Former's lawyer tells NY Supreme Court Judge that former and kids are a "protected class" Attorney Alina Habba was scolded by a judge on Thursday after she claimed that her client, former President Donald Trump, is part of a "protected class" because of his Republican ideology.During a court hearing in New York, Trump attorneys tried to convince state Supreme Court Judge Arthur F. Engoron that members of the Trump family could not be subpoenaed in connection with allegations that their company illegally manipulated property valuations. Habba told Engoron that Attorney General Letitia James is conducting an improper investigation into Trump because she does not like him. I think he is using the only attorneys who are willing to attempt to represent him. After seeing Guiliani get disbarred, I think most are thinking, "Do I really want to do this?" and finding that they do not want to risk their livelihood and reputation on the case.

So, drawing the argument to its “logical” conclusion: Trump’s children should be exempt from subpoena because they are in a protected class based on the fact that they are adult children of someone who was a sitting Republican President and could win again?
It’s like the stretches have stretches. Gumby comes to mind.
