Got my shipping notice. In the past I have waited but I may peek this time. I've never preplanned, just watched and worked on projects at a later date so I don't feel pressure to work quickly.
Just curious. Do any of you get together with others and watch and do the projects? I don't have anyone in my area or group of friends/family to be able to do this.

Last time, I didnt peek or get to the classes until after the actual crop as I had a Nat Geo photography class that was the same weekend (priorities! lol). This time, there are 4 of us getting together at my friends house. Her husband is going to set up the 50" TV and laptop so we can watch the classes and work that way in her studio. We will order in meals in, have drinks, laugh lots and make it a Soul Weekend. If we fall behind, we can pause the class and catch up. We have also decided that the 1st class is at 8am (AB time) and we will start with the 2nd class live and then do the 1st class at the end of the day on replay.

I am not a peeker and have always waited for the unboxing.
A friend signed up for this one, so we’ll dot it together this time. She thinks she will probably peek.

My box arrives tomorrow! I am definitely #teampeek and will try to do the homework before the classes start, but I am also planning to do the classes on replay so I can take my time. Looking forward to learning a lot (I am a longtime scrapbooker but new-ish to card making) and having fun playing with all the of the pretty supplies

I received my box today and opened it! Wow, wow, wow….you will not be disappointed! This is my third card event with them so I am used to the generous amount of high quality supplies. However…this time there is also a big bag of supplies for Friday, the make and take day! We usually do get some stamps and stuff for that day, but this is a HUGE supply for that day. It took me quite awhile just to go through everything!

Got mine Thursday, but waited until today to open it as a "reward". I am looking forward to peeking! Last time, I was nervous because I wasn't sure if it would live up to the hype. It surpassed my expectations. Then I did the scrapbooking event, and I was underwhelmed - it was good value, but nothing "special". Hoping this box wows me again.

Glad I unboxed mine. I received 2 sets of all the make and take projects instead of the bag with the items for the Gina k, lawn fawn, hero arts, and stamp market classes. I emailed Catherine and I know they will take care of it as they have awesome customer service but I’m glad I’m not closer to the event first figuring that out. They mailed out 2000 boxes so I expect some mistakes to happen. I wonder who got the extra set of class kits, we need to do an exchange :-)
Heather
Edited to add I heard from Catherine and I’m going send them the extra back & they will send me the missing kit. I love these events and I think they do an awesome job. This is my third cardmaking one.

Does the book has pictures and instructions for the mini classes on Friday? No, not for the mini classes Friday. Just Saturday and Sunday's full classes. They said they’ll be provided after the live box opening.

I'm a first timer for this event. My thoughts so far (no spoilers!)
1) My box arrived on Thursday and, since I have no restraint, I opened that big box up. Lots and lots of stuff. I was very pleased with the quantity and quality!
2) The vast majority of the stuff is to my style and taste. I expected that, given the manufacturers involved. I will get my money's worth out of it.
3) The wire bound book for the Saturday and Sunday classes is great. Thorough instructions and lots of photos.
My only disappointment is that there were no instructions provided for the Friday make and takes. I hope they will provide links for those of us who are not on Facebook.
So far, so good. I'm excited!

I joined FB for last October’s event with a separate name and email address. I resisted for years. There’s been no difference in ads or email since then. I don’t look at the email account. I don’t know if all SCT info that’s in the Guides and Files tabs is also sent to participants. I’m not saying it’s not - you might want to email to ask - they’re very responsive. A number of participants have also posted ink matching comparisons in those tabs - not that matching is necessary. I look at the book to decide which inks to grab - often Distress Oxides. Sometimes I select a different color scheme. SCT posted on FB that the day after the live unboxing - which is on FB - they’ll provide info for the Friday mini’s and make-n-takes. (The Q&A sessions with instructors following each youtube class are only on FB.) ETA: Friday’s activities are only on FB. The FB group is very active - questions, silliness, photos, reminders from SCT, etc. I’ve enjoyed it, partly because until very recently I couldn’t do much because of a fall/break. But I 100% get not wanting to be a member - especially after listening to a fascinating NPR radio interview with the author of “Zucked - Waking up to the Facebook Catastrophe.” (He was a colleague and investor.) I think some things have changed since then but not enough.

. I hope they will provide links for those of us who are not on Facebook. So far, so good. I'm excited! I think - having experienced the 3 previous events - that SOME of the items are Facebook only. The Meet & Greet with instructors, as I recall, is hosted on Facebook and, I think, that some of the Friday Make N Take classes are based on Facebook. Please - this is only my recollection (I'm NOT an expert) but it is something I think you should check to get full advantage of the event!

I received my box Friday and opened Saturday. This is my 4th event, I did the scrapbooking one first, cards last spring, the holiday and now this cardmaking. I am not that into the whole box opening and all the hype that goes with it, nothing against those who enjoy, just not my thing. I was very overwhelmed by everything and am continually impressed with the quality and variety of these events. This is an event I do with my Mom who is exclusively a cardmaker. I prob wouldn't do it, except just to spend the time with her. I will probably only actually complete like 3 of the classes and just watch & play on the rest.
Just looking forward to some creative time!
As far as Facebook, I also avoided all facebook based events until the SCT ones came along. I hadn't been a member there since 2009ish, but for these events only I created a "fakebook" with alternate email and login. I have no friends on there and just participate in the group stuff. Since I haven't been on in so long, I honestly don't even know how to use it, I just go to the group page and look at everything there. It's really not a problem and I don't care that I have tons of unanswered friend requests bcz family/friends maybe recognized me.

freeatlast unfortunately Friday events are FB only. I’m a little confused because I could have sworn Michael’s mini class was on youtube. He had technical problems so re-recorded the whole thing.
