Should we take bets on cost? It's a "set", so not sure how many will be included... $10.99 for I-don't-know-how-many sheets. I'm going to be so pissed if it's 11.99.

I think the vellum is gorgeous, but prepunched holes is a crappy move.

I'm going to be so pissed if it's 11.99.I'm betting at your $10.99 guess, it'll be 5 or 6 sheets. >.> I think the vellum is gorgeous, but prepunched holes is a crappy move. You know what though? I just thought about how KP had pre-punched holes one DD, but it actually measured longer than the 6x8 (or whatever size) so you could cut it off and put it in a PP. *IF* that is the case, if you're doing 6x8, you could actually use it a couple of times with a PP. Now, if this is 10x8 without room taken into account for the binder mechanism, then it's going to be short if you do use the new album size. It really is a toss up with Inked at the helm.

Printed vellum is less of a must have for me - as I can do that myself, really depends on the design. I can make my own transparencies too, and have done that in the past, but they aren't as thick as Ali's ...so usually its that kind of product that would get me to buy vs something I could make myself.
I made a promise not to buy any DD products this year - and so far with the sneaks, other than the Fa La La album, there isn't anything that would tempt me to break that promise. Although when I made it, I forgot about albums! I don't have any spare ones, so I will have to buy one, one way or another unless I go with a non traditional cover. I'm enjoying checking out the sneaks and coming here to see everyone's thoughts. I don't love the new larger albums. Definitely not for me. And that star stamp ....boring.....I was thinking the whole product play around shapes, needs a revamp. Time for Ali to drop PP based on shapes i.m.o

I agree the star stamp set is boring (and will be over priced). I prefer the VB star stamp and die set from her Wander collection, much more interesting (and includes dies!). I like the velum sneak with the Christmas floral pattern, but agree I can print my own. Not keen on the speech bubbles. My guess is that the vellum set will be 6 sheets for $12.99

I like the floral vellum but probably wouldn’t buy a whole pack of it because I hate the speech bubble design.

If you all could come help me finish my 2020 DD, that would be awesome (kinda wanted to write "rad" but I refrained for mom sake) My Gen-X heart is broken. What's wrong with rad?

I'm a Gen-Xer too. I think mom is sick of AE's overuse of the word "rad", kinda like a lot of us are sick of her handwriting. AE's also made me dislike the word "story" which I didn't even know was possible. I'm starting to hate that almost as much as the overuse of Christmas trees on top of cars.

Aw jeez these speech bubbles will probably be in the product play class huh. I think they're..okay, dunno how I'd use them though. I imagine it'll be like 4 sheets for 11.99 and if anyone complains they'll be matched with "but they're bigger!!".

Vellum floral pattern reminds me of the pattern Felicity Jane used a few years back. I think product play class will be vellum, flowers and as was posted above speech bubbles for Socrates Christmas quotes and such. I saw a tiny sneak of the felt flowers in the kit in one of the pictures and some floral patterns on the cards/ paper so that’s why I think it possibly will be a shape to use this year, if you can call a flower a shape. My guess for vellum is 5 sheets $9.99.

Juan Pablo di Pace also sings! So I wonder if we'll get another song with Laura Osnes being his costar. Possibly not.
Sometimes, scrapbooking is whatever you can do, not everything or "the best" (whatever that means). My motto is good enough. I probably make serious scrappers cringe with my square and rounded corners on one page.
That FA LA LA LA album would be such a nice wink on the shelves to the red and white wordy album she had in 2016. I'm not using albums anymore, just punching covers of my own, so I'm not in the market to buy but this one's cute and really embodies the earlier days of the DD releases. I like. That little 4x4 is so cute too! I have on ongoing 8.5x11 Christmas album. It seems like all the good designs are 6x8.
I think the stamp appeals to the newer people and there is a fair amount of excitement in the Facebook group from people looking for basics. I don't have a lot of basic stamps like that, but they are so basic. I'd rather have stacking star metal dies than bother with the stamping.

Happy Monday, fellow December lovers! In an attempt to feel inspired and wake our Christmas spirit, we'll be exploring Christmas decorations around the world over the next weeks. Today we take a look at the classic Swedish countryside Christmas with an understated, simple and nature-oriented décor: This is the only thing I’ve seen in the thread that is really inspiring me! Now I need those Scandi window stars… (again - they’ve been on my wishlist for a couple of years) I did find this gem in cleaning out the 40+ year mountain of holiday gift wrap and crap at my FIL’s place… He didn’t have the foggiest idea what it was, but my IG friends helped me figure it out - a garland advent calendar candle from “Western Germany” - well, I figured that part out, but how to actually use it was a bit beyond me. http://instagram.com/p/CSkZcK-B6CE

It should be a metallic stand on which you can move the garland up every day after burning one of the Advent "baubles" down to the next one. This type of candle - not exclusive to the Christmas countdown - is referred to as "Kugelkette Kerzen" (ball chain candles). ETA: There are different designs for these stands. The one shown above is the more traditional shape but you can have slimmer and sleek designs these days although if the candles were manufactured in "West Germany", I assume you're dealing with proper vintage stuff.

I quite like the vellum sneak, the floral is light and airy enough that I feel like I could use it in my summery Christmas album and it wouldn't feel out of place. The speech bubbles are ok, but something I'd be more likely to use in my everyday albums rather than DD.
And since we're all placing bets on the pricing, I'm guessing $11.99 for 5 sheets.

15 weeks to go until December 1st! Time to flex a few more muscles and get in shape before the ordering selection period opens. Week 2: AUDIT // COLOURSWith all the brand new products about to hit the market and the race to buy kits + add-ons before they sell out just a few weeks away, this week marks the perfect opportunity to take a good look at the impact of colours on our December documenting. 1. What are the colours you are tied to in your immediate surroundings during the December season? Make notes of your interior, your holiday decorations, the outside in December. Look out for warm vs cool hues (lighting, wood finishes, wall treatments, natural light sources in your home) and saturated (hue) vs muted (shade) colours (are you surrounded by bright colours or do they appear dusty?). Try to assess the situation realistically and create the true colour board of how your Yuletide photos will look. 2. Take a moment to get acquainted (all over again) with the colour wheel. Here's a quick guide to basic colour theory as a refresher. 3 . What do your DD albums or Christmas LOs tell you about your colour persona? How do you scrap colours during this season? Are you more of a complementary, analogous or triadic documenter? Do you notice any patterns in how you select the colours to use with photos based on specific colour occurrences? Are you more analogous for pictures dominated by the traditional red & green scheme? Perhaps you gravitate towards complementary when scrapbooking Yule photos with unseasonal colours like mint or light pink? What's your stance on foil and metallics with regards to all this? Do you pair gold with warm tones and silver with cool tones exclusively or do you like mixing it up? With all this in mind, recall your answer to question 1 to better determine your actual colour needs and preferences for DD paper products. 4. How does your stash measure up to your likes and needs? By now, you should've established a good idea of your December colour identity. Between the analysis of your home, your previous albums, photos and your personal preferences, you're fully equipped to do a full colour overview of everything you have. Go through your papers and embellishments to determine what's a perfect match and what's a total miss. Destash where necessary and keep a running list of missing colours. You can subdivide these colours into specific DD themes or product types. Don't hesitate to get precise (e.g. dark red embellishments with words, gold metallic title pieces, warm-toned wood grain pattern papers both dark and light). If you feel like you have a lot (too many) of certain coloured items already, make sure you keep a note of those to avoid buying even more in the next couple of months. Happy detour through the wonderful land of holiday colours, everyone!

I never know what to do with speech bubbles. They feel cheesy to me to add to a scrapbook page. As a person who has always read comic books and now have children who read comic books and graphic novels, I've always enjoyed them. I think the earliest ones I remember were SC as wooden embellishments. However, I can't imagine doing it throughout an entire DD, unless your plan is to make it very graphic novel-y. That vellum sheet just screams "Christmas quotes" to me... but it's huge at 10x8, too, so not sure I'd want to fill all that up. Maybe the other vellum sheets will be better. I did find this gem in cleaning out the 40+ year mountain of holiday gift wrap and crap at my FIL’s place… That is amazing!! I hope you find a stand! I spent part of my childhood living in Germany (Army brat) and carried the Advent Calendar tradition back over to the US when we moved back years and years ago. That one is so cool. 15 weeks to go until December 1st! Time to flex a few more muscles and get in shape before the ordering selection period opens. I need to buckle down and sort my supplies... Thanks for keeping us on track and motivated, Booty!

I am still finishing up going through my stash! I am having a great time while doing it too. I match the colors to my photos to the papers so I do not have a certain color type I use consistently.
From my stash I am a striped paper addict! Stars might be the second common theme, but colors are all over the place! There will be a lot of pink in the baby stage but my DD refused to wear pink after 4 so it likely won’t be in my album after that!

Tagging Charwee and Ren because they may be as excited as I am to find out about the "Kugelkette Kerzen" (ball chain candles). Thank you Booty! I googled and googled, but all the keywords I could think of were red herrings because Christmas ball garlands and advent calendars and candles are all other things than this specific thing and there are a LOT of images of all those things. Yes, these are genuine vintage from the 1980s or earlier. As for whether we have a holder... goodness only knows. Booty, you could probably fit everything you own into the plastic bins marked "Christmas decorations" in this house with room to spare. Some we've already emptied but many still full. There are two *rooms* set aside for storing Christmas stuff in this house. We're making progress, but...

Those ball candles are so cute! In their bulk they remind me of the old fashioned Lotto game drawing balls with little numbers on them. It is a fun advent calendar for sure.
