Thank you for your support, it means a lot! Before this, I was thinking that it was time to allow someone else organize the exchange. “Spread the wealth” and all that 😉 tc has offered to organize it next year, so unless anyone has any objections, that’s what we’ll do ——> after we decide on minimum pea participation standards for those who join in. lesley, I’ll send the list out to you within a few hours when I’m at my computer. |

“Access to the FSOT board is restricted to members with at least 50 posts (Junior Member rank) only. Spamming/post-whoring to reach the required number of posts will result in suspension of your account.”

I look forward to all the cards. It was really fun to receive real mail last year.

I looked up mailing deadlines for USPS users. I don't know if they've been posted already, so apologies if they have.
December 6 is the deadline for mailing to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada (incredible).
December 17 is the deadline for mailing to Hawaii
December 18 is the deadline for mailing to Alaska

In the interest of transparency, this has been my experience with someone who was not pea who wanted to join in our card exchange. Her name is Maria Tomasiewicz. Please note that the name she gave me as the pea who referred her (Nadine Perez) to the exchange is not a participant in our card exchange, nor did she respond to my message in this thread asking her to contact me. I have no idea what Nadine's Pea name is. Could I have dealt with this better and been clearer at the start. Well yes, in hindsight I believe so. I was trying to tiptoe around this to avoid any kind of confrontation. Do I deserve her ire? I don't believe so. Serious question: would someone like to take over organizing the exchange next year? I think it's probably time to pass on the baton

I have been a member of this board for a number of years and also the old board as a mostly lurker, rarely poster. I have participated in the Christmas card swap three or four times now. The first year I did the Xmas card swap, I told Maria about how great it was. I sent out cards and received cards from all over the world. It was Christmas awesomeness coming out of my mailbox and it was exciting checking it everyday to see what new card came and where it came from. She was excited too and wanted to know how she could join in the fun for next year. I told her it was on this forum and to sign up for it. I assumed she actually joined the forum and never thought twice about it. Maria kept missing the deadline to join the swaps but was determined to make it this year. She has boxes of cards sheʻs been saving in her closet for just this purpose. She asked me again this year and I sent her the link and told her to go to the second Christmas Card swap that says ʻUnlimited Holiday Card Swapʻ but she mistakenly clicked on the first one and emailed that one. We know what happened after that. I think there have been misunderstandings on both sides and hopefully my response clears it up here. @michy M Im sorry if this incident made you feel not up to coordinating next years exchange. I know the rule regarding a new member was not in place from the beginning or you would have told Maria that from the first email. My only beef is that our first and last names were used. Could you have used Nadine P and Maria T to call us out? I believe that would have been kinder. We are both dismayed at finding ourselves in 2peas drama when we only wanted to spread and receive Christmas cheer. |
