WE are all experimental lab rats of the media, social media (making money off of us), etc. Perhaps being educated about the background of how our country became so divided would be helpful? I apologize that you feel like I made you participate in being a experimental lab rat, but you did join the conversation of your own free will, you were not forced. Under shady pretenses, right? And please…spare us the sanctimonious bull crap “experiment” Every time I've seen this used as an excuse---and it's been MANY times, it's been because their claims aren't supported and the vast majority of people disagree with their stance and challenge claims that they make. When backed into that corner, it's then "an experiment" and usually closed with (just as in this case)--"And you've all proven me right." But when then challenged on what has been proven, it all remains mysterious and something only they know. For their experiment. |

Or “I’m sorry I misled everyone by letting you all think that I, angel97701, am an upright and honest person who stands by her beliefs, when all the time I knew my beliefs were abhorrent to enough people here that I could not say them aloud." And then maybe you should consider leaving, because you have destroyed any trust that the Peas had in you. As others have said, this group is important to many of us. We use it as a support system and a sounding board, and both want and need it to be honest and true. And note, it’s not necessarily your politics that have upset most people. Its the abuse of the trust we have to have in each other, ingenuous though that may be. |

For those of you who do not want to engage in civil discourse one on one via PM, so be it. The main part of the reason I posted this is to see where it would go, and how Peas would handle it. Most enlightening . . . if you can take the time you consider watching this documentary, interviews by Katie Coric. It certainty made sense to me.

Apologies or other. "I am a sub, accept only jobs that “feed my soul”. I am vaccinated figure I will get omicron at some point. Was very sick before Thanksgiving but tested negative PCR in 36 hours. Ended up with a sinus infection, sick for basically 3 weeks.
With a special needs son myself with behavioral issues that really amplified during Covid so that last 2 years have been very stressful. Hence the hesitancy to work with students who are less than mature as 9th & 10th graders. I would rather manage my home life! I can not get services for him outside of school as there are not enough employees. So there are times I need to be available at a moments notice.
By my calculations our area is down by 1/2 the number of subs. Those who were new to the profession got full time job. Others who were retired and subbing decided it wasn’t worth it. Others would needed to work found other jobs.
Fortunately I do not “need” to work, so the extra stress of taking jobs is not necessary." |

Back to the original post for a second. AOC has been vaxxed & boosted. She was outdoors socializing & eating. She didn't break any rules in Florida or even, NY. Where is the outrage for Trump who had covid & spread it for a week before isolating? After testing positive, he attended a rally and failed to take extra precautions like wearing a mask or social distancing. He spoke unmasked to the press corps on Air Force One. At least 3 journalists later tested positive. He hosted a super spreader event at the Rose Garden, where he was likely patient zero. He tried to blame Gold Star families, even though he had already tested positive before he met with them. He attended the presidential debate after testing positive and failed to disclose that (attendees were on the honor system). In those days after his first positive test, he came in contact with an estimated 500 hundred people, exposing all of them to covid. He clearly broke CDC guidelines and recommendations. Where is your outrage for his careless, selfish, irresponsible, reckless, dangerous, deceitful actions? I have been a teacher for close to 28 years, add in a four long-term sub jobs even after we adopted two sons from Russia at ages 10 and 4, 12 years ago. Now I substitute as I can, because you’ve already pointed out I am 62. I too, have taught to feed my family, pay my mortgage, health insurance and health bills.
For those of you that have been researching and reading some of my other posts you may discover that our family’s life has been extremely disrupted by Covid, especially for my sons who suffer from Accumulated Childhood Trauma with scores of 9 and 10 which is also known as Pre-cognitive PTSD. My older son now 22 lives in a homeless shelter and is alcoholic and drug addict after his trade school program shut down due to covid. We’ve not seen him in about 2 years since he was removed from our home in hand-cuffs by the sheriff for giving our younger son drugs. He did attempt about 6 months of treatment but dropped out. My 16 year-old younger son is on the FASD spectrum, has very difficult mood swings and mental health meltdowns, will earn modified diploma, and we do not know if he will ever be independent. Thus the reason I might be needed at a moment's notice to care for him.
I have followed the guidelines in my state, am vaccinated, wear a mask, distance, wash my hands frequently, so that I can continue to care for my family and sub for my teachers.
I said in the beginning I didn’t always agree with Trump, and what he did by exposing others to Covid WAS WRONG!
You may or may not find this sincere enough, or even care . . . but for my part I am truly sorry and am convicted that I was in the wrong to create an alternate pea profile.

If you’re afraid of being called names because of your convictions, perhaps it should occur to you that’s your conscience telling you your convictions might not be above board. Heaven forbid LIARS be called liars. If you have to lie to circumvent an “echo chamber” where exactly are you? I wish you well in your personal struggles; they are clearly quite difficult. Unfortunately most destructive coping mechanisms aren’t helpful. The only way is through. |

My sketchy knowledge is that my epidemiologist podcaster reported there are currently fewer than (I think) 10,000 doses of the new Pfizer treatment med in the U.S., but he didn’t mention where they are. Can you elaborate? You need to share your knowledge/state shortage if you want us to learn from you or if you want any meaningful responses from those more in-the-know. 3. Yes, increasingly more vaccinated people are catching Omicron Covid. Fully agree. We’re two variants past vaccine development and the current prevalent variants are [pick one] more dangerous or more transmissible. No medical or public health source ever promised me a full immunity or a static virus. From my perch, the more glaringly relevant trend is that the hospitals are still overwhelmingly treating the unvaccinated and families are much more often mourning the unvaccinated. There. Answered.
