Working in a 3x8 album has made me a minimalist this year 😁 I did this size last year and really enjoyed it. I'm going for 4X8 next year. It was just hard at first to remember to take lots of vertical photos. There is a facebook group called "Small Size Album Inspiration" with some great layouts. It was 3X8 then they changed the name to include the 4X8s. But I haven't figured out a way to share photos in this group without posting them to instagram first.

would love to post progress pics but I’m not on Facebook or Insta 😞 But I haven't figured out a way to share photos in this group without posting them to instagram first. One option is a free flickr account. You can set it up to be private if you prefer and just use it to share here. Booty and I can give you the steps for sharing from a private account. Some people post photos privately on Fbk and can share from there too. Taking photos to share is a bit of a drag, especially when you're busy, especially when the days are so short. My house is always dark these days.

I got my 2020 Christmas trade book from blurb in the mail today. It's not bad, maybe even pretty good. I've never done one before so I wasn't sure quite how it would turn out, but I like it. The paper and photo quality is nice even though it's not a photo book, and the little Christmas lists and nonsense inside turned out well. I was considering putting two years into one and I think I could've - it isn't very thick. I got the image wrap hardcover and I think it might've actually benefitted from being fatter - it's a bit stiff to page through. But it's good! Good motivation for me to finish 2019 and start 2021. I'll try to post some kind of flip through or at least a few photos of it later this week.

Skipped a day to day 10. Working on 9 today. I made the tag in PSE using a free Clipart of a dinosaur. The paper is one of the wrapping papers. http://instagram.com/p/CXfnn-uL_Pr

DECEMBER 15Circle //Photo prompt: Circles have no beginnings or endings and represent unity and life. Look around you to spot one of these today. Can you link it in some way to the themes this shape symbolises (community, commitment, lifecycle)? Is it perhaps your wedding ring by the sink as you wash your hands upon returning from the store #pandemiclife? Is it the shape in which you've disposed the gifts under the tree? Is it your pet curled up in your lap? Is it the wreath on your door that welcomes people into your home? Is it your daughter's hairbun for her dance recital? Is it a vintage bauble you've carefully hung on the tree? Circles are everywhere, you just need to look for them. Creative prompt: Think circle(s)! Can you do something circular you haven't done before? Journaling inside a circle perhaps? Create one of those cool large half-circle die-cuts? Identify elements in your photo by using large colourful circles? Take a photo that includes as many rounds and circles as possible? Build a circle Christmas tree with scraps? Song of the day:

Ok, so this December is going to be interesting. I was so gung-ho for the season, I was ready to put my tree up with aaaallllll the decorations way back in October (that was 65 million years ago now!!!) I still want to do aaaaalll the things, but I'm so fricken exhausted. I can see my album this year. 1 Dec - pretty tired 2 Dec - still tired . . 10 Dec - feeling exhausted . . 13 Dec - interestingly, feeling like I could sleep for 50 thousand years and still need a nap . . 15 Dec - well these PJs make a good change from the other PJs seriously - what is with this year?? it's like anything remotely fun has fallen into the 2021 vacuum which is dedicated to sucking anything good and fun right out of the atmosphere. Oh - and my knowledge of the greek alphabet probably could be included in the album this year too!!!! It's been a pretty weird year scrappydo. I'm absolutely exhausted and hanging on for the 23rd our last day at work. Wth so many events being cancelled this year it's hard at times to summon up the enthusiasm to work on my album.

My album is going in fits and starts because work has been so frantic with lots of 12 hour days. So looking forward to my 3 week break! This year has been a much worse one for us Covid-wise than 2020 with more lockdowns and disruption so I think that's affected my mood as well. A lot of events cancelled this year - particularly the markets I enjoy going to, the lights displays and work functions and we're still working from home so I really haven't been out and about much.
My work team of 4 did meet up for a Christmas lunch on Tuesday though, so that's definitely going in the album!

Nothing in my album is done, I don't start until after Christmas. But I am bursting with ideas. So many ideas. I may need 2 albums. Very excited to start on it for real.

My work team of 4 did meet up for a Christmas lunch on Tuesday though, so that's definitely going in the album! It must be exhausting... We're all exhausted in the US after 2 years of nonsense and disruption and we've hardly even had that much (seeing as most of it was half-hearted and voluntary). Somehow this year was just as exhausting as last even with so many of our restrictions lifted. I can't imagine how you guys are feeling having things worse now than they've ever been. I know my family are very sick of being locked up in Auckland and frustrated. My mother was thrilled to finally be allowed a haircut last week - she doesn't feel like a ponytail person. I resorted to sending my Liz T calendar files to their local photo shop to be printed which turned out to be very easy and not too horrendously expensive. The folks are happy with the results, were able to pick up 2 days later, so I think I'll continue to do that from now on. Supports their local economy too. I hope you make it through the last days of work and enjoy your break even without the fun holiday events.

It feels like forever since I have been here (super busy at work), but I have zero pages done either, everything is journaled, photos taken (sitting on memory card) and I am A OK with that :-).
Loving all the pages posted!

There are two slightly different methods depending on whether the photos are set to be public or private. Happy to help with either

except the digital file is still $15. That is a pricey file. I looked and all of those digital kits are the same price. Definitely seems high. It is a lot of stuff but I usually only want a couple out of any set. With physical product I know I can always do something with it. But with digital, it will just sit there. It's a cool page. It's a rainbow though. I'm sure you can scraplift it without the file. I think it would be faster for me to cute it out by hand than to figure out how to use my portrait again. Ha! That thing is a pain.

@northrigg swipe on my Instagram post. I actually forgot about this file. I saw a free tag download on Insta and went to the poster's site to grab it and actually really liked her shop. I bought some papers she had and this huge rainbow was one of them.
If you like it, let me know and I'll figure out where it came from when I get home. The file is on my laptop.

I really like how you did the inside covers! Is this to cover up the stickiness of that spray you used?

I really like how you did the inside covers! Is this to cover up the stickiness of that spray you used? Thanks! Yes, I had to cover the inside back because it was pretty much ruined. I tried to paint and it was unsuccessful. But I love the rainbow paper. I used a sanitizer wipe (mostly alcohol) and got the sticky off the inside front and the rings. But it wouldn't take paint or stamping or anything because it was so shiny. So I went simple. Some of my pages are pretty busy so I'm glad I made that decision.

I think alot of people are feeling the exhaustion for alot of different reasons this year. Where things have opened up, we are afraid to plan for fear the events WILL be cancelled, as they have in the past. The organizers are afraid to go all out planning, so events are smaller and for some of us "don't feel quite right".
Is it like childbirth? Agony at the time, but then we remember the glory of meeting the baby? Have we always been tired at this time of year, then forget that when we recall all the fun we had? And it has been a full two years since our last "normal" December. As we frantically try to bring everything back to normal, did we forget all the little glitches that happened then, too?
Oh, and we definitely need to document the Greek alphabet! Had never heard of Omicron before!

Photos are set to private 😁 step by step would be great as I am not a social media sharing things online kinda gal so have no previous experience! Sure, this is my method of sharing so I'm happy to help. Once you've logged in, go to your Camera Roll by selecting it from the menu that will show when you click on "You". Select the photo you wish to share by expanding it (clicking on the upper right corner). When it has expanded, choose "View on photo page" (right left corner of the page). You will be taken to a new tab with your photo showing. Do not click on it. Instead, hit the download icon (right left corner of the page). A menu with different sizes will pop up, don't select any but choose "View all sizes". Your private photo will now show with a selection of sizes you can click on. Pick the right size you wish to share. The photo will automatically reload in that size. Hit the right button on your mouse and select "Copy image address". Come back to your post tab on 2PR and select the image icon in the menu bar at the top of the Reply/Quick Reply window. Paste the image address in the pop-up window that will have appeared. Hit "Insert image". Voilà, done!

The peas have inspired me to fussy cut my own rainbows out! Yay! So glad you've found a way to do this without spending $15. I’m going to start posting my pages to Instagram. I photographed days 1-10 this morning. Here’s the first. Very cute! And yes, it sure has been a year... Love that you're including a January picture for the beginning of your album. Feels like a full circle moment for 2021. Just finished day 11 and now it is time for bed. Kudos to you for scrapping daily and keeping up! Love that you're doing oversized inserts and that you did a red lightbulb to tie it all in with your red album. It frames the semi-hidden page so well with the matching shade! It feels like forever since I have been here (super busy at work), but I have zero pages done either, everything is journaled, photos taken (sitting on memory card) and I am A OK with that :-). Ah, a fellow busy-busy-busy-at-work-er. I share the pain, friend! One of my colleagues came down with the Virus so now I'm scrambling to take over part of his workload until he's better (fully vaxxed but symptomatic breakthrough infection, alas). I just want a little bit of time off. Or not working through lunch. Ok, we'll get there eventually! We got this. We're going to be ok. Our albums will be made at some point. We're just going to hang in there until it quietens down, alright? *mumbles something-something about hares and tortoises* I resorted to sending my Liz T calendar files to their local photo shop to be printed which turned out to be very easy and not too horrendously expensive. The folks are happy with the results, were able to pick up 2 days later, so I think I'll continue to do that from now on. Supports their local economy too. Sounds like a great plan, actually. And it's more eco-friendly as well! Nothing in my album is done, I don't start until after Christmas. But I am bursting with ideas. So many ideas. I may need 2 albums. Very excited to start on it for real. Oooooh, maybe two volumes? Sounds like a lot of creativity! Very exciting. Hope you'll share your pages with us. Yikes, anniefb . I'm so sorry. I've been wondering whether there would some psychological whiplash for citizens of countries coming out of the zero-case strategy. It's been an exhausting and untenable yoyo diet of locking down, coming out of lockdown but I can imagine there will also be anxiety for some due to becoming a "mass" infection country as the daily infections numbers tick up. Sending you love! And a lot of relaxation for your upcoming 3-week holiday.

DECEMBER 16Floor //Photo prompt: Step away from your usual viewpoint and photography habits! We so often focus on what is happening around us at eye level that we forget to get down low and see the world through the eyes from a different perspective. Focus on everything that is happening on the floor during this merry month: grandparents getting on the floor to help the little ones test out their new toys, your pet snoozing away in their bed during a festive celebration at home, the groceries all lined up against the wall after you went shopping to feed the extra mouths in your home for the holidays, boots and sleds drying out on the stoop after some snow fun, etc. Story prompt: "Crossing the floor" Because changing sides isn't just for politicians! On which festive topic have you crossed the floor this year? Have you left your artificial tree in the attic to opt for a real one - yes, needles and all! - instead? Are you buying second-hand/upcycled gifts for the first time? Has the smaller 2020 celebration due to the pandemic restrictions converted you to a more minimalist approach moving forward? Song of the day:
