are very slow. Once I do, there will be no time for crafting or peaing. My busy season is always July-December. **GypsyGirl** those crochet hats in the magazines are amazing. I wish they came with good instructions. I would totally give them a spin.

It's Monday morning? Who would rather craft than work? Me me me... Oh gosh yes, I am SO not in the mood to do anything workwise. It's early afternoon here. The DGDs will be here in about an hour from school, then, as I take over the working shift from their mum, we all swop over and she gets the kids and I get to work. I should be doing paperwork before they arrive but I've been procrastinating. Gah.

Is that normal for you to work so late gillyp I have noticed you tend to post later at night than most of my UK friends. So I assumed your schedule was not an 8-5 kind of thing.

I work till 9.30 p.m. It used to be 10.30 p.m. but I brought the hours down a little from the first lockdown so something good came from that!

It's Monday morning? Who would rather craft than work? Me me me... Me! But I have to finish putting the living area back together after my 'pull it all out and purge/organize' spree this weekend. DH should be home around 7 pm after being gone for 11 days. Upside is that I have all the photos/memorabilia in one place ready to deal with, and have a list of what needs to be done in each partially finished scrapbook. Now I'm ready to get going for the summer. I'm pretty much indoors until late Sept. now with the summer heat.

I have a 2 page layout for my ds’s preschool book to do. Then order the last of the pictures for it so I can be done with it.
I really should start looking ahead at my math for next year since I’ll now be JUST math 6th-8th grades next school year. But… the books are sitting on the table staring at me. Lol

Always love to see what you’re creating, sewing and wearing. Always beautiful! Do you sell your creations somewhere? P.S. LOVE your scissors !!! I don't have a shop set up. I do have a few bags for sale. I prefer to just make a few then sell them instead of taking anytype of custom orders.

I love this, and would love to give it a try! Can you recommend a YouTube tutorial? Thank you! I have never painted before - I like the tutorials from " Let's Make Art" I first watched several "beginner" videos about how to use water colors, the different types of paints (solid, liquid, tubes) and color theory and the basics of using watercolors and such and then I found the Barnyard Landscape tutorial and followed that.

EEK! I'm expecting a yarn delivery today. Wool Warehouse had a special the other day, 20% off the brand new Drops Soft Tweed yarn. I decided (with the help of my enabler friend JoP) that since I have a birthday coming up next month, I would treat myself. I upgraded to the DHL delivery for two pounds more and they say they are going to get it here today. And I just ordered on Tuesday! Isn't that crazy? From Great Britain to Michigan in 3 days??

I'm slowly knitting away on my socks, I had a stupid accident with the tumble dryer and couldn't knit for a few days (typical when my mojo just came back) but I'm on the heel flap of both socks now.
I ordered some junk journal supplies that the post office have managed to deliver to the wrong address
