I sorted my March photos yesterday. I've been struggling with the idea of project life right now because everything just feels a bit meaningless right now. And you know I'm not thinking it's meaningless anymore. I have to find a way to document my current memories despite losing my child. My life is still going on. And I need to get on with it. March is before her death, so I am going to baby step my way through it. This weekend I'll probably print the photos and stick them in pockets. Sort through my cards, maybe do some journaling for March. And then we will see if I can make it through April. Do what you can, take a break or whatever works for you. There is no right way to grieve. I cannot completely understand what you are going through. I have a hard time scrapping the hard. I put a funeral program in a sheet protector and leave it for a while. Sometimes I don't come back and sometimes I come back a few years later and scrap when I'm ready.

My FIL passed away early last year. Late last year I was able to take some of the journaling I'd written at the time and make a page with it that felt special enough, but the week of his funeral is still on my "to be completed" list. I've got the program in a pocket, but nothing else is done yet. I plan to do the page, but even if it never happens, what I've done is ok.

Update: I tried. I really did. But I still have to get to the photos for about half of the 10 weeks of catch-up in my memory planner. It's just pas 10PM here and we're on the second half of the wine bottle. Time for me to stop cutting and adhering small photos. Nothing's going to be straight if I continue! (and my printer already "swallowed up" a couple of pages wonky when I finished printing the journaling so erm... enough funky business) I'll finish the photos this weekend for sure. Was a little too ambitious with catching up 10 weeks under 5 days but I gave it my best. I hope the PL catch-up vibes are going strong with anyone needing them! You got this. Every page done is a victory in itself.

I did a 12x12 page last night and a 6x8 page. I organized and mapped out my March pages too and came up with another 6x8 story page. So I think I'm going to try going into my computer and typing some journaling onto clear sticker sheets.

March is done and about half of April but for the past month when I try to work on it I've got nothing. It sucks because I really want to play and get some things done but when I get everything out I just can't get anything accomplished

My PL is caught up - thinking of starting a travelers notebook size today for some random Hannah memories/stories.

I've still been working on my two PL albums (2019 and 2022). I just finished March for both years and already have April photos printed for 2019. I'm hoping to be caught up by the end of June if possible. But then I'll probably fall behind again as I follow the community in WITL.

I posted them to Instagram if you want to look

I wanted to do project life but I only got one month done. Focusing on a good memory for each week helped distance myself from the pain. For the funeral week I had pictures of the little second cousins playing and at the petting zoom. I wrote about the fun they had and said my mom would have loved to see them playing. Someday I may go back to the project life for that year. The favourites are enough for now. I have other years with nothing done to focus on.

In the past years there have been hard things to document in my PL and to be honest I had to wait quite a while before I was able to print out those photos. It's OK. There are no rules.

Me: I'm going to just do my memory planner this year! That'll be PL. Me 6 months into the year: Alriiiight, let's print some 3x4 photos and take out the PL cards! Yep, I just started. PL truly is my Achilles heel. It's never too late to begin your album. If you've been hesitant, just go for it. You're in good company in this thread.

I finally printed out most of my April photos last night and got them into page protectors along with a whole lot of pocket cards and a couple of very specific embellishments I know I want to use. I have one story still to print, and have empty page protectors in my album for it, I just need to decide how many of the photos to include.
Today I'm hoping to get all the May photos printed, but won't be surprised if the lure of playing with pretty things wins.

My new favourite thing to do when I don't want to resize a movie poster/book cover to fit 3x4 is to print it 4 inches high but whatever width it comes out to without cropping. Then add a strip of vellum to stamp on (date, sentiment, price of the cinema ticket right now/said book) to the side to fill the gap and repeat the same configuration on the back (just double up on the vellum for the stamped/printed/handwritten bit on the other side not to show up). Love that ghosty vertical element. It makes the spread breathe a little and adds an easy but intriguing twist. Not sure if this makes much sense but it's almost midnight and may have had a couple of screwdrivers tonigt...

Last night, me and my husband saw Garth Brooks in Salt Lake City. His last time coming to our state. Who knows? They retire and come back quite a bit. It was a splurge for us. I last saw him in 1998! The best part? TRISHA YEARWOOD CAME ON STAGE AND SANG SHE'S IN LOVE WITH THE BOY!!!! Total surprise. Aw, the teen memories. One of the first CD's I bought. They also sang Shallow. Oh my. swoon. I've always loved her voice. I prefer her singing How Do I? Much more to Leann Rimes. It was hot. Started, in the 90's, but thank goodness for the wind! We were packed in like sardines in the football stadium. Glad we splurged. I'm counting it as Father's Day and our anniversary. What's funny is I'm kind of meh about recent country music, but the music of the 90's and earlier? There are really good artists. Anyway, I'm going to be borrowing a few photos from the internet because we were in the nose bleed seats. Thank goodness for the jumbo tron screens.

Forgot to add, just received my August 2021 photos and realized, there's a folder I missed with additional photos on my laptop.

I've been Garth & Trisha fans for way too many years.. I still have yet to see either in concert, but it's on my list.

I don't like country music (except for Dolly, Johnny & Willie) but I would like to see this concert. They played about 5 miles from my house but I didn't want to be around so many people so I missed it.

So glad you splurged and had a beautiful walk down memory lane with your husband! It's so nice to remind ourselves of all the great times we've had through reliving music. Did you find the photos you wanted from the concert online?

He puts on a good concert! So glad you splurged and had a beautiful walk down memory lane with your husband! It's so nice to remind ourselves of all the great times we've had through reliving music. I've enjoyed her cooking show and I'm really not into watching cooking shows of any type. We make her cheesecake recipe with the strawberry lime sauce all the time.

I finally finished January 2021. I doubt I'll ever make another page dedicated to a meme again, but you never know! I don't love how the house and senate cards turned out, but I don't want to fix them. MTG photo is sideways, but it seemed fitting. I put a copy of the inauguration poem in the album.
