I'm at 76. However, I fully admit that the vast majority of them are short, fluffy romance novels.

53. Just barely made one per week this year. ETA: I just noticed this on Good Reads: "Avg. Books Pledged: 53" I pledged 52 and read 53, so apparently I am extremely average.

I'm at 76. However, I fully admit that the vast majority of them are short, fluffy romance novels. Some of mine were books geared to the 10-14 yr old crowd, but I counted them anyway. I love that my youngest still likes me to read aloud before bed, and I figure those are what I read in place of my own books. Heck, if I had been reading my own books, I probably would have read more than just a chapter or two per night.

37 - kinda low, but I did quite a bit of deep reading this year.

41, all audio books. I "read" on my commute. I set my goal low this year, at 20, because I planned to catch up on the last few Outlander books, and other longer books but that did not happen.

Ok, I have some setting wrong in Goodreads. It shows all my books, but says that I only read 15 this year. But if you manually count the books, I’ve read 39. I do need to go in and manually add my audio books. Anyone know what’s up with my count?

Holy smokes - I feel so inadequate - I thought I was doing good because I read 12 (about 1 a month). That is a lot for me in a year. I read 15 this year. My goal was 12. I think went over the goal because I made a conscious effort to reduce internet time. And I'm always thankful for the book threads that help me find new and exciting books to read! The new year goal will be increased to 15. I need to see if I can meet or exceed the past year.

Reading these responses, please remember that short books count. Kids' books count. Audiobooks count. Romance novels count.
Don't let anyone tell you that those kinds of reads are "less than!" You're a reader!

36 which is an accomplishment for me. In fact, it was my kobo’s weekly reading stats clued me into the idea that I should be tested for ADHD - average time reading at one sitting? 5 minutes. It’s all I can manage. So, yeah - 36! Yay me! 😂

I've read 36 which was my modified goal for the year. I started out saying 52, but when I'd only read 6 books by June I knew that was unlikely. 29 of the books were read from September - December so it's not like I'm not a fast reader.

Actual paper books - 16 Audio books - 30
I absolutely love to read, so I became an English teacher. Ironically, I have no time to read because I'm an English teacher (AP Lit = a gazillion papers to correct). It's overwhelming, to be honest.
My 2022 resolution is to read more.

I made an effort to read more this year and to track my reading. I am at 94 books for the year, and I'll finish one more before tomorrow for a total of 95.
At one point I thought I'd reach 100 but I had a hard and demanding November and read almost nothing that whole month. Maybe next year!

For those who read a lot of books, how much time do you spend reading per day? I will often binge read a book in a few days, but then end up neglecting other things because I am engrossed in the book. Then I go a few weeks before getting into another one. I am curious about people's reading habits--when you read, how long you read at a time, do you work, how many kids/activities, etc.

According to Goodreads I’ve read 57 books this year. That is very impressive for me as last year I read 22 books and my 2021 reading goal was 24 books. I also have 2 books in progress and I’ve DNF’d at least 5 books, probably closer to 10.

I set a goal of 20 in Goodreads and finished at 23. I'm pretty happy with myself! I noticed in June that I only had like 5 books read and so I made a point to pick up the pace. I've met my goal the past two years so may up it by a couple but not many.

My Goodreads goal was 25, I'll probably finish #23 tonight so that will be it for me for the year. I retired in October so I'm going to increase my goal for next year to 36.

I'm an avid reader but I don't keep track of the number of books that I read. I average 2 or 3 books a week but now that I've retired, I have more free time on my hands. I have about 350 books on my shelves waiting to be read.

I do need to go in and manually add my audio books. Anyone know what’s up with my count? Have you set a date for all those books? Either started or finished? I had about 15 that were on my read but because I hadn’t put a date on, weren’t included in 2021. I only really started reading again in August. I’ve had a really, really dry couple of years and couldn’t get into anything. I was getting 99p kindle books and wondering why most of them were rubbish. So this summer I just decided to buy the books I want to read and not worry about it (my library doesn’t have a very good online service at all). I’ve read 28 books since August, including the first four Dune books. My favourite new author is NK Jemisin.

106, but I will finish 107 today on my way home from Boston. I'm also working on 108 right now but it's kind of a more involved read (The Overstory) and will take me into 2022. Oh! I loved The Overstory! Yes, a slower, more thoughtful read, but soooo good.

I read 77 books this year. I usually read about 75 per year. For me the trick is to always have a book going. I rarely go more than a day or two between books. I also like to combine audio and kindle books. Being able to listen in the mornings while I get ready for school, but then read later in the evening helps me to finish more books. I’m lucky that I have access to 5 different libraries so I never have to buy a book.

181. I had set my target at 120 as I read a lot due to lockdowns the previous year but have somehow surpassed that number.
