This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page/project when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

Welcome to May! I look forward to seeing lots of green grass and flowers this month.
Yesterday and today I have spent a total of 10 hours organizing, cleaning up and editing photos. I hope to keep up with it better in the future. That's too long to try to catch up!
Come visit and post your layouts here as you complete them.
I hope everyone gets some time this month to do some happy scrapping.

Happy May Pokeys! justjac and grammadee have fun at your crop! I love that shirt! I'm trying to get packed up for mine next weekend. My mom, niece and I booked a bed n breakfast about an hour away that is within walking distance of a LSS. We are calling it the gramma getaway LOL. We do this annually on iNSD weekend. Usually in Springfield, but I really didn't want to drive that far. I go an hour in the opposite direction to pick up mom. This will probably be the last time we drag Mom along. This past week has been such a blur with all my time before and after work taken up with family stuff. Which meant yesterday was a lazy day for me. I couldn't tell you what I did really. Only that it did not include any chores or scrapping lol. And today I will be paying for that. I haven't scrapped much at all so far this quarter. It was a relief that we weren't starting new teams today lol. I hope you are all having a relaxing day!

Thanks nylene. 10 hrs is a lot - I've been doing similar this weekend and am looking forward to iNSD to switch gears back to scrapping. grammadee and justjac - hope the crop is fun and productive! joyfulnana -((((Hugs)))) I think those lazy days are needed now and then Yesterday was housework and picking up sticks/branches in the yard so DD could mow. DH scrubbed two of the trucks and ran a bunch of errands but didn't need me to come too. I also finished up a scanning organising project and started another. Oh and I found rhubarb at the produce shop this past week - it was super expensive ($9/LB) but this is only the second or third time I've ever seen fresh rhubarb in Florida so I splurged and made rhubarb crisp last night - yummy!

Happy May, Pokeys! Thanks, @ nylene, for getting us started again. I will need to do a ton of organization again when I am putting my stuff back I)to the craft room. I am home from the crop. Had a great time. justjac made another batch of fun tee shirts. Will have to share a pic of us in them. Wound up with 30 pages completed. About half were dgk hockey pages I had not gotten to this past winter. Had thought I would get to some Easter pages, but at least I have those to look forward to, and have quite a few of the pages on my list checked off. Will start photographing and sharing after I have unpacked the vehicle, but that won’t happen til tomorrow. joyfulnana you will have a wonderful time at you family cropping weekend next week. What a wonderful family tradition. How was your family get together, gramma ? And your weekend away with hubby, kitbop ? How are you doing, MARIBETHR ? Have you started camping yet? The snow is finally gone from our yard. I bought some seed potatoes and set onions today so I will be ready when the garden is ready to work up.

grammadee, 30 pages??? I can't even imagine. Colour me rainbow impressed justjac - wonderful Tshirts, what a great idea! What do you use to make them? When I get home tomorrow, I have to make a tote bag for our team leader at work. Haven't even decided what words/graphic I'm going to use! I'll just print it onto the transfer paper I have, and iron it on. We're still "away", coming home tomorrow. Even though we're just at BIL/SILs house, and I'm still 50% involved in shopping, cooking, cleaning, it is still a break because in between times I cannot dig into any other chores like I would at home. I guess I'll go hit pinterest up for some tote-bag ideas!

grammadee and justjac , those T-shirts are adorable. What a fun time you all had together. I can't even imagine 30 pages. Wow! That was a productive weekend. I don't envy your unpacking and putting things back in order at home. LOL kitbop , I was hoping your "away" was without cooking and chores. I hope you are having a good visit at least. I'm glad you could get away and clear your mind. I hope you will feel rested. gramma , I thought of you on Saturday and was hoping you had a wonderful evening with family and friends. 50 years is a big milestone. joyfulnana , did you have a Rudy weekend? I hope you have a fun and productive crop with your family over next weekend. I sounds like fun to actually get away and not have to do it online together. I hope you accomplish a lot and visit even more. Linda , I am still organizing and working on photos. I need to do it while I am in the mood, but I'd rather be scrapping. I'm sure you are feeling a bit tired also. Will you print a lot of the photos you have scanned? I've loved your pages of your early years with family (father, mother). Yesterday afternoon I went to the 1950 census to index. I hoped I would get sheets from my hometown and luckily I did. I got so excited I just kept going. I indexed the family of the Dr. who delivered me, two of my grandpa's brothers and families, two of my dad's best friends with their families and lots of people I knew growing up. I did several of my childhood friends and their families. It was hard to stop and go to bed last night!

grammadee is a scrapbooking machine. I made 6 layouts and 11 cards (9 of which were the same design). I started doing a 4x6 mini book for my mother in law but it sounds like it might be too late for her to appreciate that already. The doctors have said there will be no more treatments and that she only has months to live. Dean’s aunt and uncle are arriving today. At least she can have multiple visitors where she is now. kitbop I bought the cut file for the T-shirts on Etsy and cut it out of stretchy heat transfer vinyl on my Silhouette and ironed it on. I need to use my Silhouette more than once every six months. The re-learning is annoying and usually involves swearing.

justjac, I am so sorry for the progress report on your MIL. Sending hugs and prayers for you and DH as well as MIL and her family. I can't imagine doing even 6 pages during a weekend. You and grammadee are scrapping speeders! Glad you still hang out here with us Pokeys! You did a wonderful job on the shirts. I didn't know they had stretchy vinyl. I'm sure that's much better for knit fabrics.

gramma, to be a GOOD scrapper, you have to do things to scrap about! And those things always involve alot of time other than the events themselves. Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful photos of the family's celebration of your golden anniversary. When you can get your breath again, you will have a wonderful time scrapping those! (and all the other pic's you will have of the event).

How are you doing, MARIBETHR ? Have you started camping yet? The snow is finally gone from our yard. I bought some seed potatoes and set onions today so I will be ready when the garden is ready to work up. Doing great thank you. Yes camping began in April, we go April and May and then September and October, we avoid the extremely hot weather of New Mexico and do not go in the summer. Leaving tomorrow for our next adventure.

justjac - I'm so sorry to hear the update on your MIL. gramma - what a lovely celebration! Congratulations! nylene - some of the photos I'm organising are already printed, I'll probably print some/most of the digital ones that have PEOPLE in them but mum took loads of photos of her house/garden, scenery, travels...and I'll be very selective there when I get around to doing photo books MARIBETHR - how fun! do you tent or RV camp? Dh is off today to do errands. We started the day off with DD15 missing her school bus so he drove her to school. Then Midnight had an accident and I had to clean the carpets upstairs. Had DD21's car towed to the mechanic and we followed to talk to them and then went to pay the mortgage and the tow company. Home to find LF had had a mishap on the recliner so I got to clean that. My dryer died so we're trying to decide if DH is going to attempt repairing it or if it is time to replace. In the meantime I have clothes on a drying rack. Dh has taken his truck in for brakes (it did the mechanic visit last week) and it wouldn't start at first but we did get it running by adding new gas (the gas in it is old). Hopefully that's all the fun for today.

RV - mostly just because we are too old for laying on the ground. We like the convenience of having the RV for inclement weather, bed, shower, toity. But we cook outside and spend most of our time outside as long as it is not raining, or being in New Mexico 60mph winds - LOL.

Good Wednesday morning, Pokeys! Sounds like yesterday you had "a DAY", @homeshoolmum. Hoping today is much more quiet and peaceful. I hope you are beginning to feel rested up from the weekend, gramma. Did family travel far to attend? Have they all returned home? kitbop, are you back home? Even if you weren't completely getting pampered I bet it was good to get "away from it all" for the weekend. Speaking of getting away, are you packed up for your family scrap weekend, joyfulnana? Where will YOUR next adventure take place, MARIBETHR? I am still UN packing. Some things I keep in travel ready cases all the time, and those are back in their cubbies. Big and small tools are back in place. But as I started to reintegrate the paper and embellishments, I decided I needed to change up how I am storing some of it. So I moved a few things around yesterday and have a plan now for where a couple of Michaels' storage cubes need to be relocated to. Today I hope to get the rest of my counter cleared off so I can sort and store things. Meanwhile, the surveyors are here, outlining the two acreages that will be carved out of the farmland. Dh keeps tweaking the boundaries, even while the guys are working. I was happy with what we had on paper, but have no idea what it will look like when they get done with this survey. And the garden is gradually drying up. Not sure if we will get the potatoes in this weekend, but I would like to. Never a dull moment...

We had a bit of snow yesterday. The flakes were huge but melted off quickly. I wish we would have some warm weather for a change. I want to get my flower pots filled and in place, but it's just too cold still. Usually by Mother's Day we are free from a hard freeze, but I think it will be a week later this year. Linda, your car issues make me tired. Doesn't it seem that everything happens at once? I'm glad things are all going again. I am so sorry about your kitties. I have to say it again, you are a better pet mom than I would be. Carpet cleaning would wipe me out! You are certainly getting a lot of photos scanned and organized. Your family will thank you when they can find what they are looking for. That's a big task. gramma, your photos are wonderful. It will be nice to see what beautiful pages you make with them! Angie told me to tell you Happy Anniversary! I'm glad you had a good time. maribeth, I didn't realize you had started your RVing already. I hope you have a great trip. Are you planning any trips in our area? I think I told you that my idea of "roughing it" is a hotel without room service. I have never been a camper. I was 14 when I finally just refused to go camping with the family. I would get so carsick driving in the mountains and it made for a very miserable trip. I actually think they were glad for me to stay home because they didn't have to stop and let me throw up over and over. (Shudder) grammadee, did I miss why the surveyors are carving out farm land? Sounds like your reorganizing and putting things away has been productive. I am loving the pages you did over the weekend. kellyr21, how are you doing? I would imagine that you are having nice weather now. I'd love to just come take a walk with you in warm weather. Are you working on anything crafty? I noticed that Walgreens has 50% off photos so I need to get some ordered today. Then I need to get myself back in gear to scrap.

grammadee - yes - today was more peaceful although my dryer still doesn't work and might not be fixed/replaced before DH leaves on Saturday. What does it mean to carve acreages out of the farmland? nylene - our car issues are making me tired also. Deferred maintenance being caught up...slowly and expensively. Carpet cleaning wears me out too but we picked up a second cleaner for upstairs tonight at Aldi so I'll no longer have to lug the (heavy) carpet cleaner up and down stairs -it seems wasteful to have two but with my knee issues - I have to be careful on the stairs. Wow on snow - we're in the 90s already and I'm missing spring weather. Hopefully spring appears out your way soon. Hi kellyr21

nylene and Linda , eventually we will be selling the farm land. Right now we are renting it to a neighbour, and if things don't change, they may end up purchasing it. But they are not interested in the residence portion, and this corner of the land is criss crossed by waterways and boggy areas that would make it difficult to farm. The nice thing for us is that these areas also provide alot of tree cover and space for walking, quadding, and other recreation--as well as space for birds and wildlife, and room for the big garden tucked down by the creek. So we are applying to the county to divide the land now, even though we will continue to own it all. We were going to separate out one acreage, but dd and family are interested in purchasing a portion (also part of this unfarmable corner) as well, so we have sent in the application for two acreages which has been tentatively approved. Once the official survey goes in plus a few other inspections submitted, we will hopefully have it confirmed by the county. It is a time consuming process, so better to do it now than when we are actually trying to finalize a land sale.
Oh, and apparently surveyors are like any other contractors. They came yesterday for the day and promised they would finish today but a bigger job came along which had a tighter deadline, so they called this morning to post pone. Maybe next week. Then we start with the next inspector...

I know joyfulnana is off for a scrappy retreat with family. Are any of the rest of you scrapping tomorrow? My weekend plans have changed. Dsil had a late meeting today so they had planned to leave in the morning. Then we got almost an inch of rain on the just worked up garden. Also dh has a really bad cold, and didn't feel much like gardening this weekend. So they postponed until NEXT weekend. Hoping we will be able to get the garden in then, cuz I will be off to Nanaimo the week after that. Hadn't planned to scrap iNSD, but I may work on my samples for next Friday's interNational PEAS Day event here on the board. I have been cleaning and organizing all week, so I have some lovely space to mess up LOL...

I'm scrapping this weekend and all week into next weekend if all goes as planned. DH left this morning for Texas and should be back next Saturday. No driver = no errands to run or places to be. such a pity. Today is DD22's birthday but she's not here. They went to a plant show this morning and I got a picture of their new Virginia Spiderwort.

Happy International Scrapbook Day!
Last night I was looking online and saw that Paige Evans is having challenges, prizes, and FREE CUT FILES on her Facebook. I have never been on Facebook but Em set up an acct for me years ago so I could play a game with Alex. I had to call her to see if she remembered name and password so I could join Paige's FB for today. Of course she knew! I don't want to use my FB acct for anything but game playing with Alex, but I couldn't pass up Paige's beautiful cut files. I probably won't be able to even get in it ever again. LOL. So I was up early to start at 8:00 Eastern and have been downloading the files every hour.
I have just about finished 2 pages and need to pull some photos for later today. I have laundry and a bit of housework to do today and a quick run to the grocery store, but otherwise I plan to scrap and organize.
I hope you each get a bit of scrappy time sometime this weekend!

Happy Mothers' Day to the Moms and Grand-Moms! And (((((HUGS))))) to you who are feeling the loss of yours. Hope you get to spend some time with your dMIL today, justjac, and that she gets some happiness out of your visit. Dh and I are heading to a restaurant in the next town for brunch this morning. If every other holiday is celebrated by my cooking a special meal, this one is celebrated by eating OUT! Not much else going on, but expecting to be receiving phone calls and Face Time visits with the kids and grandkids. Whatever you are doing today, I hope you enjoy it!

Echoing grammadee 's sentiments... Happy Mother's Day! We have nothing too celebratory planned. DD is making me brunch. Both DS's are at work. We have to move some stuff out of my Dad's. DH asked what I wanted for supper and I haven't decided. It's a *gorgeous* day so I'll probably do some yard work. grammadee - I was kinda wish it was raining and I could scrap! nylene, glad you could access Paige's files! I downloaded them in previous years, but never used them. My cameo sits unloved. So I didn't bother to even look this year. Linda - my DS#2 turns 22 on May 17. I hope you have a wonderful week to yourself!

nylene - thanks for the heads up about Paige Evans...looks at my download folder...hopefully I can make good use of the cut files. grammadee - glad you didn't have to cook yesterday. I ordered delivery much to DD15's delight (that's just not a thing we do usually) and she baked brownies. kitbop - oh I'm sure I will enjoy the quiet week. Hope everyone who was celebrating yesterday had a good day. ((((Hugs))) to those who find Mother's day hard. Did some gardening this morning, need to do a little housework, and hope to get soem more scrapping in.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys. Glad you got Paige's free files, nylene. I ended up purchasing a set of 30 "Boy Cut Files" from her @ $1 a file. They are the background designs like all over arrows. But I haven't tried one yet. Was fighting with my Silhouette over the weekend to get it to cut an outline title I had designed myself. Couldn't get it to cut cleanly the cs I was using. Finally found a way to make it work, but by that time I was less than excited about using the result. I think I need a new blade. Or a new brain... Need to get organized in a bit to drive to the city for my mammogram. Because of my medical history, the travelling scanner vans are not able to give accurate readings, and they don't include follow up like ultrasound, so now I go to a medical imaging centre in Edmonton once per year. After my appointment I will drive to dd's. Dgs is excited to take me out for supper tonight. Apparently there is a burger place where you can order all kinds of cominations of patties and extras, and they also have options that are gluten free for his mom and garlic free for me. Good thing I got some samples done for my Friday hosting of PEA days. Tomorrow I plan to stop at Costco, then need to stop at a number of garden centres to pick up seeds and other supplies on my way home. Wednesday the freezer needs to be defrosted while dh picks up the beef from the butcher. Thursday I have appointments all day--hair in morning and B12 shot in pm. Friday afternoon my 3rd Covid booster is booked. DD and family hope to come Friday evening to plant garden on the weekend. Okay. Gotta go get dressed and pack my overnight bag. See ya later!
