I don't understand on line crops. Do you turn the camera on yourself, or your project? It's just company. .Much like in person crops except we can't order pizza and loan each other supplies My confessions: 1. I no longer understand the allure of in person crops. I used to go, but now I find planning what I'm going to scrap, packing up stuff and unpacking stuff afterwards is just too much work. Plus, there is always someone there who bugs the life out of everyone else. Add in the expense, and often bad food, and I'm like...why? 2. I like Cathy Zielske. I like her "boops". I don't watch her videos because her style is too simple for me! 3. I avoid the nsbr entirely because of potential for conflict 4. I shop on Ali Express - I spend as much as I can on the real companies, but refuse to pay the full inflated prices for anything like rectangles or circles or frames or grassy borders (or even an occasional alphabet). 5. I like pink

I love the look of glitter/texture paste with stencils but I hate, hate, HATE cleaning paste off stencils so much that I would totally throw them away after using them if it weren't so irresponsible and expensive to do so! Instead, I just never use my pastes or stencils! Foolproof strategy, right?

My turn: I don't understand on line crops. Do you turn the camera on yourself, or your project? Isn't that distracting if you are trying to create? Then, I would be expected to try and work on a project AND talk to people? This is me with regular crops too! 😂 I went to 2-3 back in the day. Got NOTHING accomplished. Didn’t have allll my things, my things weren’t arranged in the right places to work for me, so distracted by what everyone else had of was doing. Absolutely not productive for me in any way.

I LIKE PIIIIIIIINNNKKKK!Now, that that's off my chest, I also never understood the craze over Ali's handwriting. Maybe in small doses but I don't want someone else's personality to dominate my layouts. Also, I shopped a lot during the pandemic. Like a lot of shopping just out of boredom. Now I'm kind of burned out on shopping. I wonder when I'll get my shopping mojo back. But, until then I have a lot of stuff to keep me going. Pink is my signature color. And one of dd's favorites so I like pink for her.

1. I like pink. 2. I’m fine with Ali’s handwriting. I like it in my books along with plenty of other styles to mix it up. 3. I took a long break from scrapping - like 12+ years at least. And now it seems like everything is themed. I don’t like that at all. So I don’t buy it. 4. I don’t like stickers except alphabet ones

Okay, here goes...deep breath. I don't like Tim Holtz or his business partner. I think they are both buttheads. And his dies are ugly and weird. And things made with them are like...creepy, and ugly and strange. Sorry, not sorry. I’m so glad I’m not the only one turned off by Tim Holtz & Mario. 😂 We totally need a spin off thread to dissect this one! I am right there with you :-)

I am another one who spends too much on supplies. Just out of interest, I just counted my digital kits. I have 733 kits. Not to mention all the non-kit supplies such as papers, brushes, styles, overlays, templates - SO many templates! - stamps, embellishments, masks, actions, cut files, etc etc.....
And of course with digital supplies, I can re-use and re-colour to my heart's content, so there is really no need to own SO MUCH STUFF.
I have just started a new 'thing' where I buy myself a gift certificate from my two favourite digital stores, and use that for all my purchases for the month. That way there are only two entries on my credit card statement for $100 and $50, rather than ten or twenty smaller entries!
Also, I really dislike a lot of my early pages, especially the CM pages. I know that some people feel that it's all part of the journey, and they wouldn't ever re-do pages, but I want to re-do all of them. The only problem is that those pages were done back in the days of film cameras, and I don't know where most of the negatives are. I can't take the photos off the pages to scan, because they are all cropped to within an inch of their lives, or cut into stupid shapes.

I will bring them to Family gatherings, and they can be looked at under my supervision, then they are going back to my car. Years ago, I had two pages go missing from a scrapbook that I had brought to showoff at a Family gathering. Someone removed them from the scrapbook, no idea who. I didn't realize it until a much later date, that two layouts had been removed. My brother in law took photos from my wedding album. Not a scrapbook one, but the professional one! At the time I was too young and naive to really stand up for myself, and my husband doesn't like conflict. He would not say something to his brother! Never again. That album never came out again for his family. I think it was a photo with him in it, so in the end who cares. I don't miss it.

I like pink, flowers, and cute. I even like the kawaii faces, but even though I love Doodlebug they seem to be running them into the ground.
I have never been a big shopper or collector but once I started scrapbooking I had to have it all. I keep thinking there will be a day when I am tired of it but I still get excited seeing new collections and thinking how I could use them. And yes there are times when I am glad my scrapbook delivery gets there when nobody else is home although nobody would scold me for it.
Got turned off from “celebrity” scrapbookers when companies like CK started making scrapbooking competitive with contests like the “Hall of Fame”. I volunteered at a scrapbook convention at the height of it and heard some mean girl comments from some of the “celebrities” in scrapbooking that people at 2 Peas worshipped which really turned me off.
I am a slow scrapbooker. My first crop was with CM and I still remember the CMC giving a prize for the most pages done. People were churning out pages, slapping down pictures with a triangle or sticker sneeze, and I knew then I would rather go at my own pace and be pleased with my pages.
I don’t care if I use products that are “old”, I get a kick when I use something that has been in my stash forever and I still love things I bought when I started in the 90’s.
I don’t buy mixed media stuff any more because it seems like by the time I use it the stuff is dried up. I love the options with having cutting machines but sometimes when I think of cutting something out with a bunch of pieces I get too lazy. Funny because when I first started scrapbooking I used to hand cut letters and shapes from stencils.

Confession: I don't put a lot of thought into making my pages. I routinely have issues making things straight. I get bored easily. Two pages about Christmas in the same year, side by side rarely look the same. I used to scrap for the sake of preserving memories, now, it is for me. My family album pages look more like a photo album. Super simple. Scrapping is my happy place, I don't make it a point to figure out who needs boycotting or not unless it's pointed out to me, I might. Yes, my privilege is showing.
Annoyance: Trying to find stamps that work for scrapping. Products that take too much time to dry. Too much pink feminine crap. Exclusive products that you have to wake up at the butt crack of dawn in order to buy before it sells out. NO, I will not. . People that think there is only one right way to scrap.

I hate other peoples handwriting in my album. It’s hard for me to use it. I cringe at “get someone else’s voice in your album” challenges.
I scrapbook for me. Don’t really care about the future generations and if they get my “story”. My kids can burn all my albums when I die and I would not care a lick.
I don’t journal on every layout. I frequently scrap a ton of one or two photo layouts on one event / subject and don’t feel the need to journal.
Sometimes I “phone it in” on a layout and that’s perfectly fine. I don’t feel the need to be some super creative mind blowing person on every layout.
I do what I want. Period.

I may have to run for cover after posting this. I want to say I appreciate this place but I don't think this place should be an ode to Two Peas. The owners of Two Peas were jerks and I saw some conversations between them and Garden Girls where they would target posters they didn't like and gave out personal information of the poster they got from that person registering at Two Peas/buying at their store. They would then gang up on the person on the message board. Also they ran their store terribly.

I thought of another confession. I like choices. I like that I have several paper collections for my most used themes to choose from. I love mixing and matching papers, stickers, embellishments, all of it on my pages. I am also maybe a little glad that I don't have the temptation of Tuesday Morning anymore, I grew my stash quite a bit due to TM-and now I want to pare down the consumables a bit through using them instead of growing my stash!

**takes a deep breath***
I love gnomes. Give me all the Tulla and Norbert! I just talked about buying two of Photoplay’s Tulla and Norbert’s Disney line. Yes! I want it!!! I also still love inking layers. Ink all the things! I love pink and aqua. They don’t bother me showing up everywhere.
I hate tags. Hate them with a passion. If there’s a hole, I need to put something in it and I don’t want to go hunting for the right ribbon color and size for the stupid hole. Just give me some %$&! rectangles and let people punch their own holes if they’d like.
There’s one other thing I thought of but forgot typing my hate fueled sentences about tags. 🤷🏻♀️

1. I also like pink lol 2. I do not like the style of basic grey papers and I don’t understand the constant basic grey nostalgia on this board I’m one of those BG nostalgia people. For me, I have a reason why. It was the first paper company that I fell head over heels in love with. It was the elephant paper from Oh, Baby! Girl. I couldn’t believe it cost about $15 for some paper and letter stickers. I was a newlywed and new teacher. Spending that much on paper…it was mind boggling to me. It didn’t stop me from looking at it, petting it, and falling even more in love each and every time I saw it. Every time I pull out any BG to use, I’m transported back to that first moment of love and feel it all over again. There are very few things in my life that bring such strong positive feelings - Paper Mario, Zelda Wind Waker, lilacs, and using the ice cream cone cookie cutter to make Christmas cookies. The Basic Grey stuff (it’s delicious!*) is one thing I can use regularly compared to other super nostalgic things on my list. *sorry…it “grey stuff” appears together, I break out into song. Daughter (13) hates it but my third graders love it and will sing along. 😂

But we do have some funny memories from there and if someone is looking to reconnect and puts in 2peas, at least they can come here as it will pop up. So not really sure it's an ode to the OG 2peas more...just an easy portal for returning peas.

Another one...
I wish pocket page scrappers/PL creators would use AE products differently. Bring in other products/companies. Make something cool.
Now that I do PP scrapbooking, I look for inspiration but it's so hard to find. Everyone is AE.

It's not a confession, but more of an unpopular opinion/situation,..... NON-NEGOTIONAL RULES of mine. I am taking photos for my use, with MY camera or phone. I will never again rely on anyone else to text, email, make me copies. Based on past experience years, decades ago.... the other photo taker, NEVER gave me copies (I asked several times). I don't care if the other persons camera is better, fancier, more expensive. I AM TAKING MY OWN PHOTOS. In the time wasted going back and forth about it, we both could have taken our photos and we'd be done already. The person has tried to guilt me, coerce me, over-rule me. I will not give in on this ever. I do NOT loan out my scrapbooks. If someone else wants to make copies of my scrapbook pages, I will happily meet them at copy place with all of my scrapbooks. But, my scrapbooks are not ever leaving my possession. I don't care if anyone thinks I am a bitch, selfish, uncooperative, disagreeable, etc... my rules are firm and non-negotiable. I like your rules! My niece took snorkeling photos of my grandson with her underwater camera. I begged for them, was promised them, will never get them. ETA - I love pink, too.

1. I scrapbook just about every day, but you'd never know it. I am an extremely slow scrapper. I might glue one element down, let my layout stare back at me, and then not decide on the next element until an hour later. 2. I love pink, butterflies, hearts, and glittery enamel dots. 3. I don't scrapbook the way I used to during my CM days, but I still love the way the completed albums look on my shelves. I have tried to like the D-ring binders, but the "pleather" ones seem to fray at the corners. 4. I have been trying to adapt to pocket scrapbooking, but it's not working. 5. I cringe when scrapbookers and planners brag about how much they buy. It seems excessive, and I wonder how people are able to afford not only the craft supplies they purchase but also the furniture and containers to house it all. I recently saw a post where someone shared how they store their 1000-plus rolls of washi tape. When do they expect to use it all?

Since we've turned to The Pink Debate... I confess to liking the pink tones that get a lot of hate lately: the warmer hues that are more on the peachy/soft coral side. I like it way better than the cool pink alternative. Oh well.

I don't need to hear you breathe hard or clean your throat or talk in a monotone voice or sign every other word/sentence or act like choosing a darn card is life altering work. My unpopular opinion is that not everyone is cut out to be a creator on YT. I think I have come across that scrapper on YT. I don't watch her stuff. We're gonna need to see some receipts. *cough video link cough channel name*

I’m in the process of trying to organize stuff in my craft room. At the moment, patterned paper and collections. Here’s my confession - I have more patterned paper than I can use in a lifetime but I have a hard time getting rid of any of it. Side note - I absolutely hate the word purge. Even though I already have a lot, I keep buying more supplies. For example, we’ve only been to Disney World 3 times and don’t have plans to go any time in the near future. I have more than enough stuff to scrap those trips but the new Simple Stories collections are so tempting.
I miss the height of scrapbooking when there were so many kit companies. There was even a message board dedicated to kit clubs. I miss the excitement of the first of the month, seeing new kits. For a while, Not Just for Boys Kit club filled that gap. I like the page kits bit miss the bigger kits. None of the other clubs are appealing to me. Most are too pink or flowery or use too much American crafts. Here’s my next confession (don’t hate me) I don’t like Maggie Holmes, Amy Tan, Paige Evans or Vicki Boutin collections. I like watching Vicki’s you tube videos, I think she’s incredibly talented and creative, but I think her collections would be challenging for me to use.
Jennifer McGuire could sell ice to an Eskimo. Her favorite things videos, even the older ones, are dangerous to watch.
I keep buying stencils, but have only used a few of them.
I’m on team anything but pink (and orange. My 2 least favorite colors, especially together)

They would then gang up on the person on the message board. Also they ran their store terribly. I agree. When the Garden Girls private board was temporarily exposed and everyone could read it, it certainly showed some true colors, attitudes, superiority complex like behavior by some of the Garden Girls. That type of behavior speaks volumes about their true character and type of person they are. Some of them were nice, and some were very mean. The infamous "game on bitches" by Shannon Tidwell and Jen something, spoke volumes about their mean girl behavior. I believe this type of behavior is deeply instilled in ones core, it likely comes out in all aspects of their lives. People like that present forth "sweet and kind" but deeper within there is a foundation "mean girl behavior" and those type of people will turn on someone in one second flat, especially if they have a posse of groupies and diehard fans that will support them no matter what. I believe one's true colors never go away, because true colors are a part of ones core foundation and overall character. Some people may be good at hiding and disguising their true colors on the surface, but deep down those true colors are always there.

I have major FOMO. I overspend on supplies, especially stamps and I don’t use them nearly enough. Recently I’ve caught myself buying duplicates of stamps I already own ugh. If Ali Edwards ever goes out of business I’ll be able to make DITL & WITL albums until the end of time.
Since I’m working on my PL right now I am currently annoyed with how inconsistent the pockets are on page protectors and how it feels like everything will just fall out.
I also get annoyed with small business owners & creatives who preach “shop small” and then spend their busy season whining about how burned out, overwhelmed they are. I don’t need to hear about your social media whoas, or breaks. I love the Commit30 planner but the owner really needs to outsource their social media.

I miss the height of scrapbooking I totally agree! I went to CKU in Utah twice. These two trips were the funnest girlfriend trips I’ve ever taken. The Crop&Create Delivered virtual events give a similar vibe. Those have been two of the best crafty weekends I’ve had in a really long time.
