@patter your journal is beautiful. I love the fabric cover. lainey I'm so glad your mojo is back. I love the color of your socks. Awe, thank you. I have TONS of fabric in my stash, and I have a massive stash of decorator fabric that I got free from a local furniture store. I want to start making more of these to give away. It's a great way to use up my stash from book pages to fabric! I went to the gym this morning with my bestie and gave it to her. She cried. So happy she loves it.

I am re-joining the craft world. Quit scrapping in 2014 and got rid of half my stuff. Over the past seven years been into building robots, Lego, Video Games and dabbled a bit in jewelry making.
A few days ago had the urge to make a layout. Holy cow, felt great and realized how much I missed scrapbooking. Layout came out great and cannot wait to do more. Still enjoy the other activities, but not with the the same intensity as scapbooking.

Chubby mermaids go on green shirt and chubby unicorns on pink. I would use something in a turquoise or bright blue on the mermaid and perhaps white on the unicorn. Even better if you have sparkly or iridescent vinyl.
They are very cute.

I think I might use that! Now for the colors... off to audition! Thank you. My 10 year old saw them and asked me to make her a cat....

gillyp - Thank you! I worry that some will think I am attention seeking. But when I talk about it and people listen, I feel validated and supported. It helps for sure. @patter - That's where I want to be. The truth of it is that none of us really knows how much time we have left. I don't want to spend that time worrying about it. Hugs for you and your daughter. And I love your journal cover!
The weaving for the Choctaw pouch is complete! I'm still not sure if it is big enough to use on the front door. Was thinking about adding some big white/cream silk hydrangea stems, greenery, and perhaps some birch twigs. Anyone have an opinion? Close up. I also have to finish it... I can't decide if I want to just stain the whole thing slightly darker or try a two tone effect similar to this inspiration photo. (not my basket/door) I'd probably do cream on the bottom and a stain on the top. Feel free to weigh in on that as well! Also - it just occurred to me that my first basket after DH's surgery is vaguely heart shaped! Guess that is fitting.

If you MUST paint it, I'd do a cream to match the house with natural at the top. Personally, I'd just put a clear or slightly tinted finish on it and call it good. I think it looks great on your door.

jennifercw Basket looks great. Can’t wait to see it with the flowers. Curious what the numbers/letters mean in the glass above your doorway?

seaexplore - I'm definitely conflicted on the paint part - I may save that treatment for some other basket. I have in my head that a stain might help hide dirt or protect the basket from the elements a bit more so I'm not sure I'll leave it totally natural. But I also don't want to go dark against the black paint. mnmloveli - Thanks! We participated in the 12th night/Epiphany tradition of chalking the door on January 5! The 20 and 21 are the year; the crosses are, well, crosses; the letters stand for the names of the three magi - Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar - and also the initials of the Latin phrase Christus Mansionem Benedicat - May Christ bless this dwelling. I'm not sure it "worked" this year but am keeping it up just in case things could have been WORSE without it! LOL

Love what you said about it. How fun! I might need to remember this for our church. I also can't wait to see flowers. Your baskets are amazing!

jennifercw thanks for the explanation on the numbers and letters . I think perhaps a whitewash on the basket and lots of beautiful, bright greenery. I also think the size is just right for putting flowers and greenery in it.

fabric journal - tick baby blanket - tick socks - tick tee shirts - tick basket - tick What lovely makes! I love this thread. jennifercw I'm going to go rogue and suggest a bright lime green or a sunny yellow for the basket then filled with lovely white blooms and greenery. I do love natural but I think this would look great as a pop of colour on your lovely door.

I finished the front of my skulls cushion and it can go in time out for now as I want to start something new. It was made with the left overs from the bat shawl which might not have been the best yarn but I like the way it looks. Before starting this I started a long line waistcoat/vest with the yarn I had got to do the Montana. This went into time out because the stitch on big needles was hurting my hands and I’m a bit meh about the way the cable pattern is with the break above the pocket. Now I’ve had a break from it, I like it again and will finish it at some point. I’ll do the back in stocking stitch I think, for speed and to save my hands. It’s a free pattern. www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/cabled-topper-with-pockets-in-lion-brand-wool-ease-thick-quick-l30251

jennifercw I love the basket and I really like the pic of the two tone one. I think that's an awesome idea. I like gillyp idea about lime green or yellow too. Would look pretty on your door. lainey I really like the look of that cardigan. What color were you thinking? gillyp the skull cushion is awesome. And I really think the rest of the bat yarn was a good choice.

In my mind that is a great color for you. I have a mental image of you with dark, slightly wavy, long hair and sparkling green eyes. Lol! I need a face in my head to go with my favorite posters.
