I am in charge of our Family Reunion in 2 weeks. I have called all my siblings to see what their feelings are about Covid and gathering. No one seems in the slightest worried but DH and me. Since we are in charge we have to go. It is stressing me. We will be outside most of the time, but will have to go in to dish up the food. I guess I am just a worry-wart, but I hate to be in charge of a Super Spreader. I would be worried as well. Just be sure you and DH wear masks when you are inside, and whenever you feel the need to do so. That is what I still do in certain places that I don't feel comfortable without a mask.

Just a quick note between family and garden. The three boys who were here had no time to make Olympic Rings and no need for suggested activities: they kept super busy inside and out. We went to town to watch the parade, but wouldn’t you know it; the skies opened up before we had a chance to do many of the planned outdoor activities there. The good thing was that the rain broke the heat wave, so nice temps outside here afterward. We had dh’s sister and nephew and wife over for supper Saturday night and we played Canasta.
Dd & family left Sunday after supper. Ds & family left mid afternoon today. I have harvested all the veggies I need for making mustard relish tomorrow. Found my jars and lids.
Wednesday the flight out is mid morning for a week in BC.
Going to bed early tonight. Will catch up on your news tomorrow.

grammadee , I hope you have a wonderful trip. Your mustard relish sounds wonderful. My mom's was always so good. Is your DH going with you to BC or does he need to stay with the garden? Take lots of photos and share with us when you come back. What a sweet time you will have. I'm sorry the rain spoiled your Olympics but I'm sure the rain was welcome for your garden. kellyr21 , when will you know if you were chosen to exhibit in the Art gallery? justjac , how is your DFIL doing? Is he still in the hospital? I am really enjoying the journal pages you are posting. They give me an insight into what a sweet person you are. I hope you keep sharing. maribeth , I love your Courthouse project. I love looking at the architecture of the buildings. They are so varied and stately. Your paper dolls are amazing. gramma and kellyr21, are you deep in smoke? We are getting the smoke from the northwest and we can hardly see the mountains behind us. I wish we could get lots of rain targeted on those fires. Linda, how are you feeling about the Virus spread in your area? Waving to all the Pokeys. I am hoping to get some housework done today and probably won't have time to scrap.

Here are my Sheetload cards for this month. I made 24 of them. I bought the paper at the Warehouse sale and I have lots of it so I made a lot. I figure you can always use birthday cards. Happy Birthday

nylene - I'm horrified but totally unsurprised by the cases numbers in my area. I'm more than a little worried about sending DD14 to school tomorrow but...she is vaccinated and will wear a mask but masks are not required here and I don't anticipate much mask useage at school by her peers. I need to do some housework also but I'm also hoping to scrap again tonight. I need to get an early night as DD14 will need to be up at 6am (her decision - bus comes at 723, although we are driving her tomorrow morning). We did a practise run of getting up and ready today - yawn. grammadee - sounds like you're making lots of memories. good luck kellyr21 - so exciting! Hello all

Happy Tuesday! It is hot today so just staying cool. I am working on some cards and this week plan to organize my Christmas card supplies. Also, I have been taking lots of virtual classes at M's this month. I took knitting and art yesterday and today is crocheting and painting. I am not trying all these crafts but just watching and enjoying the classes. I have been playing with jewelry this Summer, too. Here is a video I just released today showing these cute alphabet slider bracelets I made. So fun! Hope you check it out. Video Link HereAlphabet Slider Bracelets & Video by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- I hope all your planning for the family get to together goes well. PACE YOURSELF! LOL! I am sure it will turn out great. No fires here. We did see a small local fire here yesterday but very small. Not sure when I will find out if I made the cut for the art gallery but it would be fun if I did make it. grammadee- Wow, what a fun time you are having! After all the delay you are making up for lost time. So happy for you. I hope to start connecting next month with some local family. Oh, this pandemic has been tough on our relationships for sure!

Good luck with the art gallery, kellyr21! I hope you don't get too stressed about the family reunion, nylene. I know your planning will be wonderful. Hoping everyone has a good time and stays healthy! Your cards are beautiful. Hoping to leave love in the Gallery soon. If you are doing housework and thinking about crafting, I hope that means you are feeling better, Linda. And I hope you are all over your summer colds, kitbop! Not fun any time, but especially when camping. Dh was supposed to be going with me to BC but he has been dragging his feet about it as it gets closer. He hates to travel at the best of times, and has been having quite a bit of arthritis pain lately. The dr put him on pain killers and told him to rest. I told him a vacation would be more restful than trying to do work around the yard, but he dug in this afternoon so I had to cancel his flight. Dd had planned to spend the week here in blissful solitude to work to relax and recover from all the care giving she has been doing, and to start back on her PhD studies. Now she is saying she may not come, b/c having him here takes away from the solitude part. She may just check into a hotel instead. I still don't know who will be looking after the garden. But I know I am going to BC, flying out in the morning. Need to go finish packing and get some sleep.

kellyr21 - what fun bracelets! You've been having such a crafty time lately - I love that you're enjoying the classes even without doing all the new hobbies grammadee - safe travels. Sorry about the change of plans with DH. DD14 started high school today! We dropped her off this morning but usually she'll ride the bus. My days of sleeping in are over - the alarm went off at 6am this morning, yawn!

Linda, it sounds like your early morning rehearsal made this morning go smoothly. I'm glad you are feeling better and I hope she has a great first day at school. grammadee, I'm sorry your DH changed his mind about going, but glad you are going anyway. I hope your DD can find a quiet hotel to begin her studies again. She has had a lot going on. kellyr21, I will check out your video sometime today. I am off to shop for many of the things I need for the reunion. Hoping to have most of that done this week. I talked to my brother today and everyone still wants to go ahead with it. It looks like we will have 75 people. Have a great day everyone. We are having lunch with Lyssie today before she leaves for college. We will really miss her. She drops by often.

kellyr21 how exciting! I’m rooting for you! That’s awesome. I LOVE your bracelets! kitbop I’m glad you enjoyed your camping trip. I’m a newbie to the screens in the car too. And I love it! My vehicle seems so smart lol. It sounds like you had an adventure lol. nylene vent away! I’m trying to keep in mind that I AM fully vaxxed and my chances of being very sick are very low. I don’t understand people. I truly don’t. And I have no idea how this thing became political. We have a city mask mandate back in place and I’m grateful for that. I hope your reunion goes off without a hitch! And if it is a super spreader, that’s not on you (((((hugs)))))) I have had quite the crazy week. A power surge during a small storm over the weekend fried my modem for work. It took three days to get me fully functional and actually working. So yesterday was my first full day. One of my coworkers who is also remote lost power on Wednesday so that was two of us down. His power is back, but not his Internet. Last night a huge storm came through and took my power out. It’s still out. It hit pretty close to my building. I hope it didn’t fry my new modem 😬. So I have worked one day and now I’m down again. At least it’s not sunny today or 100 degrees. I’m going to match up papers and sketches and then print pics once the power is back. They have 4 trucks here now working on it lol. I really need to scrap again. It’s been so long. I’m ready for fall and online crops again. Safe travels grammadee! I’m sorry DD isn’t going to get that much needed solitude at the farm. I know this has been hard on her. Enjoy your trip! Rudy started school yesterday. And I didn’t get any pics . But he said he liked his teacher, made a little bit of friends (doesn’t know their names). Likes lunchtime because he gets to pick his own food and likes recess LOL. Linda, fingers crossed for your DD going back in that COVID hotbed. It has to be some relief that she’s vaxxed and I will be so so glad when the under 12 group can be too. I’m glad Rudy’s parents are onboard with his getting vaccinated as soon as it’s available to him.

Happy Friday! Guess what??? I was selected for the art gallery show!!! I am so excited and sort of frozen. I have dreamed of being featured in our city's gallery and can't believe it is happening already. It is a small city sponsored gallery that will feature I think up to 24 artist in this show. I still need to sign the agreement and get ready to drop off my art next month. The show will go from Sept. 10 to Oct. 15. I will take pictures and keep you all posted. Thanks you all for all your cheers and prayers. It means so much! joyfulnana- Hey girl! I hope your computer and modem are all back on track. Those storms sound intense. I am glad you liked my bracelets. So fun! linda- Yes, those online craft classes have been fun. I would like to try some of them at some point. nylene- Oh, I wish I was there and I would help you set up and shop for your family reunion. I know you will have so much fun when the day finally comes. grammadee- Safe travels!

joyfulnana - wow - I hope your new modem is okay and that you're all done with that bad luck for now. Glad Rudy liked school CONGRATULATIONS kellyr21 that is SO awesome! DD14 is enjoying school - likes her teachers, likes her classes, reconnected with a friend from elementary school, and has been 'adopted by an extrovert' from her class before lunch so has someone to sit with at lunch. I'm still really nervous about her being in school. One of the seniors passed away from Covid earlier this week (news broke this morning) and our county is #1 for per capita cases in Florida this week (and while it's one of the smaller counties, we're also #5 in total cases - not adjusted for population). And NO one was masking when I went shopping tonight except us - and the produce stocker who had a neck gaiter he pulled up when I asked a question. Our positivity rate is just shy of 40% - and our vaccination rates are low (30% both, 36% one dose)

I have hardly had a minute to get on this site. I have been getting the tires rotated, oil change, coolant checked, etc. for the trip to Idaho. I am also trying to make a bunch of rockets to have ready for the kids to shoot. The pieces are cut, I just need to glue and tape them all together. The shopping is all done except for the meat that has to be picked up Fri. I have been working on Christmas cards a bit and have a layout that has been sitting on my desk for almost a week. I hope to get it glued down tonight. kellyr21, I am so excited that you were chosen for the Art Show. What an honor for you. Wish I could come see it hanging on display! Linda, I giggled at the new kitty. It didn't surprise me a bit. Welcome, Paddington, to 2peas. I know we will see a lot of you. You are one lucky little kitty! joyfulnana, I am so glad that Rudy is happy in school. I'm sure he will have a great year. Do you have all the technology working now? I hope that has not put you so behind that you are working longer hours. grammadee, I hope you are having a wonderful time. It was fun scrapping with gramma on Sat. night. I miss all the regulars on the Online Crops. I will be glad when summer ends and we can get together more often. Oops, forgot to get the spare tire checked. On my way back to Big O.

My laptop started having issues at the beginning of July. My battery was saying it needed to be serviced. My Macbook is 3.5 years old and the battery wasn't holding a charge. We don't have an Apple store in my area so I took it to another apple certified place. The battery failed its test. I had gotten my laptop back in a few days. The first time I had time to use it, things didn't go well. It kept restarting and got to the point it wouldn't recognize the battery. I had to take it back and I finally got it back! It took them 3 weeks this time and had to replace the battery again. So far, so good! They did restore my laptop this time so I have been working on uploading my backup. I am still having drama related to getting my new garage door. I ordered it at the beginning of April and was told it would be several weeks out. I was told July 27th. At the beginning of August, I decided to call and found out the company that won't take my garage door down has it in their possession. 😡 I am still getting the runaround and still waiting on answers. I was hoping to talk to someone today since I am off work but it was her day off. Last I was told they are trying to hire an EPA certified company to take down and install my garage door. This is beyond frustrating. kellyr21, that is exciting you got selected for an art gallery show! linda, your kittens are cute!! I adopted my two kitties at the same time. They are sisters! I had never had two kittens at the same time but it is double the fun! They run and play together. Sometimes they will sleep together. joyfulnana, Yes, I am in MO and we have a lot of Delta variant strain. I am glad your test was negative! We have had too many Covid patients in the hospital and not enough beds for patients. The wait time in the ER has been crazy! I hope everyone is doing alright! I hope to check back soon.

knutschen, I hope your laptop is humming along correctly now. Having computer problems is so exasperating. I'm glad you have someone working with you on it. About the garage door, I am so sorry! You have been stuck in the middle of that problem for far too long. How long will it take to find an EPA certified co. who can do the work? You are being held hostage! I hope you can talk to the person who can get this going for you. The Covid uptick is making everyone nervous. Will this ever be undercontrol, I wonder. It's nice to see you checking in. I love seeing your avatar pop up! Keep in touch. School started here yesterday and Alex had a great day. He did say, "Mom, it's so long!" It will take a few days to get used to being at school all day.

Good Wednesday afternoon, Pokeys! How are your trip plans going, nylene ? And all your plans for the reunion? Hoping all runs smoothly and you will have time to relax and visit. Hoping your door and computer issues resolve, knutschen . I came home to a computer that refuses to be turned on. I need to take it into the shop on Friday. Grrrrr…. I hate it that electronics have become such an intricate part of our lives, yet remain so flighty. those kittens are delightful, Linda. I bet your dd is in heaven! I am home. Flew into Lloyd yesterday, then printed photos, met up with justjac , picked up ad paid for the pile of products that have been accumulating behind the counter for me at the LSS. Dh drove to meet me for supper for our anniversary, and happily, justjac and dh could join us for the meal. I didn’t QUITE turn into a pumpkin driving home, but was tucked up in bed not long after arrival. This morning I managed to unpack my suitcase and get into town for mail and groceries. Having a quick lie-down now, then off to check out the garden… Craftwise, August is getting away on me. I have a ton of fun photos, some great new scrappy supplies to play with. Just need to recover some energy first…. Am signed up for the Scrap Smarter event this weekend, so hope to get lots of inspiration there.

grammadee - welcome home! Was your trip good? Our anniversary is tomorrow...altho I don't think we've been married as long as you If you want to come check out my garden, it would probably appreciate it I've been lazy! Linda - I think you did the right thing by getting a new kitty now. We got #4 kitty when #3 kitty was 1 year old...and while they chase/play, sometimes it doesn't seem truly friendly, and I would NOT describe them as friends. I wish we'd got them more together. But that's not how cats come into our house! kellyr21 - Of course you got in!!! knutschen - one of the reasons I DON'T have a mac is the frustrating and expensive apple store! I feel like they have a monopoly on you once you have their product. Not that I'm not a slave to my iphone and ipad, but I drew the line at my computer. I'm sorry to hear you are still swamped with covid at work. We're getting "back to normal" at our hospital, although there are still always a few. It's a hard recovery after the ICU admission, yes? I've met so many people with weak arms afterwards - have you? I think it must be the proning . hi joyfulnana! I miss crops too, but it's been hard to commit to them this summer. Fall is coming so quickly and I do look forward to cropping with my peas. My biggest regret is not taking more photos this summer! While I have NOT been productive this summer, I have almost kept up with the scrapbook generations sketch class... I haven't done this week's yet, but I have done one in advance, so actually - I'm ahead!

Love your pages, MARIBETHR! My fingers are itching to do some playing with paper. Hoping to take part in several of the Scrap Smarter classes this upcoming weekend. Had a wonderful trip. Stayed in a very rustic cabin with no internet or cellphone service. If it had not had running water and electricity, I might have thought I was in my childhood home. Spent lots of time with my almost 11-yr-old dgd and her dad—my ds—and the time my ddil, two dgd’s and dgs that they could spare for me in a busy time. We ate at reastaurants, spent time at their “glamper”, went shopping, saw a movie, and the two oldest girls wanted to have a tea party to relive old times, so we did that, too. Came home with 200 photos to prove it! Could have scrapped some of them tomorrow (made chokecherry jelly today, and making stir fry with garden veggies for supper). But now I have to take my computer in to Best Buy tomorrow to repair it. oh well, guess I can print some pics that got lost in the flurry of printing on Tuesday.

You add me to the list of people with computer woes although I seem to have fixed mine relatively easily. My wifi adapter was slowly dying and I kept losing my internet connection. Decided this morning to just buy a new one online rather than wait and try and get in-person. Ordered at 8, was told delivery on Friday, and it showed up on my doorstep at 11. Got it installed and I'm back online. We've finally had a couple of days where the rain has held off until evening so I've been trying to get the yard mowed - it's so high and thick with all the rain and my cute blue electric push mower is struggling a bit. We have three batteries for it and I've been running them all down - yesterday I recharged them and went back out - today it was later when I started and they weren't recharged before the storms rolled. We have 1.3 acres. kellyr21 - yes, I think the older cats are happy that the kittens are entertaining each other and not trying to play with them. Mini (11) keeps trying to scrub the kittens - Dusty lets him for a little bit and then moves away and licks himself like I'm a big cat and can clean myself. Paddington is having none of it. nylene - you've been busy, busy, busy. I've gotten a tablet so will hopefully be able to join the crops now more easily. knutschen - what a pain with the laptop - glad that all is resolved now. If only the same could be said for your garage door - yikes that's been a process and a half. How old are your kittens? We've adopted littermates before several times but this is the first time with age-mates who aren't littermates. I was hardpressed to only get Paddington - his brother was super cute too but I was worried littermates would be bonded and not bond with Dusty (we had that before - Little Friend had kittens (we still have two of them - Mini and Tabby) and when they were 4 months old we found a stray kitten about 3 wks younger and they never did get along. Welcome home grammadee and Happy Anniversary! New scrappy goodies AND loads of photos - have fun! Hopefully your computer is a quick fix Happy Anniversary kitbop as well. MARIBETHR - love your pages esp. the Blue Apron ones - I like the repeating elements with the varied colours for the background/mats

Good Morning! OMG Linda those kittens are adorable! The shelter here has so many kittens,(I shouldn't look lol) and I want one so bad! I wish Abby would agree with that lol. But I would be in the same situation you are - needing two so they have a buddy lol. That's great that DD is liking school and got "adopted". Very cool. I would be very concerned about her being at school as well, your rates are horrible! And that's terrible about the senior. I worry about Rudy as well, but at least his district has mandated masks for everyone except vaccinated staff. grammadee I hope you recover your energy soon! You've been doing lots of fun things making memories and it sounds wonderful! But I totally get the way it saps you. I wish our energy grew as we aged, instead of waning lol. I still haven't scrapped a lick. I'm sorry you guys are having computer problems. Maybe I was a jinx? LOL. Mine is back and I'm back to work. Things are looking up there. We have a new hire and she is excited and looking for something permanent. Things are slowing down as well. I wonder how much of that is due to all the extreme weather all over the place. nylene I need to have all those things done with my car too. It's so hard to find the time to get it in! I hope your reunion goes well and everyone stays healthy. I know some of you ( kitbop ) are not wishing summer to be over, but I am sooo looking forward to fall. The weather is still beautiful, but life seems to slow down and I like it! I think September might be my favorite month. Rudy is loving school! He told me the other night has made three friends. "And I got my seat moved. Probably because I talk to Grant too much. It was good times" LOL He didn't enjoy school at all last year so it's great that he's excited about it this year. nylene that's too funny that Alex forgot how long the school day can be lol. I'm still getting lots of points for organizing the mess I make over and over getting ready for that crop next month lol. But everything will be done and packed, ready to go this weekend and then I can scrap! I have so many ideas floating around right now. Great job staying on top of that class kitbop!I printed out the first couple of weeks but haven't even attempted any of the sketches. I want to focus on the classes I have this winter. Heading up to see my mom today and help her set up her new computer. She's just techy enough to get herself panicked lol. Tomorrow Rudy will be hanging here while his dad has practice. So another busy weekend! Great pages MARIBETHR! You have me really wishing I had scrapped the Hello Fresh meals I was getting. I love the thumbs up and down! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ha ha, Linda, that was such fast service are you sure the CIA is not monitoring you? Or some foreign power? Just read a book where the people were being monitored (of course one of them worked at a highly secret munitions plant), and their clue to their in-home conversations being recorded was that their dishwasher broke down after a social function at their house; they called for service; the service truck arrived within an hour and repaired the dishwasher. A few days later the REAL repair people arrived, and found a bunch of wires behind the dishwasher! Of course it was bugging everything... My computer has been to the shop and back and it works!!!! And it is working faster and better than it ever has! Apparently it was hung up trying to do too many updates. The tech got it going, then cleaned out a bunch of stuff that automatically comes with the computer but that I don't use or need, including an anti virus program that slows down all operations. Also cleaned the touch screen and vacuumed out the fan. He also set up a system to automatically back up all of my photos monthly. He suggested that before the first Monday in September that I upload all my camera photos from my card and all of my iphone photos. Then on "back up Monday", the computer will copy all its current photos plus all of THOSE photos to a portable hard drive. The service was included in my Geek Squad plan, and my only cost was the new photo friendly drive. This weekend, I am enrolled in the Scrap Smarter Experience over at Scrap Happy. But hoping between videos to actually SCRAP!!!! This morning I cleaned up the mess created by taking out and returning my computer, and cleared both scrap counters. Seems like when I am NOT scrapping, those counters are handy dropping off points for any number of random objects and crap that doesn't really have a home. And I can't even blame it on anyone, cuz the culprit is ME. First up in about an hour is Shimmelle! Hope to check in here later...

joyfulnana - So glad that Rudy is enjoying school - that's so much easier for everyone. The kittens are so much fun. Right now I have both kittens and 3/4 older cats hanging out in my craft room with me. The kittens are running in and out, playing chase. Here they are yesterday - recharging. grammadee - woohoo for the computer being back and faster! I love the backup system! Enjoy the Scrap Smarter Experience! I'm scrapping this morning - working on Sketchy Saturday sketches
