I took a photo of today’s haul and will add it tomorrow. That is sooo not going to work for me! I can wait in the pictures but I need details on her reaction! She was absolutely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of boxes. Took over an hour to open them all. She loved all the sweet messages but you could tell by the look on her face she couldn’t believe STRANGERS did this for her. It was actually quite humbling to watch. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for doing this, I think I may have enjoyed this almost as much her. I love the thought of her face when she discovered almost 50 packages waiting for her. I’d imagine she’s the talk of the school this week.

I completely missed this the first time around, but I just helped clear most of the rest of the list. What an amazing gesture on your part, and of course the Peas came through. I have so much respect for good teachers ❤️❤️❤️.

More boxes today! I’m pretty sure one of them is the easel! I haven’t been down there yet today.
Will add photos of the boxes later! It will take a while to go through and organizer though!
Also, the music teacher made hooks for their bookbags! I’m so excited about how this is all coming together!

The first thing I've done (after each long day of teaching kindergarten)this week is to come home and check on Kayla and her boxes. So cool.

PIC-TURES! PIC-TURES! PIC-TURES! (That is me chanting lol) Dani-Manilol. I’m sorry. It’s been a super challenging week at work with some pretty sad events that have taken up all my time (and energy from feeling drained by how crappy-no shitty-life can be sometimes). But I’ve been taking them, I swear! Yesterday we were able to move things around and finally put down her rug for the kids!! They’re going to be SO excited this morning. She looked around yesterday and you can tell she was clearly moved by it all. ❤️ “It’s finally starting to look like a classroom.” I PROMISE! PHOTOS THIS AFTERNOON! And sooooo many before/after to come in the next few weeks! I’ll be bumping this thread a lot.

Oh so thankful it is beginning to look like a classroom. That is AWESOME, and such a wonderful feeling. I remember my daughter being so excited when she was able to get to that point.

More boxes came in today.
Never seen someone so excited over headphones for students ❤️❤️❤️
The kids excitement seeing the carpet down and things moved around and alllllll that space was AMAZING!!!!
Today we’re going to start sorting through things in the closet and organizing and throwing stuff out. Tomorrow is a teacher work day so that’s our goal all day.
I was going to post a picture but the districts Internet is down. Promise when I get home tonight and on my laptop I will!
Some of you have asked if she needs anything else? Yes, but we are both overwhelmed with your generosity right now so it can wait. Plus she has over $100 worth of gift cards.
Thank you all. She seemed so delighted today seeing it all come together!

Cue utter confusion and hints of jealously.Another 20 some boxes today! 👍🏽 I was a teacher in my last life. While most teachers are lovely helpful people, there are always a few who….well…just don’t have the kindness gene. One year, in a school with four classroom per grade, a new teacher was hired for first grade. Over the summer, the other three in that grade went into the new teachers classroom and took every usable item—completely wiped the room out of blocks, books, and basically all the good stuff. And they filled it with all their cast off leftover unwanted items. They even took her desk, and left an old broken desk in its place. The principal at some point was aware of what went on, but he was a bit afraid of this particular clique, (all union reps in a very strong union) and he chose to order the new teacher replacement supplies rather than confront the issue. But of course that took awhile, and she taught the first two or three months as a brand new teacher in a completely empty classroom. This was pre internet of course, but how I would have loved to help that young woman out this way! I think part of the fun I had shopping for your young friend was in retaliation for that new teacher I knew many years ago. I’m not saying that’s what happened in this story, but if it did, than the jealousy might just be part of a life lesson.

I was out of town when this thread started, so missed the chance to join in on the list.
I love this so much. It makes a difference for a deserving teacher - and all the students in that room.
If you come up with more things she needs once things are all in and organized, I’d be happy to help out.

Have you ever shopped for school supplies at Foremost? I used to teach in Chesterfield, and I got GREAT deals there (moved away in 2012 so not sure how it is today).
Anyway, this was the time of year I often found a lot of school stuff there. They used to ship for several school supply companies, and I had lots of pocket charts, manipulatives, paper products, etc. that I got for 60-90% off. I loved getting 12-packs of Ticonderoga-Dixon pencils for 25 cents per pack! They were usually selling there summer shipping salvage in September/October, and we t usually include def the late summer school shipments.
I’m not sure if the store is still open or not, but it was located on Midlothian Turnpike. I’m not sure they would have as much now since there haven’t been as many goods being shipped and there is probably less salvage for Foremost Shipping to sell in the warehouse.
The downside is the ownership of the company. It belongs to Elaine Cho’s family, and of course she is married to Mitch McConnell. If I still lived there I would probably have to boycott, cheap pencils or not.
