frozen grapes?
We grew up eating frozen grapes, they were a real treat in summer.
I bought some grapes the other day and put half of them in the freezer. DD's boyfriend had never heard of eating frozen grapes. He tried one but hated the texture and couldn't eat it. DD and I were like - how can you hate the texture? It's like little icy pole (popsicle / ice lolly) balls! DSO refused point blank to even try them.
When I was a kid we also cut up oranges into segments and put them in the freezer too. I mentioned it to dad the other day, and he said that he used to do it when he was a boy, but they didn't freeze very well in the ice box (no fridge or freezer back then).
So how many of you have tried frozen grapes? 🍇 And how many of you have never tried it but will now?

We currently have 2 gallon zip bags full of grapes in our freezer! Lol
It’s one of our favorite snacks.

Never. But I’d happily try them.

I've heard of them as a diet snack - a little burst of sweetness without any calories to speak of if you're craving something. I did try them but they didn't grab me particularly so I haven't done it since.

I cut mine in half before freezing and then use as edible ice cubes as well as just eating from the freezer. I am on restricted fluids so these are a nice cooling treat for me.

I like them, but not completely frozen. A soft frozen Kinda more like a frozen coke frozen.
But I also like to chew soft ice, like sonic ice.

My mother is Australian in fact...maybe it's an Aussie thing? lol. Anyway, yes we always had them stashed in the freezer. By the time I'd had my kids I'd forgotten about freezing them, until one time when the kids were old enough not to choke on them and we were visiting my parents...my mom pulled some out of the freezer and my kids loved them. So I started doing it at home. My dd still freezes them for herself.

Yes as kids. Now just for my wine on hot summer nights. Or any other frozen fruit that’s in the freezer.

I admit I've only used frozen grapes to chill my wine. Never occurred to me to actually eat them.

We do freeze grapes, but as others have mentioned, we cut them in half first, typically. We use them as both a snack and as ice cubes.

We've always occasionally frozen them. One of my grown dd's loves them and we pretty much always have grapes in the freezer

I have, but I think I was expecting something more when I first tried them. I don’t find them any more or less treat like than a grape from the refrigerator.

I choked on an unfrozen grape last year, while working from home. Thank God ds was home and is cpr/first aid certified because he had to perform the Heimlich maneuver on me.
So, in short, I have not had frozen grapes since I was a child and I wont have them now!
Also, just a PSA, when I was choking, I was able to speak and breathe, although it was difficult. It had to do with where the grape was lodged, but that was not going to resolve itself without outside intervention. So, contrary to popular belief, it is possible to be choking and be able to breathe!

I’ve used them in beverages but don’t prefer them as a snack. I hate chewing on super cold things. It doesn’t hurt my teeth. It’s just a preference. I’m not an ice chewer at all. I’m not even a big fan of ice cream for the same reason.

I remember once or twice freezing grapes for the kids when they were little on a super hot day if we were going to be out and taking snacks. Otherwise no, but I love grapes and just pop them in the fridge to eat.

I am totally obsessed with Muscat grapes at the moment, and spend a fortune on them. It hadn’t occurred to me to freeze them, but I am going to go and stick some in the freezer right now! They are unbelievably juicy so it will be interesting to see what they’re like.

I have not eaten them. I’ve heard people talk about how much they love them for years, though. Lol. I have grapes in the fridge right now and that’s how I like them. I won’t bother trying freezer grapes because nothing frozen really appeals to me -I hate popsicles, slushees, that type of thing. I don’t chew ice and I’m not even really into ice cream besides on pie.

I always eat my grapes frozen. When I bring them home, I wash them and put them in the freezer...it is the way I prefer to eat them. Yum!!

They are so refreshing on a really hot day. Frozen watermelon balls are too! You know, I've always thought about trying frozen watermelon, but have never actually done it. Although we do have a frozen fruit mix for smoothies that has watermelon in it. I have just bought a watermelon, I'm going to go and make some balls to put in the freezer right now. I choked on an unfrozen grape last year, while working from home. Thank God ds was home and is cpr/first aid certified because he had to perform the Heimlich maneuver on me. That must have been terrifying!! I'm so glad your son was home to help you.

I’ve never had them, probably because I don’t like them unfrozen either (unless they’re squashed and in a glass). I do like frozen pineapple.
