I finally caught up on comments. Whew! What wonderful projects posted this weekend. grammadee, thanks for the clarification on points. I hope your packing and travel go well tomorrow. Linda, I am way behind on adding points too. Maybe tomorrow..... We spent most of the day sitting in medical offices. Then we picked up our flowers to fill our pots. I was disappointed that they didn't have any dracaena that wasn't 5 feet tall. I may try some other nurseries in the morning. They make the pots look so pretty. My page for Pea Day 3 just isn't going to get done for a while. I hope I get some scrappy time by the end of the week. joyfulnana, I will host a Sat. night too. I may have to wait until the first weekend in June. I don't know what my family has planned for Memorial Day weekend. Sending out good thoughts and wishes to all our Pokey Pea Pals. Please be careful everyone!

nylene - sitting in medical offices doesn't sound like a very fun day - but probably a necessary one. Would love to see a picture of your flower pots. Hope you get scrappy time soon. No scrapping for me today - but maybe tomorrow. I have some more photos from San Agustin of the rest of us at DD22's reenactment on my desk. And I need to order photos as well - never a fun task. Prayers for all our pokey friends.

Linda, my pots don't look very good right now as they are just planted. I did go hunting for dracaena this morning early and the place we went yesterday had put some out. We got them all planted and did the tomatoes too. I'll post a photo of the pots once they start to bloom. I know ordering photos is not fun, but think of all the pages you can do when you get them! I worked on adding up points today. Why do I try to itemize? I may give up and do Easy Peasy next month. I'm hoping to get started on another layout today.

Happy Tuesday Peas! I am getting settled after our apartment ordeal. Suddenly, we had several things that had to be taken care of. As a result, we had to pack up lots of our home and removed it all in a day!!! Geez! We were in a hotel for a week and got back home last Monday. We still are trying to get everything back in order. Whew! All this sudden upheaval triggered my anxiety and grief. Plus, all this happening around Mother's Day was so tough. Thanks nylene for thinking of me that day. When we came home the sink disposal they fixed before we left isn't working! SO frustrating! Now we hope to have it fixed this week. Thanks for hearing my venting! It was so stressful but I am grateful it wasn't worst. This week, I am working on my art and maybe I will finish my puzzle. I started a new embroidery at the hotel and plan to continue it. I gotta go back and see what you all have been up to. Waving hi and sending hugs to you gals!

MARIBETHR I think of you every time I hear about the fires in NM. I hope they stay far from you It is heartbreaking. We are fairly safe live in the flatlands, but prairie and grass fires are occurring as well. We have had to stop our spring camping due to the fires, just nowhere safe to camp, and want to stay close to home in the event of a grass fire. Unfortunately the grass fires have primarily been started by human causes right off roadways and we are not far from a major highway and we are the first home a fire would hit if the grass fire started in that vicinity. Thank you for thinking of me.

MARIBETHR, I hate seeing how big that fire has become, and think about you every time I see it on the news. I hope you remain safe and that no grass fires spring up in your area. People forget that pulling off the side of the road in grass can start a fire with their hot exhaust pipe and mufflers. It seems that we get a lot of fires started that way in the late summer and fall. I'm sorry the fires have put a crimp in your RVing plans. kellyr21, it's so nice to see your big smile pop up. I am so sorry for the apt. trouble. A week in a hotel sounds great....unless you weren't planning on it and have to keep doing the same day-to-day things you do every week. Then it's a real inconvenience. I hope things are back in order now and that you can get that disposal fixed again. What are you embroidering now? joyfulnana, I went to put a thanks for hosting note on the Crop thread and saw that I must have disconnected the whole group! I am so very sorry. I don't know how I did that, but I'll be more careful next time. I hope you will still let me participate, even with my lack of techno abilities! I worked on the 3rd Pea Day challenge you posted (thank you) and hope to get it finished tonight. I really liked the sketch.

A quick note to let you know I have arrived safely at my ds’s home on Vancouver Island. Bit of quiet time while ds (who picked me up at the airport) finishes a report he needs to submit before they leave on vacation Saturday morning, and before the girls arrive back from school. So since Sunday I will have visited with all my “kids”, all their spouses, and 9 of my 11 dgk’s. And I do have a few pics to scrap Can’t believe I totally dropped the ball, nylene , on wishing you Happy Birthday on Sunday. Hope your family gathering was fun and they treated you like the queen you are. kellyr21, are you back home yet? That kind of unexpected interruption is always stressful. I hope all is repaired and you have your life back in order. How is your dh’s recovery coming, gramma ? Hoping all is well. Have you heard any more about your mom’s treatment plan, knutschen ? Hoping all goes well with your own follow up appointments. What is everyone’s plans for the long weekend? I believe I will be ferrying one of the girls to work and sports, but I have not had the details yet. Ds was busy getting me here and showing me the house. But usually his dw writes out a detailed itinerary.

Happy Thursday! nylene , I knew your birthday was coming and I hope you had a marvelous day!!!! My prayers and heart are with all you sweet peas that are having family losses and illnesses! I TOTALLY get it and I hope you take care of yourself, too. Our home is 80% back to normal! I am so relived! The plumber came yesterday and fix the kitchen sink. So it felt good being able to cook, use and wash dishes finally. Yes, this was a real ordeal!!! Hopefully, we will have no more interruptions for a while. I felt like last night was my first night sleeping better. grammadee , yes we are back home for over a week now. nylene , I wish I could of rested well at the hotel but we just had too much going on and uncertainty about how long we would be there. But it was cool being next to the mall so I enjoyed walking over there as much as I wanted. Also, there was one of my favorite parks near by so Ron and I went over there as much as we could. So peaceful! I FINALLY finished my 1,000 piece puzzle!!! That was the biggest puzzle I have ever done. It was hard but I felt so accomplished when I finished!!! Yay! Puzzle Finished by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene , I haven't worked on my embroidery this week but I will circle back to it soon. I have been in art mode and loving painting. I look forward to sharing my art when its time. Painting is so soothing for my grieving heart! SO glad I have such a colorful outlet. My scrapping and and card mojo is still on vacation but I have enjoyed seeing you alls layouts. That one you did of your dggd Swayzee is SO adorable and one of my favorites you have done! joyfulnana - I loved seeing Abbey in one of your layouts. So cute her trying to understand the mouse on the computer. LOL! How is your puzzle going?

kellyr21, I am glad you are safely tucked back in your home. I am eager to see the painting you have been doing when you are ready to share. I love your puzzle. I love doing puzzles with lots of items in the photo rather than just a scene with mostly sky and green. I like picking out parts and putting them together. You did a great job. grammadee, you are such a good traveler. Travel really takes it out of me. I am far more comfortable in my own little house, but then I don't get to see the distant grands. I hope you have a wonderful time and that all is well at home while you are gone. There are only 4 school days left this year. It will be fun to have Alex around a little more. His Dance Festival is on Monday and I think I should be able to attend.

Good Morning! This thread moves so fast lol. nylene I've disconnected the whole crop before too, I felt mortified but it worked out lol. I slow down and check twice now lol. I'm glad you'll be seeing Alex more often. Rudy's last day of school was Thursday. He's officially a second grader and I don't know how the time goes so fast! grammadee I agree with nylene you are such a good traveler! I am not. I get whiny and miss being home lol. But that's awesome that you have seen all the kids and grands this year and have lots to scrap. kellyr21 sounds like you have had a LOT going on! It must feel so good to be back home, even if it's in disarray. Your puzzle is fab! I don't think I've done a 1000 piece ever. 500 is the largest one lately. I've got groceries to get and I decided to switch the sleepover night to Saturday, and then I'll have Bub Sunday too while his dad is at practice. We'll see how this goes, because as I'm writing this, it sounds like a long stretch of time with an active boy lol. I'm going to pick up some bird seed and take him to feed the ducks and play at the park tomorrow. I decided to start using my cricut more often, but man it's been awhile and I feel like I'm learning all over again and wasting lots of paper for no end result. Maybe I'll sell it all and buy thickers and dies lol. I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend!

Hi peas! Good luck joyfulnana and grammadee with your grand-kid wrangling this weekend! kellyr21 - yay, I'm glad you are HOME! I wish my cats would let me do a puzzle. I am off next week. We planned a trip, but changed our minds as gas prices skyrocketed and it would have added just too much to the cost. We put the money into our "big trip" fund instead So my new plans are to paint the house. Unsure how many rooms we'll get through, but it's long overdue so I'm hoping at least the bedrooms and kitchen. I'm supposed to be at the bank right now finishing up my Dad's banking. I've been waiting for this appointment for 2 weeks! As I left the house, the skies opened and a big thunder storm hit. I was fortunate to get the parking spot right in front of the bank door, and dashed in (still like getting a bucket of water dumped over you, one of those downpours that soaks you in 1 second). Oh well, I'm not vain. Opened the bank door to a lobby FULL of people staring at me. They were waiting for the storm to pass...and the bank was closed because they'd lost power. SIGH. I don't know what will happen now...if I can meet with this guy later when they get power back? IF they'll get power back today??? It's really kinda funny...my Dad up above saying "You think you're gonna get my money???" Just like him

kitbop, I am sorry about the fiasco with your dad's banking. I hope you can get it done soon. There is so much paperwork after a death. My sister was my parents' executor and she was still getting medical bills 7 years later. Dad passed in 2010 and just last year she closed out all the accounts. He had little bits of $ in various local banks. I hope things go easier for you. Is your Covid completely gone or do you have any residual effects? Hope your whole family is well. joyfulnana, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has cut everyone off. I didn't know I did it. I will be more careful next time. LOL. gramma, I saw that you were hosting a crop on Sat. I meant to hop on and let you know we were tied up with DGS's college graduation. It just slipped my mine. We have a H.S. graduation this week. When did our grands get so grown up??? I told Angie that I forgot to take a photo of the Girl Scout cards I made so she sent me one. Here are my 4 Pokey Peas posts for the month. Happy EasterHappy 1st BirthdaySwayzee @ 3

nylene - I love those cards - I'm going to steal a screenshot and tuck that idea away for when DD15's troopmates graduate @kibop - sorry about the banking - I hope you've gotten it resolved. There's SO much to do when a parent passes - hard work at a time when it's hard anyway. ((((Hugs))) joyfulnana - I've been using my cricut more lately...having it out and in a convenient spot helps and so did organising my SVGs so it was easy to see if I had one that would work. It IS getting easier the more regularly I use it. Tomorrow is the last day of school - can't wait! Then DD15 will go horse camping Fri- Mon with some friends. In the meantime, I've been scanning and captioning and organising photos from 1972...including the infamous (in our family) photo of me, drunk at a wedding...I was 20 months old (!) and apparently not very well supervised as the story goes that I toddled around quietly drinking the dregs out of all the abandoned glasses... Mum captioned this picture "this party was fun"

nylene - I'll definitely end up scrapping that - it was the first of 3 times (my parents were apparently slow learners...I was my mum's firstborn) - apparently at my sister's wedding later that same year (I was 26m then) I did the same thing...they found me in a corner with all the glasses I had collected and lined up on a chair and was sampling. And then at Christmas that year when I was almost 28m - mum made rum balls and put on the top of a tall bookcase...she said I wasn't a climber...except this one time I apparently piled books etc... on a chair and helped myself to rumballs. I don't think they took photos those times - at least I've never seen any.

Oh my Linda LOL what a story and what a photo!! That's hilarious, I'm sure it wasn't at the time, and I'm sure the rumballs weren't either, but it's funny lol. I survived my Saturday/Sunday with Bub and it went really well. I'm not sure if I want to make it the regular schedule, but I did feel like I got more of my weekend with Friday night and all day Saturday. He came over about 7. We went to the park and one of his cousins just happened to come by too so that was fun for him. We played Pokemon GO and had lunch. It was a pretty chill day. Now I've got to get myself in gear and get some of the long list of pages I want to do done. I did finally get photos picked out for the Red part of Shimelle's class I'm supposedly taking. I haven't done anything with it yet lol. kitbop I hope you got your Dad's banking sorted out I haven't had to deal with that yet, but I understand it's a lot. I hope you are enjoying your time off! Things are still pretty slow at work (of course, we finally got enough help) and I'm sure the high gas prices, especially diesel are playing a part. Well that and the weather. I'm not complaining though lol. My heart is so heavy today, yesterday's shooting was horrific and I can't imagine what those families are going through. It hit pretty close to home with Bub being 7. I can't imagine, I'm so heartbroken for them. Sending hugs to all my pokey friends. justjac you and Dean have been in my thoughts as well.

My heart is so heavy today, yesterday's shooting was horrific and I can't imagine what those families are going through My heart just sank. I love the US, the people, the variety, the cities, the history, and everything it gives the world. It was the shining example for the world of a progressive "new" country and culture, what democracy and freedom should be, but the past few years have been rough to watch. I am awfully glad my kids are here, and not there, but I see things changing here in Canada too. We are in the midst of painting. It's really hard. First - it's way overdue, so there is a lot of prep work and deep dust removal required first. Next, because our house is so tiny, we can only attack one room at a time, and the contents of that room are put into hallways and tarped in the middle of the room and we're always bashing our shins and it's a huge mess! We have DS's room done, and the bathroom. Tomorrow it's the hallways and front entryway, and then prepping DD's room for Friday. Hoping to get my own bedroom painted on the weekend. And that will be enough for this week! The bank hasn't called me to reschedule which is really aggravating! The power was out Saturday/Sunday for them, but you'd think they'd get back to me by now (I e-mailed them). Linda - that is a wonderful photo and funny childhood story! At least your mom has already given you the title of your page!!!

joyfulnana - I'm glad you made it through the weekend - sounds like it was fun. Good luck with the photos...looks at the new order of prints that arrived yesterday to join all the old orders that aren't scrappped...yeah, me too and yes, like you my heart is heavy...those poor children and teachers and their families...horrifying. We so desperately need better gun laws and better mental health diagnosis/treatment here. kitbop - painting is hard work and I've only ever done one room at a go. I bet it'll be nice when it's all back to rights though. Goof luck with the banking - what a pain. justjac - your MIL remains in my prayers (((Hugs))) and prayers for all our Pokies in need Today is the first day of summer vacation as well as day one of operation buckle down to healthier eating and exercise - the past couple of years I got seriously off track which isn't good as a diabetic. Taking DD15's phone in tonight to hopefully get a new battery. Probably going to need to buy a dryer also - mine died back the beginning of the month. DH has pulled it apart three times now and replaced the belt. I got ONE load dried this morning and it's back to not tumbling. I think he's out of ideas. I'm not heartbroken to replace it - it's been a lemon since day one - we had THREE different warranty repairs in the first year and it's been finicky all along. But I am tired of buying new appliances - since Jan 2021, we've replaced the freezer, the fridge, and the dishwasher.

Good luck with your Buckle Down Day, Linda . And with the dryer acquisition. Hoping this is the last big appliance you need to buy for awhile. Laundry is piling up around here but I don’t have an excuse. I told the girls to get everything downstairs by tomorrow morning and I will do all the loads tomorrow. That page and the story that goes with it are hilarious! TFS. I hate house painting, kitbop , even if I am not the one wielding the brush and roller. All the disruption drives me crazy. Hopefully the hallways will go quickly cuz you don’t need to move stuff around to do those. And I hope the service people at the bank remember what their job is and you can actually do your dad’s banking. Your weekend sounds perfect for time with Gramma, joyfulnana . I hope you can get back into scrapping now that you have done a few pages. I felt like I struggled yesterday morning after leaving scrapping for just a couple of weeks. But I got two 2-pagers done. And then two more this morning. Today went much more smoothly. Okay. Gotta go. Meeting someone for lunch today…

Like everyone else, my heart just aches for the families and loved ones of the Uvalde shooting. This just keeps happening. I think the only way we will get this stopped is to elect people who are willing to stand up against NRA and those who think guns should be handed out willy-nilly. Heart breaking events will continue if we don't stand up and be counted. Those poor sweet, innocent children.(and teachers) I have wasted the morning trying to get help with a problem I am having with Silhouette Designs studio designs. I download them and the thumbnail image shows up in the library covered by a big colored square. Sometimes I can't see any of the design. I waited 13 days in March for them to get back to me about the problem and I was finally able, after hours of working, to correct one file. I have at least 8 more covered now. They don't take phone calls and I have tried to chat, but they never come on. I'm sure it will be another 13 days before I hear back from the email. Their customer service is terrible. I was trying to make a Baby Shower card, but have decided to do something else. Today was the last day of school so we are taking Em and Alex to 5 Guys for burgers tonight. Doug is out of town this week but we wanted to celebrate Alex's last day. He has been so worried that he wouldn't "pass" to 4th grade. He is so conscientious and is an excellent student. I hate that he worries so much. Do you all have big plans for Memorial Day? We don't have graves to decorate around here, and we don't like to be on the roads during this busy holiday. We will make a trip to Idaho in a week or two to care for our graves there. We will probably just do needed jobs around the house this weekend. kitbop , our home could use some new paint, but we are not that ambitious. I hope you get everything done that you want. joyfulnana , will you have a long weekend with Rudy over the holiday? Your last weekend sounds like fun with him. Is he out of school yet? grammadee , how is the baby-sitting going? It was fun to see you for a few minutes yesterday. I need to get something constructive done in this room while I continue to wait for Silhouette to chat.

Have a wonderful Last Day of School supper with Alex, nylene. Our kids in Alberta and BC will be in school for another month. It was great seeing you, too. I may open up another pop up next Tuesday morning. Today I got to meet cycworker IN PERSON today for lunch and a lovely long chat! The girls were a little sceptical when I said I was meeting someone I knew from on line. They asked what I knew about them. I told them she was nice and that she is a scrapbooker. They then relaxed and said, “Oh, okay then”. I guess they don’t see scrapbookers as a threat LOL. I too am super sad for those families whose children died in that shooting. And for all the kids who survived yet have to face their terror every day just to go to school. And I hope govt can find a way to reduce chances of this happening again. Such a terrible tragedy.

I don't think I knew about this thread... Pokey Peas??? It was absolutely WONDERFUL to get to spend some real time with grammadee today. Dee did you decide to pop over to Crafty Capers? After our lovely visit, I had to head home & prepare for my Toastmasters meeting tonight. Our club is still meeting via Zoom, which is nice; it means I don't have to drive in the rain tonight. I can't even talk about the shooting. It's heartbreaking.

Happy Thursday! Waving hi to you all and miss your sweet faces. This week, I have been getting back to normal around here. It is good to be back to most of my routines now. This Sunday is my 55th birthday! I can't believe I am officially a senior now! LOL! Still thinking about what I want to do for fun. Hopefully, next weekend, we will go away to our favorite hotel for a few night to just relax. I am looking forward to that as a bday present. Our little humming bird stop building her nest a few weeks ago. I wonder where she went? I am such a caregiver! LOL! In fact I haven't seen any of them zooming around. I have been working on art this week. It has been such a comfort and joy. I want to start another puzzle soon. joyfulnana , 1,000 piece puzzle was hard but cool. It just took longer than I wanted. I probably will stick to the 500 pieces for a while. kitbop , I can imagine your cat playing with your puzzle after all the work you did. Not good! LOL! nylene - I got your card!!!! It is so pretty and really lifted my spirits!!!! Thank you so much for your continued cheers and support. I need it these days! Your layouts are so good! I love seeing your sweet great grands. They are super adorable and so photogenic. SO glad you were able to spend some time with your grands at Five Guys. I love their fries! linda - LOL! Your baby picture and the story are so funny! What a memory!!! LOL! Horse back riding sounds fun! I hope your dd had a ball! Are you still working on your garden? oh, how are your cats doing? We have a neighbor here in our apartment building. She has her cat on a leash and walks it around. That is the first time I have ever seen anyone walking their cat! Great idea and I know that cat loves getting outside and sniffing the plants. kitbop - I am feeling your pain with the house painting. Although we didn't have our place painted, still all the moving things and covering things is a bummer! Hang in there with your dad's stuff, too. grammadee - What a fun scrapbooking meet up you had. It would be so great for all of us to be able to hang out in person. justjac and knutschen - Sending you both a hug. I know what you are going through and I am praying and thinking of you. Sending you some sunshine!

Yes this IS a regular thread, and these ladies have made me feel very welcome. It’s nice to come to a thread where we can talk about scrapbooking AND about all the other stuff. And yes I DID visit that LSS and picked up a few things. Thanks for being such a great scrappy ambassador/enabler. They have a wonderful variety of fun things. I really wanted that die with the quilt stitching on it, and it really wouldn’t have taken up much room in my suitcase, but I dragged myself out of there without it. It will probably haunt me now. kellyr21 I would be delighted to meet up with you too, but it was my ds and ddil who were in LA this week, not me. I hope you share your art with us. It is always gorgeous.

I don't think I knew about this thread... Pokey Peas??? It was absolutely WONDERFUL to get to spend some real time with grammadee today. Dee did you decide to pop over to Crafty Capers? And yes I DID visit that LSS and picked up a few things. Thanks for being such a great scrappy ambassador/enabler. They have a wonderful variety of fun things. I really wanted that die with the quilt stitching on it, and it really wouldn’t have taken up much room in my suitcase, but I dragged myself out of there without it. It will probably haunt me now. They do have an online store, too I need to send you that other online store, too and get the one you mentioned in Edmonton.

Good Morning! grammadee how awesome that you met cycworker in person! And funny that the girls relaxed once they found out she is a scrapbooker lol. Scrapbookers are NICE Are you scrapping pages about the mountain laundry? Linda good luck with the appliances, it's always such a pain when they quit and even getting the new one bought and in, ugh. And good luck getting back on track! It's so hard for me once I fall off of establishing healthier habits. But I'm to a point where I have no choice. nylene funny that Alex was worried about passing, when I asked Rudy if he passed first grade he said "of course. No one flunks first grade" LOL. He's wrong of course, but I'm not sure how often younger kids get held back these days. I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with your silhouette. I didn't realize their customer service is so hard to reach. Sounds like cricut service. kellyr21 Happy Birthday a little early! I remember when I was 50-54 and everything for senior discounts and such started at 55. Until I was 55 and then suddenly it was 60! Now that I am a senior - that word, sometimes I don't know how to feel about it lol - I forget to ask for those special discounts. I guess because I still don't see myself that way lol. I hope you'll share your art when you are ready. I love seeing it and it's always beautiful. kitbop I love a newly painted space, but man I don't enjoy the doing of it. I hope you get everything you want done this week. No Rudy this weekend, the first holiday weekend I can remember that didn't fall on Dad's weekend lol. His last day of school was last week. On field day, one of the contests was to move the most water from one bucket to another. That kids loves math, so figured out if he focused on having the most water in the sponge, instead of trying to be the fastest that would be best. And he won lol. I'll be going up to mom's today. She's decided she is ready to move to assisted living after landing in the hospital twice in the last 6 weeks. She has diabetes, and has never been good at managing it. She's had several incidents lately of it being too low at night and she literally falls out of bed and can't get herself off the floor. Fortunately the building she lives in has a pull chain for EMT's. She went to short term care yesterday and today I'll go get her rent paid - I just got my name as signer on her accounts a couple months ago, whew!- and pick up some things for her. And then I guess me and my siblings will have the next month to get her things moved out of her apartment. I have no idea where it's all going to end up. I'm not sure how long before they get her into longer term care. A few weeks I believe. But watching all of this sure has me thinking about what my own kids could be going through if I don't take better care of myself. So I'll be with you on that bench, or on that walk Linda . I feel like my scrappy license should be taken away I've done so little this year. I seem to be in more of a season of organizing rather than creating. But I have my first red kit ready to go and I *hope* to scrap along with the live at some point this weekend. I hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

joyfulnana - nice to see you this morning! Your post resonates with me in many ways. Bad scrapper, bad. I planned a little daytrip with DD today, part of the plan being to shop at my LSS. But I've cancelled on her (she'll go alone for the other parts of the plan - helping at a dance comp with her studio, and picking up the boyfriend ) because I realized I can spend 8 hours on the trip, or I can spend 8 hours on the house/yard and actual SCRAPBOOKING! The Shimelle class is inspiring me - did you see what Chinagirl828 and AussieMeg have made with the classes? Their examples alone will get my mojo running today. Love your Rudy - good for him for thinking strategy rather than "race"! I'm really REALLY sorry about your Mom. Sounds like our situation 1 year ago when my Dad moved from his apartment to a retirement home. He took nothing with him and it was up to us to empty the apartment. You have my sympathy and well-wishes! Diabetes scares me. We eat a LOT of sugar. We try to counteract it by exercise/moving a lot, and DH and I both do the intermittent fasting thing (we don't eat at all from 8pm to 12 noon). Ironically, when there are no treats in the house, it's worse for me and I'm more inclined to binge. Goes back to not being allowed any treats when I was a kid, so if I feel deprived I lose all willpower. grammadee - so nice you could meet a fellow pea! When do you head home? How is the weather on the Island? Can you take an extra deep breath of the ocean air for me please? Hi cycworker, nice to see you here! nylene - grrr about the Silhouette CS! Did they get your straightened around? DD and I had planned to go to 5 guys today on our daytrip but now I won't get the chance With the price of gas these days, we don't make 30 minute drives for a single purpose anymore! In past years, we ALWAYS drove out to a farmers market on Saturday mornings, but those habits are changing, all due to gas prices. Linda - appliances are SO unreliable these days. I'm on my 3rd dryer in 20 years. The only good thing about dryers is that at least you can line dry things in a pinch. I actually line dry about half our laundry already just for wear/tear and shrinkage reasons. I have SUPER long legs and grew up with pants that were never long enough, being called "floods", so I got in a habit of only air drying pants to save every bit of length I could Now, when the washer breaks, it's an EMERGENCY. kellyr21 - I adore hummingbirds - they are so sweet. I hope yours come back! Don't invite me over: It's like I have a "hummingbird repulsion" smell. Even when people invite me to their house to watch their hummingbirds, they don't show up, and the friends can do nothing but babble about how strange it is! I have seen ONE hummingbird ONCE despite all our best efforts in multiple parts of the country! Our painting is progressing. My knees hurt because I'm the edge painter so I've done too much kneeling and squatting. Depending on my activities today, I may open a crop this evening - anyone available to join me?

Thanks grammadee - I'm hoping this is my last appliance also. The washer is pretty new (bought shortly before we moved) but the stove will be $$$ if it needs replacing as we'll need another downdraft stove or we'll need to hire someone to install a vent/hood for a regular one. So fingers crossed on that. How wonderful you got to meet up with cycworker - and welcome to the thread cycworker ! nylene - I'm sorry about the silhouette issues - that's absolutely awful customer service. No plans for Memorial Day here - just stuff that needs doing around the house. Poor Alex -it's hard when they worry so much. My youngest is similar - she got straight A's this year while being convinced she was on the verge of failing. kellyr21 - Happy Birthday! Looking forward to seeing you share more art when you're up to. joyfulnana - ((((Hugs))) Some seasons are more about organsing than scrapping -I think it's all about balance. kitbop - I don't mind line drying but DH hasn't put up a line here yet so all I have is a small drying rack in my kitchen that doesn't hold a full load...it's been almost a month, I'm ready for my dryer back. And your story of 'floods' is very familiar - I've been buying men's jeans lately and seems to have fixed the issue. Good luck with the painting - edge painting is definitely the hardest part. DD15 ended up not going camping this weekend - the daughter of the family she was going with was 'coughing up a storm' and it was decided it might be better for DD15 to go another time. DH and the other mum made this call so for once I wasn't the bad guy which was nice. DD is disappointed but agreed it was for the best. I don't know but I suspect the other family isn't vaxxed... my little kittens are all grown up now - PadBear is a solid, sturdy cat, quite a good-size. Dusty is a bit more delicate boned and lighter but still probably at least 7lbs. We're transitioning them to adult cat food...it's going swell...they've been eating the kitten food out of the mix of the two kibbles. Kitten food bag is almost empty now so they're going to have to adjust soon. not the best picture but here they are

Good Saturday morning, Pokeys! These girls rise late weekend mornings. I had my coffee, put together a 2 pager and fed the pets (who were released from the girls’ rooms when they heard me moving around LOL) but have yet to see the young ladies. Last night they settled down with popcorn and M&M’s to binge watch a TV series Stranger Things. They invited me in to take a couple of pic’s, but since it was obviously a sister only event, I left them to it and went to bed with my book. They agreed we should do something together today, but have yet to tell me what they decided we could do. I suspect eating dinner out. I hope your Silhouette problems can be solved, nylene. It is sad what the school system does to kids’ self confidence. If straight A students worry, imagine what it does to kids who have challenges! I love Rudy’s attitude! Dd has made appointments with a school psychologist and an Occupational Therapist to help get proper assistance at school next year to help her ds with his ADHD and attachment trauma. Don’t hand in your scrapper card, joyfulnana. You may not have completed many pages but they are wonderful pages. Have a wonderful child free long weekend! My knees hurt just THINKING about your house painting, kitbop. Glad you are taking a break today and are inspired by Shimelle and the people here who are actually doing the classes. I don’t have the supplies here to take them on and I have not been accessing her site cuz my pc at home is the one that remembers all my passwords. Happy birthday, kellyr21! I hope you have a wonderful getaway to celebrate it. I hope you do drop in here from time to time, cycworker. Didn’t I tell ya this was a welcoming bunch?

Good morning grammadee - DD15 didn't get up until 1230 today and that's on the earlier side for a saturday for her... Hopefully the appts are helpful for your DGS. DD15 has some learning challenges (we suspect dysgraphia and some auditory processing issues) but because she's so very bright (she's in the gifted program) and makes A's, the school really hasn't been able to work with her - they need to (and rightfully so) focus on kids at risk of failure - we've worked at home with her - her brother had similar challenges so I already had some tools in my toolbox so to speak. But I know she was discouraged this year when her English teacher used her essay (not identified but of course she recognised her own work) as an example of what a poor essay looked like. I'm labelling more photos from 1972 today - I keep thinking I'm done and keep finding more
