katybee love your journal! And gillyp I couldn't get the link to work either but I went to Ravelry and found it along with the Wolf! pattern. Super fun! Can't wait to see yours done. I don't understand why my Ravelry links don't seem to work. This is the second or third time one has not worked. I'm sorry. Yes, it does seem weird. Hmmmm? And is anyone doing the Spice of Life CAL? Not sure I want to do it but it could be fun!

When you paste the link into the link button, it automatically adds the https:// so you need to remove that part.

I’m doing Junk Journal July on IG again….here’s Day 1: I love your journal. I've decided to do JJJ too, I've only got the bare bones of a journal put together so far so I'll be somewhat behind all month!

One should be done tonight. Then I have my Happy Little Tree I am doing slowly as I have time so not sure I should start this but it could be fun.

Happy July fellow crafters! I took a peek at your lovely June projects from time to time but have been a little sidetracked following my DH's aortic dissection in May. Never did finish the Easter/market basket I started in April - I made a mistake in the handle weaving and need to go rip out a bunch and start over. Kinda made me lose my mojo with that one, but I'll get back to it eventually. Started a new basket yesterday - originally meant for my front door but the width right now at the top is only about 11" so I think it might be too small. We'll have to see when it is all finished. If I fill it with a lot of greenery it may work. I've not made one like this before so again teaching myself something new! Here's an illustration of finished Choctaw pouches from the pattern.

jennifercw hoping that your husband's recovery has gone according to plan and that things are getting back to normal at your house. Thank you so much malibou. His recovery from open heart surgery is going about as well as can be expected I think. So I would say we have settled into a new normal... But there is a small part of me that is constantly on edge - waiting on the other shoe to drop. His ascending dissection was "fixed" but they don't actually do anything for the descending dissection (his went all the way down to the iliac). As we understand it, that type of dissection is not considered emergent and he will be followed with CT scans for the rest of his life to watch for possible aortic aneurysms. And he is on beta blockers to control blood pressure of course. Anyway - more than you wanted to know I'm sure... In the end, we just need to go on living life and enjoying the time we have!

Most definitely not too much info. I would certainly feel edgy about that as well. Wishing and hoping that he lives out a long healthy life with you by his side.

jennifercw wishing you both all the best. Glad to hear that you have been able to get back into basket making again. P.S that edgy feeling I have too and so does my husband after 2 years. At first there is such relief , then afterwards worries about the future can set in, all the what if’s. There were times I would wake up with pure panic. I found it became less intense over time but always still at the back of my mind . You might find that those feelings flare up during annual scans whilst waiting for results. I think it is only natural. Hopefully you will find more and more days when you can relax and enjoy things .

seaexplore - Thank you! I feel like it is all I talk about everywhere these days. But it has been such a major part of our last 6 weeks... malibou - Me too! We're only 50 and there's a lot to look forward to. @ktc - Exactly. I almost feel like patients and their families in these type situations have varying levels of PTSD to deal with. jeremysgirl - Thank you. It is stressful for sure. But a little better each day. And now I'm back to my Choctaw pouch basket!

jennifercw don't apologise for talking about it! It will help you in the long run and you will feel less anxious. Best wishes to you both. jeremysgirl, brilliant. That orange with the black is great.

jennifercw, I know where you are. Take it a day at a time. My daughter will need another open heart surgery, and I have a chronic blood condition now that could throw a clot or turn into leukemia. I think my new frame of mind is to live each day to it's fullest. It has been a beautiful thing for me to do that. Praying for your family. jeremysgirl, looking good!

Going to finish this journal cover today. I just have to add the brown leaves that I will hand stitch to it.

I saw this quote today and thought of all you yarnies.
Knitting is like sex. If I like you enough, it's free. Otherwise, you can't pay me enough.
