Popping in to say I've been enjoying all of your pics/sharing about your DDs, here & Insta. December has gone by with a flash..super busy at work and having radiation every day...it's just a lot. I never did get around to using the Ali journal I picked up, I may fill it in with a few tidbits and keep it going for a few years. All I managed to do was take photos and jot down notes/journaling in my phone, I posted a few things for the photo challenge I follow. I am hoping to maybe create some layouts next week. I have massive amounts of digital content I want to print & cut too. sleepingbooty omg that tree! Hope you are feeling better. blemon Milo, as in Milo & Otis? I also have a black demon cat, we usually refer to her as a terrorist. I sometimes think she was sent from the colony (she was a rescue in a hoarding situation) to infiltrate & take back intelligence. Actually, this is her 3rd xmas here and in the past 6 months of so she has become way more behaved and calmed down a bit. I love her. burnbright I feel you on December/xmas...honestly, it's always a bit bittersweet for me. Hang in there! I probably won't log in until next week, so hope all you peas have a very Merry Christmas if you celebrate, and a peaceful holiday season.

For those who followed my vent regarding the half-lit tree we get year upon year, here's the photo (apologies it's not great but I cannot be bothered to venture out again super early in the morning to get a better one #toocold - it'll have to do for DD, F it): This is the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. I can't believe they thought this was ok. Like why bother? Or maybe they're afraid short people would steal the bulbs from the bottom. You should send this photo to the newspaper. I think it's totally worth its own page in your DD. blemon Milo, as in Milo & Otis? I also have a black demon cat, we usually refer to her as a terrorist. I sometimes think she was sent from the colony (she was a rescue in a hoarding situation) to infiltrate & take back intelligence. Actually, this is her 3rd xmas here and in the past 6 months of so she has become way more behaved and calmed down a bit. I love her. So I have to wait 2.5 more years for a calmer cat? Oh no. And he came with the name Milo from the rescue and we liked it. It seems to suit him. But demon is fitting. We thought the neuter would help settle him down but then the vet told us it could take months. Ha!

DECEMBER 23Underneath // Photo prompt: It's not all about the obvious, in-your-face sparkle 'n dazzle! Let's reveal what is hidden beneath today. Gifts under the tree, little feet kicking under the table, a festive ugly sweater under a winter coat, a finger pressed down to help make a perfect bow, a seasonal kissing portrait underneath the mistletoe, a furry face peeking out from under a warm blanket. Story prompt: "Hiding spots" As the house gets busier with Christmas just around the corner, spot where all those trying to stay away from the hustle and bustle are hiding out and how they're keeping busy/trying to remain unforgotten as you look for helping hands. Don't forget about the pets... Song of the day:

I've been loving everyone's pages here!! I've been a bit behind so I have tons of youtube videos and IG hashtags to comb through for inspiration. Still.. nothing done in Jenna-land 🙃 I'm determined to get something put together but I've given up on the daily aspect and will try and get 25- ish random stories together instead. We're in the middle of another Northern California storm so Christmas will be a wet one. We've had 2 semi-sunny days the entirety of the month and it's really gotten to me. I'm tired of every photo I take having a blue overcast tint #firstworldproblems Last night we went to a rich neighborhood to gawk at how lovely the houses were that we'll never afford. A lot of the lights were pretty too lol

So I have to wait 2.5 more years for a calmer cat? Oh no. *laughs in 4 cats of varying ages over 5 that run around the house like monsters* you'll never get away from it I wake up to presents kicked across the room! It's like they're playing soccer in the middle of the night with boxes.

You know what's funny is that when I initially started this project I actually thought I might not have enough photos to do daily. Now I find I have so many I can't include them all.

And here come the pages, an early/southern hemisphere Merry Christmas to you all! From this years album (still waiting on photos to print for a lot of this year to be finalised!) (Snoopy ornaments hanging on our tree) (list of gift recipients and gifts given will be added to the circle on the bottom of the page as I bought 11 gifts this year for family) Highlights from last year: (title page at front of album, front cover had a copy of the letter from the Government that was available to print that stated that Santa was allowed into Australia as he did not have COVID that was signed by the PM) (pic of each family member on each tag) (hallmark movies, all 2x2 are flips that detail all of the movies that I watched that year) (tree theme for 2020 was Pixar characters!) (my son played hat dress ups (on reverse of the flips) so my Aunt decided to dress up her cats and send me photos of them in their "outfits") (because COVID was only going to be a 2020 thing...) (because it felt like everyone else did an opening door for their album in 2020 and I didn't want to miss out on that band wagon!) (where else would I document all my horrendous selfies with my kids... why are selfies a thing now?!? I don't want to take this many photos of myself EVER) (when you unintentionally buy both the kids grinch shirts) (the kids enjoying the NYE fireworks in Sydney from the safety of our lounge room and ending the album with the famous red door... which I think I saw on here from last year's posts... and I had to join in like everyone else again.) Sorry for the long post, once I am doing something like this (i.e. clicking on the computer) I have to do it all or I will NEVER do it. Can't wait to see more posts from other albums from you all start to come through as I love getting inspiration and scraplifting... as you can see! With the upmost awe and wonder for the original contributor and their designs of course. Getting life crafted albums and finally finishing projects this year that I have had sitting in the scrap room for 15+ years as a result of the smaller album size, watching Youtubers like Krystal Idunate and all her crazy ideas for out of page protector spreads, and buying a number of Elizabeth crafts dies that fit into the Life Crafted and Ali Edwards albums has been a real inspiration during lock down. Thus the decision to quit lurking and start contributing on this forum this year. Thanks one and all for all the heads up on releases, general support, and voices talking about a hobby I have that none of my local friends share.

After a quiet (and sick) week ...
we did ALL the things today - baked cookies, made gingerbread houses, watched Christmas movies and listened to Christmas music, ate a special meal, hung our new decorations on the tree, opened and donned our Christmas pj's, talked out our favorite things about Christmas, put the last of the packages under the tree - essentially squeezed half of my usual DD stories into one single day!
It's been that kind of year, but it really got us into the holiday mood and we're ready for the big day tomorrow.
I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas day!

And a very merry Christmas to all! It's nearly 1PM here in Western Europe and we are recovering from last night's big Christmas celebration with my family (our main celebration is on the 24th) while waiting for James Webb to be launched into space... I hope everyone's having a wonderful time with their loved ones. May you be surrounded by love, good food and happy feels. To those who cannot (yet) be reunited with their family and/or friends, my heart is with you. As always, for the 24th and 25th, just a couple of essential prompts to enjoy and soak up the festive atmosphere. Nothing more is needed! DECEMBER 24 - 25 Connect // Prompt: 'Tis the season of connecting, of joining your family to celebrate together, of calling friends to wish them well, of Zooming when you can't be physically present. Think of all the ways you are connecting through the month. Maybe it's in the smaller things like connecting the different spheres that make up the body of a snowman? Building Lego? Connecting puzzle pieces? A print-out with the Wi-Fi information for your Christmas house guests so they can connect to the internet? Is one of your (grand)kids sending you selfies with seasonal Snapchat filters? Do you celebrate religiously or spiritually by joining hands perhaps? Open // Prompt: Although it's the month closing the year, December is filled with openings. Be it of gifts, of tearing through wrapping paper to discover what Santa brought. Or of a book as you take some time to escape from the world around you. Perhaps of a window overlooking a garden filled with snow (or pretty summer flowers down under). The open car trunk filled with food and gifts to drive over to a loved one. Open arms embracing someone. Song:

I can finally clear all my Christmas card supplies from my scrap area and focus on my DD. I finished the journaling for a few days today and now I’m just thinking of some creative layout ideas while I sit here with my DD stuff finally out again.

Merry Christmas everyone! I'm ready to take down all the decorations and pretend it's spring. Ha! I'm really not joking. I'm on day 20 in the DD now. I wanted to do the pie chart thing for my advent calendars and realized that I would hate the circles if they were not perfect and also didn't feel like dealing with the silhouette so I made tags for the pocket. That page is almost done. I'm going to add bits of the packaging to the backs of the tags. Day 21 is about the solstice and it's ready. I just need to stick it to the back of day 20. I have a plan for the 22, 23, 24, and 25 and hope to work on them tomorrow. I will take a couple of days but the plan is to go simple. If I don't finish it in the next few days, I won't finish. Oh, since some of you are following the kitten antics, I'll share that since we didn't put up a tree, we thought it would be funny to put all the presents on the cat tree. It looked hilarious. We got a nice laugh out of that. Thank you, the British, for inventing Christmas Crackers. They are hard to find here in the US but I got some at TJMaxx and we had a lot of fun. I'm saving the rest of them for next year. We wore the hats and played the little whistles that came inside. The cats freaked out. They hated our music and hid upstairs. I will be sad to not have this thread but I'm going to do other projects this year so I will not wait until August to be around. I'm looking forward to some free time in 2022. I think I am ready to start my DD album. Kinda thinking I want to do all of it between now and leaving for New Years on the 30th. Doable? Maybe. Do it! You totally can.

Merry Christmas peas! I have only just started putting my album together in the last week. We had a few days away for a family celebration before Christmas, and work has been crazy this year so I feel like I've had no time to get crafty. The mojo has also been hiding a bit over the last couple of months so I'm trying to get that back. I typically finish my album by New Year but am fairly certain that won't happen this year, although I know if I pack it up before it is finished, it won't get done. Thank you, the British, for inventing Christmas Crackers. They are hard to find here in the US but I got some at TJMaxx and we had a lot of fun. Wait, what? Are they really not a normal thing in the US? Christmas crackers/bon bons are so much a part of my memories I didn't consider they might not be universal.

Haha, they are definitely not a universal thing. We could find some at Marks & Spencer's before M&S closed their shops in France due to Brexit. Crackers are mostly a British tradition exported through (parts of?) the Commonwealth. Oh, since some of you are following the kitten antics, I'll share that since we didn't put up a tree, we thought it would be funny to put all the presents on the cat tree. It looked hilarious. We got a nice laugh out of that. That *is* actually hilarious! I hope you took a photo. My mother's cats would not allow their trees to be used in such a vulgar manner, tsk tsk tsk. Thas is sleepy cat space, holy land! I think I am ready to start my DD album. Kinda thinking I want to do all of it between now and leaving for New Years on the 30th. Doable? Maybe. Not sure if you can complete it all in one go but it sure sounds like a fun way to spend the end of the year... Do it, do it, do it!

DECEMBER 26 Silence //Photo prompt: All good and chaotic things must come to an end. Reflect on the quietness of the season today. Can you find it easily? Do you get up early to enjoy some alone time? Do you go on hush-hush, stay-at-home movie dates with your SO when the kids have gone to bed? Do you use noise-cancelling headphones to block out the noise of a full house for the holidays? Does your family follow a no-phone policy for Christmas dinner perhaps? Can you catch your loved ones snoozing away on the couch for an afternoon nap after all the excitement? Story prompt: "It's oh so quiet" List all the ways things have settled since the big day has passed. Are you relying on left-overs for preparing meals instead of being busy in the kitchen? Are some of your house guests already on the way back home? Are you back to finding your peaceful routine habits like reading in bed? Are the children busy in their own room with their new toys? Is it gently snowing outside while you have nowhere to go? Song of the day:

Going to tackle day 25 today. Going to be 3 pages - one 3x4 slot page protector (backside of day 24) for photos I took of the stockings hung and presents under the tree, and I am thinking front and back of another 3x4 slot page protector with 3 photos each side and one slot for journaling tag about what each kid got.
These last few days are going to be a struggle. We were supposed to go out to do some fun activities but this rain has nixed that. Perris train museum, March AFB museum, Cabazon Dinosaur museum. And waiting till after the first of the year to see Spiderman so it isn't so crowded.
Still going to the county museum though as that is indoors.
Oh and a fun day after spread. Hmm...🤔 Not the most organized family room right now.
I am thinking of doing a day about my craft area though. Why not document where I document lol
So that is day 26, 27, and 28 (day after, craft space, museum). 29 and 30 🤷♀️ 31 is about Michigan Football playoff bowl game and of course NYE. I am doing on on Jan 1 too.

Silence?! What is that?? LOL Not in a house with an autistic teen boy who got toys with noise 🤣 My son is currently listening to the alphabet song on his iPad, but all you hear is Q, R, S on repeat.
I haven't made it through the whole thread, but I hope you had a good holiday with your kids. It ended up being really rough with my son. We went to my mother's house and only stayed for dinner. Since his epilepsy began it's constant med changes and the last two months have been rough. I'm impressed you've stayed up to date. My initial plan was to take all the photos and do one or two pages. It's going to be much less than that now.

Oh my gosh, my son likes to have certain Christmas songs on repeat and others he goes back to the same 1 minute he likes over and over. Oh man med changes are hard. I so hated that with DD when we would have to adjust her meds. I would work on them during the week when the kids were watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune or on the weekend when ds was watching a movie or tv show. I would sneak away upstrais to my craft space. Its at the top of the stairs and I can hear everything and just peak my head over the safety wall to check on him if dh wasnt home.

Thankfully I have the next week to catch up on my DD. It has been quite a week. The tl;dr on my daughter, she was negative for Covid! We got the results on Christmas Eve. The unexpected death of an old friend (we found out Thursday) put a bit of a melancholy cast on the holiday, but there was still lots of joy and happiness. For this, I am thankful. I decided to go to 31 this year. I have SO MUCH stuff from this year that I haven't used, which hasn't happened in the past. I really loved the AE advent calendar, but now I have a lifetime supply of stickers, lol. I sense a RAK coming! BTW, sleepingbooty, that tree! OMG, what the heck?

Wait, what? Are they really not a normal thing in the US? Christmas crackers/bon bons are so much a part of my memories I didn't consider they might not be universal. I first had them my Freshman year in college (1992). I went to Ireland over the holidays with a friend who had lived there. I also got to taste my first trifle and omg. So good! That *is* actually hilarious! I hope you took a photo. My mother's cats would not allow their trees to be used in such a vulgar manner, tsk tsk tsk. Thas is sleepy cat space, holy land! I did take photos! And my husband gets in a silly mood once every few months and he put on an elf hat. My cranky cat was all about it. I got some photos of her trying to swat at it. They are blurry but cute. So, I have up to day 21 done. I'm going to start on Day 22 now. I just booked a Disney World vacation for May. We have election day that Tuesday so my daughter will only miss 3 days of school. I just booked the room and I hope the rates go down a bit. I have some tickets already so we won't have to spend much on the third day.
