Alright so I got my supplies in for pocket style scrapbook memory keeping. BIG questions - do you all do a title page or do you just start the album with the pockets? Mine is event based per kid, so not daily, weekly, or monthly. I do a title page. Sometimes it's a bunch of filler cards and other times it is the year printed or stamped or using stickers on a sheet of patterned paper or cardstock cut down to the pocket sizes.

1. As we are now 2/3 into January, what are your main stories/focuses for PL this month so far? 2. Anything you still want to include? Anything you still need to photograph for January? I've written notes but haven't really looked at what photos I have or am missing.
3. Are you doing a recap page this month? What's going into your recap page? TV series, movies, music? Small details of life? I often use these types of details when I have spare spaces on a page or need to fill an empty side of a page protector. I've got some notes of what we're watching etc. Jan has been pretty quiet (our focus has been on non-photo stories with my parents health and other things that I'm not sure if I'll include in my album) so it's likely I'll include some of these.
4. What's your main obstacle to documenting January right now? Struggling with journaling, photography, card selection, including other POV? Indecision. I think I'm going to wait until I'm out of Jan and get a better picture of what the month looked like, and how some things pan out, before I decide what to include or how to document it. Until then, I'm working on my 2021 album, and some pages in my 2010 album.

BIG questions - do you all do a title page or do you just start the album with the pockets? I usually include the date and find it a good place to use the "new starts" or "fresh beginnings" type cards. Sometimes I'll include photos of us, but often not; sometimes I'll include some general thoughts for what I'm hoping for in the year ahead. Mostly though it's just a place to play with product.

And is there a brand of TRUE 4x6 and 3x4 pocket pages? Because mine from Scrapbook.com (their brand) are bigger than both. Quite annoying. In my experience, the smallest pockets were from Becky Higgins but I'm not crazy about the plastic quality (or the seams). The disadvantage is that as soon as you add some embellishments, even quite flat, they become too tight. I've literally had to recut cards or photos when I used the BH PL PPs because I added vellum with my Tiny Attacher and then some alpha stickers and a tiny wood veneer heart. My favourite thing about the BH design A page protectors is that one 3x4 pocket that is narrower than all the other 3x4 pockets on the page protector

Got my first 2 done. I think I am going to do a 2021-2022 album. Not much went on last year so I will be able to combine those years. Heck it may even be a 2020-2022 album LOL

1. As we are now 2/3 into January, what are your main stories/focuses for PL this month so far? Just what happens in the weeks. I do include some things of adult dds at times and this month they have been in Hawaii together so I am including some of their adventures.
2. Anything you still want to include? Anything you still need to photograph for January? I do weekly so I just photograph daily life, whatever happens or doesn’t- haha- like a boring week. I really just like looking back at daily life, usually much more so than events.
3. Are you doing a recap page this month? What's going into your recap page? TV series, movies, music? Small details of life? I do weekly spreads so I don’t do/need recaps. I would add the things you mention on a lighter week if I need more to talk about to fill a pocket.
4. What's your main obstacle to documenting January right now? Struggling with journaling, photography, card selection, etc: I had two issues - One was really journaling as I had more to say than my handwriting would allow but my new printer arrived yesterday and after a bit of swearing I got it set up. I just use my iPhone to type journaling on pages then wirelessly print. I’m printing right on to PL cards or on to clear labels to go over patterned cards. Love it a lot! The other issue was not having enough space for everything I wanted to include last week. I fixed that by adding a small pp into the layout

I'm really hoping this weekend I can get to October and November 2021. If I can get those two months done, then I will be caught up. Also, this morning I ordered two of those storage boxes on Scrapbook.com for my cards. I'm looking forward to taking apart the remnants of my monthly kits from last year and organizing things better. I am debating going to Michaels and getting another metal cart. I just find that thing so handy. I'm trying hard to get stuff better organized since starting project life. I also ordered three Distress Oxide sprays this morning. I am thinking I want to be able to make more of my own project life cards and those seem like they could be fun to color my own cut cards and then use some of my new stamps to do some stamping. I am still on the lookout for a lined stamp, if anyone knows where I might find one. I like to handwrite my journaling but without lines, I always feel like I'm going off kilter. LOL! At this point, I am drawing them on with a pen and ruler. A stamp would be so much easier. I just saw a variety of lined journaling type stamps at Elle’s studio - the “noted” line. Many were sold out but the original and at least one other were available. I’ve ordered a few things there lately and shipping is very quick.

Just a few more pages to go, elljay , you got this! The finish line is close now... And then off you are doing 2022. No rest for the PL-wicked... Ha! No rest indeed. It is a hamster wheel of documenting that I can't get enough of All of us in this thread:

That and the freakin' splitting outside seams with BH PPs. I had several just open on me for no reason, despite flat-ish embellishing. Especially her 6x12 PPs.

Finally started on my 2022 PL album. I got my title page and a few cards done. I need to print pictures. I’m going for simple this year. I opened my scrapbook.com 6x8 album and pp finally, and wow, the pp feel like much better quality than any of the other brands I own (BH, SC/AE, OA). I subscribed to Elle’s Studio monthly kit because $10 is just awesome, and I’m loving using my stuff from that store. Other than that, I am trying to use up some of my hoard.

I've been working on my first PL...Today I finished printing all my photos from 2019 and placing them in a 9x12 album (monthly). I had originally planned on journaling and embellishing as I went along, but I decided to get all the photos in first, and now I will go back and do the fun stuff.
I absolutely loved going back through my 2019 photos...when the world was "normal" and we were able to travel, enjoy family gatherings, and attend our grandchildrens' birthday parties and school functions. I'm so glad I decided to start this project!

Peapocketlife Pocketpealife Project pea Projectpealife PPL Out of all these hashtags the only one that had lots of posts was PPL. The rest have not been used. I checked instagram for these hashtags to be sure we wouldn't get strange photos showing up. In order of most favorite to least favorite, here is my vote: 1. ProjectPea 2. ProjectPeaLife 3. PocketPeaLife 4. PeaPocketLife 5. PPL

I've been thinking about our hashtag situation over the weekend and the shortest Pea reference I could think up was #2PRojectLife. I think the hashtag was accidentally used on some vintage car post on IG but otherwise, it seems clear and available. I'm happy to go with whatever the Peaple decide. Democracy wins!

Something unexpected to add to my recap page this month: Prime Video's As We See It, a show about 3 autistic adults living together and learning to navigate the world with their aide and loved ones. We binged this. Didn't even know this was coming to Prime Video but got the random recommendation and so happy we gave it a try! Highly recommended. The autistic characters are played by actors on the spectrum, rest assured.

Dd and I want to watch this. Both dd and ds are Autistic are various levels depending on the situation. Dd is 19 and navigating college life. Been eye opening. Highly, highly recommended. It was so good. The characters are very well written. By the end of the 8 (I believe?) episodes, both my SO and I were completely attached to all 3. Can't wait see what comes next for them. It's not just about how difficult it is to live with autism and all the extra challenges, it's also about creating a cast you can't help but root for and want to see more of. Excellent storytelling all around. I think you and your DD will really enjoy this. I think your DD, especially, will find comfort in seeing storylines she can relate to on the screen and brought to life in a way that brings the NT viewers closer to them, cheering for them. I couldn't not binge this.

1. As we are now 2/3 into January, what are your main stories/focuses for PL this month so far?
This has been a slow month for me. I think the main focus is just going to be a recap...little details, books read, shows watched, etc.
2. Anything you still want to include? Anything you still need to photograph for January?
I am way behind on taking photos this month. I wanted to have a photo of myself each month, and I have yet to take the first selfie of 2022, so that is still on the list.
3. Are you doing a recap page this month? What's going into your recap page? TV series, movies, music? Small details of life?
Most of my PL spread will likely just be recap with the basics. Omicron is rearing its ugly head here, so we really haven't been doing much and my photos reflect it!
4. What's your main obstacle to documenting January right now? Struggling with journaling, photography, card selection, etc:
My biggest obstacle is photos for sure. I just haven't taken much of anything. I don't know that I need a full spread of my daily Wordle, but I certainly have screenshots of it!

I am currently finishing up my 2021 PL using "Hello Today" from Simple Stories. Overall, I like the look, but some of the months of paper are quite bright and it looks a bit busy with my photos. I bought enough of the line to use it again for this year's PL. I am wondering about printing all of my 2022 PL photos in black and white to give my spreads a more cohesive look. Has anyone done this? Any regrets?
I do my spreads monthly, and I really want to be consistent so I'm going to decide one way or another in the next week or so.
I also do traditional layouts in my album after the monthly PL spread and those might have colour photos, but I wanted all the PL spreads consistent.

PL newbie here. What do you do in your PL when your entire month is a bust? We started off January in quarantine due to holiday family exposure (everyone took a home rapid test the morning we got together and tested negative, but one person got their PCR test results several days later, and was positive for Covid). Then my husband got sick (non-Covid).
After 3+ weeks of staying home (we're senior empty nesters), Sunday I went to my daughter's house to have a scrapbooking day. Yesterday my daughter called to let me know her husband woke up not feeling well, so she gave him a rapid test...and he was positive. I had kissed him hello and goodbye. I scheduled DH and me for a PCR test on Thursday. Thank goodness my entire family is fully vaccinated!
Meanwhile, I have nothing to scrap for this month.

What do you do in your PL when your entire month is a bust? First of all, I'm so sorry you've been having such a crap start to the year. I've got my fingers crossed for you that your PCR comes back negative. This coronavirus is no walk in the park, even 2 years in. For "bad" months/periods, the best thing to do is to focus on what your life actually looked like if you still wish to document what happened: include the posters for the TV series and movies you watched to pass the time, photograph the nooks of your house where you spent most of your time (favourite chair to read, balcony/garden spot you went to get some vitamin D, set up your camera in your kitchen with the timer to capture a picture of yourself baking/cooking, etc.). Little details worth adding: you and your husband's house slippers by the front door, playing cards or doing a puzzle together, a screenshot of the family test results at the start of the month, text message exchange with a loved one. Don't let this month of hibernating get you down: you lived, you did stuff. Granted, in your home mostly, but it's still life and worth remembering. Have you considered filling a page protector with a focus? Maybe cost of life right now? Or your wishes and goals for 2022? Your go-to quarantine recipe(s)? Your morning and evening routines? There is PL material there, I promise. You just have to find it.

I wanted to have a photo of myself each month, and I have yet to take the first selfie of 2022, so that is still on the list. Yes, definitely get one decent selfie/portrait of yourself each month! It's a must. You still have 6 days to get to it. I don't know that I need a full spread of my daily Wordle, but I certainly have screenshots of it! Haha, I definitely plan on including one Wordle screenshot this month. But hey, why not a full spread if you feel like it? (It's so addictive without being time-consuming, love it!) I am wondering about printing all of my 2022 PL photos in black and white to give my spreads a more cohesive look. Has anyone done this? Any regrets? So, my advice would be to switch up the product rather than your photos. I've done heavy B&W spreads before and there's a few where I really wish I'd balanced the B&W shots with colour photos more. You won't regret toning down your Simple Stories line a bit (diluting it with some white cardstock or other, more neutral, stuff from your stash, not necessarily excluding it completely) but you might really regret only having B&W photographs of your life. Colours are important, too.

PL newbie here. What do you do in your PL when your entire month is a bust? I've definitely had those months too, Margie. I'm so sorry to hear about you and your husband. Hopefully your family recovers well from COVID and you get some negative PCR results. While it is a bummer, it is so much of our life right now and something so different. It can be worth including some of it. I have put in photos of my rapid test boxes and results, taken screen shots of my PCR bookings and results, photos of our masked faces, etc. They aren't necessarily great memories, but it's all a big part of what we are living right now. On light photo months, I've also taken more screenshots of news headlines and journaled more about what is happening in my province and city. And also just taken more time to write about what I am doing, even if I don't necessarily have the photos for it.

Those are all great recommendations, sleepingbooty! Thank you so much for the ideas and encouragement!! My pleasure, Margie! You got this. Don't forget to snap some photos of your PCR experience on Thursday. Have we narrowed down a hashtag yet? I don't think so... Love it, jediannie! So many pops of colour. You balanced the colours well by having that darker Christmas tree photo on the left-hand top row and that B&W photo on the right-hand bottom row. I wonder when we'll get to the point of looking at our Covid-19 test photos like a thing from the past and we'll be saying: "Remember when...?" I have a documenter IG account all set up but I haven't actually jumped in and started following or posting yet. I'm so on the fence just because I'm an inconsistent sharer. Ugh. I should just go for it...
