wahinelei , it’s good to have some clarity, your post is appreciated. There was no misunderstanding on my part, I quoted your friend word for word. I have removed both yours and Maria’s last names from my previous post. If you would like them removed from your quote of my post, you’ll need to edit it yourself. It’s too bad that your friend was not more clear from the outset. While it would not have changed the outcome, it certainly would have saved me from some unnecessary anxiety. Happy Holidays. Well I’m not sure that removing names at this point will do any good since it’s been quoted by others, I’ll just leave it. Wishing you all the best this season. I’ll tag them for you—they are here frequently. OntarioScrapper and rodeomom, can go go back and edit your post to remove the last names? I also quoted the text and edited what I quoted. wahinelei, you can edit your quoted text if you like. We hope to see you more active on the board and here for next year’s exchange.

I don't want to brag but that's probably a lie cuz I am about to!😜
All my cards are DONE, I just have to sign them and put them in their envelopes that are Already Addressed! (labeled)
Then just stamps and go! I'm sure I'll find a way to screw it up or procrastinate to the last minute though, cuz that's how I roll!
Happy Halloween Eve y'all!

Can we hand-address the cards? Or is it better just to print the labels?

Can we hand-address the cards? Or is it better just to print the labels? I think it's up to you which method you use. I love to receive hand addressed mail. However, my handwriting borders on illegible, plus I have arthritis, so labels make my life easier.

I think it's up to you which method you use. I love to receive hand addressed mail. However, my handwriting borders on illegible, plus I have arthritis, so labels make my life easier. I wasn't sure about overseas. In years past, before we had an official labelmaker (thank you again **GypsyGirl**) and when we had 120-ish people exchanging cards, I addressed alllllllll the envelopes by hand. To my knowledge they all made it to their destinations. I am so grateful that over the last few years we've had a pea willing to make us labels. Even though I did the envelopes a bit at a time, I got so tired of writing them. I'd much prefer to spend that time either making the cards, or handwriting a message inside the card! I think either way you do it, it will be fine!

I wasn't sure about overseas. Whichever method you choose, just make sure you use the format that I gave on the labels.

I wrote out my address on the top left. I am hoping to get labels this weekend and print those for the to address.
My message inside is printed but I signed my name and peaname.

Hi MichyM and **GypsyGirl**, I was just checking the list of addresses and went back to the list of participants to figure which holidays and there seems to be a discrepancy. Unless I counted wrong, there appears to be 49 participants on the participant list but only 44 on the US label list and 48 on the International label list. I counted several times but am on my iPad not at home so I can’t do a compare, but wanted to make note of it. Later I will take a look to see who is missing off of the labels list, but wanted to go ahead and mention it. Melody

To avoid confusion amongst the group, would you mind PMing me with what you discover? Thanks so much!

Later I will take a look to see who is missing off of the labels list, but wanted to go ahead and mention it. Melody There are only 48 participants on the original list MichyM sent out. Line #1 is for the headings, while lines #2-49 are the participants. The US label list does have 48 participants. There are 29 on page 1 and 12 at the top of page 2. Immediately following are 7 international addresses. The first 4 are normal size, while the last 3 are teeny tiny (hence my recommendation to hand write those). So 29 + 12 + 7 = 48. The International Label also has 48 participants. There are 20 on page 1, 21 on page 2, and 7 on page 3. So 20 + 21 + 7 = 48. If you still are having trouble with your count, please let me know!

Thanks, **GypsyGirl**. When I opened them in Word, the missing ones weren’t missing at all. In my Word, those 3 at the very bottom were in a tiny font and I thought they were part of the addresses above them. When printing the labels it might not show up that way. Sorry for the false alarm! melody

Hopefully the other US peas will see this and remember to look for those 3 at the very end of the labels!

Question for those in NZ and Australia...
Would it be best to hold on to the cards we are sending until both countries allow USPS deliveries?
How should we handle this? I am afraid to send it out and the card get lost in all the mail not going out.

Based on the link above at the USPS website, it looks like First Class International Mail can go. It's First Class Package International service that is suspended for Australia and New Zealand, as well as what seems to be all Priority Mail service. USPS Link

joblackford asked at her local PO and this is what she said: I was in the post office today and asked about mailing to NZ/Australia and they tested it out for us and said all of the First Class options were unavailable - letters, parcels, everything. Express mailing (very expensive, courier service) is the only option right now and the post office has no idea when that will change. If you do mail the card it will likely be returned to you. Sorry for the bad news.

I am afraid to send it out and the card get lost in all the mail not going out. Further to what I shared on don's thread that you quoted, even when cards and letters were getting through earlier in the pandemic it was still taking 4 or 6 or 8 weeks to get there. So Christmas cards might arrive closer to Valentine's Day if they don't get sent back. My personal feeling is that people might want to take photos and PM their cards to Australian and NZ folks. Not as much fun as getting a real card, but better than nothing.

I'm going to send them off, and hope that the embargo is done by the time they get to wherever.
ETA: I've been doing Postcrossing, and I got a postcard from a lady in Australia.

Crossing my fingers and mailing international cards today. Hope they get there in time, or at least just get there. 🤞
US cards will wait until sometime in December or at least 'til after tom turkey comes and goes. 😉
