Yes, I try to always get one. Like others though, I wait until later. I’m usually early November. But I’ll be watching for supply issues this year, so maybe I’ll get it early.

Thanks for the reminder about leaving time between the COVID booster and any other vaccine.

I always get a flu shot, even last year when we were in lockdown.
My doctor always says the first day of flu season is the first day of school

I have Covid, Shingrix and pneumonia to do plus flu. That is a lot. From April 2020 to May 2021 I had my pneumonia shots (2), shingles (2), Covid (2), flu (1) and a tetanus shot. 8 shots! I was a pin cushion for one year! 😆 Then you understand. I am getting pneumonia in September. That’s the plan then the others after that.

Most likely--some years I do, some years I don't--it all depends on if I make time for it or happen to come across a place doing flu shots when it's convenient for me. I've never had the flu, but I'm not against getting the shot. Last year was probably of the first times I searched it out.

Yes, whenever our HMO has them available. Last year it was drive-up and all six of us got it on the same day. Our provider and many others do drive thru but I have to go to office as I get the egg free version.

A friend of mine also has to only get hers at her doctors office because of an allergy that she has. I know it’s not the egg free but it’s something else. She was hesitant to get the Covid vaccine because of the serious reaction she has had to vaccines-but had no major reaction.

I'm trying to set the world record for most vaccines in a calendar year. I've gotten two Moderna Covid shots and plan to get the third in December. I've gotten a tdap, my first Shingrix to fight against Shingles, with a second shot in a few months, plus I plan to get a flu shot in October.

Probably, I usually do. I am working from home and live in an area that has mask requirements. I don't see that changing anytime soon with the Delta numbers going up.

Yes. We always get them for free at school. Our district does them as well, but they are only free if you have the district health insurance

Absolutely. Our immune systems are low, because we were at home for a year and a half.

Being in the southern hemisphere I get my flu shot in April. Yes I got one this year. I can't remember whether we were under a mask mandate at that time or not, but I would have gotten my flu shot regardless.

Last yr we didn't get flu shots at the hospital I work with. I wonder if they will do them this yr? esp if we have to get a booster COVID shot? Funny you mention this. DH's work isn't having the flu shots this year. I wondered why, but I bet it's because of Covid. They are sending employees to CVS/Walgreens instead. Same here, for the last two years. But that's because we've been working from home since March 2020. Normally they bring someone in to our office to do the vaccinations, but this year and last year the company gave us vouchers to go and get it for free from a pharmacy.

It’s even more important to remain healthy right now, don’t want your immune system being weak from the flu and then punched in the face with COVID.
DH always does, they give them at his skilled nursing facility. I don’t always, because I use to never get the flu. But as I’ve gotten older I have started getting the vaccine much more frequently. Did last year, will this year for sure. Usually at my endocrinologist appointment around the appropriate time.

Yes. Not until late September, due to wanting to be protected throughout the flu season. But, I always get a flu shot. No reason to play Russian roulette with my health.

I get the flu shot every year, and this year won't be any different. Usually, I get it at the diabetes clinic I go to - the lab nurses always ask at my Sept/Oct visit if I've had it, and if not, I get it straight away. I'm not sure about timing this year, as I have an appointment next week, which is too early, but then my next appointment won't be until November.

Very good point upthread about not wanting to be sick when the hospitals are overflowing. Could someone explain to me how you determine when it’s time to get the third Covid shot? Somehow I missed that.

I've never had the flu, but I'm not against getting the shot. Last year was probably of the first times I searched it out. The convenience part is important.... This is why I'm happy my grocery store pharmacy does flu shots. And also they do Shingles, and lately I've seen a sign about covid vaccines although I don't know yet if they'll do boosters... I'm assuming they will once we all have to start getting them. -- Anyway, this is great for me because even if it's not really on my mind to get the flu shot I'm definitely at the grocery store regularly (although less so with covid around). So it's easy to go to the pharmacy, get the shot, then do my shopping for the time that they want you to wait around (usually 15 minutes I think and of course my shopping takes longer than that).

Somehow I missed that. Third Covid shot should be 8 months after your last one. For me, that puts me in early November, so I can get the flu shot in the third or fourth week of September and be fine.
