CLEAR THE LIST UPDATE: $2,000!

Edit 10/14 @noon: still boxes and gift cards coming in, but you guys purchased more than $2,000 worth of supplies for Ms. Aaron. She intends to post a video message thanking you guys in the next week or so-there’s still boxes coming in and she wants to see every thing first.

This could not have happened to a more humble, amazing teacher who I cannot wait to see succeed in her career. You guys have blessed her in ways she couldn’t imagine and she is so so so grateful.

This was very difficult for her to process but she sent me the sweetest text several hours later. I know many things are still coming in, but she does want to record a thank you video for me to post in the future.

Final edit befofe the crap comes in, most of which looks like Tuesday and Wednesday. These kids are going to think it’s Christmas 😂

Added a few things for her, but she really is a minimalist. And then some books for kids of color, since that’s the primary demographic at the school. Also learned while at her house today she uses a lot of laminating pouches so added a ton of those. No pressure to buy anything.

I will absolutely be taping her response! It will take a while to get the room set up with everything but when we do, I’ll show you guys the before and after.

I’ve never been more excited for a surprise in my entire life. I can’t imagine being a second year (first year virtual during a pandemic) and a bunch of strangers believe in me so much they did this for me.

And, cue my tears again ❤️❤️❤️

Edit 4-she mentioned a few more things (for her!) as I was leaving her house. I will update the list ONE LAST TIME when I get home and let you guys know. This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever thought of and I am so incredibly appreciative of you guys. Started with this board when I was in HS, and y’all have always guided me in every stage of my life. You have blown me away tonight. I am truly in tears and y’all know I’m bitchy on the side so that’s saying so much! 😂

Okay. She mentioned a few things, namely puzzles and STEM toys, and I added those. I’m not adding anything else! You guys have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of items and I am BLOWN AWAY. Sitting beside her as she lesson plans (on a Sunday) pretending I’m going to ask admin what she needs as I add it to the wishlist is the most amazing feeling EVER. She has absolutely no idea and I truly want to cry. Thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. I cannot wait to update you on her reaction AND THE KIDS!!!!! They’re going to be SO excited!!

At this point, there’s nothing left to add! I didn’t add everything at first because I didn’t want to be greedy but you guys are AMAZING. I am truly so humble that I know you guys and all that you do for everyone in this community. I did add some gift cards by request.

To see this teacher give it her all from 6:30am until 7pm every single day in her second year of teaching is so incredibly moving. She’s so incredibly open to suggestions and always pushing herself to want to do better. Her heart is as pure as it comes when it comes to these kids. The room she’s in, most people end up quitting. She has zero desire to quit. I won’t let her quit. I will continue to be her mentor until she’s ready to pass it along and mentor someone else.

Thank you all so much. I am not the giving type, I sat on this for a while. But I already anticipate so, so, so many tears this week when she realizes the sheer extent of this. I cannot wait to share her reaction with you all. I’m so excited to see it myself.

Hi Peas! It's been a while but I needed a little break from the board. I am back with an incredibly special request--one that is actually keeping me up at night.

As some of you know, I am a school psychologist in a district where nearly every student is free and reduced lunch eligible. I typically serve 2-3 schools a year. This year I'm at a brand spanking new building with technology I don't even know how to work. And I'm at what I'm pretty sure is the oldest school in the district. Well over 100 years old.

I was asked to consult with a second year Kindergarten teacher. This is her first full year in person with the students, she never did her student teaching because of the 2020 school closure, and the district didn't provide her with a mentor. Yet, her heart is HUGE. She loves those kids with all her heart. Still she shows up to work at 6:30AM and leaves at 7:00PM. Every. Single. Day.

Here's a small snapshot of that class.



It's a huge, huge mess. Things have been left by teachers who were in that class over 20+ years ago. Not even teaching items-I found a coat and other personal items that aren’t hers. The furniture is falling apart. It's old and needs a coat of paint. She's so incredibly meant to be a teacher and I don't want her to be one who quits before the end of five years like so many day because of lack of support. So I refuse to give up on her!

I'm huge at going home when my contract hours end, but I've been staying a few nights a week helping her to make rhyme and reason of her room, clean things up, trash nasty things that I can't figure out why someone thought it was cute to leave behind....the list is endless. It is so so so much; but there's also so much she needs to organize things!

I've started an Amazon Teacher list for her based on things she keeps telling me she wished she had.. She has absolutely no idea and I don't plan to tell her. The address is set to the school so the stuff will just roll in!

I've never asked for a single cent on this board, but I am please BEGGING you with all my pea green heart to clear as much as the list as possible! Organizational items are the top things that she needs right now I want to be able to show you guys an amazing before and after transformation.

In the event you want to add to the classroom theme, it's Dinosaurs. And it's super cute. Anything cutesy dinosaur related she would love as well.

I seriously could cry. Been on this board since 2001 and you guys are truly the best and most giving community I belong to. My heart is so happy this morning, she has SO many boxes coming this week. The kids are going to be so excited too.
