Sweet kitten story, Linda. I have been getting videos of a new puppy my ds & family have picked up. (Not the family who just lost their dog; these ones lost theirs last Christmas.) She even sent one of 30 seconds of pitch blackness while puppy cried in her kennel. When I get some photos where I can see her face, I will post here. kellyr21 how fun to be "seen" on TV. Maybe next time you can be in the studio audience in person, and called up onto the stage, and... I often used to wish I lived in California or somewhere else my fav shows taped so I could attend in person. When we traveled there in the early 90's the kids wanted me to get tickets to The Price is Right, but no luck. Hoping nylene got to destination and is enjoying time with family. And that kitbop is unwinding at the campsite. Our campers arrive on Friday with their new RV trailer. They pick it up today and will stay in it on our yard this weekend, then leave it here for a couple of weeks before picking it up to head out to the lake for a couple of weeks. I have an anniversary card I need to make for them, and thinking I will pull out my Hero Arts lake stamp & dies. I also want to put together a bunch of masculine bd cards, but not sure if that will be done today. Need to get groceries for the weekend. Had planned to go into town tomorrow, but dh--who is a flier junkie--informs me that there are some items we need that are on sale only until end of day today. The construction on our lane has been completed so I am free to come and go again. And speaking of coming and going, my big news: next week I plan to drive to Calgary to visit with our oldest son and family. Really looking forward to seeing them in person. My ddil called and said the kids really want to see me. In fact, she told me I should just "jump in the car and come" last Thursday when she called after supper. At one time I [might] have been able to pull off a 6 hour impromptu drive after supper, but not any more... Takes me longer than that just to THINK about it! I can deliver dgs's grad gift and attend some minor ball games and get some photos of their two new colts. Our other son's family--the ones with the new puppy--will have already left for the cabin by then, so won't see them this time. But hopefully I can start making that trip on a regular basis again. And they are hoping to get up here this summer for a few days as well.

what a sweet puppy! The boys look so happy! grammadeeI'll post a picture of the kitten in a bit. He's five weeks, not six, and only half a pound. But healthy other than needing eye drops. Not big enough for shots so we'll take him back next week. And it looks like he's staying here for good. Name is still up in the air but I think he'll end up "Dusty"

kitbop I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Such a cute puppy grammadee. It's so exciting that you and nylene are getting to visit family. Linda your cat sounds adorable. kellyr21 that is so cool that you got to "be" in the audience. I have some related news. I am going to be on the Scrap Gals podcast! Sadly, you can only hear it if you have a paid subscription. They have been doing Life Stories prompts to help their subscribers find some mojo and they asked if I wanted to do one of the sample layouts for June. I think I can share the page after the podcast goes up next week. I did one about how I'm like my Dad. I only have seven days of work left and I can't wait! Well actually only 6.5 days because I have a dental appointment this afternoon. We had a two day heat wave with temperatures above 30C (high 80'sF I think), but it cooled off over night.

Happy Wednesday! Waving hi to you all! Thanks for all the cheers about the TV show. Last night Ron and I watched it and he was so excited for me. We giggled at a few parts where I was moving my face to get a full view on camera! LOL! I hope you all got to see the video I posted on my blog for a better view of me. So fun! I am have a few crafty things to work on today. I started a layout the other night and want to finish it today. Plus, I am doing more art journaling and editing a new art video for this week. Here is another blog post about the cute animated pictures I created with the app Voila. They turned out so cute and I even made a few of Ron, too. I hope you stop by and see all the fun pictures. Link Heregrammadee - Oh, I wished you could of gone on the Price Is Right! When I was a little girl, one day I was home sick with a cold. I was watching TV in my parent's room and the PIR was on TV. I looked up and our cousin was on there! I yelled to my mom that cousin Gracie was on TV. She had a chance to win a car but lost on that golf putter game. LOL! justjac - Congrats to you on the podcast!!! You will have to tell us how it goes. So exciting! Plus, I know you will be glad for your Summer break to start. kitbop - Hugs to you! This has been such a hard time for all of us! linda & grammadee - I am so jealous! LOL! What beautiful pets you now have! That puppy is so cute and I know your family has got to be in love! Linda, that little kitten is adorable! Glad you get to keep it. grammadee - SO glad you are going to see your family! How exciting! nylene , I hope you are having a great time with yours, too.

justjac - how exciting about the podcast! woohoo! kellyr21 - look at you, girl! So much creativity and wow! I love your birthday layout! We're nearly done with homeschooling. Reading just has a book report left for her to finish (she's been dragging her feet on it). Algebra has a handful more lessons and 3 more tests. Science will be done after tomorrow's test. And everything else is finished except English. She has to write a 4-5 page research report and finish working through the composition book (which is taking her through the steps for the report). DS's leave got approved so we will get to see him this summer. So excited - we're counting down the days. And I'm trying to catch up his albums. 2021 is almost done and will be once I get the last few photos (ordered tonight, pickup tomorrow) scrapped. But I'm playing catchup with June 2019-March 2020 and I'm not sure I'll get all those done but I'll do my best.

That's beautiful kellyr21! Linda, yay for leave. My DS (22) still adores family stuff, and I can't imagine not getting a bit of time with him at holidays/summers. How many cats do you have now? We have 4: the old tom surly outdoor wannabee, the aloof floofy princess, the siamese prince who manages to be the alpha cat despite being the smallest, and the scrawny perpetually sick junior cat who just wants to play with all the other cats and is always getting beat-up because of it! We got home from camping last evening, in time to start preparing for the delivery of our new upright deep freeze. In our house, it's like playing "Blokus" to move stuff around to get stuff in and out. Heavy stuff. Dirty heavy stuff. Well, except it's clean again now Our old deep freeze is about 30 years old, or more. It came with the house 22 years ago So I can't complain...except if you open it you are greeted with a WALL of ice and there is more ice in there than food these days despite frequent defrosting. The seal is just gone. I guess I should take a picture of the deep freeze?

kitbop - we have 5 again now. Midnight is a big black neutered tom who was an outside cat until about 5 years ago (he was a stray we were feeding) and is about 16-18 and slowing down; Little Friend who is 11.5 and a totally high maintanance diva; her "kittens" are 11 now - Tabby and Mini; and now Dusty who is 5 weeks and so so tiny. We haven't introduced him to Tabby yet because Tabby isn't the friendlist of cats to other cats (although he is better than he was) but the others have met Dusty and aren't too fazed. Good luck with the tetris and yay for a new freezer. We bought an upright when we moved - I had a small chest that was 25ish years old and the new one is lovely.

Your page is lovely, kellyr21 . I left love in the Gallery. Linda , that still sounds like a bit of work ahead of your dd14, but I am sure she will get it completed in time for you all to have a more relaxing time together. Bet your ds is counting the days until he gets to come home, too. I will take a closer look at the latest pages you posted on the sharing thread. I have a busy few days ahead. Dd & family arrive this evening with their RV trailer, and will be camping in the yard here until Sunday. Thursday I will be leaving to visit ds & family in Calgary. Not having been taking these road trips for awhile, it will take me a little more time to prepare. This morning I quickly put together my sample for NEXT week's Sketchy Saturday b/c I am not sure how much time there will be to get this done. Can't share until at least Thursday before I leave.
ETA, welcome home, kitbop. You should definitely get some photos of the whole freezer exchange process. That's the kind of thing I never get shots of, but there is a challenge this month to scrap your home... Our animals all live outside of the house. Two cats live in the garage; one older dog eats in there and sleeps in there at night. The younger dog eats and sleeps in an igloo dog house in her outdoor kennel. Both dogs are out most of the day. The cats used to be, but they are terrified of Kandi, so they choose to hang out in the garage until she is penned up in the evening, and then they go exploring.

Have fun with family grammadee - that does sound busy but you'll get lots of memories and photographs! DD14 made good progress today - turned in her book report so Reading is done. Took her final Science test so that is done. Took an algebra test and did an algebra lesson. We'll be done with Algebra next week. The research report will take as much time as she drags feet.

Good Morning ladies! I have lots to catch up on! kellyr21 how exciting to be part of the virtual audience that's so cool! justjac and kitbop I'm so sorry to hear about your friends. Big big hugs to you both. How exciting about the podcast! I might have to subscribe for a bit Linda I asked about Dusty in the chat thread, but now I have the story. He's such a cutie! Abby is a tank compared to him lol. That's great that DS leave was approved! How long will you have him home with you? nylene I hope you are enjoying the time with your family! I'm excited and happy for you! Things are so busy at work and the weekends are busy with people lately and I have no mojo. At. all. But I'm going to roll with it and wait for things to slow down and the mojo to return. It will eventually. grammadee it's so good to hear you are going to be traveling to see your kids again! I feel ya on that personal power light, mine seems to be perpetually in the yellow low power zone lol. Well, I need to get in gear and pack Abby up to get her vaccines updated today. Getting her into the carrier might be a job. She hissed and ran when I got it out of the closet lol. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! It's HOT here and has been for over a week.

Happy Saturday! I got my first vaccine shot today! Overall I feel ok and just relieved to get this done. Whew! In celebration of Juneteenth, I wanted to re-share a blog post about my 4th great grandmother Samantha. She was a slave and lived to be over 110 years old. She was written about in an newspaper obituary article. Check it out! Link Here

Hoping you and dh arrive home safely, nylene . How did the Pokeys celebrate Fathers' Day? We went out for supper yesterday. Before we left, Dd & hubby put together dh's new new bbq and it works well: we tested it out with steaks today for lunch. The trailer is packed up with alot of my old camping dishes and towels which dd and I spent much of the weekend sorting through. Not that many photos taken, but a busy weekend. Heading off to check out your blog post, kellyr21 . PS I love your new avatar. Is that one of your paintings?
And then to bed with with this old lady.

Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a good day! I slept well and the only symptom I had from my vaccine is some soreness in my arm where they gave me the shot. So thankful! As my treat for getting my vaccine, we went to Joann this afternoon. This was my first time there since the pandemic. Boy, I enjoyed myself and bought some things. They were having a 60% off sale on VB and other American Craft brands. So I got got lots of pp. Feels so good being able to get out more. I can wait until we can see our family and give them all big hugs! Here is one of my Voila App pictures. You can see the other ones on my blog post. Link HereSo fun to make! You just add a picture and they make the animated images. I wonder what kind of character in a Pixar movie would I be??? LOL! grammadee my new avatar came from this. kellyr21 - thank you for sharing your 4th great grandmother with us. That was so interesting to read. I love you avator - so fun! Glad you got the shot with no issues. grammadee - sounds busy - have fun camping! We don't do anything really for Mother's Day/Father's Day - our parents are all gone and our kids aren't parents yet. I made a special dinner for DH and strawberry-rhubarb pie (his favourite) for dessert. DH pottered around sorting stuff, unpacking boxes, he built another 6-cube unit for me. I did chores, sorted out the cube unit, scrapbooked. We all played with the kitten - and with the big cats who all of a sudden are being extra affectionate and playful.

So much has happened since we left. I hope I remember everything I read. First I have to say that we had a wonderful time with family and the day I spent with gramma was fabulous. I felt like I had known her forever. She brought everything to teach me how to make an accordion album and brought enough for Angie to start hers too. We laughed and talked and had fun together. We went to lunch at Panera and stayed and talked more! It was hard to say goodbye to her. She insisted on bringing Panera cookies home to my grandchildren. What a thoughtful person she is! We love you, Claudia! kitbop , I am so sorry about your friend. My heart hurts for her and you and all who love her. ((Hugs)). I'm glad you got away for the weekend. I'm sure it felt good to get out in nature. I'm sure you will love your new freezer. Our old freezer at home was always full of ice and we defrosted often. When we sold mom & dad's home we left the freezer and the buyers were thrilled. I hope they were able to get new seals for it, but it was sooooo old! justjac , congrats on school being almost over and especially for your "appearance" on the podcast. What an honor! They recognize talent when they see it! kellyr21 , I loved seeing you on the screen, even if you had to move to catch the camera. That must have been such a fun experience. While my sister lived in Downey, she and my other 2 sisters would often go sit in the audience of a show. It sounded like fun. I love your new avatar. Angie has a new one that looks similar. They are really cute. I love your layout and loved re-reading your your post about your 4th great grandmother, Samantha. What a treasure to have that obituary. Congrats on your vaccine. Linda , I am so happy that your DS's leave came through. I hope he can spend some good quality time there with you. I hope your little Dusty gets used to sleeping somewhere other than on you. LOL. I hope all goes well with getting him acclimated to your home and animals. grammadee , what a sweet new puppy. I'm glad you have had some time with family and will have time with more family this week. Doesn't it feel good to have a little more freedom lately? I think your ears must have been burning while Claudia and I were together. We both remarked on how much energy you have and what a hard worker you are. joyfulnana , I hope you got Abby in her crate and that she did well on the visit. I'm sorry that things are so busy for you right now. It seems that things have never really slowed down in your work. Do you have vacation time that will give you a chance to get away? I know there were other things I meant to comment on. I may remember later. I hope you each have a wonderful summer week. It's very hot here, but I prefer that to cold. Hugs to all the Pokeys!

She enjoyed a lovely big family dinner Saturday, had another even bigger stroke Sunday and is unresponsive today. We are all heartbroken, not just to lose her, but that our community is losing her. At work, we just keep saying, "it's not fair".

I had a great time with Nylene and her family. We taught each other a few things and chatted and chatted. Her grand-daughter has written a book and Nylene helped her bind it. I looks like a book you'd find in one of those artsy little book stores. I'll bet she gets something published one of these days. The middle grandson has having an Agravation (game) marathon with his grandfather. He was really excited to win a game. As he said "finally". The younger grandson was not at all sure about coming home from school and finding a stranger in his house. Her daughter and son-in-law couldn't have made me feel more welcome. Angie jumped in to sort paper and look for some cardstock for us - someone forgot to bring it!! But the best (next to Nylene) was her husband Steve. He brought me one of his hand made pens! It is beautiful. I have strict directions to "use it - don't just put it in a drawer some place" It was a wonderful day. You'll have to rely on Nylene for pictures. nylene

How did I miss the part of nylene and gramma getting together?! That's so wonderful and makes my heart so happy that you two got to meet and spend a day together! So happy you got to see your California kids nylene! Oh kitbop I'm so sorry about your friend. Life is NOT fair and I don't like that! I never got in gear so Abby still needs shots lol. It was mostly procrastinating on my part, they are still following Covid guidelines and you wait in the car for them to call you in. It was SO HOT Saturday. I'll try again this coming weekend. nylene, my job usually starts slowing down after Labor Day, except this year it didn't really slow much. I'm telling myself the story that the kids will be back in classrooms and parents will be back in the office which is going to cause things to slow down like it should. It may be a fantasy but it's what I'm telling myself right now. I do have a week and a half scheduled off in September around We Create. Lots of days before and after to get ready for it, then relax once it's over. I'm looking forward to it! kellyr21 I love that new avatar and yours too kitbop! Going to have to give that app a try. I'll be back later to finally catch up on the sharing thread and also catch up with kellyr21's blog and videos
