Wow crystalb 8 layouts is amazing! If I get 8 down a month it's a super productive month for me lol. Snow pictures are awesome. I'm cropping today and will be working on my DD. It's barely started so I hope a good chunk of time will see lots of progress on it.

Good luck with the DD joyfulnana - I worked on mine last night and did 7 pages (8x8) but it barely made a dent. Hoping to do some more today but we'll see What's everyone else doing today? scrappy or otherwise?

I am also working on my DD today. Each day has one 4x6 or two 3x4 pockets - so far I've done 4 days. Ice here, church online only. Luckily I'm sitting on my new couch which we've been waiting for since Oct 29. And we got rid of our old one on Dec. 12th, so we sat on kitchen chairs for weeks. Great gramma probably laughing at me for being so spoiled.

Waving hi to everyone! I’m scrapping! Got two layouts done so far, starting on a third today. Just got done taking down some of the Christmas decorations, still have to take down the tree. linda I offered up two challenges - add me to the list of teammates for that. I printed out the list of challenges, and yes, it is overwhelming. I’m just going to pick one and cross it off the list and put the points beside it as I go along. Trying to keep it simple. The keeping track of points is my least favorite part of doing this LOL. I also printed out some of the sketches to do. Got some new Elizabeth Craft Design dies to play with! Be back later.

jjpeapea - yay for a new couch - we finally moved our old ones to the new house in December and it's so nice not to be on camp chairs. Do share your DD if you're comfortable with that - I would love to see it. MDscrapaholic - thanks for posting challenges. Keeping track of points can be time-consuming. What I've been doing is just making my layout and then going down the list to see what challenges it meets. I am keeping them in mind (use nuvos, use dots, use stars, Christmas. Fall...) but not stressing about it.

Hi all! Late to the intro, but we were out of town last weekend enjoying a Christmas celebration with DH's family.
I'm Beth, wife to a fun loving DH and mom to DD26 and DS22. Almost an empty nester as DS is wrapping up his master's degree and getting married this summer. I work full-time at a construction company after life as a SAHM for 24 years.
I scrap both 12x12 and 8.5x11 depending on the theme of my book. Just got an Epson PM 400 so my plan is to fill in the holes of unfinished projects since I can more easily get my hands on the prints.
Never done any of the challenges before and frankly don't quite understand how it all works. Next step is reading through the threads and getting caught up so I can help the team!

welcome anniebeth24 - there's definitely points available for finishing up unfinished projects (UFOs). Challenges - you can count easy peasy which is one point for making the project, one point if you share it, and then a flat number of points based on size. This is a great method if counting points becomes a chore or gets in the way of creativity. The other option is to look through the challenges, pick one or more to work on for your project (or not), and then when it's done, take the make and share points and one point for each challenge it meets (more if the challenge offers more) plus a point for every photo scrapped. And you can do a mix - some counted, some easy peasy. Ask here if you have any specific questions and I'll do my best to either answer them or find an answer for you. Most importantly - have FUN!

Hey all! I’ve been scrapping a TON for various reasons. The best part about that is I’ve been killing off some old kits/collections that didn’t have much paper left. It feels great to use stuff up and make room for new kits. Of course I’m on a spending freeze but still.
I would love to finish scrapping my photos from last spring, and be able to move on to summer. I don’t scrap strictly chronological but I have a huge stack of layouts to put away and April is holding me up.
Welcome to all the new team members! Try not to get too tripped up about points. I just count easy peasy lol but still take inspiration from some of the challenges.

scrappyrabbit - you've been making awesome layouts with those old kits/collections! And you'll have to space for new stuff after the freeze!

The weekend just flew by. Having holidays 2 weekends in a row coupled with a 10 day visit from my mother put me/us behind in house stuff. Most of this weekend was meal prepping, food shopping, laundry, tons of dishwashing 🙄 plus something popped at work so I was dealing with that almost all day. I just finished everything up at 9 and I’m going to work on a layout as a nice relaxing way to end the weekend. anniebeth24 enjoy the PM 400. I received one a few years ago and being able to print quality prints on demand was a total game changer for me. The challenges can be overwhelming at first but I think it will get easier since we’ll be working with the same ones for 3 months. Sometimes I’ll pull the products that earn points on my table as a reminder to use them. I’ll lean into themes when I can…I have a lot of travel pictures so I put in a challenge for, you guessed it…vacation pics. 😂 The points and everything is just for fun. linda I put in 7 challenges.

The challenges can be overwhelming at first but I think it will get easier since we’ll be working with the same ones for 3 months. That's a really good point! I'm sorry you didn't get much time to yourself this weekend. I did get my "down time" weekend - of course, normal chores and groceries got taken care of, but I let a lot of things slide and just took more time to craft and for myself. We got pizza for supper tonight as my final declaration of an easy weekend! My crafty time this weekend was composed of: 1) organization. I made my OWN storage shelves out of foam board and hot glue, to hold my alcohol markers. It will work great, and cost $2.50. 2) cutting, scoring and folding 70 card bases for a friend who makes photo cards. I'm a nice friend. 3) completing the wedding invitations I committed to. MY ADVICE: do NOT offer the best/fiddliest/most layered/most die cut/most ink blended card that you can make, because for sure that is the one they will choose and then you will be stuck making 25 slim-line cards that each take 2 hours to make... I'm dang proud of myself. And while they are not paying for them (they offered. I rejected, offering them as their wedding present. And they are reciprocating anyways, since they are giving me 3 terms of free tap classes. Yes, Mr. Matt is my tap teacher ) 4) working on my Mom's calendar. I'd like to get it to her before January is over!!! Hi @annibeth24@! Glad you have joined us! My method of using challenges: - the challenges I POST are things I know I will do naturally on my pages. Like die cutting! - Complete a couple of layouts, then go BACK through the list and see which challenges I managed to fulfil, and score my layout. - This makes me more familiar with the list, so I start to remember to use some challenges on the next layouts - and it's a continued positive circle that the more I go through and count up points for layouts I've completed, the more familiar I am with the challenges so the more of them I use... But honestly, I never look at the list and specifically choose challenges before I start a layout. Except I might this month, just to get the bonus for completing 50 or more of them!

christinec68 - I think you're right - it will get easier with the same challenges for the whole quarter...as kitbop says, the more times we go through the list, the more challenges will come to mind when making the next layout or card. I just added a heart to the layout I'm working on because I remembered that's a challenge for instance. christinec68 - that does sound like a busy weekend - I was catching up on housework and packing up Christmas decoations this weekend. Glad you found a little time to relax with your scrappy stuff tonight. kitbop - wow - that was a super productive crafty weekend! The wedding invites were a HUGE project - well done on completing them! I've been working on my December Documented album - I'm up to the Sunday before Christmas which isn't nearly as far along as it sounds since a)I go through Epiphany (Jan 6th) and b) there are are a ton of things to document between Dec 22-28th. I am looking at my paper pad in dismay - I can't even see a dent in it yet.

I finished my DD a few days ago so yesterday I officially moved on to other scrappy projects. I mentioned previously that I'm working on some older projects that have long been stalled, and have made some good progress on my 2010 PL, getting two months of photos into pockets and actually making one layout tonight. I'm planning to use some of the many sketches I have saved "to do later" from sketchy Saturday and Sketchtember as well as all the classes I've taken to speed up the decision making, and I'm trying not to overthink my paper choices.
Interestingly, I can see my photo taking style in 2010 is going to drive me crazy before this project is done, I was into super close up shots and often did not take any other photos. I seem to recall that was a trend for a while, at least on the photos used on layouts, and I'm so glad it passed and my photography style evolved.

well done on finishing up the DD Chinagirl828 - that's an awesome start to the new year! Working on older projects ...it's nice to get them finished up but yes, sometimes it's hard to go back in time because styles and trends do change - and so do our skills.

The keeping track of points is my least favorite part of doing this LOL Same - but I like the advice kitbop gave for doing the challenges, I will definitely incorporate that into how I do them! Welcome anniebeth24! crystalb - Glad you were able to get lots done! kitbop - those cards sound awesome, maybe we can get a sneak peak of them? I did a mass photo order from Persnickety once I remembered how to use their website. That website it pretty terrible to use but once I got into a groove I didn't have many problems. And it looks like they got rid of their app on mobile devices so you are forced to use their super clunky website. Anyway, I sent over 100 photos for printing to finish October Daily and December Documented (hopefully). I still need to edit and print photos from last week so I can get my PL started for the year. We're going camping this weekend (as long as none of us get 'rona) so I won't have time to scrap over the weekend so I need to get stuff done this week.

I seriously need to get another batch of photos prepared so the next time my local printer has a sale I can take advantage of it. But do I want to spend the time choosing and resizing photos? Absolutely not!

CONGRATULATIONS everyone! grammadee posted the following in the challenge thread "And the one hundred points goes to... The Paper Posse. Over half their members contributed challenges this quarter. Congrats, Linda. Please pass this news on to your team and add this cool 100 to your quarterly total." Well done!

Yay! we did it! kitbop those cards may be the best/fiddliest, but they are beautiful! Chinagirl828 I went through a phase of taking super close ups too. Lessons learned right I haven't scrapped really at all this month so I'm extra glad we aren't doing the challenges monthly anymore. I need to finish up my DD because my mind has definitely moved on to other projects and regular scrapping. I do the challenges the same way as kitbop - scrap what I'm scrapping then see if it meets any challenges. Usually by the end of the month, they would be cemented in my head, but then we were moving on a to a new month with new challenges. Quarterly is going to be a good fit for me.

Chinagirl828 I went through a phase of taking super close ups too. Lessons learned right Yep, for sure. One of the things I like most about my childhood photos or the photos in my grandparents collection is seeing all the things in the background that give context. I do remember a phase in scrapping where everyone was posting super cropped photos of their kids, and I clearly took that to all the things I photographed. It will be an interesting break amongst my normal photos but I also wonder how much cooler it would have been to have had some of those bigger picture shots, especially since my photos included things like a former workplace.

Woohooo!! It's fabulous we got the bonus points!! kitbop - what a good friend to make all those invitations! Chinagirl828 - wtg finishing your DD and starting to get caught up on older projects. jediannie - did your prints come in yet? Have fun camping! joyfulnana - I feel the same way about the quarterly challenges. I don't scrap too much to keep up with them changing on a monthly basis. I think I did more moving papers around than I have scrapped this week but it's supposed to be super cold on Saturday, so fingers crossed there. I'm struggling with the layout on the table right now - the colors aren't working as I hoped and I am having trouble getting it balanced out and I can't think of a title. It's pictures from the Blues Brothers show at Universal Studios Orlando...if anyone has suggestions For the challenges, I ended up making a list of challenges I'd likely do if I remembered it was on the list...things like tearing, inking etc. I taped it to the wall as a reminder.

Yay team for points for posting challenges. christinec68 did you try really dark papers for your background with the thinnest of light color border around your photos? Just thinking of how that would call attention to the Blues Brothers suits and sunglasses. Just a thought! I finished my December Daily, yay. So then I moved on to making Valentines. I'll go post the valentines on the sharing thread. Wishing health and love to all the Paper Posse.

Chinagirl828 - I so enjoy seeing those background items as well in the older photos and I'm guilty of cropping them out of my photos too often. christinec68 - good idea to have the list of challenges to remember close at hand. Hopefully your layout has come together - I like jjpeapea's suggestion jjpeapea - congratulations on your DD - your valentine cards were gorgeous! I'm still plugging away at my DD - got Christmas Eve finished up last night and am working on the Christmas Day layouts now. Hopefully I'll get it finished over the long weekend. I did some organising in my scrap space last night - DH assembled another 4x2 Kallax for me so I got a bunch of albums put away in it, sorted out a couple of magazine holders where I had dumped memorabilia, sketches, stickers, photos and more - got all those put away and dropped the holders into a donation box. I also sorted out the prints from my last two photo orders and placed a small one to fill in some holes (I picked that up this morning).

I so enjoy seeing those background items as well in the older photos and I'm guilty of cropping them out of my photos too often. It's a tricky balance, right? You don't want the cluttered kitchen counter to distract from the subject of your photo, but in years to come it's seeing a favourite snack or drink that's on the bench, or how the kitchen used to be brown and green with palm leaf wallpaper (yep, totally the kitchen I grew up in) that makes those older photos extra interesting to look at.

I spent a good chunk of time last night sorting through and printing photos for my 2021 PL album. I've nearly got all the photos printed for the year, just the weeks of Christmas and New Year to go. I've dropped everything into page protectors so it's ready to go. I hope to finish the last couple of weeks of printing today then I'll get back to creating.

Chinagirl828 - photo printing isn't nearly as fun as creating but it's definitely needful! Looking forward to seeing your creations. I had a very scrappy long weekend - finished up my DD abum (yay!), made 42 cards from the scraps for next Christmas, and caught up DD15's Girl Scout album. It's going to be nice to switch from 8x8 back to my usual 8.5x11 now (both DD and GS are 8x8). What is everyone working on? I'm not sure what I'm grabbing next - I could work on starting 2022 or finishing 2021 or catching up the older kids album or...so many options

What is everyone working on? After printing most of my remaining photos for 2021 I've started putting some pocket pages together in that album. I've got some gaps all through the year but I still have my Christmas stash out as I want to use as much of it as I can so I can buy more things guilt free later this year, so I've been throwing papers and embellishments into page protectors with my photos so I know what I have left to work with.
