EEK! I'm expecting a yarn delivery today. Wool Warehouse had a special the other day, 20% off the brand new Drops Soft Tweed yarn. I decided (with the help of my enabler friend JoP ) that since I have a birthday coming up next month, I would treat myself. I upgraded to the DHL delivery for two pounds more and they say they are going to get it here today. And I just ordered on Tuesday! Isn't that crazy? From Great Britain to Michigan in 3 days?? Who me? 😂🤔😄😘

Wow, that's fast! I didn't know Drops had a new yarn out *strokes chin* do I need new yarn?
I'm slowly knitting away on my socks, I had a stupid accident with the tumble dryer and couldn't knit for a few days (typical when my mojo just came back) but I'm on the heel flap of both socks now.
I ordered some junk journal supplies that the post office have managed to deliver to the wrong address You probably should take a peek lainey 😁😉

Note to self: I don't need any yarn, I don't need any yarn, I don't need any yarn! This is a brand new yarn from Drops! I had to try it. You do too. Just know that the yardage on the website is incorrect. Each ball is 130m 142y. So I ended up with about twice as much as I actually needed. I may make a different pattern because of it.

Oh thanks for sharing about the yardage jeremysgirl. Is the yarn itchy at all because of the wool? I am so tempted especially since it's still on sale.

@patter I don't think it feels itchy. I think the alpaca makes it softer

I made this shawl - it’s called Mother of Dragons. I’m gifting it to a friend for her birthday in July. How beautiful! Please may we see it on you?

I am seriously considering looking on Etsy for a shawl as I will never be at the level to make one myself, (hands hurt to much). I was wondering if one of those unusual shaped shawls would be better than a triangle one. The reason I would like one is that now I sleep sitting up the BiPap masks sends cold air across my chest and tops of my arms. Not so bad in the good weather but in the winter it is horrible. Any thoughts?
well I searched for a couple of hours looking for something like the lovely one JoP made. No luck so far so I`ll just have to keep on looking.

I was wondering if one of those unusual shaped shawls would be better than a triangle one. The reason I would like one is that now I sleep sitting up the BiPap masks sends cold air across my chest and sops of arms. Not so bad in the good weather but in the winter it is horrible. Any thoughts? I would watch the measurements in the wingspan of a shawl. My thoughts on shawls are that I like a shawl to cover the upper part of my arm. If you want it to cover your whole arm, I would recommend a wrap instead. But I wouldn't buy a shawl that wasn't at least as wide at the top as I am tall. Some of mine that I've made are even wider than Jeremys wingspan. And he's pretty big.

Years ago BC (before children) I had a knitting machine and made an adult sweater that looked very similar in textured pattern. I'd almost forgot about that until seeing this. These look wonderful and are destined to be treasured.

I am really late to the thread this month, but I have finally finished a few projects and got around to taking some photos. This is a sweater for me, which was so fun to make as it used a construction method that is new to me. I love the finished garment, even if it is too hot to wear it right now. This little set is for a friend whose first, long awaited, baby was born late last month. She is going to be in Munich this week, so I had to hurry to get it done before we meet tomorrow. I have started another cardigan in the same pattern for my niece’s baby, who is due next month, and a cardigan for me, using the same construction as the purple sweater.

sueg Those are gorgeous and I adore that purple. What is the yarn, please? The purple yarn is Wollmeise Pure, in the colourway Purple Velvet. It is a fingering weight pure wool with a really tight twist, so it knits up to a beautiful fabric. Wollmeise is based in a small town not far from Munich, and you can buy the yarns through her website: Wollmeise
