I already changed one of the sentiments for Gina Ks class. One of the cards says "in my heart" or something like that...I was like no. So I am using "grateful" from the set. lol
She is in the group. This is just her personality. Its ok. She knows. We know. We deal and handle with care. lol

Is your friend in the Facebook group? Many posts are about not making all the cards during the weekend, how some make a few or don’t make any, just enjoy watching, maybe marking key times in the book. Setting up a youtube playlist keeps all the videos handy. Plus posts from Gina K, Catherine might help. The October group is still active. I have cards to make from then! I don’t know whether I’ll make cards that aren’t my style. More will work with different sentiments I could add. That’s not a complaint whatsoever. Over time I’ve become drawn to fewer styles to make (though love receiving any style!). With so much product, if I like 25-50% that’s a huge win.
Do I want to make them anyway and donate them? I’m behind in cards I need to make, and finally made a first very simple card without too much pain following an arm/shoulder break. Decisions. I like to make all the cards. I change the sentiments and colors to more my style. I just enjoy the process of making a card. I donate or use them to send to people here that request cards. I also feel like it's fun to be participating in a big event where everyone is excited. I like to be involved in making and commenting. Me too - I’ve spent too much time already posting/visiting in the FB group. I probably will make about 1/2 the cards, maybe a few during the event. I love watching and visiting during it. The rest aren’t my style and while they could be donated, I need to get going on some postponed cards.

I am super disappointed in Hero Arts. The stamp set its a mishmash of stuff. At least they should have give us the second layer to the bunny stamp too. The cards are old fashioned. In my opinion HA could have given us something similar to the kits they sell on Joann's website to bring more awareness to those kits and have Tina from Cards and coffee time teach us how to make 3 cards with them. To showcase how easy to create with them. Everytime I see what she makes with them I want to buy it 🤣. I am also very disappointed in Hero Arts… especially when I started looking at the homework and there are three images that need to be fussy cut. 🤬 Why would they design cards that require fussy cutting if they knew they were not going to include the dies? Design a different card! There are other images without dies…but those cards don’t require fussy cutting. Some people in the FB group are buying the dies from HA but it is two sets of dies, at $11.99 (I think) plus shipping and it isn’t worth it to me, but I guess it is still an option which is better than nothing. I love both of the stamps but not enough to buy two additional stamp sets to get the complete images (specifically the layering stamp for the bunny and additional botanical image). I guess to one degree or another, I feel like I paid for them once already. Tina from Cards and Coffee could have designed beautiful cards with the items we received in our kit (and no fussy cutting!) and I would have been thrilled to take her class! I can’t see myself even watching the class or making the cards. 🤷🏻♀️

I'm hesitantly adding that I'm disappointed in Hero Arts also. I was worried about that class as soon as I saw the sneak peek. (Really not wanting to do that much fussy cutting, and I don't like the images much to begin with) I've done 2 previous card events and HA doesn't seem to be up to their usual standard. I wonder if this is a sign that this event isn't working well for them as a company? Well, everything else ranges from really nice to WOW! so I'm not complaining, but I think I'll be skipping that class. Family will be here from out-of-state that week/weekend so I'll be on doing this on my own later anyway.

I'm most excited for Taylored Expressions and to learn how to use that stencil set. I also love the colours she used.

It looks like Hero Arts got the message that people were disappointed with their class products. They’ve created a coupon code for $5 off $50 for the group valid now through April 3.

Now that the unboxing has finally happened... I'm so disappointed in the Lawn Fawn stamp set! It's basically a smaller version of one of their most popular stamp sets (Party Animals) and of course, I already have it. Normally, I would just resell it, but with the new rules... Sigh. And this is just personal preference, but I am also a little dismayed by how many of the sentiments are that weird new style where one word is broken into multiple lines. It is one of my pet peeves and again, since there are rules about reselling, feeling a bit overwhelmed by having to keep all the sets I don't like but have paid a significant amount for. Excited for the event and glad to have gotten some fun things, but I will be sitting out the next event. I am curious about how they word the rule about not re-selling their products. The First Sale Doctrine gives the purchaser of items the right to resell them.

I think there are a number of cards that I won't be making -- I don't sew on pages (I have been known to scotch tape a loose hem and safety pin buttons), I really don't "fussy cut" if it can be avoided and it can ALWAYS be avoided regarding a critter, I loathe cute little critters. With that said, I still think the event is okay -- the products are fine, and I expect I'll get *something* from watching those videos. But - I do think I'll be taking a break from these events (after the April papercraftng!)

Have fun this weekend! I am envious of all the new toys and techniques you will be playing with!
Seriously considering signing up for a couple of the fall events again--even though I have not used anywhere near all of the box I received last year for it.

For the critters, I have decided I am just going to use the huge saying on a card and embellish with accoutrements instead of critters.

I was wondering if you and Jac were doing the crop this time around or not. The sign up for this one hit me when I already had a ton on my credit cards, so I opted out. i thought of putting it on my Christmas list for family to buy for me, but then discarded that idea, too. Not sure what justjac is doing.

I was wondering if you and Jac were doing the crop this time around or not. I didn't sign up for any of the spring Crop and Creates. The card one is my favourite, but I'm running out of storage space for stamp sets. Maybe I'll do one in the fall. I really need to do some stash busting before then.

I’m not a card maker. Don’t want to be a card maker. Yet I do need cards. Took this class last year. Forced myself to keep up and get all the classes finished. I would not put sentiments on cards again. Leave that for when you wish to send out. We made great cards last year. I loved them all when done. Even the one I didn’t think I would like.

Is everyone ready for tomorrow! I'm so stinking excited! I took Friday and Monday off work so I can focus all weekend on "cutting paper dolls" as my dad calls it. Have fun everyone!

Yes, I'm even more excited for this one than the last one. I am really pleased with the cards and products. Tomorrow I'll be in and out of the classes - I also have to do some work plus make a birthday cake, but I'll have the videos playing while I do that. It's gonna be good!

I made three cards today, which is three more than I thought I'd make, since I had to work today. So far I'm really pleased with the mini classes I've seen. I can't wait to sew on my card for Spellbinders' tonight - I have been wanting to try this for a long time.
I hope everyone is having fun!

So far I have 7 cards made. My favorites are the Elles Studio cards. I've already made 2 purchases from them this week! I really like the whimsical fruit stamps from LDRS too. Today has been a great day so far. I'm skipping the Brutus Monroe class and am going to hit Target for some M&Ms.

I’m exhausted and it’s only 7pm on the west coast. I do not know how you east coasters are doing this. You guys are strong.
I have to say, I am much more relaxed about the progress I make participating in this event for the second time. It was so stressful the first time.
Tomorrow is another great day! Get a good nights sleep everyone!

I tried and failed at the Photo Play class…all three of us were not fans of our finished card.
Finished all three of Elle’s Studio cards. Loved them.
Made just the second LDRS card…super cute. I was not a fan of the stripes behind the letters, so did a solid color.
Made the Crafter’s Companion Thanks card. Want to go back and add some bling.
Made the Thermo-Web make-n-take.
Will have to do the other three another day. We ran out of steam. Can’t wait for tomorrow.

I finished all 17 cards...
I switched things up on the fly, and was really pleased with how quick I kept it moving while adding details like stitched edges to my cards.
I love my Brutus Monroe cards way more than I expected. Like the fruit more than I expected. and the bees more than i expected!
The foiling did NOT WORK WELL for me! The edges weren't "clean" enough on the letters. It looks unprofessional. But my stenciled backgrounds for them? Love.
That was just the warm up. Yawn!

Nice job kitbop!!! Hope you'll share pics of your creations. I made only 3 cards. My day didn't go the way I was planning it, but that's Life. Didn't do any homework either so I had to just cut and color while watching the pink and main class. I made 1 LDRS card too. http://instagram.com/p/CbjrXquOrAo

I have to say, I am much more relaxed about the progress I make participating in this event for the second time. It was so stressful the first time. Tomorrow is another great day! Get a good nights sleep everyone! This is an interesting comment. The spring card event is my second SCT event; I did the scrapbook one in the fall. I loved it and am still working through it. I am so impressed by the organization, the supplies, the classes, and all the extra events. They are well worth the money, in my opinion, with the understanding that at any event, it's about the learning and not all will be my style. Although for card making, I have no particular style. I have noticed that the card makers at this event are far more type A personalities than at the scrapbooking event, or maybe that's who's posting. It began with the over-the-top (for me) organization photos, homework prep, and ink comparisons and so forth. Once the event started, it has been the posting of the same questions over and over again and again, even with great communication from SCT and then some of the comments in the classes, indicating frustration about tools, ink colors, sources for materials and tools. I have turned off the comments. These kinds of classes aren't designed for beginners or just people that have particular tools (they need to meet all levels or no one would return) or for perfection (it's a class for learning, even the instructors aren't doing it all perfectly), but the stress conveyed in some of the comments has made it feel less joyous, relaxing, and fun on my end, event through the card are beautiful and inspiring. If these were in-person classes, would these people be voicing if to the instructor or would they just get through it? In my experience, no, but maybe... I love this platform and the flexibility of the venue, being able to go back to it when I have the time. However, I may not do a card event again based on this experience. My real life is stressful enough, I don't need stress in my fun. I must say, SCT must anticipate this based on Gina K's keynote last night, which also sent a clear message IMO.
