That stamp set is actually from the current Let's Stamp Together set. There's another set from Gina for the March Cardmaking event. Can never have too much Gina K!

I've signed up for both Spring events but completely forgot to join the FB groups when the email came in. I am so excited for these classes (and I managed to get a friend to join me for the Papercrafting one). Seriously considering doing all 3 fall ones too!
I didn't know about the new clause concerning the product. I understand the reasoning and appreciate Catherine coming here to explain more fully. I had a couple things that I would never use from my fall kit, but I just shared them with my crop group. I can't imagine just signing up in order to sell the stuff - that's crazy to me!

Any sneaks on the spring papercrafting event? I’m wondering if it will be all pinks and florals. It’s challenging to drop that much money without having a hint of the product style.

So far I'm liking most of the sneak peaks. I knew Lawn Fawn wasn't my jam so I didn't expect that one to be a favorite. I'm a bit surprised about the Hero Arts sneak. I love the layering cherries but the other images aren't really my style.

I love the layering cherries but the other images aren't really my style. I like all the sneaks. I think the hero art's one just looks like a mish-mash of stamps. I like the images but there is definitely a different feel to them. The other designers did a good job with making the cards go together like a set.

It took me a bit, but I am liking the sneak peeks. They initially struck me as having a different feel to them than things we've done in the past two cardmaking events, but I quickly realized that was a good thing. (I can be a little slow on the uptake sometimes!) I don't need more of the same - I need different! Having said that the Hero Arts one is a bit confusing. Hoping I'm going to like that one. It looks like a lot of coloring and I don't identify Hero Arts with coloring. We'll see!
Edited to add - I just went to the Hero Arts site and the kit for this month has an assortment of water colors in it. Maybe they're going in a new direction?

I signed up for this event and now I am regretting. It is very intimidating and overwhelming. This feels like over the top and way too much extra which will be fun killer for me. Never again. This is definitely my last Crop and create.

This is definitely my last Crop and create. This is my second one. I will agree that my first felt intimidating and overwhelming until the classes started. Once they started, I realized I could just go with the flow and work at my own pace. I preferred the pre-recorded classes because I could pause the videos. For the live classes, I did what I could and finished later. All the videos are available after the fact so go at your own pace and finish up later. Also try not to stress about ink colors. Just use what you have and the colors you like. Also, do all the homework before hand. That will eliminate a lot of the stress. You will have samples of the cards so you can do more stamping and die cutting before so you are basically just assembling during classes.

Twillerbee - sorry you feel this way! Are you primarily a card maker? I am not, and stamping is very challenging for me. I haven't participated in the cardmaking event, but I LOVED the Papercrafting event I attended in the fall. I'm signed up for the spring one too.
What I like most about these events is that they are Virtual and recorded so you can go back and watch again and you don't have the pressure of trying to keep up. I also really have begun to enjoy crafting at home. I wish you luck and I hope you can enjoy the event!

Last event was my first and my biggest challenge was inks: getting the right colours for each class. Because I'm not someone who plans to purchase exactly what the instructors use, but instead shop my own (extensive!) stash of inks, it meant that if I started a project and didn't like the colours I was seeing on my paper, I then had to stop and find different colours... at which point I was "behind" the instructor. It was fast paced. But I was so impressed with my cards at the end! I got about 75% done. Gina K says - the first time you make a card it's like your dress rehearsal, the card you make and keep yourself and then use to make AGAIN and they'll come out better. She reminded us in our "lets stamp together" class that she had made the card many times previously in getting ready to do it on the live demonstration, so this time through looked easy for her. But the first one did not look perfect...and so we shouldn't expect our first one to look perfect either. That's hard for me. This time, I plan to make HALF the cards, and finish the rest after the event, going back through each video. But I'd definitely look at your colours, and write out which inks you plan to use for each class! It will take your stress down during the event itself. I had a BLAST at my first event. And I am not a cardmaker... but I am now Much more confident actually. And just you wait until you open the box. I've got goosies just thinking about it!

I signed up for this event and now I am regretting. It is very intimidating and overwhelming. This feels like over the top and way too much extra which will be fun killer for me. Never again. This is definitely my last Crop and create. This will be my 3rd. It does seem overwhelming when the supply list and the time table are posted. But remember that it's a virtual event, so you can go at your own pace. If you looked at the schedule they (SCT) has jam-packed it with creative goodness. (I can't even imagine doing this in person.) It really is a very good value for what we paid. In the three days of the event you'll be attending 8 full classes and chat with the teacher after, plus all the mini classes, make-n-takes and presentations on Friday. They pack a lot into the weekend. BUT, it will all be recorded so you can watch in real time and then go back and watch and create whenever you want. I've done other virtual events (lots with Jenn Shurkus, the free LF classes and a Hero Arts) and I know I love creating in real time with the teachers. At the C&C I will work on my cards during class but if I get behind I know that I can finish them up during the teacher chat time or sometime after the event ends. No problem. Regarding the supply list, you don't have to have the exact inks the teachers will be using. Every instructor is representing a different brand and they use their branded products. My almost full set brand is GinaK, so I'll be using those inks for all classes, I will just use my best match or change up to colors I like. For the coloring I usually the Copics, but I don't have all the colors listed so I'll sub whatever I have (I still plan on being frozen!). Mine will look different and I'm ok with that. Some people will be using colored pencils, brush markers, Tombows, etc. Have you joined the FB group? I was reading today and some people and getting a bit snarky. (Reminded me of here! LOL) Anyway, we all have to remember that around 2500 people are attending and there are lots of levels of crafter - from novice to expert. The classes are taught at a pace so all levels can participate. Again, I can't imagine doing this in person! When you get your box there will be a really nice workbook that has instructions for cutting the paper (all provided in the box). At that point I will start gathering my supplies and organizing. The first time I wasn't very organized and I was fumbling around for things. The last event in October I used these mesh bags to hold the materials for each class in. That helped me a lot. Anyway, sorry for the long post. But I hope that you don't worry too much. And I can't stress this enough - Don't fret if you get behind just put it aside and watch the replay at another time.

Oh no! How can we help you feel more comfortable? This will be my third of the card making classes.
It is perfectly OK to just watch or do only a couple of the classes during the weekend. But...let us help you. I obviously love the card making classes.

twillerbee, It does seem overwhelming at first. Also, all the facebook group stuff moves fast. I ignore all of that and only concentrate on the supply list and schedule. If a card design looks complicated, I just watch the class, I don't even attempt it until afterwards when I can stop and start the video. You are going to be just fine. They are your projects, you can do whatever you like with them. Like cmpeter said, the peas can help you. I'm counting on them to help myself!

twillerbee I'm happy to help too. This is my second event and I can't wait for it. I have 2 of my crafty friends come over and do it with me( they didn't purchase, so we have to share) , they come over last time too. We stopped the video when we felt behind and finished the cards while listening to the FB talks. I would say prep work is very important and have your ink pads set up too. I used cookie sheets from the dollar store and small containers for the diecut pieces to organize everything for each classes. I will take pics of my set up and share it here for ideas. I have Catherine Pooler mini ink pads and I color matched those and they worked out perfectly. Last time the Pinkfresh class had 24 colors, I think this time is only 12 😁.

I signed up for this event and now I am regretting. It is very intimidating and overwhelming. This feels like over the top and way too much extra which will be fun killer for me. Never again. This is definitely my last Crop and create. Could you say what feels overwhelming so we might help more specifically? Have you joined the Facebook group? Questions are answered - including by someone who posted she’s overwhelmed - and yesterday SCT put up a post for questions & answers. A couple things in case any hit the mark: Stated on the supply list, and also posted by some instructors, you do not need all the supplies. In fact Jenn Shurkus pointed out for her own classes she suggests participants not buy until after taking a class. You can use what you have. And some participants are posting comparison charts for inks. Someone said she doesn’t even gather inks ahead of time, just grabs what she has during the class. A big one: some participants craft during classes but more than you’d imagine do not, or just make a couple cards (me!). Crafting while watching just isn’t fun for me. It feels pressured and I miss out on the fun of paying attention to the video and after-class Q&A. The videos will be up for at least a year. In last October’s FB group, people are still working on cards and sharing them or asking questions. I still have cards to make from then if I decide to. The guide book is excellent - step-by-step instructions with photos for every card, and which steps are homework, if you want to do it beforehand. Someone suggested noting times in the book of key points in the youtube videos, so you don’t have search down the road. Classes are on youtube. Live interviews/Q&A’s with instructors are on FB after each class. Emails and forms and important info is at the top of the Facebook page under Guides or Files. No one is left behind who wants to participate. A dozen people on Facebook will kindly jump in to answer any question or offer to talk privately via Messenger. And here are the Peas.

twillerbee - You've gotten some excellent advice from the posts preceding me. This is my 4th virtual event with SCT and the schedule for this one is so jam-packed, even I'm wondering how it will all get done! But, that's the great thing about the SCT folks - they give you so much value for your money!! I would encourage you to keep an open mind until you actually experience the event. When you open your box and see all the goodies and then you look at the instruction book they give us, you may find that it all makes more sense. In the past, I've been one of those who has done my darndest to keep up with the event over the weekend and generally didn't do too badly. For this event I won't be able to participate in anything over that weekend due to the grandkids coming for a visit. At first, I was just going to recreate the event schedule over the next weekend, but the more I think about it, the more I realize I don't need to do it all in that time frame. I'm going to space out the classes over a week or so, get my supplies together for only 2 or 3 classes at a time, stop those videos whenever I start to fall behind, and give myself plenty of breaks in between to catch my breath, clean up my stuff, and, well, go to the bathroom! And, rather than being disappointed, I'm looking forward to doing it that way. Maybe it would help to make a plan for yourself ahead of time. Pick a couple of classes to do that weekend, set aside a time later to do a bit more. Just sit back and relax and watch some of the fun. Looking at the schedule, I wouldn't even try to keep up with Friday. Pick a couple of classes that appeal to you and just watch the rest. As others have said, if there's anything specific we can help with - just ask!

I followed the class book to make my cards not the videos. That way I could go my own pace, not be overwhelmed at the speed, etc. I also used the limited inks I have on hand. None were the same as the classes.
Also, I didn't do the Lawn Fawn or Doodlebug classes, and I don't feel guilty one bit. They are not my style at all. I'd never send those cards. I didn't waste my time. I still got my money's worth from the other classes. I learned lots and tried new techniques to take to other projects.

Jenn Hunt Walker from SCT posted this today:
“As Catherine always says in her emails, "You do you!" Whether you spend weeks preparing for the event or take it as it comes. Whether you peek into your box or wait for the unboxing. Whether you do the homework or not. Whether you create during the video tutorials or watch, learn and create later. Whether you sit quietly behind the scenes and read the posts but say little or post regularly. We love all of you and all of you will enjoy this event. We are all very different. It is part of what makes these communities so special. It takes a village to create this event and this community. Thank you all for being a part of it, no matter which path you choose to follow. We also say No Stress. We want this to be fun. Enjoy. Smile. Share your stories. Create. Make memories. Record them. Create cards. Send them out. <3 “

I personally love being on the west coast because I quickly realized I rarely like crafting live at these events. I usually start everything at least 2 hours later which is 9 am here and then craft as much as I feel like it each day. I’m a fast crafter but I feel like I fall behind if I miss something and love being able to pause the videos. This way I don’t feel rushed and really enjoy everything. Just try a class live to see if you like that, if not they are all available right after the class is over. I tend to attend the keynote, instructors talks, etc live but the classes I do not. They are all willing to answer questions later. I love getting the surprises in the mail, trying all these products from different companies, and learning new techniques.

All of you amazing peas are the best. I feel much better after reading all of the above. My main concern is them trying to pack so much in one weekend. I don't know where to start. I have done my preparations for the inks and will do all my homework in advance too. But it just feels so much. And it's not their fault but one thing I realized is that some of the designs are not my style at all. I like stamp market, pinkfresh and Gina K sneaks. C9 and Hero arts were very underwhelming for me. And I never expected Lawn fawn to be my style. So even though there is so much product, I do not like it all and may be that's where a little disappointment lies for me. I think I am going to do what you did melanieg and just follow the actual class book instead of videos. I might do better that way. Thank you again to all of you who took some time to comment and made me feel so much better for the money I spent. Love and hugs!

Another west coaster that starts late! Since everything is recorded, it’s really easy to start on my own schedule. I also create a saved YouTube playlist with all the classes. Makes it easier to find vs hunting thru the Guides on FB.

Saving youtube videos in the library makes things so much easier. My library contains many categories, though sometimes card techniques land in Jackson Galaxy cat video or Air Fryer sections. twillerbee so glad you’re doing better. I know what you mean about styles not being your cuppa. I figure if 50% are my style, I’m getting a great bang for my buck since we get so much. 13 lbs. of stuff in October. And you probably know this, but good news bad news - there are a lot more companies than you listed that will be doing mini classes, make-n-takes, etc. So there may be more products you enjoy, but more sessions that feed into overwhelm! : ) It’s so well organized, and so easy to go back a week, a month, half a year later to make the cards or put your own spin on them, or just use the guide. it’s not hard to be stress free as long as you’re not putting pressure on yourself to keep up. If I did the homework plus an extra step or so, and played catch-up during the FB Q&As after classes and during breaks, I might be able to - but I’d miss out on parts I like - being fully engaged on what’s going on, chatting, etc. BTW, a card I did make during the last session was so not my style - but I got a kick out of it and it can be donated with other cards.

I am glad you are feeling better about it. I did my first one in November and actually didn't do anything at all (look at videos, etc.) until January. I loved being able to stop and go over anything I found confusing. I also discovered I loved two of the instructors and didn't really like the way one of them taught, so in the future, I would just skip even looking at that video.

The past two I have waited until the unboxing. Not this time. The first time it was fun anticipating what was in the box and "attending" the unboxing event on FB. Last time I waited and was thinking why did I wait. This time I'm ripping that tape off immediately!
And I got my shipping notice too.

I'm team peek. I don't think I'd have the time to get the "homework" that I want to complete done in the week and a half or so between the unboxing event and the weekend of the actual event.
