I realize we are not living post covid, and while we may never put it behind us completely, things are moving in a more positive direction for many people. If you could design a collection for life as it returns to normal (somewhat) what would you include? What color palette would you like to see? Phrases, word stickers, icons, patterned papers?
I'd like to see some fresh colors, upbeat phrases, and word stickers about dining out and family/friends gatherings. Travel and movies would be nice, too.
Another thought - covid is so heavy and there was so much death and tragedy. Do you think it would be insensitive for a manufacturer to put out a collection with this theme? If so, is it the subject matter or the timing that would be wrong? If it's the timing, when would it be ok?

I think such a collection doesn't need to be 'returning to normal' specific - a collection about dining out, gatherings, movies, concerts, museums etc... aimed at adults with fresh colours and adult images/phrases would be perfect in general. And that helps avoid the whole covid aspect also.

I like the idea of a line about simple pleasures, shared with others. Lots of phrases about being together, out & about, family, friends. Happy colours; greens, and blues, and sunshine. I find it hard to see how this would be offensive, especially if there is emphasis on going forward rather than looking back.

Even when it WAS normal, we had very few lines showcasing shopping, eating out, going to work or college, in-person work meetings, road trips, any food & drink really, adult gatherings for birthdays and celebrations. Scrapbook lines seem to be stuck in the past, even before MY time, or on childhood. We need something in the middle.

I was just thinking about new paper designs today -- and I totally do NOT want any theme -- just beautiful designs with nice colors -- like the original couple years of Basic Grey. No bugs, big eyed animals, or gnomes -- NO DAMN THEME!

Covid-inspired collections were released in 2020. (See Covid lines... thread for lists/links.) Otherwise, manufacturers have released their "normal" (ie repetitive/predictible/formulaic) themes/icons/color palettes/etc (e.g. holidays, seasons, baby, school). As always, I wish for versatile, non-themed, white-based, clean, & modern collections in neutral color palettes to which other colors, distressing, etc. can be added as desired to document anything/everything, including subjects without themed products (e.g. travel to major cities, museums/monuments tours, attending pro/college sporting events as a spectator, college/young adult activities/first apartment, etc). This question is often asked (see here & there). Sadly, manufacturers rarely act on the free customer feedback/market research in these threads & continue to produce the same themes/icons/color palettes/etc.

And that helps avoid the whole covid aspect also. I need a line with a clean aesthetic (looking at you, Pinkfresh) about exactly all of this. We had a few lines that were focused on generic city life several years ago (Dear Lizzie, Shimelle, Kelly Purkey for Basic Grey) but nothing lately. I feel this phase 2 of Covid-19/semi-endemic + vaxxed life would be a great opportunity to do another one. Museums and eating out have been a huge part of the world opening back up for me.

I feel like life in general will never return to the "normal" that I knew and was used to.
Going forward, I would like to have some larger sized sticker (at least an inch or two high, no mini sticker sneeze!) with sayings..... Rebuilding Looking forward to.... Socializing Two years since I.... Adding to my Bucket List.... Friends, oh how I missed seeing you! Going places Good to be back! First concert I want to go to is..... Resumed (I want this specific for the yearly craft festival....that's been on covid hiatus) In Memory. Covid sucks! Always in my heart. (I lost two dear friends to covid and plan to do a Memorial layout about each of them. Things I've learned... It's okay, to not be okay. Sometimes life is hard. (I plan to document my "new to me, never experience before" struggle with anxiety , anxiety attacks, mental health.

I doubt I would use much of a back to normal collection. I did buy lots of Covid related type stuff to use for that period, but my back to normal is more of the stuff I would always use.
For example, I have a few photos to do of my husband and son doing virtual teaching, but now that they are back to in person classes I just use regular school stuff. I have a few photos of people wearing masks in the classroom but if I am scrapping photos without masks I can't see myself doing a no more masks layout.
I don't know. But chances are if something comes out I will pick it up just to have it.

I don’t need a back to normal collection, I’d prefer normal collections that focus on real life events like others mentioned here. Just simple things like cooking together, day trips, local days, eating out, etc. cause that’s just our lives and that is what I scrap.

No bugs, big eyed animals, or gnomes -- NO DAMN THEME! I agree. My favorite papers since I started scrapbooking are Basic Grey, Chatterbox, and older My Mind's Eye. Some of the BG had a theme but not all of the papers had to do with that theme and they were unique color combos. I like that we can buy matching embellishments now rather than having to paint or cover chipboard like we used to, but I don't like too much themed stuff or cutesy, immature looking stickers on every page.

Like there's a mix of errands, house stuff, exercise (hike), and fun, day trips, museums, movies, beach, parks, fairs/markets, etc. I would like all of that to be on a minimal white background with hints of classic colors. Either black or navy, and then pops of either like mint/teal, yellow. Agree with no pink! It just messes up outdoor photos and such, more earthy based tones, blues/greens/neutrals would be nice. Also - I think I mentioned digi designer Humble & Create from Digital Press here before, but love the aesthetic and designs, if you are apt to digi or print/cut. shop.thedigitalpress.co/Humble-and-Create/

This sounds great! Except, please nobody hiss or boo, but I’m ok with some pink. Actually, I’d understand hissing and booing. Pink is everywhere.
