This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

Sorry I am slow getting this posted. I meant to do it last night and forgot. Hope each of you have had a great long weekend. Neisey, your layout is gorgeous. I love the photography. Did you do that? The font on Spring is so pretty. It's just a beautiful page top to bottom. I doubt if very many got to see it. You are welcome to post it here in this thread if you'd like. Have a very scrap-happy month, everyone.

It's June 1st ready for my first monthly challenge event. I worked on some items when I arose this morning at 3AM to watch The French Open. Hope to finish some of them when I get home tonight. Waving hello to all the Pokey's! Neisey Your page is just stunning, I went back to the old thread to look at and I am so glad I did thanks nylene for posting I would not have know to look at the old post and I would have missed this beauty.

Neisey - that was gorgeous! Did you post it in the May or June sharing thread? I've been so busy, I haven't scrapped since the iNSD crop. We're still finishing up school with DD14 also. Hoping to squeeze in some scrapping also

Happy June, Pokeys. Thanks for the new thread, nylene. Love this place we can come to and just chat. MARIBETHR, I can't believe you got up at 3:00AM to scrap! Linda, I hope that when school winds down and everyone is more settled into their new home, you will be able to retreat to your lovely new craft room and PLAY! I had an appointment for my B12 shot today, and drove to the next town to pick up some copies of pages for dgs's grad album. Still hoping there will be some photos of the grad ceremony, but he took his last year on line, so not sure what if anything is planned for that. Also printed a few photos I hope to play with later in the week. But also hoping to get my bedding plants out into the garden before the weekend as well, so we will see what can be accomplished. After a layout a day in May, my mind is mush and I think I need some new experiences before I can tell many more stories. Got some scary and some sad updates from ds's family in BC. Our oldest dgd is scheduled for spinal surgery later this month, just two days before her 19th birthday. They will be removing a cyst which they believe in benign, but won't be certain of until after the surgery. Then today the family had to say goodbye to their 14 year old dog.

I'm looking forward to June! As much summer as possible looming in front of us Thanks for starting the pokey challenge nylene ! grammadee - sweet old man, I'm sure they are heart broken I'm also sure you are worried to death about Dgd, even if it is benign, surgery around a spine isn't comfortable to consider! @meribethr - I love tennis too - it's one of the few sports that I really wish we still had TV so I could watch. I can stream on my computer, but it can be jerky motion, and if I cast it to my TV the resolution isn't usually good enough. But that cable bill had to go, we didn't use it enough!

grammadee - prayers for your family - it's never easy to say goodbye to a beloved pet. And spine surgery is scary!

grammadee, I am so sorry for the loss of your Dear granddog. I know what a hole it will leave in all your hearts. I hope things go perfectly with DGD's surgery. She will be in my prayers as will be the doctors and those caring for her. And extra big hugs for the grandma worrying about her! Keep us informed, please.

But in GOOD news... Alberta Health Services texted me this afternoon to tell me I was eligible to book my second Covid shot. I immediately went on line where I was put into a @queue" for about 45 minutes (with minute by minute updates of # of people ahead of me and time remaining) and was able to book my shot for DAY AFTER TOMORROW in my own home town! So Thursday is vaccination day for me!

Good Morning! New month, new intentions to be around more often - best laid plans right? lol. nylene Happy belated Birthday! I'm sorry I missed that I hope it was wonderful! grammadee I hope DGS surgery goes off without a hitch and the news is good. That's so scary that it's spine surgery though. And YAY for your second dose! I'm so sorry about the pup. That's going to leave a big hole. Those photos are precious. kitbop I could never afford cable - it's so outrageous! I have a rabbit ears antenna to pick up local channels, pay for a couple streaming channels and also have a roku. It would be so easy to pick up enough separate channels to equal a cable bill though. Most days my TV is never turned on - except maybe for bird videos for Abby lol. We are going into what will probably be the busiest month of the year at work - although I don't even know how it could get busier than it's already been. It's so crazy. @meribethr I would love to be an early morning crafter the way you are. My brain won't work well that early lol. Linda I'm on the bench with you hoping to squeeze in some scrapping this month. *fingers crossed* I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

@meribethr I would love to be an early morning crafter the way you are. My brain won't work well that early lol I have always been a morning person. My brain shuts off at about 3PM, so that is why I don't really get much done on the weeknights. Even on the weekends I go to bed early so I can rise early when my mojo is at it's height. The only night I stay up an craft is with the Stamplistic class every other Friday night. That group of ladies are so fun, and it is so relaxing to work on the project at the end of a long work week. Your mojo just reaches peak at a different time is all. We are all unique.

MARIBETHR that's so true. And I remember many mornings that my mom would be up painting ceramics at 5AM. I work long hours sometimes and my job is a mental brain drain so evening creating doesn't usually happen. It's finding that flow that works for me - and it sounds like you have found what works for you which is great!

My Covid shot appointment went off without a hitch, so in two weeks I should be totally immune. My arm is a little sore, but otherwise am feeling okay.
Dd and family had planned to drive here after school today to camp in our yard again, but had something come up, so they will be driving down in the morning instead. They closed on a holiday trailer this week, and it has been promised for delivery by June 15th, so this may be their last time tenting!
Hot hot hot here this evening! Hovered around 30C all day. Just starting to cool down outside now.

Yay for immunity grammadee! Katie got her first shot yesterday - last of the family. She had a hard time. I gave her ativan (15 year old ativan in the cupboard, never used) and steered her through the place as she cried. She then calmed down during the 45 minute wait (ativan + snapchatting with friends who were very supportive). She really melted down once seated for the shot. She was wimpering and squinching her eyes closed and was shaking. The pharmacist was *wonderful*, perfectly calming but also hurried as he saw her situation escalating. She squeezed my hand and I insisted she open her eyes and look at me to calm her down, and was able to say as she opened them, "it's done" and the look on her face was PRICELESS because she hadn't even felt it. She was like, "wait, what? OK, now I feel stupid..." It's not going to be easy for the next shot but I think this experience will help a bit!

That is a beautiful summer page, MARIBETHR. And I love your new tracker. Wow. That is one ambitious project! If you printed off yesterday the printable list of challenges for June, this morning I fixed an error I made. Added in gramma's Titles challenge that I missed. kitbop, was your dd always terrified of needles? Hopefully not feeling it go in this time will make her braver next time. I actually felt both jabs I had this week (B12 on Tueday; Covid yesterday). The pharmacist said I was not as relaxed as usual for the B12, and it hurt then, and still does. Then I really tried to relax for the covid shot, but I think it was like hearing that Carol Burnett character saying "Re-L-A-A-A-X!" so it kinda worked in reverse. Both arms still a bit sore when I move them. Just enjoying a quiet cup of coffee before all the excitement this weekend. I don't know how one boy can drain the batteries of four adults, but it happens. After a month of her dh being at home, dd is still exhausted after over a year of solo parenting him, so if she has no juice left, maybe it is the 3 of us who are losing charge now... Have a great weekend!

grammadee - I printed the printable list this morning at about 3:30 AM am I good or should I go reprint? I just made the change about an hour ago. It is just one addition to the Words/Titles category. You could probably just read the new list and hand write that one in. Or just print that page of the new list.

Wow, MARIBETHR she really doesn't look old enough to be their mom/grandma! Nice way you brought emphasis to the photos with the matted pp rectangles. I hadn't noticed your ticker (I skim over signatures and the like automatically) - that is so cute! grammadee, thanks for the heads up about the extra challenge, I'll add it. Katie became afraid of needles during school shots in grade 7. I think she had some anxiety then, and there was no parent to help her process it, just a bunch of grade 7 girls to intensify it I'm leaving for work now, but hope to pop into the evening crop if I have the energy. And if there is a crop...I didn't check!

I don't know how one boy can drain the batteries of four adults, but it happens. I don't know how that happens either, but it's a real thing! I thought I was exhausted because Rudy was small, but he still exhausts me now that he's older lol. I'm so happy for everyone getting their shots! It was a relief even after my first shot. I'm still not quite ready to give up the mask in public and it looks like a lot of people here feel the same way, but in time it will come. kitbop I was surprised at how little I felt either of those shots going in. I hope Katy is feeling better about getting her second dose. And that your DD does well with hers Linda . MARIBETHR I love that summer LO such bright pretty colors! And your stepdaughter does not look old enough to be those grown mens mom! kellyr21 you've been on my mind a lot lately, sending you some good vibes and hugs! I have a busy weekend and will hopefully remember to grab some pictures! Well mostly working for a few hours today - yuck - weekend housework, then Rudy is testing for his yellow belt this afternoon. Tomorrow is DS2's bday so we will go have dinner together. Plenty of photo ops this weekend. I'm not sure we have a crop scheduled for tonight and I saw gramma is hosting one tomorrow but I'm not sure if I will make it. I've totally torn apart my scrap space. It's almost back together so that I can actually scrap again. grammadee after 10+ days of gray skies and rain we have hot sunny days this weekend. I'm not ready for the heat, but I'll take the sun! Hurray for no more tent camping! I hate tent camping so much. But trailer camping isn't much better IMO - I'm not that much of an outdoors person lol. Definitely in the wrong line of work LOL.

kitbop , I am so sorry that Katie was so frightened. I hope she will not be so nervous next time. I hate doing things that I am so terribly afraid of, so I have empathy for her. We used to always have the patient take a big breath and let it out all at once, that's when we did the shot. That made them very relaxed and it seemed they felt it less. joyfulnana , I thought the very same thing about grammadee 's drained batteries around a grandchild. I could add Alex to that mix. He just wears me out! He and Rudy need to donate energy to their grandmas! grammadee , little boys' energy should be bottled for sale! Congrats on the Covid vaccine. I am seeing fewer and fewer masks. We haven't yet returned to church because masks aren't required, but plan to go back in July. I know many Trumpers in our congregation that refuse the shot but also refuse the mask. It makes me nervous, not just for us, but for them! MARIBETHR , you are really on a roll already this month! I'm plugging along but know I won't get anything done while we are in Calif. We are planning on making a bound book together and some stitched journals, so that will count for other crafts. Otherwise, my numbers won't be very big. Not that I worry about it. I just do what I can do. I have left love in the gallery on your projects. It's so nice seeing your avatar pop up here!! I spent last night and this morning trying to remember all the steps for book binding that I learned about 5 years ago. I had to take out the stitching twice and still forgot one step. I hope I can still remember when we get to Calif. I think my DD and DGD both want to make one. I also watched a bunch of journal binding YouTubes and that may end up being more of what my DD had in mind. We will see. I don't see that anyone signed up for the Online Crop today. I need to have someone walk me through the process so I can take a turn. I am extremely computer-challenged, in fact, can't believe I have not had trouble even getting on. I feel guilty enjoying but not taking a turn.

Happy Saturday! I hope you all are having a good day. I was ready to get on the chat today but no chat. I will catch you all next time. msliz. you will have to show me how to host. Maybe I can do it down the road. Having an art journaling playdate with some cousins tomorrow over Zoom and I am excited. I made a YT video this week for them and others who want to know how I do it. Went to M's for the first time since March 2020! I had a ball getting out and walking around the whole store. Our store is usually so busy so I went early. But the lines was super long but moved fast. My dh and I always tease that nothing stops the Downey shoppers. Rain, heat, holidays or even a freakin pandemic! I know our stores were still busy while most people in other areas were staying home. LOL! I finally got my vaccines scheduled! First one is this Saturday! Man, I can't wait till this is all behind us! SMH! joyfulnana- Thanks so much for thinking of me. Last week was tough emotionally. I have been in such a fog for months but my birthday last Saturday triggered my grief. Boy, this is hard! So you made me smile when I saw your note here, today. Hugs to you, too! I gotta catch up here and see what you all have been up to. Waving hi to ya!

Linda , I somehow missed your post. Hooray for your DD's Covid shot. Are you getting settled enough to be able to have a scrap room? Have you planted a garden this year? It seems like your area is getting rain while our plants are burning up. We have been at 100 degrees the past two days. Take care of yourself. kellyr21 , I hope things are going OK for you. Miss seeing your smiling face popping up. gramma , did you get my Peamail. I had it typed out and forgot to send it. I look forward to seeing you. I hope you all have a great weekend. kellyr21, we were posting at the same time.

I completely miss out on May. I never got back on here to share how Phoebe did after her surgery. She did well and the vet did say it was cancerous. He feels confident that he got it all. I didn't have any further testing to find out exactly what type of cancer it was. She had to wear a cone/donut till she got her stitches out. She is acting like her normal self. I hope that continues! grammadee, I am sorry for the loss of your granddog. In May, I ended up trading in my vehicle for a new one. I have always drove Acura's and have had an eye on the Acura RDX for a few years now. I was going to wait till June but went in one day just to let them know what I wanted and to call in case something came in. They had what I wanted in stock but they had discounts on new ones that I drove away in a brand new SUV! I have never bought a brand new vehicle before but really loving my new ride. I went yesterday and got my tags transferred and paid all the taxes. I start vacation this Wednesday for 3 weeks from work. I am excited! I am tired of having to work so short. It is a much needed break! I hope to be more active while I am off on the board and get caught up!
