Linda they are adorable! I think Abby is starting to really trust me and feels like she belongs here. She's been super lovey, but also getting bossy again trying to herd me to bed when she says it's time. And she's suddenly been grooming me and giving me love bites a lot. I can't believe I've had her nearly a year already. And I have a ton of layouts that need to be scrapped about her lol. grammadee hurray for fast computers! Especially when you have a weekend like Scrap Smarter! I've already heard tidbits about this weekend. It sounds great! I hope you enjoy it! I've got laundry/cleaning to do. I intended to spend a couple hours at Mom's. And I don't know what it is about the two of us, but we never run out of stuff to talk about. I usually call her once a week, and it's nearly always a 2 hour call. But the couple hours of visiting her turned into 6 and we were still both blabbing away as I was walking out the door to go home We have always been that way. Maybe because we are so much alike. But it was a good day. I thought about taking a selfie with her, and didn't. But she's getting up there in years and I would like to have some photos with her. So that will be top priority when I see her again. Cody and Rudy went to Comicon - attendance was very low this year, a friend of Cody's gave them three day passes because there were so many tickets available. Lots of celebrity cancellations as well. Which I do not blame them for. They came to show me all their loot once I got home. And I guess there may be another Covid outbreak in the office. Most of the people I work with have not been vaccinated. And nearly all of them have had the first strain. One of the guys actually tries to talk people into not getting it. I don't understand these guys. But I'm off to get these chores done before Rudy is here and hopefully continue packing for the crop next month. I know I am bringing waaayyyyy too much, but I would rather do that then run out of things to work on/play with.

Hi Pokeys. My FIL is doing well at home. He ended up only needing to be in the hospital for a week which was much shorter than anticipated. I head back to work tomorrow for two weeks of preparation before students start. grammadee and I met at the scrapbook store and then went for ice cream. That’s where we went through the box of goodies gramma sent us. We settled disputes as instructed by gramma. Later Dean and I went out for supper with Dee and Al to celebrate their anniversary.

Well, gramma, you told us to fight over them. And it was a cute GNOME stamp set! (Which SHE won ) The rest was divided as we took them from the box--with a little friendly horse trading--as you suggested. Thank you SOOO much! It was like Christmas in August! I have not yet put them away. Need to go through them again to see exactly what new goodies I have to play with. Need to make a bunch of cards this week, so that will be a good opportunity to give them a trial run. Sending good vibes to you, justjac, as you head back to work. Think of it as a way to earn money for scrappy supplie ... Yeah, I know, for food and mortgage and heat and light, but also scrappy supplies... Are you home from your reunion, nylene? How did it go? Hoping you had a marvelous time. Our last year's reunion plans were cancelled, and we were not quite ready to plan an event for this year in time for people to include it in THEIR summer plans. Linda, your kitties are adorable. I think you should have an album just for them! We had fun with our dgs's new puppy when she came here with them this month. And I enjoyed spending time with the gentle giants (burmadoodles) my ds's family have in their home. How are you doing, msliz? When I hear about weather issues on the Eastern seaboard I always think of you. Hoping you are tucked in somewhere safe and dry and that your yard does not sustain too much damage. Hoping your work stress tapers off soon, joyfulnana and that you can get back to relaxing and scrapping. Glad Rudy is happy with his school. Our dgk's will be going back, all in person, the first of September. Also have one going to in person University classes and one starting college classes the Tuesday after Labour Day. Excited to get his Junior A hockey schedule and he will be playing 2 1/2 hours away from us THREE TIMES before Christmas. I plan to be there to watch every one of those games! After a summer of heat and drought and sunshine, it has been raining here steadily for two days. Dh has gone to town to commiserate with farmers who were hoping to be harvesting today. I am putting pages together. Spent the weekend watching the classes in the Scrap Smarter Experience. Lots of ideas and inspiration. But feeling a little intimidated cuz of course what I do does not look anything like what the presenters did. Have two pages from the weekend, and a couple more two pagers on the go today. Okay, back to gluing...

Happy Anniversary to kitbop and grammadee ! Is this 53 years for you, Dee? And how many for you Kirsten? joyfulnana , I know you will have a great time at your crop. I will love to see what you learned and accomplished there. How wonderful that you could spend a day with your mother. I miss those days. I hope your new hire removes some of the load from you and that she works out well for you. I'm happy to know that Rudy is liking school and has friends. It makes such a difference. I look forward to fall and seeing you on the Online Crop. Linda , your little kitties are so cute! Congrats on getting a tablet. I look forward to seeing you on the Crops. I'm glad your schools are wearing masks. Most are not here. It really worries me. Is your DD enjoying school so far? gramma , I have finished 2 pages about our visit. I hope to get them scanned and posted today or tomorrow. It was like reliving our time together as I put them together. What a great day that was. knutschen , I hope your computer keeps humming along and that your garage door gets fixed before winter. This has been quite the ordeal for you. Take care and stay safe from Covid. MARIBETHR , I left you love on your scrapping in your gallery. I am enjoying your Blue Apron pages and all your paper doll creations. Are you doing any online classes this Fall? We need to get you on our online Crops too, before you take off and go RVing. grammadee , your time with your family sounds wonderful. I'm so glad you could get away and have that special grandma time. Glad you were able to travel safely. You and justjac will have a heyday with your new scrappy items from gramma . Isn't she just the best? kellyr21 , our neighbor picked up our mail and brought it over last night. DH and I laughed and laughed at your jokes. What a fun card. You have so much talent! What do you have to do for your art exhibit? I know sometimes they want a written description from the artist about the genesis of the painting. I am so excited for you! msliz, I'm missing you. I look forward to winter crops! We have had an eventful few days. I was awakened Thursday by a kidney stone. I was so miserable all day, but knew I couldn't take anything because I had to drive the next day. I think it finally passed that night, or moved to where it was not so painful. It also rained so heavily that night that DH had to sand bag the carport. We packed the car ready to go early the next morning but were prepared to take everything to my sister in SLC if I was still hurting. We had all the meat and the paper goods and drinks. Friday morning I felt much better so we left. We dropped everything off to my brother and made a trip up to our lookout on Mount Harrison. The treacherous road is paved all the way now and we enjoyed being there. A couple pulled up and took a photo for us. When I told them we were lookouts there 53 years ago and had to walk out in a terrible snowstorm this very weekend that summer, the wife went nuts and wanted all our stories. She said she couldn't wait to put this all on her Facebook page. LOL They were traveling from Michigan. Not sure how they found this little out-of-the-way mountain. Our reunion was nice except for the rain. We all (75) had to be inside for about 30 minutes, but then decided it wasn't raining hard so went outside to eat and the kids had fun on the slip and slide. It was just misting a little then. No one went into the river because of the cold, but no one seemed disappointed. I had a little pool for the smaller ones, but they seemed to have more fun filling their water shooters ($1 store) with water from the pool and chasing each other around. By 5 o'clock the weather had cleared and it warmed up. People stayed and visited until it was getting dark. It was nice to visit with everyone. I think all but the children were vaccinated, so hope we didn't host a "super-spreader". Waving hi, to all you Pokeys. It will take me a day or two to catch up!

I'm glad your schools are wearing masks. Most are not here. It really worries me. Is your DD enjoying school so far? most aren't wearing masks - DD IS - the governor refuses to allow schools to require them. Her Geometry teacher is out on quarantine as are many of her classmates. Two parents I know JUST got the quarantine notice fortheir kids for a contact the first week of school (11-13th) so that's obviously working well. I just keeping praying that the vaccine and mask will protect DD Paddington went to the vet today - apparently he is a she. We had deliberately picked a boy kitten since Dusty is a boy and I didn't want to risk more kittens before they get fixed. Dusty is scheduled for early Oct when he'll be 6m - the vet tech said Paddington will be scheduled when she's 6m also but google suggests kittens can get pregnant as early as 4m and honestly one of our other kitties (Little friend was only 6m when we got her as a stray and she had her kittens 11 years ago)

Linda , I guess I misunderstood. I thought your school was one who defied the governor's "knows better than the health dept and educators" mentality. I also pray she stays safe. Alex is one of very few masked in his classroom, because our politicians (legislature) also know better than health dept and educators. It's idiocy! I hope you don't end up with some more little kitties you aren't planning on.

I truly don't understand that at all. If I do end up with more kitties (we're going to do our absolute best to avoid that), my older two will be thrilled with a crazy cat people starter kit, lol. But really, I hope we get our regular vet tech next month and can talk about getting Paddington spayed sooner vs later

Happy Monday! We had a mini vacation! My dh was off on Friday so we headed to the beach and strolled around the little village there most of the day. This week, he will have Thurs- Mon. off for vacation. We are so looking forward to it. Summer is super busy for him so he needs the break and so do I! LOL! We will probably do a few local day trips. All of your cards are in the mail and I hope the Canadian cards don't get lost or take forever! LOL! Enjoy! Craft wise, I have been playing with these Julie Nutting doll stamps I got. I did a video tutorial and will post it this week. linda - Oh your kittens are so adorable! Glad they are having fun together. Hope your dd is safe, too. This whole mask no mask thing is so crazy how the states are deciding. Our county requires mask for inside stores etc for everyone vaccinated or not. But the county next door doesn't require mask for vaccinated! SMH justjac & grammadee - What fun you all had! Great to see your smiling faces! Happy anniversary to you Dee. Wishing you many more years of love. kitbop - How is work going these day? Oh yeah, what about your arm? Remember, last year I pulled a muscle in my arm? Well, it is finally almost back to normal. So crazy it took this long to be better. SMH But glad it is just about normal now. nylene - Yeah, your reunion sounds like it was a BIG success!!! So glad you made it through and enjoyed yourself. Hope your kidney stone leaves you along, too. Oh great you got my card! I was hoping you would share the jokes with your dh so he could enjoy them, too. Awesome!!! Yes, the art show is coming up Sept. 10. I am so excited and still can't believe it! I did submit my bio and the art's story in the application. I will keep you all posted on the opening night. Ron and I were talking yesterday about what we might wear and what to anticipate. It is a small city funded gallery so not sure how many people with be at the opening reception. But it will be fun to share my art and meet some of the other artist. joyfulnana - Glad your Rudy is enjoying school! So happy kids get to be back at school after a year of quarantine. I can't image how rough it was for the kids and parents to all be home. Whew! Hope you are hanging in there with all the stress and illness at work. Be safe my friend and hope you get to scrap more soon. maribeth - I sent a card to you and all the Pokey Peas last week. I used your PO Box. I hope that is still your address. Also, your layouts look great! knutschen- Waving hi!

my older two will be thrilled with a crazy cat people starter kit lol spitting coffee at my computer screen! And considering you are tying to make the 2 of them life-long buddies, you don't want to separate them too much right now. At least Paddington is a good size...maybe they can get her fixed "early" for you. I'm glad your DD is wearing a mask and fingers crossed the bugs choose easier targets! nylene - yikes on the kidney stone! That sounds like a rough night, and it sounds like you have some experience with them too I'm so glad it didn't ruin your plans and your family reunion day. It sounds like a lovely family day, well needed/deserved after our pandemic year. I can just imagine the kids with their water squirters. My kids were the same. Actually, if you gave them water guns now, they'd still have a blast! I remember Easter about 10 years ago, it was unusually warm, and the kids took 2L pop bottles out of the recycling, filled them with water, and used those to squeeze/squirt/blast water at each other until they were all soaked. DH and I celebrated 26 years this year. Our gift to each other was our new car. We aren't big on celebrations. We are NOT party people. grammadee , that means next year I'll have been married for half the time of you (27/54). Huh...it feels like I've already been married a long time! justjac and grammadee - you guys opening that box gave me wonderful "feels"! So much fun! joyfulnana - I'm really glad Rudy's off to a good start. Boo to your office, yay to a coworker, and I'm envious of you having a mom you enjoy chatting with! You definitely need to scrapbook the unintentionally long chats. My Mom and I aren't terribly compatible... she tells me I'm the "wrong" personality and I need to change it. We are just amazed at how fast time is speeding by right now. Katie had her last dance "competition" on Saturday in Niagara Falls. There were lots of tears as it is theoretically her last ever, but we'll see if she chooses to do a few numbers next year even tho she's in university. For all the stress and work of dance, it's also a close family. Editing this because kellyr21 jumped in while I was typing and because nylene posted a most adorable layout while I was typing!!! nylene - I LOVE that doodlebug line and now I need you guys to come scrap with me so I can make a cute page too!!! kellyr21 - I checked my mail today but no card yet. I'm so glad your arm is better! Mine is never going to be 100%, and it pops/grinds if I move it wrong, but other than that it doesn't hurt me. Isn't it amazing how the human body can heal itself? I remember in physio school they told us that often people would think they needed PT to get better, but really they just needed to be patient with their body. Sometimes I think going to PT when you have an injury just helps prevent undue losses, and helps put in time while your body is doing it's job!

MARIBETHR , I left you love on your scrapping in your gallery. I am enjoying your Blue Apron pages and all your paper doll creations. Are you doing any online classes this Fall? We need to get you on our online Crops too, before you take off and go RVing. I am planning on signing up for Kraftin Kimmies retreat set for October 29-31, The Paper Cut as a week long event scheduled for September 21-26 which I will be signing up for but will be camping that weekend so I hope we have signal and I can participate live, but if not they will be recorded. Then as always the every other Friday night class with Stamplistic, and then the New Years eve marathon 12 hours of card making with Stamplistic. That's all I have on my plate so far. I do need to attend one of the online crops. You need to nudge me via text message so I know when you are getting on one, do you still have my cell number? Have an awesome day. Posting my latest courthouse layouts momentarily.

Have a wonderful Stay-cation, kellyr21! Those "last's" are so bitter sweet, kitbop. So often we focus on the "first's", but those transitions away from what has been a huge part of our lives are tough. And they sometimes hit us like a runaway train. And this is your youngest... And your girl... ((((HUGS)))) to you, Mama, during this transition. MARIBETHR, I am always impressed with all the different looks you can create with the same basic design. Your pages are always so clean and neat. Not at all like mine LOL! I posted the three two pagers I put together this weekend in the Gallery and linked them to the Sharing Thread. Still not happy with how they photographed. The sun is peeking out this morning, but obviously I needed better light for these. Maybe I need to bite the bullet and pick up one of those photo boxes like justjac has.

Thank you, it is getting to a be a challenge that is for sure. But I have resolved that some of them can look alike, this project is really more about the photo than the page. I am envious of your style, it is hard for me not to be so orderly in my scrapbooking. I am a bit less orderly in my ATC's, but no much - LOL. Oh well I will keep trying.

MARIBETHR, I think you have a great style. I am really enjoying the variety in your courthouse pages. It sounds like you have a lot lined up for Fall in the scrapping dept. I hope you have a great time and share everything with us. Where are you headed camping in Sept? kitbop, I agree with grammadee, that sometimes those "lasts" are very hard. I hope the girls in her dance group stay in touch and get together when they can. I remember our last Fashion Revue in 4-H as my last DD modeled her wool suit. She was friends with all the other contestants and had traveled and competed with them since she was 7. It was hard to say goodbye. For me, it was the last of 18 years of having a DD in a Fashion Revue. It's tons of work, but I really miss it. I hope Katie does great at the University. grammadee, your pages are wonderful. I especially love the ones of your DGD in nature. Thanks for setting up for Sketchtember next month.

That gives us the most bang for our buck we have found. Plus with all our cats to tend to we don't want to leave them alone for an extended period all at one time. We have several campgrounds in the area that are about 3 hours away from home that we tend to gravitate toward. We will watch the weather and fire conditions and determine N, S, E or W is our best option when it is time to head out.

I'm WAY behind on commenting here and will try to catch up. kellyr21 - thank you for the lovely card and jokes - definitely brightened my day! That was so sweet of you. I'm glad that you and your dh are getting some vacation time together - enjoy! nylene - love that crafty layout with you and gramma - great photos and I love all the embellishments! I hope you feeling all better from the kidney stone - they are SO incredibly painful. I'm glad that it didn't ruin your reunion plans and nor did the rain. Sounds like a lovely event! kitbop - Happy Anniversary! You guys sound like us - we don't do big celebrations either! (((Hugs))) - the lasts are hard sometimes. MARIBETHR - great courthouse layouts - what got you interested in this project? It's really neat! gramma - awwww! What a sweet precious new baby! Congratulations! DD21 started back at college (online from home) on Monday - she seems to like most of her classes so far - one she's not too keen on the professor based on the syllabus but...it's a prerequisite for one of next semester's so...she's stuck. This is supposed to be her senior year but she'll need to do a super-senior year next year since she changed majors. DD14 is liking school except for her health/PE class but her teacher is new and there seem to be some settling in happening so hopefully once he finds his feet, she'll be happier. She didn't like her art class at first but she seems to be enjoying it now. Her favourite class is Humanities where she is only 1 of 2 freshman. Despite DD14 being gone all day (bus comes at 720, she's home at 430) - I still seem to be very busy during the day and I'm struggling to settle into a routine that includes crafty time every day. I have paper sitting on my desk that needs to go through the Cricut for my next layout and it's been there since yesterday with no progress.

Good evening, Pokeys! Congratulations, gramma! What a sweetie! His photos will fit nicely in his sweet baby book. Had a busy day today with my dsil making borscht and beet pickles. Then came home to pick cucumbers for some friends I am meeting tomorrow morning after my B-12 appointment. Will catch up tomorrow. Right now I have a headache and my bed is calling my name...

Oh my goodness! Congratulations gramma! So sweet! nylene and gramma I just love that spread of the two of you together. I love it so much! I'm so glad the reunion went well nylene! Ahhhhh those $1 water pistols. We had so much fun with those when we were kids. grammadee and justjac I love the arm wrestling lol. Too bad one of you had to lose out on the gnomes. Linda I have that same problem when I take a day off. I don't quite know what to do with myself, and then the day gets away from me. LOL @ crazy cat person starter kit!! I hope you don't end up with more kittens. I have to say kellyr21 I'm really envious of you leaving near the ocean. I could sit and watch and listen to it all day. Also happy belated anniversary to you grammadee and kitbop! kitbop I have three sisters, and one of them struggles to get along with Mom. I don't want to call her the odd one, but she does have a different personality and she and Mom just get wires crossed a lot when it comes to communication. I do have to pick my times to call her, I have to be sure I have 2 hours to give lol! MARIBETHR I hope we'll see you in the online crops soon! I hope we get them started again soon. Work is getting much better the past week. I'm happy for that, getting back to a little more normal ebb and flow. I fell in love with the week 16 sketch from the Allison Davis class and pulled papers last night to start that LO. It's so hard to get started when it's been so long. Rudy's parents were told to keep an eye on him, he was possible exposed to Covid. That has been my biggest worry about school starting. I hope they can get the vaccine available soon for the little kids. I hope you all have a great Thursday! The weekend is almost here!

MARIBETHR - great courthouse layouts - what got you interested in this project? It's really neat When I was a teenager my dream was to photograph every county courthouse in America (well not Hawaii because I don't fly or do ships). However as I have grown older I had to realize I was unable to include the extensive travel I had dreams of when I was young. Therefore with the inception of social media I thought I could reach out to others to take a photo of their courthouse and send it to me. That didn't really work out either, I have gotten a few but not enough to keep the project going. There are several people who have already taken all or many of the courthouse photos and they have them online, I reached out to ask permission to use their photos for my project and I only received one very stern NO! The others have all been kind to let me use their photos. I still love to get photos from others and in a crafty group on FB there are a couple of ladies who do road trip often and they always think of me and send me photos.

I'm sorry that your travel plans didn't pan out but I'm glad that you've found other sources for the photos. How are you for Florida courthouses - if you're missing one in my county (Columbia) let me know and I'll try and get a photo

I'll keep an eye out for nearby courthouses also.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I like to include photo credit on my pages so if you have a little snapshot of you that I can do a thumbnail size photo please send that when you send the courthouse photo.
