phoenixcov love it. Are there charms hanging from where a purse chain might attach? If so, excellent idea.

Lovely bag phoenixcov! The sort of thing I would buy in a shop just because I liked it!

I made this hat for my cousin's 12th birthday. She's the disabled one and fell in love with alpacas when they visited a farm. I have a feeling that her little sister might have to have something similar too!

Alpaca funny.... my 9 year old was petting an alpaca at a farm we were at and it sneezed in her face (just a few alpaca boogies). She was so grossed out. Now she hates them. I still love them.

That's so funny! I think I'd be with her - yuck. My cousin is non-verbal (normal intelligence) and uses an eye-gaze computer to communicate. When she saw the alpacas her little face lit up and her eye-gaze said "I I want now" Yeah, that's not going to happen in a London back yard, so she'll have to make do with the hat. Thank you all!

You are making that? gillyp it's beautiful. I love the variegated against the black and cranberry. What colors will you set your blue/green variegated yarn against?

I have just finished another pair of socks. Try have been on the go for some time, as they are my ‘don’t need to think’ knitting, or when I have nothing else to work on. I am going to cast on another pair now with this lovely yarn.

Every month, I swear I am going to participate in this thread, but it quickly gets away from me and is pages long before I get to it. LOL I so enjoy seeing everyone's projects every month. jeremysgirl inspired me in my latest project. I recently went to Florida, and found a yarn shop in Destin where I purchased some yarn that reminded me of the Gulf water and sunshine, and I am going to crochet a shawl with it. I love that idea, jeremysgirl and plan to do it every time I travel from now on. So much better than souvenirs that always seem good at the time, but when you get home you wonder why the heck you spent your money on THAT. LOL I will try to post a pic of the yarn and a link to the pattern I bought a bit later when I have more time.

I dream of knitting socks one day. I tried once, it was a disaster, and I'm chicken to try again. I do wish that knitting socks was my "don't need to think" project. LOL I felt so clumsy when I tried to knit a sock and thought I was doing pretty decent until I realized about halfway down the leg part that I had somehow turned it inside out. This was about 4 years ago, and I never have tried again. I know, dumb. LOL It's just yarn, right??

Aww I love that Just T! A friend had told me that she goes to a LYS every time she travels and makes destination socks. I thought that idea was so fun. I've already picked out my yarn shop for my September camping trip. I can't wait to see what I find. I hope you enjoy yours too.

Just T destination socks sound fun. I have never heard of that before. I don't knit so I have never made socks. Fun! I am working on another journal cover. This one is for me. I want to use it for quotes once I am done.

I am going to cast on another pair now with this lovely yarn. Those are fab! How do you know to get the yarn pattern in the right place so that they match? Don't you have to waste quite a bit? Just T - I do that too, but I take my project with me rather than relying on buying something when I get there. So far I've made a baby coat in Zakynthos, and a pair of bed socks for my Mum and a couple of pan lid holders in Devon. I have the matching hob cover to finish next time we go back to Devon. I did also buy a ball of yarn in a LYS in Devon and that will be a project for another day - I'm thinking of socks too.
