Does anyone do an end page? Day 32 (New Years Day) will land on the front of a page protector.
Curious how everyone ends theirs.
I don't do one little word of the year or NY resolutions.
Hmm...🤔

Hmm...🤔 I've sometimes just tossed a pretty paper in there that I didn't use and call it good. Maybe stash some cards you received there? A quick note or wish/hope for next year? I'm currently waiting on my prints for the 13th + to come in the mail. Congrats for making it!!

Hmm...🤔 I often just add a random Christmasy photo (or a few) that I love that didn't make it in earlier, something pretty and decorative that isn't particularly meaningful or story-based - holiday lights in the city work well.

I'll sometimes just throw in a family photo or as others have suggested, a random Christmas photo that I like but didn't include elsewhere in the album. I've also just done a decorated last page using pattern paper and some leftover Christmas themed die cuts or stickers to use them up.

I took a photo of my kids watching fireworks on tv (from behind so you just see the silhouette of their heads and the lit up tv screen) and backed it on the other side by writing a list of all the weird 2020 things that happened. I’ll probably do the same for this year, or I might put in photos of the baby bird learning to fly in our backyard as a nod to a fresh start in the new year and journal something like that… Or your favourite photo of the whole family from 2021? Serious and then silly photo of the family? Before (early 2021) and then after (late 2021) photo of each family member (one on each side of the page as a comparison or side by side?) Favourite memory or achievement of the year? Something they completed or got better at? A new hobby for a new year? I could go on 😄

A couple of questions from a newbie: 1) Is it terrible to stop your December Daily on Christmas day? I feel like I am mentally done with Christmas. I've had my tree up since the weekend before Thanksgiving and I think I want to take it down on Wednesday and just be done with Christmas. 2) What do you do with all the extra photos? I'm debating whether I want to put the extra photos in my project life album or if I want them in my December album. They just don't seem to go with the theme of the DD album. With that said, I still have a bunch of supplies between my Elle's studio kit and my Hip Kit and I just feel like I could complete the album using only these supplies. Part of me wants my album to be pure (a Daily log of highlights of my Christmas season) and the other part of me wants to include all the pictures from Christmas this year to keep everything together. I can't make up my mind. Stop when you're ready to stop. I think most end around Christmas Day though - I'm an outlier keeping going through Epiphany (but not daily) Extra photos - Not everything in December goes in my DD - Advent/Christmas/New Years/Epiphany related things do but I still have random layouts in my family album - and I do a Christmas page or two in there as well.

December has been so very busy that my DD has been sadly neglected - I HAVE taken photos and the first half of the month, I've slipped photos into page protectors in the order I plan to scrap them. I ordered photos through today earlier and will pick them up tomorrow. And I've a plan for what photos still to take.
My older two left yesterday morning - DD21 is moving in with DS30 in Virginia - so all the hustle and bustle of getting ready for his visit, packing her up, preparing for Christmas, moving over the rest of my furniture (FINALLY), shopping, sewing, decorating, cleaning....is over and I can (hopefully) get back to scrapping and get the DD finished up
Loving all the pages shared here - so much inspiration

About to leave to join up with my SO's family for a few days so I'm going to sign off in this thread for the year today... I will be back by the end of the week but it'll be 2022 already. So, to everyone who's been playing along and to our lurkers too: I wish you a smooth and Covid-free transition into the new year! May the final days of 2021 bring you the quiet (or madness) you've been craving for. May NYE make you feel excited and energised about the coming year. May we meet again and share our finished(-ish) December Daily albums soon. It has been such a privilege exchanging with you all in here since August. Can't wait to continue our silly antics in 2022 (and hopefully get my DD done). See you later, scrappy gators! The final prompts for DD 2021... ✨ DECEMBER 30 - 31 ✨Care //Prompt: This time of year, we are reminded of how we protect and provide for one another as we do big and small gestures of care. Grandparents leaving a little extra cash for the college students of the family, a bigger sibling helping a smaller one put on their shoes, your neighbour who left a plate of sweet treats, the nursing staff at an elderly relative's care home, etc. Take delight and document how much we all care for each other. There is no more beautiful reminder of the resilience of us, as a collective, through cold weather and difficult pandemic days. There is no more touching way to start closing the chapter of this nearly finished year. Fresh //Prompt: Endings are beginnings. As this year is laid to rest, we also start afresh. For this final prompt, take a good look around you to discover the symbolic premises of the new year to come as we say goodbye to 2021. A bouquet of flowers on the table, new socks you bought as stocking fillers, picking up fresh seafood from the local market for New Year's Eve, changing out the Christmas décor after the celebrations, going for a walk to get some fresh air, anything goes. The world around you is already basking in the glow of 2022, go capture it and join us as we welcome the hopes and promises of the new year. Song:

I just finished my album this morning. I did end up making some extra pages in the back to accommodate the extra pictures I had because I wanted to include everyone I spent Christmas with this year. Once the sun finally comes up here, I will take my pictures and post the rest on Instagram with our hash tag. Thank you all, especially sleepingbooty for making this holiday project so much fun. It was my first time doing the project. We will see if I do it again next year. But I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it this year. And of course, I bought entirely too many Christmas supplies. Ha!

I've completed all the pages that I want to for this project. I'll go back and add a bit more embellishments but all in all the bulk of the project is done. I've decided that I don't care to use the divided page protectors and cards for my album. I found that last year when I made my own album I enjoyed the process so much more than being held to the confines of the pockets. Its funny because I really like doing PL but I like the play part of a December Daily. There's always next year, for now I'm happy to be almost done.

Today, last day of the year, I'm going to gather up the bits & pieces that I will want to include on my holiday layouts, and put them all in one place.
I have a couple cards, some holiday wrap, leftover tags, pieces of gift bags that I will fussy cut and/or layer.
Maybe/hopefully I will order photos today for November & December.

My album is complete from Days 1-10. Then nothing else.I did some batch work today. I took photos of items that still needed it and printed them. I almost know what each day layout is. I need to do separate these photos into each days folder, then will work on this-slowly into January and probably February.

Thank you sleepingbooty for starting the thread and for the work you put in to creating the prompts for each day. This is one of my favourite threads to check each day. I'm still making progress on my album and have 11 days completed and photos/paper/cards/some embellishments thrown in pockets for 8 of the remaining days. It's going to be another hot day here (already 28C by 8am) so I plan to put some scrappy youtube videos on and work on my album.

Done and on the shelf! Cleaned up must supplies and am ready to move on. Realized I way over bought from VB warm wishes line and if I'm practical (or remember) I should be set for next year's album. But we all know that won't happen 😉 I'll want new stuff!

Yay for those who are done, thanks for those who hosted, and keep going all those waiting on the shop to print their final photos to finally get the project done, dusted and put away. I’ve gone mad and already prepped another two years of dd albums and stories from the mystery items I received in my orders… yep, definitely gone mad. Must be the heat. See you all next year or on other project blogs (even though I don’t do the other projects I might pop in for inspiration.)

I decided yesterday morning to make a DD for 2021. 😁 I toiled away all day until my back was screaming at me to sit down. I finished a handful of pages, got a little more complicated that I intended for a couple of them despite repeating to myself “keep it simple!” I even broke out my sewing machine for the first time in at least 7 years. I had so much fun. I’ll share some pages when I get a little more done.

With COVID and sharing my kids this year, we didn't do nearly as many Christmas things as we usually do... and I discovered that I wasn't as disappointed or sad as I thought I would be. I have several introspective/not event-related pages in my album, and I'm okay with that, too. I think that my Christmas anxiety and overcompensation had a lot to do with the situation the kids and I were stuck in, and now that we're not, I don't need all the outside stuff to distract me from the inside stuff that I was struggling to survive. I'll be very interested to see what next Christmas looks like for us. I also have several more pages to make for my album that I wasn't planning on as my BF's big gift for me this year was taking me to Frankenmuth (where the largest Christmas store in the world is located), and I took lots of photos there and around town since it was still decorated for Christmas including "forcing" my BF to pose with me in front of all the cheesy Christmas tourist photo opps. People were so nice walking by and would volunteer, much to my BF's disappointment, to take our photo for us.

Home safe home. Thanks so much for the kind words. I hope everyone has had a wonderful NYE and easy start to the new year! I was going to work on my mini DD tonight but instead, I've just started cutting down some of the Paislee Press x Ali Edwards 3x8 cards from DD 2020 to put in... my PL album! Looks like I'm in the mood to start documenting January already. Promise to get back to DD next week.
