Last yr we didn't get flu shots at the hospital I work with. I wonder if they will do them this yr? esp if we have to get a booster COVID shot?

Yes I will. I am going to ask about the pneumonia shot this year, too. I'm eligible for the 3rd Covid vaccine in early October, too.

I read the combination of flu and covid even in a healthy person could prove deadly…

Yes. But keep in mind the timing if you’re going to get a third Covid shot. I believe you have to wait 2 weeks, although my PCP said 4, in between vaccines. My 3rd one should be Nov 10th. So this is good to know. Dh should get his soon I am supposed to get a tetanus shot at my physical in October along with the flu shot...might do flu shot at Walgreens in September. My 3rd is the same day as you

YES.
I had the knock 'em down and out influenza in fall/winter 1996 (or maybe it was 95). I was so sick from Thanksgiving (which I cooked for but actually missed completely) until the New Year. I finally went to the dr some time in early January and it turned out I had bronchitis. I'd guess it was another 4-6 weeks before i was truly better.
I don't ever want to be that sick and for that length of time again.

We usually don’t but have the last two years. The nurse talked me into because the flu was really bad in January 2020 turning into pneumonia. Then last year it was I don’t want to risk it since it was similar to Covid symptoms. We will probably get it again this year.

Hell yes.
I live in the land of vaccine fear and “you can’t make me wear a mask”.
No chance I’m going to take the run risk of needing to seek emergency care for flu.

Yes, I absolutely am getting it. I do not enjoy being sick. All the coughing, snot running, headaches, fevers, nausea, or whatever unpleasant symptom any illness brings is a disruption to the already disrupted struggle that I deal with every day. I'm never going to intentionally invite in anything extra. I will still be wearing my mask and staying away from others, but I view getting a flu shot as one extra layer of protection that is essential to my avoidance of feeling like crap. Flu shots will become available September 1st, according to my plan's website. I will definitely be one of the first in line.

Yes, whenever our HMO has them available. Last year it was drive-up and all six of us got it on the same day.

No. I don't ever get it and I won't this year either. Not an anti-vaxxer so don't jump down on me about that.

Yes. I have gotten the flu shot every year for 30 years. AND this year it is a condition of employment, so I’ll for sure get it since I’d like to keep my job!

Yes, we always get the vaccine! Our local Target has the flu shot so I am getting my daughter flu vaccinated before she leaves for college on Wed. She gets her covid booster before she goes back after winter break. She is set for college!

Yes. But keep in mind the timing if you’re going to get a third Covid shot. I believe you have to wait 2 weeks, although my PCP said 4, in between vaccines. I have Covid, Shingrix and pneumonia to do plus flu. That is a lot.

DH's work isn't having the flu shots this year. I wondered why, but I bet it's because of Covid. They are sending employees to CVS/Walgreens instead.

I have Covid, Shingrix and pneumonia to do plus flu. That is a lot. From April 2020 to May 2021 I had my pneumonia shots (2), shingles (2), Covid (2), flu (1) and a tetanus shot. 8 shots! I was a pin cushion for one year! 😆
