So I have some screenshots of memes and stuff that I want to include in my album.
Some are from my phone, some from my computer. A couple square, a couple rectangle, one is a text thread that's very vertical.
Any suggestions on how to make a page from these?
The easy way out is to print them out and back them with paper and turn them into tags. I could put the tags in the fabric pocket that I made to Prep. That's one way to do it.
Would love your thoughts.
I'm done up to day 5. But now I have to deal with the back of day 5 to make day 6 and that is always where I get stuck.

Why do anything? Put some pretty paper or a quote back there and start day 6 fresh on the other side.

Maybe a collage of all of the different shapes and sizes on one page? Krystal Idunate has done some pages in a tn spread where she used different sizes and shapes of tags in different colours and it looked great!

A couple square, a couple rectangle, one is a text thread that's very vertical. "Tags" was my first thought. The text thread you could fold sorta accordian style, but longer so you could do a pull tab on it? Like, if you want it to be a 2x3 rectangle, you'd cut it to be 2" wide, then score it every 3" (or whatever) then attach the very bottom to the page and then pull it to read it all. I'm so jealous of everyone putting pages together because my photo order took the slow boat and still hasn't arrived... I can usually wrap this project up early, early January because I stay on top of it, but looks like it'll be more like February.

The windows I’m thing of are like the ones Ali sold this year for DD. She only had the digi file still up but you can see what I mean: aliedwards.com/shop/december-daily-2021-digital-window-cards

I MADE IT HOME BEFORE COMPLETE DARKNESS TODAY, YAAAAY! (I hate this week. I can't wait for Friday night.)Linda and others who followed the Catholic Advent candle discussion in this thread last week: read the spoiler if you want to know the shenanigans I got myself into today. It wasn't pretty. I went into churches today to check the colours of the Advent candles. First, I hopped off the bus to look what they had burning in the big gothic church of my city, walked up the stairs, pulled the door open and bam, someone hurried towards me asking which side of the family I wanted to join. Turns out I walked into a baptism. Oops. I apologised and turned around. Got back on the bus and completely forgot about my Advent mission. Went to the grocery store, got a big bottle of laundry detergent and whatnot, filled a blue IKEA bag with groceries and started to walk back to my building only to remember as I was passing my neighbourhood church that I could check there. Alright, in I went. Not my day for church visits or something because there was a row at the back filled with nuns praying and me just trying so hard not to disrupt as I made my way to the front of the church. Darn my boots making that squishy "new sneakers" noise on the stone floor. And my IKEA bag letting out crinkly yelps with each step. It was all very unholy. I sat down on the front row bench since I didn't want to squish the groceries through the benches. Just imagine the sisters at the back praying, me with squishy soles and a bag filled with laundry detergent, fish (at least that's Jesus-y ), 3 kg of oranges (they were on offer!) and then the freakin' red cabbage rolled out of my bag and I had to slide off the bench and crawl to go catch that little dwerpy dwerp akwardly rolling towards the EXACT middle of the church in front of the stairs leading to the altar. LADIES, WHAT THE ACTUAL CAPITAL F. It's a good thing I was pretty embarrassed at that point or I would have burst out laughing at the absurdity of the situation. Mr. Bean-levels of comedy. *shakes head* So, of course, since I was feeling pretty embarrassed of having made such a spectacle of myself, I stayed sitting there for at least 5 full minutes to pretend it was totally worth disturbing all these sisters. Gotta say, old churches are pretty neat places to relax so I took it as a form of meditation... When I left, several of the nuns turned towards me and bowed their heads in some sort of respect/greeting (I have no clue). I just awkwardly bowed back and of course, that caused the IKEA bag to make an even louder crinkle sound. AH GREAT! All that was missing... MORE NOISE! Anyway, I got my answer outside because a volunteer (I think?) was taking a smoke break (ah, France) and thanked me for stopping by during Advent (I didn't dare say I was an atheist) and so I asked what the Advent candle colour habit was here. She said that most churches in Provence tend to follow the traditional Roman white but don't necessarily do a wreath. The big white candle in front of the altar surrounded by white flowers that I'd seen was actually this week's Advent candle. They bring out all 4 on the final Sunday. Apparently, you'll get the pine wreath with red candles the closer you get to the German border. She wasn't sure which regions in Europe specifically followed the multi-colour tradition with the pink and/or purple but she definitely knew of it and its significance. Alright, I did my part. It was not comfortable but hopefully the nuns will have gotten a good laugh out of it.

DECEMBER 8 Throwback //Photo prompt: Use the present to take a walk down memory lane. December is also a time of traditions and memories. How can you photograph the impact of the past in present-day life? Think of old family recipes you still prepare for the holidays, of pets who've crossed the rainbow bridge but remain present through a special ornament or photo on the mantle, vintage china you were handed down that is used for Christmas dinner, a tradition upheld in the honour of a passed loved one. Perhaps your time travel adventure takes you somewhere else this year like visiting a local monument or signing the family up for an old-timey carriage ride through town (I've been watching Hallmark movies). Story prompt: "Then and now" Contrast Christmas past with Christmas present. It's the perfect opportunity to include a copy of a vintage Christmas photo into your December album and compare it how a similar scenery/event looks like today. It can also be a great opportunity to reminisce on Yuletide habits from before Covid-19 times. If you're using instructions from the past, snap a photo of the handwritten recipe or old magazine article you're still faithfully referring to today. This is also your perfect excuse to gather the fam' and recreate a favourite holiday family photo you've always loved. You can totally blame me and say it's your scrapbook homework. Song of the day:

Hey everyone! I’m just checking in having not checked in for a month or so! We got out of lockdown here in Melbourne, Australia and to say I’ve been overwhelmed is an understatement! We went from doing nothing in our homes to omg it’s December and how did this even happen! I haven’t finished DD 2020, I haven’t started DD 2021 but I’m hopeful for some calm in the next few days to sit down and get sorted. First I need to write my Christmas cards as all my plans to post those back in November went out the window. Urgh!! Anyone else feeling the chaos and wishing for time to slow down for a bit?

Got some more pages done! Title page: Love how you played off the backgrounds showing through with your transparency. The "JOY" side with all the white and those dainty foiled snowflakes, the red inside cover side with the red tinsel on the roof. Very nice! So I have some screenshots of memes and stuff that I want to include in my album. Some are from my phone, some from my computer. A couple square, a couple rectangle, one is a text thread that's very vertical.Any suggestions on how to make a page from these? I'd probably make a grungy city wall out of these and adhere the photos of the memes down anarchic style, like flyers and concert posters hung hastily. There was a trend in scrapbook papers recently with white-painted brick patterns so I'd just use one of those papers and download a graffiti font to spell out "Meme-rry Christmas". I'm so jealous of everyone putting pages together because my photo order took the slow boat and still hasn't arrived... I can usually wrap this project up early, early January because I stay on top of it, but looks like it'll be more like February. Oh no, so sorry, dawnnikol! I've had a few parcels moving super these past few days as well. I hope your photos make it to your doorstep real soon. The stars were truly My 'Squeaky' Boots, IKEA the Tote Bag and Red - but actually purple - Cabbage (AKA Chaotic Neutral). *tips beret* Haha, what an awesome story, I hope you're putting this in your DD!! Gotta fit it in there somewhere... Probably hidden journaling though. Also, 3kg of oranges! Good work! 1,49 € for 3kg of fresh Valencian oranges, couldn't leave them! Mimosa, anyone? The AV Club has decided on their best holiday songs of 2021 and you can listen to them here! I've not sat and heard any of them yet. There's a couple of really sweary ones, just FYI Oooh, thanks for sharing! There were a few on there I hadn't heard yet. Really surprised that Drunk on Christmas by Darren Criss and Sometimes Christmas Is Hard by Wrabel didn't make the cut. Anyone else feeling the chaos and wishing for time to slow down for a bit? Honestly, besides work, not really. I need December and the holidays to cheer me up a bit to make it through this very, very cold season (freezing air from Lapland descended all over Western Europe two weeks ago and ugh, I'm hating it). I'd probably be wishing for way more hours in the day if it were summer though... I hope you can fit everything you want to do into your schedule and also find some time to relax. Enjoy the lovely weather for me! Ha ha! Look what my dgs hung on my tree last weekend! What an unexpected plot twist, grammadee @sunnycamom!

First I need to write my Christmas cards as all my plans to post those back in November went out the window. Urgh!! Anyone else feeling the chaos and wishing for time to slow down for a bit? Totally! I'm not having a good day (sorry in advance for bitching). I forgot how badly I need to have everything done before our Thanksgiving trip - I lose at least a week, if not two, when we come home and I totally bit off more than I could chew with the great declutter-the-in-laws-place this month. So much for taking a break over Christmas... I'm trying to convince my brain that everything is ok and I'm not failing, but I really wanted to sell enough furniture that we could all sit around the table comfortably. I think I have my most important things taken care of. Except Christmas cards. I don't have to worry about cards or gifts to NZ family though. I thought maybe UPS/FedEx might have a way to get a small package to them but at $150-215 for a 2lb package I don't think so... So I will be sending digital greetings. And now SIL wants to plan something for Xmas Eve that isn't at her mom's house or in a restaurant where people might not be vaxxed (they don't check that in our county). So I offered to host for a basic Japanese dinner and movie night. That should be interesting. Her mom usually bails on Xmas a few hours or days before the gathering, depending on how her mental health is doing, and lately it's been very bad, although the depression is tamping down the paranoia that we're stealing from her - which is good...? gah. Everything is fine! It's only the 8th! The pressure is all in my head! BTW I'm reading Everyone in this Room will Someday be Dead and the narrator, who is an anxious gay atheist pretending to be a Catholic, learned about the pink and purple Advent candles. I believe the book is set in Canada because she mentioned Kraft Dinner.

I love the Krampus and am super bummed I missed our Krampus fest here last weekend. Fortunately our favorite local restaurant has a Krampus statue and Krampus themed drinks and we will be there next week for a craft night. We will be making blood stained glass ornaments a doll head tree topper and a felt Krampus doll. Should make for interesting layouts in my December memories album!

Marking a spot where I can list what I want to do for when my album comes...hopefully a day early on Monday! It is close by. December 1 will be about DD's IgG infusion. December 2 will be about our outdoor decorations. December 3 will be about new ornaments December 4 will be about Michigan wining the Big 10 Championship. December 5 will be about My Peanuts Funko Pops. December 6 will be about our Christmas wish lists. Thanks to all of the Krampus responses and descriptions US and European peas, note we DO NOT celebrate anything like this in Australia 😁 Hopefully your album comes soon, I’m still waiting on a delivery from October to arrive! And I’m so happy to see all the peanuts nods in albums this year…I even saw a YouTuber who had included a book in her dd. Now that I’ve started I can’t stop! There are little Woodstock’s with Christmas hats floating in almost every page. I have a picture with a Woodstock when I was first born at the hospital and the obsession with snoopy has only grown from there…. We may not celebrate it here but my husband is always telling the kids Krampus will come if they aren’t careful! I’m in Melbourne.

I don't think there was much about Krampus in the US before that horror movie came out a few years ago. That's when I learned about him and started noticing him. Totally! Has anyone made a lift the flap page using an actual photo? I took a photo of one of my kids’ stockings on a white background. I want to fussy cut around the stocking and put journaling behind the photo. Not sure if I’m better off completely cutting the photo and using a hinge or if the photo paper will score well enough. Thoughts?

Thoughts? I have tried doing cardstock and then doing the fold after I adhere the photo. I don’t like it. It’s too thick. Now I do a thinner piece of cardstock folded and then cut the photo to do the flap or a hinge.

DECEMBER 9 Glow //Photo prompt: This is the month of twinkle lights, long nights, specks of glitter and candles. It's the perfect opportunity to capture a twilight portrait of your town's Christmas lights, Christmas market or the exterior of your house. Also think less literally: glow-ups with special clothes and makeup for a night out or your current skincare routine to help you get that healthy glow. Creative prompt: Create a glow effect one way or another. Do you have some glow-in-the-dark embossing powder? Maybe you can make a glowy peek-through overlay using vellum. Journaling with a white pen on black cardstock also gives a glowing impression. Song of the day:
