I refused to discuss anything with my XH after we sat down with two copies of our list of assets, decided between us who would get what and we both initialed after each asset was assigned to a person. He agreed to sign off my pension and my 401. I agreed to take the debt and no child support. He got all the toys like his Harley and our vacation property. He conveniently lost his copy when my lawyer called his lawyer about it. My attorney was thrilled with the deal I negotiated. His lawyer was not so happy with it. My attorney asked why I agreed to sign off the child support until she saw our tax returns. I always made at least double what he made. What would I have done with his $20 a week?
He tried to renegotiate and I was like talk to the hand or my attorney because I’m over it. Why pay an attorney if you have to listen to your STBX BS? Just walk away.

I haven’t read all of the post yet. I’ve been busy with my thoughts and feelings as I’ve found out I am needing to have surgery again. I went in to see my gyn. He said that he was pretty sure the only fix was surgery and he was not the one and told me I needed to find a urologist and he could recommend one or I could find one but whichever, he would send over the referral. I barely made it out of the office before crying. I sat in the parking lot for what seems like forever. I’m struggling with this and no one knows how much. Sorry to hear that. I’m glad he referred you to someone he felt could take care of your issue. Vent away or cry away here. |

His lawyer says my firm likes to split hairs... Maybe the lawyer saying that just likes to blame his fees on time eaten up by unnecessary “hairsplitting” by the opposing lawyer. Or maybe they’ve been bested by all that pesky hairsplitting… |
