S/o how many nieces and nephews do you have

5 nephews and 2 nieces. All are adults now.

Two of the nephews are on my husband’s side and he usually hands them some cash if we see them on Christmas day. My side of the family typically draws names for a gift exchange. So sometimes we’re buying for a nephew and niece, and sometimes not.

4 adults. at this point, none of them will have kids, and my own kids won't have kids.. so the family will not continued. there is a slight chance that could change. but not my kids.

8 -  5 on DH's side and 3 on my side. They range in age from 23 to 10 years. The 23 year old ( on DH's side) has now moved in with her fiance) I will be buying the 23 year old a joint present with her fiance. The other seven I will be buying individual gifts for.

2 nieces, and that's all we're likely to ever have. I have no siblings and DH has one who is divorced and unlikely to have more kids. The girls are still very young, so we buy for them and the sibling does buy for my kids. I'm not sure what we'd do in a large family, though.

I have 7, all adults and all married but 1. I also have 12 great neices/nephews.

My two kids are the youngest grandchildren and eight years younger than their next closest cousin. For years and years I bought birthday, Christmas, graduation, and wedding (including 2 or 3 second marriages) gifts. Until I had had enough of them being happy to get the gifts but couldn't even acknowledge that they received it, much less a verbal thank you.

My kids stopped being acknowledged by my bothers/SILs after they were christened at a few weeks old. My sister acknowledged my kids until she died ten years ago.

Both of my children have graduated high school and 1 college without so much as a freaking card from my siblings.

I had started making quilts and blankets for the greats but even those went unacknowledged even when I gave them in person. If your child is old enough to speak, they are old enough to say thank you when prompted and the fact that you couldn't even be botherd to tell your child to say thank you showed me it really didn't mean anything.

BTW the one exception to that was my great nephew that when he got his quilt he got so excited and was like thankyouthankyouthankyou over and over again.

I have 3 ages 21,19 and 13. Last year was the first year we did not buy gifts and did not get together. I don’t think we are getting together this year either - and I think I am done buying gifts.

DH’s side: 2 F, 1 M. All adult. We have no relationship with them due to their mother.

My side: Also, 2 F, 1 M. The adult F shuns us, as does her mother and my mom. It breaks my heart, as she spent so much time at our home when she was younger. The other 2 are under 5. Thankfully, this sister is following in my footsteps regarding the cult we grew up in. It’s wonderful to have little ones in the family again.

2 nieces and 2 nephews all under 12. We buy them each one gift for Christmas.

My side of the family - 10 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 42 down to 8, and 4 great nieces aged from 21 down to 4 months. DH’s family - 4 nephews and a 2 month old great nephew.
We no longer buy presents for birthdays or Christmas, party due to age and party due to the cost of sending things half way around the world - and that was pre-pandemic, which has just made the logistics near impossible.

That's a complicated question. My parents were divorced. Here is our family dynamic:

I have two full siblings (they are twins). One has two children, one has two biological, one adopted, and two foster kids.

I have four half siblings. Only one has kids so far (2 kids).

My mom remarried and I have two step-siblings. They each have two kids.

My dad died and my stepmom remarried. Her husband has three kids (I consider them stepsiblings?). Two of them have three kids, one two so far.

So, in total there are 21 nieces/nephews (not counting my four kids, but also counting the two foster kids).

Each side does something slightly different with gift giving. On my mom and stepdads's side, we usually have the kids draw names. At my stepmom's side we don't draw names and we don't buy for nieces/nephews. However, the year before last I noticed that the stepsiblings gave each others kids gifts. I was a little put off by that. When I was growing up we would go to my stepmom's extended family for Christmas (they have been together since I was 5 or 6 and my brothers were 2 or 3). All of the other kids would have a lot of gifts to open from their aunts and uncles and grandparents. My brothers and I usually got one small gift from the grandparent. It was really awkward and uncomfortable when others were unwrapping presents for a long time and we just sat and watched.


I understand that we live farther away and are not as close to the stepsiblings but I think it would be more sensitive to others for them to exchange their gifts separately rather than at the family gathering if not everyone is included in that. 

I have 9 all 16 and under. I grew up in a big family though. My mom is one of 10 and dad is 1 of 9, so it was never a thing growing up. We have done different things like drawing names, but we don’t currently buy for the nieces and nephews.

16. I’m one of 4, my one sister has 8 kids (the oldest is married), brother has 4 and other sister and I each have 2. Then dh’s brother has 2. We no longer do cousin/niece-nephew gifts on my side. We do on dh’s.

I have four- one on my side. My brother married a woman with a child - he was around 7 when they married. And my sister has no kids by choice.

Dh has four sisters and there are 3 (2 nieces/1 nephew) on that side.

I'll still answer zero. That's the only thing I don't like about being an only is there was no chance to have a niece or nephew. I have a lot of cousins but I don't do regular gifts - just graduations, weddings, births and an occasional surprise.
