Hello fellow campers! I thought it would be fun to discuss the content of our boxes. It's starting next Friday and I just can't wait. This week I will organize them by the projects and diecut the pieces and stamp the images. I never done classes like this ,but I thought it will help me to have everything ready to go so I can pay attention to the chattings. How about you?
Which stamp set and die set are your favorite and least favorite?
Which projects are your favorite and least favorite?
Any tips?
And did you open the gift from your counselor? Do you like it?

I’d live to see the products you got. Are there any unboxing videos?

Fun thread, azcrafty . I'm a fellow Oceanside camper. My favorite is the meadow turnabout. (and the counselor gift!) Least favorite would probably be the large flower stamp, but I love the sentiments that go along with it. Large flowers just aren't my thing, but it is pretty. I don't really have a favorite project. I am excited to get some watercoloring tips, though. The smores treat is YUM! And so soft. Unlike what I usually can get. That was about as vague as I could get, while still answering your questions. I just hope I'm home Friday and Saturday so I can watch it live. My DD and her family are moving and I promised to help, not thinking about the date. How would you answer your questions? "See" you Friday! ETA: It is a great box of goodies!!

Which stamp set and die set are your favorite and least favorite? Fave: like peasquared, the small turnabout? Unfave: I might not purchase any since the main topic isn’t my thing and I have too many of the other type. What I haven’t had is a nice juicy event or classes to go to in real life (pandemic!), so that’s the draw, so I’m still so looking forward to it.
Which projects are your favorite and least favorite? Fave: Toss-up between Kristina’s 2nd and Cathy’s 1st, even though I’m a big Laura fan. Unfave: ?
Any tips? To myself: Wonderfully packed box, and trying new inks/watercolors/papers will be great. Projects were well thought out so kick back to enjoy the process, camaraderie, and most of all learning. (My watercolor skills have degraded and I’m just getting back into it.) And find out where they got the treat!
And did you open the gift from your counselor? Do you like it? Yes. No. When we can freely talk I can explain why beside the odd (to me) choice, part of my reaction is personal and not the counselor’s fault.

I ❤️ my box, I would not pick up everything if a would shop by myself, but this will challenge me to create different cards. I see lots of masculine cards in my future 😀
My favorite stamp set is meadow flower and the adventure awaits- this will be great to create scene cards I'm surprised that the project Lydia made with it is so simple, but I can see that maybe she kept it that way so we learn the watercoloring techniques.
Least favorite stamp, probably the small set of sentiments just because I would like more of them 🙃.
Favorite die hands down the mountain stack...I love scene building dies and this is kind of a box card and I like how you can create different landscapes (mountain, ocean, lake, desert, forest) and the little car from the happy camper could be used with it too.
Least favorite die the floral wreath, I love flower dies but this looks very basic to me I like that its big it will be nice to use it on 3D projects.
I like all the projects, they are more on the simple side, but hoping to see more ideas from the designers and probably we will because there is the sequins and twine they haven't used on any of the cards. I am looking forward to learn more watercoloring techniques.
I can't wait for Friday, I took a half a day off so I could be home for it.
Anyone is doing the Scavenger Hunt on page 16?
I guess I'm not that wague, I did say spoiler in the thread title so we can talk about it openly.
I like my counselor gift, she is known for rainbows after all...

Trade you a lobster for a rainbow, hypothetically speaking, that is. I bet they had conversations about complexity, given that there could be participants newer to cards making. And that’s 1000% fine. Sometimes someone has an unexpected twist on something I’ve done for ages, or if not, still will be fun. I like the horizon on the simple card. Lately I’ve had a thing for horizons (or blurred divisions), more so because of the class event Justine Hovey, Laurel Beard and Ingrid Blackburn (new to me and love!!) recently held. Ingrid did some horizon pieces using a gel plate that were swoonable. (Plus faux batik (not with a gel plate) but that’s a whole other story.) ETA Scavenger hunt: I’m trying! While I have some great C&9th stamps and dies, I’ve never followed them on Instagram or anything, so some are tough. I have an answer for every question, just am not sure of 1 or 2. I’ll send you a lobster for one of the answers, haha. I’m watching a dad bluebird feed mealworms to his baby on our deck rail. Oh, here comes the mom. Such good parents. 💕

I'm excited! I always figure if I just learn one new trick or tip, it's all worth it. That has always worked in every kind of class, whether personal or business.
I think they did a great job of mixing it up.

I think they did a great job of mixing it up. Thats good to know. Everyone has so much YouTube videos out there with tips and techniques that before this I was skeptical if there is more to teach, not that I know everything ,but I do watch a lot of crafty videos with my morning coffee so I'm curious. The one place I'm not good at is watercoloring, but I'm just to lazy to practice, practice and practice. So I'm excited to see KW and LF projects. I'm excited to just have fun!

Sure did! Uploaded a dark blue dot to my profile and spent a little time looking around. I still have to do the assigned die cutting, get a little organized and familiarize myself with colors, since I’ve never used C&9 cardstock. Yesterday I straightened up my craft room some but have more to do. I only had about four hours of sleep so need to try to catch a couple more hours too. And a trip to the Post Office is finally on the agenda.
Did you do more than the assigned die cutting, like you had planned?

I spy watercoloring supplies and a Container Store clear shoe box, I think. Accessory, shoe, tall shoe, boot, sweater, handy.
And that looks like a huge screen, so nice! I have a feeling I’ll mostly use my iPad mini since my PC monitor on my desk (where I also die cut with Gemini Jr.) won’t reach to my crafting desk where I do everything else except paper trimming, which is at a different place. Small room but several stations.

I was able to get signed in and waiting. I just hope I can be in my scrapbook room for the class. We have a bunch of deliveries coming today that take my attention. I will probably just watch and learn, then try to actually do the project later. That way I won't fall behind if I have to quick leave. I hope you all have a great time and love the classes! "See" you at the campfire.

Oh, yes, that’s tough - but so nice you’ll be with a friend. I have no excuse but 4 hours of sleep last night has zombie-ized me. I wish watercolors were tomorrow since it takes more concentration for me than die cutting, stamping, etc.

I wasn't able to see the polls because of the orange block needing a password.
I've just been watching and writing down tips. I figure I can do them at my pace later. Much more relaxing that way.
I'm happy with what I've learned so far. I'm looking forward to the turnabout tips tomorrow. Did you enjoy Lydia's? It seemed a little slower paced.

I totally messed up the Kristina cards because of moving too fast - and I only got partway through them anyway so stopped and just watched. And I just watched Lydia’s. I didn’t think Kristina seemed nervous, reminded me of her videos in general, but to let everyone keep up the instructors would have had to go so much slower I think it would have taken 2-3 times as long as they had.
I had wondered about that beforehand, especially after going to the 2-day event (but no kit) that Justine, Ingrid and Laurel had a few weeks ago - which was great, just very different.
I thought the flag part was great! lol

I'd bet a raccoon stole it. lol I thought it was two lobsters, but it’s one layering. Gosh, favorite flag is tough. Maybe Seaglass for prettiest/serene, really professional. But Honeysuckle cracked me up. And Oceanside for the rainbow? But they all made me smile/laugh. What about you?

Those cards are amazing! I like the subtle VW van colors and rust. (For some reason they didn’t show up for me last night.) You did them DURING class?! I couldn’t have moved that fast if my life depended on it. Have you watercolored before? I liked the cloud technique Lydia taught. And have you been in the chat? `Hope there’s less freezing today. I’m running late, helping a neighbor get some things for her sick cat.

I was able to follow Lydia much easier, so yes I finished painting with her and finished it to make it into cards in the break. I still have to finish KW first card I just did the watercoloring. We are ready for today. Cut everything up so hopefully less stress. I have done some watercoloring, but I'm not good at it , not practicing enough 😁 Have fun ladies! I'll check back during the day and hoping for less freezing too, the chat is too fast can't keep up with it.
