Is it weird that I am excited that I FINALLY get to use some of Shimelle's field trip paper? Mainly the dinosaur stuff! YAY. I got it for when we were to visit the LA Natural History Museum but that has been put off due to Covid. But instead I will use some of the items for the Cabazon Dinosaurs and leave some for when we will eventually go to the LA NHM.

DECEMBER 18Rejoice //Photo prompt: /rɪˈdʒɔɪs/ verb: to feel or show great happiness about something. Photograph a moment of active joy or simply something that makes you feel very happy these days. You may need to set your camera up beforehand and make sure you're ready to shoot to get this prompt captured but it'll be worth the effort to remember the faces of utter delight of family or friends meeting again, how your children's eyes lit up when they found out you were treating them to an early gift, the goofy look your dog gave you when they realised they were getting a rare treat. If you are Christian, this prompt may take on an extra special meaning during Christmastide. Song of the day (shout-out to the dinosaur lovers in this thread like @sunnycamom 's daughter - not an actual Christmas song but the video goes all in for the festive season):

sleepingbooty LOL that was awesome. Ok my French is SUPER rusty but when he says "de quelques tetes hors de l'eau, un monde u tout se perde" (I hope I got that right) is it translated literally? So head out of water? And where everything gets lost? Or am I missed a meaning?

So head out of water? And where everything gets lost? Or am I missed a meaning? Doesn't look like your French is rusty at all! You got it. Nous // WeOn ira voir la mer // We will go see the seaVoir si la lune éclaire // See if the moon lights upDe quelques têtes hors de l'eau // A few heads above the water*Un monde où tout se perd // A world where everything is lost
* The heads here refer to the unit of measurement so a few feet above the water
Here's the song with a semi-ok English translation of the lyrics if you're interested (sorry, no actual dinosaur mentions and some lyrics are actually mistranslated but you'll get the gist of it):

Being perfectly honest here, I haven't scrapped one page yet. I got as far as my stuff is assembled and I pulled out my DD stamps. That's it. I haven't even watched any of Ali's videos. This month has been more busy for me and I'm going to give myself some grace and just commit to a picture a day and I'll assemble the album later. I just don't have it in me right now. This is what I am doing as well. I am always so optimistic that I can do it in December, then it never happens. Oh well. Im embracing it. Still taking photos, etc and I will put it together in January. I'm struggling on so many levels. I've taken the kids to a few holiday events earlier in the month, and just recently got the tree up & we decorated it. So, a few photos taken. Nothing lime usual years. I'm going to try to remember to save a scrap of the wrapping papers I bought (holiday flamingoes, holiday llamas, and colorful bulbs). And keep taking a few photos here & there.

I caught up on a bunch of videos and posts yesterday and I will say - I am LOVING the 10x8 size!
I have a few years that I haven't finished (or even really started) that I might go back and do 10x8. This year, there hasn't been much magic, or much going on at all, so sticking to 6x8 for 2021. But itching to play with the bigger size!

This is my first year doing DD so I went with the most common size of 6x8. I am learning that I wish I had more room. So maybe next year if I do it again, I will try the 10x8.

I'm doing 6x8 as usual but I love seeing what everyone has been doing with them. I especially love the pages with a large photo and a strip of journalling or foldout down the side. Also like the full page transparency and vellum sheets in that size.

Did I leave home this morning to go spend the day with family thinking I'd posted today's prompt early? Sure. Did I actually post that prompt? Apparently not. And I did not realise until right now. 'Pologies! DECEMBER 19Rejoice // Photo prompt: /rɪˈdʒɔɪs/ verb: to feel or show great happiness about something. Photograph a moment of active joy or simply something that makes you feel very happy these days. If you are Christian, this prompt may take on an extra special meaning during Christmastide. Story prompt: "Big / Small" Include two stories of rejoicing, one over something small and over one something big. It's a beautiful way to record that life's most heartfelt emotions come in all packages and that something doesn't need to be a big deal to make you experience big emotions. Song of the day:

Went to family Christmas yesterday and found out MY COUSIN WAS IN A HALLMARK MOVIE THIS YEAR that I had just watched… but I didn’t recognise him 🤣 Bit part but still I’m sooo proud and that is SO going in my album along with my hallmark checklist 😁 My aunt started saying he was in a movie, that it was a hallmark one, and I interrupted her as I’ve watched almost every one this year for the first time.

Oh gosh I love the fun things you guys are doing this year @sunnycamom! Your kids would love the Sacramento zoo right now, we've been taken over by ginormous animatronic dinosaurs that move and growl.

Autumn Nguyen (simplyautumnnguyen on Insta)
Did a spread in her album using a pocket page!
I was so happy to see it. It's very simple but perfect. I feel like all of the pages of the creative team are getting away from page protectors and they are my go to.
I don't have time to think up creative things every day. Sometimes I just want to throw a picture in a pocket, slap a sticker on it, and call it a day.
I love playing with paper and being creative but I also want to finish the project because it's more than just a craft to me. These books really are very important to our family.

Thanks for posting someone new to follow. With this being my first year, I was gung-ho about being uber creative with every layout/day/spread. But I quickly realized, it can be simple too. And some days just need simple. I was following the wrong IG accounts in the beginning who over did it for my personal preference.

DECEMBER 20If you document until Christmas Day, you are now 80% done! Yes, eight-zero. The final five-day stretch, hang in there! Keep taking photos, making notes (and creating if you're crafting in real time). If you're documenting all the way to the end of the month, you are 2/3 done, yay! Keep going, you got this. Hands //Photo prompt: They are our most used tools. They cut scrapbook papers, they press the shutter-release button, they write or type down the stories we want to look back on. Today, we celebrate them and everything they do. Holding a cup of hot coffee, carefully wrapping gifts, holding someone else's hand, kneading dough, working on your December album, putting on gloves before stepping outside, even expressing emotions. Story prompt: "Christmas in our hands" Look around and photograph how Christmas is literally held in your family's hands as we ramp up prepping for the festivities. Get your camera out in the kitchen for all things baking and cooking, at the desk/table for writing a thank-you note to Santa, around the tree for readjusting the tree topper or adding water to your tree stand, the garage for taking the box of Christmas table linen off the shelves, the table for folding napkins, the doorway for bringing in gifts, etc. Song of the day:
