I hope everyone had a lovely holiday with family/friends!
Mentally went through stories while I completely dismantled everything today 🤣 I probably should have checked to see if there were photos I still needed.. 🙃
This morning over coffee Chris and I were both like "...hey would it be terrible if we put everything away??" So happy we were on the same page 😆 watched a couple Spider-man movies (Tobey era) and put stuff away. The house is soooo dark now but I like the clutter being gone.
Now to actually get down to business this week!

And Day 26. No my ds is not naked. LOL Due to all of his surgeries, CVL lines, and Autism, he isn't fond of shirts. So in the home, he must wear pants. http://instagram.com/p/CX-KQM9ru8A

Merry Christmas peas! I have only just started putting my album together in the last week. We had a few days away for a family celebration before Christmas, and work has been crazy this year so I feel like I've had no time to get crafty. The mojo has also been hiding a bit over the last couple of months so I'm trying to get that back. I typically finish my album by New Year but am fairly certain that won't happen this year, although I know if I pack it up before it is finished, it won't get done. Thank you, the British, for inventing Christmas Crackers. They are hard to find here in the US but I got some at TJMaxx and we had a lot of fun. Wait, what? Are they really not a normal thing in the US? Christmas crackers/bon bons are so much a part of my memories I didn't consider they might not be universal. I didn’t realise that Christmas crackers weren’t a “thing” everywhere 😁 the flimsy paper hats that stick to your head from your forehead sweat due to the 35 degree Celsius Christmas Day that we have (about 95 F), the super cheap but sometimes useful treat like a mini measuring tape or pen or nail brush, the super bad jokes we all take turns reading out…they are an institution in our house and for all the family christmases we go to… my mother in law was panicking as she couldn’t find any at the shops this year (would be like thanksgiving without turkey just to highlight the importance of the things!)

A couple of questions from a newbie:
1) Is it terrible to stop your December Daily on Christmas day? I feel like I am mentally done with Christmas. I've had my tree up since the weekend before Thanksgiving and I think I want to take it down on Wednesday and just be done with Christmas.
2) What do you do with all the extra photos? I'm debating whether I want to put the extra photos in my project life album or if I want them in my December album. They just don't seem to go with the theme of the DD album. With that said, I still have a bunch of supplies between my Elle's studio kit and my Hip Kit and I just feel like I could complete the album using only these supplies. Part of me wants my album to be pure (a Daily log of highlights of my Christmas season) and the other part of me wants to include all the pictures from Christmas this year to keep everything together. I can't make up my mind.

Is it terrible to stop your December Daily on Christmas day? I feel like I am mentally done with Christmas. You do you, jeremysgirl! Many people stop on Christmas Day (I think the majority, actually), some of us continue until December 31st. Some go all the way to Epiphany on January 6. Don't feel obligated to keep going. You've done amazing. You feel done. Sounds like the perfect time to wrap up the project. Congrats on working on it IRL and being finished! So glad you joined us this year. What do you do with all the extra photos? I rarely print photos out before knowing where they'll go in my DD but when I do have extras, they go straight into PL. When I'm done with DD, I'm done. I just need to archive whatever's left in a decent spot and move on.

Haha, at least they strung the garland at the top of the tree this year! It's way more awkward when they hang it just on the bottom of the tree... I just booked a Disney World vacation for May. We have election day that Tuesday so my daughter will only miss 3 days of school. Yay! I miss my Disney park outings so much since the start of the pandemic. Wishing you all safe travels way in advance. And what a lovely family Christmas gift. Something lovely to look forward to as 2022 begins unfolding. Looking great, @sunnycamom! Love those soft pinks in addition to your bright Christmas tree lights and colourful giftwrap. It balances everything out so neatly. Mentally went through stories while I completely dismantled everything today 🤣 I probably should have checked to see if there were photos I still needed.. My twin, I swear. I took down the wreath and only wondered as I was taking the dry branches to the bin in the street whether I'd taken a photo of it or not... I just have a couple of days to go in my DD album and am enjoying being on holiday - I was so ready for a break. Congrats on your well-deserved break! I'm so impressed you've caught up on your DD album already. You're going to be finished before January 1st at this rate.

I can't make up my mind. If you have extra sheet protectors, insert the photos in them and set them in the back with maybe a page you create that is loose and not in a page protector that says Christmas memories or extra pictures or whatever. That way they are put away safely BUT if you change your mind it is easy to move them to another album. Also if they don't bring you joy, put them away in a photo box.

DECEMBER 27Move //Photo prompt: In this month of running around to find the last gifts and getting all the ingredients for the big family celebration, of get-togethers we've longed for all year long, of high spiritual meaning for some, moving and being moved is at the centre of our lives. Whether it's the holiday buzz getting us up and going or an emotional moment, photograph how this season stirs and strays you from your usual everyday life. Are you participating in a Christmas-themed run or polar bear dive? Are you going on a ski trip? Do you have your phone or camera out just at the right moment of someone being touched by reuniting with loved ones or getting a sentimental surprise? Creative prompt: Make an interactive element for your page that will allow you to move parts of your story around. Pull-out tabs, flips to store extra photos, sliding embellishments, etc. Song of the day:

I can't make up my mind. I only print out the photos that go in my DD. And then I just keep the rest in the cloud. If there are a bunch of tiny stories that I want to include, sometimes I'll do a 23 things spread. I got this idea from Marie Lottermoser and it's really fun. It means you have to print out a lot of tiny photos but the pages always look cool. In the past I would use a 3X8 to make the list from 1-23 and then it is day 23 (or whatever). For me it was always at the end of the season so I put it on day 23 because I knew I would have stories for the 24th and 25th. And I am DONE by Dec. 25. I want the decorations put away, I want the journal to end. The death of christmas is here, how long will it take me to finish all this cheese? What day is it? Is it Monday or Thursday? I don't know. I just finished day 23 and I am SO done. I'm hoping to push out 24 and 25 tonight to be done with it. I was over it a couple of days ago but it's important for me to finish. These books are things my family treasures. But there's no way in he** I could go past the 25th. Yay! I miss my Disney park outings so much since the start of the pandemic. Wishing you all safe travels way in advance. And what a lovely family Christmas gift. Something lovely to look forward to as 2022 begins unfolding. I don't know if you remember but we were planning on going to Paris and Disney (and to visit our friends who live in Reims but also have parents with a house on the coast somewhere when they retired). So 2020 messed that up. I'm not going to plan a trip internationally until this mess is over. I can drive to Florida. It's 14 hours from my house to the mouse. It's not and easy drive but we stay in a hotel somewhere along the way. That way it breaks up the drive but then we can get to the hotel early and swim in the pool. Hopefully Paris one day.

sleepingbooty, I still have a few more layouts to go. I've made it through 12/18. But I really wanted to finish it up this coming weekend. I do until the 25th and then if space permits I have one last page that “welcomes” the new year, in 2020 it had a pic of the kids watching the early fireworks on tv. For all the “extra” stuff it sounds like I did a Similar thing to the “23 things” but I had it on the other side of the fireworks page in the page protector where I just brain dumped out all the rest of the things I wanted to mention for that year, I can’t see why you couldn’t do a similar thing and add pics as well (I had a 4x6 meme instead that summed up 2020 for me as the visual focal point as well as a 3x4 acrylic 2020 that I wanted to use in the 6x8 album but had left over at the end of my “normal” pages. You could easily put photos in place of those!) After 25 December we do pretty much nothing (sit, eat leftovers, make lego) for about a week so I feel like documenting that is a bit of a waste of time. Next year I’ve prepped and am ready to go with an A to Z album instead for a new challenge… the last three pages will be Xmas, year in review and zzz (again a celebration of the end of 2022 or New Years page) which should be fun to challenge myself with! Helps having a family name that starts with a q 😁

Fingers crossed for Paris soon (and a swift resolution to this pandemic)! We've really gone back and forth with my SO on the matter of renting a car and just driving to Disneyland Paris since trains are a hawt mess of cluster contaminations right now but the 10+ hours have held us back (especially since we'd only go for two days in the parks - WDW is a way bigger resort). I totally understand your decision to turn this into a road trip. I find myself daydreaming about getting in a car and just going at least once a month... Will live vicariously through your spring travels!

I am currently typing up some journaling for my mini DD and will start cutting down some of the photos I printed yesterday. I'm using our 3-day isolation stint (before we head down to see my SO's fam) to get ahead. If I'm on schedule, I may actually have most of the days printed and all I'll need to do in early January is a bit of stamping, adhering everything together, adding holes to each page and boom, I'll be done! *crosses fingers*

Thank you to sleepingbooty lg blemon @sunnycamom I considered all your comments and perspectives yesterday and had to sleep on it before I figured out what to do. I decided to end my DD at Christmas Day. And I've decided to simply print the extra pics and slip them into page protectors in the back of the album. Most of them are just group photos we took anyway. Nothing too exciting, but I don't want them left out and forgotten. There are a lot of people we celebrated with that didn't make it into DD and I want to make sure I put shots of them into the album.

DECEMBER 28Contrast //Photo prompt: Complementary colours – like the very seasonal red and green, opposites of some sort, black and white photography, today's project is all about capturing two premises seemingly at odds. Try to think of very December thematics like nice and naughty or warm and cold. Document your new ornaments mixed in with the old ones, snowfall from the comfort of your cosy home, photograph a high contrast silhouette portrait against the sunlight. After all, it is the season of coming together, no matter how different we may be... Creative prompt: Create contrast on your page by printing your main photo in colour and the other ones in black & white, using neutral colours for your products against your colourful pictures, grabbing black cardstock to make a statement background, etc. Song of the day:

Just finished day 28 (museum) and 29 (Food Saver I got from Santa). I am sad this is almost over. I have thoroughly enjoyed making my first DD!
I may do day 30 today as well - it is about my craft nook. Figured why not document where I document.

Completed up to day 12 so I'm doing good...starting to get into a groove. I'm thinking that I'm going to stop at day 26 or 27, just going to play it by ear. I'd like to start working on a different project and I can't bring myself to put it away until its done.

I'd like to start working on a different project and I can't bring myself to put it away until its done. This is pretty much where I am too. I started making pages really late this year, in the week of Christmas. I've got 8 days done completely, several more with photos or some embellishments thrown in page protectors, and today I'm working through photos, resizing and printing them. I'm pretty sure if I put this album away it won't get finished so I want to get it all done before I burn out on Christmas.

DECEMBER 29Reflection //Photo prompt: A selfie in the mirror, light bouncing off shiny ornaments, flames of candles cast on a window, the sun's crisp light on bright snow, but also a loved one pensively poring over a book, your kiddo thinking hard to come up with their list for Santa or finishing up your One Little Word album. Take today's noun and interpret it as you deem fit. This season is filled with all kinds of reflecting... Story prompt: Take a walk down 2021 memory lane and compile your year in review moments. Highlights, memorable TV/eats, notable stats (books read, getaways, hours of listening to podcasts/Spotify, etc.), favourites. Bring it all together and use your stamp sets, icon die-cuts, left-over numbers from DD to turn into a beautiful piece of graphic memory art. Let's celebrate Pandemic: Year II in style. We made it and even made some good memories along the way! Song of the day:
