For those doing homework, Mari Clark of Honeybee posted on facebook there was a proofreading error in the manual for her card #3 and Jenn Shurkus posted a link to a video with tips about her projects.
Mari didn’t describe the error since some participants are on #teamnopeek, and Jenn posted not to read further or click on her link if no peeking.
Mari’s info will be in an email Catherine sends out and explained during the unboxing on Wednesday.

I also read last night that there is a mistake on Gina's homework vs step-by-step instruction. But Gina said it will be fine and she is going to use the homework version with her card. Just putting this here incase y'all missed the post. Sometimes I don't see everything, and I"m not very FB savvy. SPOILER in case you're team no peek. “prep work” (pg 4) she indicates to cut one white strip 1-1/2”x 4-3/4” and a black strip 1-5/8”x4-3/4” and I did that. But under the directions for Card #1 - Turquoise Daisy it says that the white strip should be 1-3/4”x4-3/4” and the black strip should be 1-7/8”x4-3/4”.

My husband and I have been house hunting and we made an appointment to look at a house tonight. I'll have to watch the replay later.... I'm slightly sad but I was on team peek and have seen the contents.

I'd already peaked once, just a quick look, but it was fun to go through again. I LOVE the honeybee stitched stars/balloons, and the pink fresh products. Most of the products are extremely versatile and will be loved. I am very happy overall!
However, last card event there were 6 classes, 2 lunch 'n learns, 1 evening "special event", and the Friday events were quite limited or only involved a small stamp set - I think I only made 2 cards on Friday?
This event, there are 8 full classes, 7 extra classes on Friday (that each have a rather full stamp/die/stencil component), plus 3 smaller events (thermoweb, angie blom, jennifer mcguire). Almost double the number of events.
Last card event, I had great fun, but honestly hardly had time to eat or pee. I think I will choose HALF the classes this event and focus on those this weekend, and catch up on the other ones later?

I have so many thoughts I’ve been keeping to myself. Now I can spill it.
Yes last time, while a packed event, I barely found time to take a break too. This time there’s just zero beaks built in. This is one time I’m glad I’m on the west coast.
The Friday “mini classes” blew my expectations to bits. Those look like full blown classes to me.
These events have made me a fan of Elle’s Studio. I’d never heard of them until the Oct event.
Of the 8 main classes, my least favorite are Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts. I’m not a fan of coloring in stamped images. I love the lawn Fawn hooray die and the Hero Arts cherry stamp so I think my cards will focus on those rather than the other stamps.
I love the C&9 products but Cathy’s cards are a bit too basic. I think I’ll jazz them up more.
All of the other classes, I’m thrilled with the products and the cards we're going to make.
I hope this doesn’t sound petty but I am bummed the acrylic block was missing. I just like that they are etched with the event logo. I’d rather have that than the pin.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with everything in the box. The event was expensive but I definitely feel like I’m getting more than enough for the cost. Has anyone tallied up the retail cost of the box?
I want to sign up for the fall event but I’m wondering if I should take a break.

I was tram rio it open and love just about everything. I have friends staying the night Saturday night so I knew that I can’t do it live. But I don’t mind. I rarely do the stuff live except for like opening, closing, etc. I’m a fast crafter but I still like to be able to hit pause, or go the bathroom, or not get irritated with my son for interrupting me so over the events I have found this works best for me. I think it’s awesome they packed in so much content. It’s just going to take a while to get it all done :-)
By the way, I still need to do my concord and 9th holly holiday. Only finished 1/2 of it so decided to skip summer camp this time. I still have the pinkfresh event coming up and 2 cards to finish from stamp joy from last weekend.
Whew! I love the online events & just do the crafting as I have the time.

I feel the same about the Hero Arts stamps. Like the cherries but the bunny and thistle/artichoke are not my style.
I think the reindeer for the Lawn Fawn birthday cards is odd. I’ll sub a different critter and save the reindeer for Christmas.

Now that the unboxing has finally happened...
I'm so disappointed in the Lawn Fawn stamp set! It's basically a smaller version of one of their most popular stamp sets (Party Animals) and of course, I already have it. Normally, I would just resell it, but with the new rules... Sigh.
And this is just personal preference, but I am also a little dismayed by how many of the sentiments are that weird new style where one word is broken into multiple lines. It is one of my pet peeves and again, since there are rules about reselling, feeling a bit overwhelmed by having to keep all the sets I don't like but have paid a significant amount for. Excited for the event and glad to have gotten some fun things, but I will be sitting out the next event.

Excited for the event and glad to have gotten some fun things, but I will be sitting out the next event. Catherine clarified a few pages back to maybe just wait 60-90 days to destash. People were selling product the first day of the event with instructor images, and that could affect companies’ willingness to participate. I agree that personal preferences/styles are key considerations before enrolling in any class. Over time the number of styles I like making has decreased while others aren’t often represented. But with SCT there’s just so much. Even if I only used 1/4 - 1/3 of the supplies, that’s plenty, given 8 “real” classes, 10ish events/classes on Friday so 18 total. The videos are available for eons and maybe I’ll practice a technique I’m too slow at. (I’m looking at you, shaker cards.) Obviously YMMV. OTOH, I wouldn’t sign up for classes offered by a single company again. Too risky that I won’t use almost anything. Just my take.

I am super disappointed in Hero Arts. The stamp set its a mishmash of stuff. At least they should have give us the second layer to the bunny stamp too. The cards are old fashioned.
In my opinion HA could have given us something similar to the kits they sell on Joann's website to bring more awareness to those kits and have Tina from Cards and coffee time teach us how to make 3 cards with them. To showcase how easy to create with them. Everytime I see what she makes with them I want to buy it 🤣.
Big missed opportunity!!!
I am happy with everything else. ☺

I'm so glad I attended the unboxing. I had peeked last week - just a cursory look - but last night going through it all it turns out I am missing an entire bag of stuff! It's stressful even though I know they'll make it right.
It got me excited for next weekend, though. It turns out my son is leaving for Japan a few days after the event, so I won't be able to fully participate anymore, but it will be a nice distraction once he leaves and I become an empty nester. So glad I can go back and do the classes after, although some of the fun is gone that way. My husband is going away for most of April, too, so it's just me at home and I really need something to focus on (besides work).

I have some doubts about the 60-90 day time limit, because I had a bit of a weird experience about this with the October event supplies. I posted one of the smaller stamp sets (that I had received an extra of and offered to mail back but was told I could keep it) for sale on Facebook and got an email asking me to take down the post. I removed the post of course, but it left a bad taste in my mouth because there were no "rules" about destashing supplies from the October event and it was well after 90 days since the event. I don't know what will happen if I try to destash anything from this event even after 90 days. I'll be honest, part of why I am willing to spend $300+ on a box of surprise goods is because I reasoned that I would be able to make some of my money back if I didn't like any of the supplies. Don't get me wrong though, I do love the event. Maybe I'll participate in another one next year. But I hope they'll figure out some better rules about destashing.

I think you are right! But, I think I'll still sub with something else. Because, now I have reindeer in my head and can't get it out. I think because I used a deer stamp in my holiday cards this year and this little guy looks like a bigger version of the car critters set I used for holiday cards.
Love her! She is great about taking a stamp set that I might not have been a fan of and creating something amazing.

My thoughts - I actually like the HA set. It's like a sampler of their recent release. I like the sentiments they included. And, I don't mind that the bunny is only the outline because I hate trying to line up layering stamps, and coloring is relaxing for me. Although I do think a JoAnn kit would've been a fun to try.
The Lawn Fawn deer does seem a weird choice. I don't already have the LF deer so I'm OK with it. And, Lawn Fawn critters are easy to mix and match. I love the big HOORAY! die.
I also don't like broken words. I think it's weird and hard to read.
Noticed that all the regular classes include stencils. I like using them and I think they're an easy way to add a little extra to a card like for a tone on tone background or edge.
I like all the mini classes, too.
Out of their three card events this box is my favorite.

Maybe email Catherine if you’re feeling a bit iffy about it? Part of her post on page one, including her email address: ”Maybe the middle ground is, if you're going to de-stash, wait 60-90 days? We do worry our partners may not be as enthusiastic to creating exclusive products moving forward if this issue grows. Some of the event products may be released by the manufacturer later, while some have chosen to keep it completely exclusive to the event. This one is tricky and to know us, is to know, we are just trying to make sure everyone is happy. Not in a million years did we expect the response we have had to these events and the joy they have brought to us and so many around the world. I'm happy to check back on this thread and answer any questions at all or, feel free to reach out to me any time at catherine@scrapbookandcards.com. Again, appreciate the spirit of the discussion and always open to suggestions!”

Wanted to amend my statement a bit: I pulled out the party animals set and the critter is almost exactly the same except for the eyes. The accessories have also been updated a little bit, but it is enough to make the stamp set more interesting for me... I wish it was more unique but I am a little less disappointed for sure.

I started prep work last night. Gina K and Stamp Market are done. I wont prep Hero Arts - I will use that class time to work on other stuff. Might not prep the full Lawn Fawn as I dont do "cutsie". The others I am willing to give a shot.
One of my friends is freaking out over the amount of prep there is to do and how she is going to get it done by next Friday. I said "Calm down. If you dont do the class live, you have access to watch it later or follow along with the book on your own. If you have to do some prep between classes, that is what you will do. This weekend is about having fun not being stressed out." I told her I wasnt planning on doing the HA class so I am not prepping that. Its all about doing what you want. Do as much or as little. Take a break if you need. Follow or dont. Do what works for you.

Setting up a youtube playlist keeps all the videos handy. Plus posts from Gina K, Catherine might help. The October group is still active. I have cards to make from then! I don’t know whether I’ll make cards that aren’t my style. More will work with different sentiments I could add. That’s not a complaint whatsoever. Over time I’ve become drawn to fewer styles to make (though love receiving any style!). With so much product, if I like 25-50% that’s a huge win. Do I want to make them anyway and donate them? I’m behind in cards I need to make, and finally made a first very simple card without too much pain following an arm/shoulder break. Decisions.

I also feel like it's fun to be participating in a big event where everyone is excited. I like to be involved in making and commenting.
