I love sweetashleyann’s work, she is so talented.
It’s cool and 75 degrees here today so I put on some sweats and have total December vibes right now.
Anyone interested in a RAK or two? (US only pls) #1 is a set of AE DD 3” high wonky circles with Holiday sayings. They are white cs with gold writing and trim. Also a set of AE DD plastic diamond shapes with designs and sayings, I think I used one.
RAK #2 is a full set of AE DD cork numbers 1-31 and a pack of AE DD plastic large circles and shapes. Pretty sure that one is complete as well.

Lol. I'm a Gen-Xer too. I think mom is sick of AE's overuse of the word "rad", kinda like a lot of us are sick of her handwriting. AE's also made me dislike the word "story" which I didn't even know was possible. I'm starting to hate that almost as much as the overuse of Christmas trees on top of cars. I see! Ali is from the Northwest and so is my friend from college who I picked it up from. I still say it. I didn't notice at all that Ali said it. So funny. No speech bubbles, please! I'm with you. I hate them. Always. When possible, I just cut the little thing off and use it as a shape. Can't do that with vellum or as part of a larger pattern. Yes, these are genuine vintage from the 1980s or earlier. The Gen-Xer in me also just died a little when you said something from the '80s was vintage. Ha ha!

I love a lot of the sneaks, but since I never got around to doing December Daily 2020, I'm just going to use the album and supplies I bought last year. I also got a lot of fun papers and Christmas related products from Crafter's Companion recently. Those are primarily for cardmaking but will also work for scrapbooking, so I think I'm set!
Now I just need the willpower to keep this mindset going once the products actually go on sale, lol.

I need to buckle down and sort my supplies... Thanks for keeping us on track and motivated, Booty! My pleasure! I so love the 4 months of utter madness and mutual cheerleading that is the DD thread. ❤️ And thank you so much for this thread booty and everyone who contributes! And a thank you to you, scrappypeanut, and everyone else playing, chatting and documenting along. I may start the thread but you all make it what it is! 😊✨ Thank you Booty! I googled and googled, but all the keywords I could think of were red herrings because Christmas ball garlands and advent calendars and candles are all other things than this specific thing and there are a LOT of images of all those things. I just happend to remember these connected round candles from many years ago. Happy to help out! I'm not sure whether they are still popular in Germany these days, especially with the glorious beauty that is the traditional Wichernkranz (the "full" wreath with pine and 24 candles). I've seen a resurgence of interest for 24 candles to burn before Christmas in Western Europe after the domination of the simplified but extremely religious 4 Sundays of Advent wreath with loads of minimalist, trendy brands coming up with modern designs for 24 mini candles stands like House Doctor and Ib Laursen. I hope that everyone who wants the ball chain candles for Advent can source some! 🕯️ Otherwise, there very pretty metal candle holders for 24 candles these days that you can adorn with fresh leaves: And mini candles with the Advent countdown: The classic burn-a-little-a-day Advent calendars are also still going strong in Europe: Another sneak, another album. 😊 Oooh, here comes the pine green album many of us were trying to zoom in on in the first sneak pic! Very pretty colour. Very, very pretty colour, not just for DD. 🥰 Paper Person with some more sneaks for the Twinkle kit! Goodness me, it's a gorgeous kit. I love that she included both a dog icon and a cat one! 😻

As a person who has always read comic books and now have children who read comic books and graphic novels, I've always enjoyed them. I think the earliest ones I remember were SC as wooden embellishments. However, I can't imagine doing it throughout an entire DD, unless your plan is to make it very graphic novel-y. This makes me wish I could draw! That would be such a cool album. Love the idea. 2. Take a moment to get acquainted (all over again) with the colour wheel. Here's a quick guide to basic colour theory as a refresher. 3 . What do your DD albums or Christmas LOs tell you about your colour persona? How do you scrap colours during this season? Are you more of a complementary, analogous or triadic documenter? Do you notice any patterns in how you select the colours to use with photos based on specific colour occurrences? Are you more analogous for pictures dominated by the traditional red & green scheme? Perhaps you gravitate towards complementary when scrapbooking Yule photos with unseasonal colours like mint or light pink? What's your stance on foil and metallics with regards to all this? Do you pair gold with warm tones and silver with cool tones exclusively or do you like mixing it up? With all this in mind, recall your answer to question 1 to better determine your actual colour needs and preferences for DD paper products. Great motivation/Inspiration Booty! I swear, I'm getting closer to dragging out that 2020 album.

joblackford You should check your stash to see if it there is a stand! It should be a metallic stand on which you can move the garland up every day after burning one of the Advent "baubles" down to the next one. This type of candle - not exclusive to the Christmas countdown - is referred to as "Kugelkette Kerzen" (ball chain candles). ETA: There are different designs for these stands. The one shown above is the more traditional shape but you can have slimmer and sleek designs these days although if the candles were manufactured in "West Germany", I assume you're dealing with proper vintage stuff. I WANTS ONE. 😍 Me tooooooooo!!!

I did a Citrus Twist for 2020. It was the first time I had used one of their kits. Tbh the spine was a bit too small, I liked the size but I like dimensional embellishments and my album is overloaded. Due to the cost of shipping, I did not want to order a 2nd album. Also, I was underwhelmed by the quality of some of the items. I did really like the journal cards though.

Will update the OP with the info, msupea ! Thanks for letting us know. As I checked Citrus Twist, I noticed their 2020 Sparkle & Joy kit is now on sale. It's down to $21.95 (from 39.95) so if anyone liked last year's but didn't buy it, this is your chance.

Eeeek, CT Merry & Bright Santa's face is creeping me out! He makes the creepy elf on the shelf look almost normal. -shudddder- Am I hoping that I find a whole tote full of 80's vintage candle balls in my in law's place so I can share with you all? Sort of! I'm hoping we've gotten through enough of the Christmas hoard that it's not likely, but let's just say it's not impossible. My Christmas in August project is to move everything out of the Snow Village storage room upstairs and make the downstairs storage room the all-Christmas storage room. We've worked hard to unload almost all the crap in the downstairs room, and I think it's a perfect place for the Snow Village boxes... This page from my 2020 album shows the upstairs room AFTER we mailed 10 huge boxes full of village components to Hawaii for our nephew, enough to fill up the counter of their lanai. It's a normal sized bedroom and all of the walls are stacked like that. snow village room by jo.blackford, on Flickr

I have a German Christmas Pyramid that belonged to my grandparents. I haven’t had it out the last two Christmas because we were in a small rental and there just wasn’t any room. I can’t wait to get it back out this year! I’ll have to remember to post a picture of it. I wonder if I have scrapped it yet in my DD…
