Hi, everyone, and welcome cycworker! This thread was started on the OLD 2peas and I participated each week. The hostess asked if I could take it over for the summer...but she never came back. When this website started I added it here. The intent is to keep slower scrappers going, but we really have just become friends who love scrapbooking. It was nice to see you on Wed for a short while. You know we are all jealous that you got to meet grammadee in person! joyfulnana, I am so proud of Rudy that he quickly figured out how to be the most efficient. What a cutie! I took Alex all day yesterday while Em did some deep cleaning. He started his own scrapbook and wants to have another day to add to it. He spent a short time in the shop with DH, but didn't stay long there. I hope I can have him come lots of days this summer. I am so sorry about your mother. I hope her move goes well. I know that it puts a lot of stress on you to take over the paperwork, etc. Old age is not what it's cracked up to be! grammadee, how fun to get to have lunch with cycworker. It's always such a treat to meet a Pea! When do you return home? Thanks for starting the crop on Wed. I wish I could have stayed longer. kitbop, I didn't get any help from Silhouette. I waited for 2 hours for them to respond to the chat. I will email, but know that it takes them 2 weeks to get back to me. Em thinks she can help me find a work-around. It is just so maddening. I'm sorry you gave up your planned outing. We are being much more careful with gas lately, too. Previously DH would need to go get some little thing every day. Now we try to consolidate trips. Hope you are through with the painting soon. It will feel and smell so good! kellyr21, Happy Birthday. Your plans to get away for a couple of days sound nice. It might interest you to know that Cindy's daughter contacted me to let me know about Cindy's grandchildren, Bobby and Maggie. Maggie just graduated from High School and Bobby is in the Marching Band. They are all doing well. I still miss her so much. Kellie also said to say hello to the Peas who remembered Cindy. Linda, I'm sorry your DD missed out on the horse camp, but I'm glad she's not being exposed to something that would make her sick. Your little kittens have really grown. You must be a great "mom" because they seem to be thriving. Does your DD have Girl Scout camp this summer? I think Angie is planning to be the Archery leader at their camp again this year. If she's a leader, her boys can go too and they have a siblings program for them. What else does your DD plan to do this summer? Waving to gramma, justjac, msliz and knutschen and any other Pokeys we haven't seen for a while. I'm so glad you are all here!

how maddening about Silhouette nylene. Hopefully Em can help. That'll be nice for Angie and the boys - I remember my mum volunteered at a Girl Scout day camp when my sister was too young to attend as a Girl Scout but they also had a program for the littles and sons of the volunteers. DD isn't going to summer camp this year - I asked and she looked at the options but there really isn't much for her age other than counselor in training which she's not interested in. She'll go to Virginia with DH in July to see the older two and bring DD22 her truck now it's running again. And we're hoping to go to the springs here and a day trip to St Augustine to the beaches ...both weather dependent. It rained all summer last year and the springs are flooded at the moment from spring rains so...

The Shimelle class is inspiring me - did you see what Chinagirl828 and AussieMeg have made with the classes? Their examples alone will get my mojo running today. I have seen all the pages in that thread, they are so inspiring! And I was also very inspired pulling the kit together. It has made me completely rethink how I store my paper. I usually just keep the collections and embellishments together, and scrap from a collection, but now I want to break everything apart lol. grammadee we watch Stranger Things lol. I was pretty well over it after the last season but this season is the very last one I believe so I'll finish it lol. I also really want to get some of these LO's done while the class is live, even if it's one or two! Wow at how late teenagers sleep grammadee and Linda ! I had forgotten lol. I feel like I've wasted the day if I sleep in until 9:00 AM lol. And Linda! the kittens are so big! And so cute. I got mom's rent paid, brought her a few things and just visited with her. It was nice. She's trying to change her mind, but she's tired. She admits she just wants someone to take care of the cooking and cleaning and meds, so that doesn't sound like a recipe for living alone anymore. Came home to no A/C. And of course it's a three day weekend, and of course it's the hottest it's been yet this year. I would have loved to join in on a crop but I have so many fans going in here it sounds like an airplane is idling in here lol. This happened the same weekend the first year I lived here, hot no A/C and maintenance said it wasn't really an emergency so no help. I'm tempted to check with emergency maintenance again lol. Although I did leave a message with the office and I said I know it's only an emergency to me lol. kitbop and Linda I love line dried clothes! I miss having an outdoor clothesline. I have the same problems with "floods" or "high waters" as we always called them, but because I'm short. So if I buy petite length they shrink and end up with floods, and if I go average, they never shrink enough and are too long. nylene that's great that Alex wants to start his own scrapbook! I'm glad you'll have lots of time with him this summer, I know you sure missed each other during the height of Covid. Taking care of things for mom isn't going to be super fun, but my eyes are opened now to getting my things in order sooner rather than later for my own kids. Well, I should think about some dinner and maybe pull that kit and bring it to the dining room where it's likely to be coolest. With any luck it will be nice and cool in the morning at least.

Happy Sunday! Happy birthday to me! Thanks for all the well wishes. HUGS I had a wonderful day. We chilled this earlier afternoon then we went to this great Greek/Medviterranean restaurant in town. This was our first time eating in at this place and it was energetic and fun. Everything was very good. Afterwards, we went to some stores to just walk around. At home, Ron gave me some beautiful gifts and wrote me a touching letter/prayer. So 55, here I come! Lol! nylene - OH yes, Kellee! I remember her and so glad she keeps in touch. Wow, all these grands are growing up so fast. I miss Cindy, too. I know she would be thrilled to see my art journey evolve. She really encouraged me in my early days just like you. Waving hi to Kellee, too. joyfulnana - LOL! 60 now before I can get the discounts? Awesome man!: : My scrapbook mojo is gone, too. I go through these phases with scrapbooking and my mojo comes back. I do miss it! kitbop - Oh, sending you hummingbird vibes! LOL! I hope you see one and it hovers a while. I bought some hummingbird yard and door decorations to enjoy. Maybe this will encourage our birds to come back. : :

Good Monday morning Pokeys! It is a school day here and raining, so I need to drive the girls to school. Their mom flies in this evening. Their dad is flying directly from vacation to Saskatoon for work. That sounds like a lovely birthday, kellyr21 . I think you married a winner. You have to ASK for senior discounts, even when you are as old and decrepit looking as I am. At 75 I don’t mind asking, loud and clear LOL. (((((HUGS))))) to you and your mom, joyfulnana . I am sorry she is declining and needs more care, but kudos to her for recognizing that and letting you take over finances. We have a document with our wills that allots our personal and financial decision making to each other and then to specific “kids” if/when we are declared incompetent. With dh’s parents it was a struggle to get those documents signed after that need was more than met. Glad you have some summer plans, Linda . Too bad about summer camp for dd, but I am sure she is really looking forward to spending time with her sister. I hope Alex let’s you share his scrapbook, nylene . What sweet gramma/grandson time is in your future. I hope you create a crafting page or two about it! Our July looks pretty full with different kids and grandkids planning to visit. I have seen them all this month in their homes, but am excited to have them come to the farm! Okay. Gotta go get the school bus started…

You know we are all jealous that you got to meet grammadee in person! Thank you! Am going to try to check in every other day. I am not going to try to catch up on week's ago though. It sounds perfect for me; I love having a place to chat regularly about whatever, vs having to stay on topic. And I'm a slow scrapper who needs the support. I love scrapbooking... I'm just slow. Back to sorting paper. And watching hockey.... but the Rangers have the game very much i hand, so I'm not really paying attention at this point. It's 4-0 with 10ish minutes to go in the final period. Carolina ain't coming back. ETA: and now it's 5-1. Yeah, Carolina's done. I went cardmaking on Sunday. Been meaning to start a gallery here so I shall do so when I can. I don't actually remember what I did on Saturday. I did something. Friday I had friends over for the day. This week I am getting ready to go on a work trip Friday.

Good Morning and welcome cycworker! I'm a super slow scrapper too even though I love it lol. I'll bet you will be glad to be home @grandmadee but I'm sure the girls were thrilled for time just with you. Happy Birthday again kellyr21! I agree Ron is definitely a keeper! Wow it got hot in my apartment so there was a lot of hitting the stores to stay cool, and zoning out on the TV and naps. I think I need to start toning down my expectations for these kid free weekends lol. For every weekend maybe, because all the scrapping I'm going to do in my head never translates to finished pages lol. I hope they get here soon to fix the A/C, I do not tolerate the heat very well and it's already heating up in here again. It makes me cranky lol.

joyfulnana - yes - the kittens really aren't kittens any more but they'll probably still be called the kittens for a while. I'm sorry about the a/c - I hope it up and running again by now. (and I think no a/c when it's hot is an emergency) Hopefully your mum settles soon - it's got to be hard to give up independence. Happy Birthday kellyr21 - sounds like a lovely day! Greek food is one of my favourites - I lived on Cyprus for a couple of years as a child and learned to love the food. grammadee - so do you travel back today or tomorrow? I think it's smart to have stuff set up for future needs. Hoping to do some scrapping today. I was working on 1972 photos a good part of the last week - labelling, identifying, organising. I can see the light at the end of that tunnel though. And I've made a decision - I'm going to make a photo book rather than try and scrap them all -I'll scrap any that really speak to me but I don't want the pressure (self-imposed but...) of trying to scrap ALL of them. I know I'm really fortunate to have 350-ish photos from just one year of my childhood. I've only ever made a couple of photo books so of course, it'll be like re-inventing the wheel but hopefully it'll go smoother than anticipated. Bad thunderstorms last night and a rumoured tornado several miles away so no grilling last night but DH helped cook anyway. cycworker - yes, please do pop in regularly. This is a super friendly group. sorry about the hockey game

cycworker , never worry about catching up with the chat. Just hop on and tell us what's going on in your life. Will you tell us a little about yourself? We look forward to getting to know you. joyfulnana , I am so sorry about your AC. Yes, it is an emergency when the temps go way up. I totally understand your crankiness. I get that way when it is cold! Your making pages in your head sounds so familiar. I think all scrappers do that. Too bad, it doesn't get that many photo on papers. LOL Hope the AC gets fixed quickly so you can have some scrappy time. Hugs to you and your mom as you navigate this new part of life. kellyr21 , I'm glad you had a nice birthday. Your Ron is definitely a keeper! You are such a cute couple. I'm sure you are plenty warm by now, but we had snow this week. It didn't stick but it has been really cold. We are supposed to warm up by the end of the week. We had rain all day yesterday and Sunday and our grass now looks nice. We have been asked not to water yet this season, and it's hard for DH to have a brown lawn.(given that his profession is growing beautiful grass!) Take care of yourself. I'm glad that your painting is helping with healing. Linda , how wonderful to have so many photos of your childhood. That's a great legacy for your children. You have really been ambitious to get them all categorized and organized. I think a photo book sounds wonderful. I'm not sure I have the techo-ability to do that but I know you will figure it out. Let us know how it's going. I mentioned that Alex was afraid he wouldn't pass 3rd grade. Em said his progress report listed him as the academic top 3rd grader in the school. I think when they had a couple (or more) weeks of testing at the end of the year, the teacher must have really stressed how important the tests were and they should do their best work. Several days he came home upset because there were a few questions he didn't know at all. Em let him know that they test above his level to see how much he knows above 3rd grade work. It makes me sad that he is such a worry-wart. I spent yesterday helping DH with his pen work. We are tagging and labeling each with the types of wood and type of pen. He wants to try to sell a few from his shop so I am making some big posters he will set out in front of the house. I don't know how much business he will get, but it keeps him happily crafting. He has finished the first 20 of the 40 that were ordered for Christmas and both of his pen boxes are full, so he has some available for sale. I will close this thread later today. Just look for the new link and bookmark it. Have a great day!

In under the wire with my four pages for May. Have 5 more nearly ready but unable to locate my National Register of Historic Places icon for those five that need them. I am home with Covid, day 6 and finally feeling better. So mad, I have been so good throughout this pandemic and one of the owners (who does not even have to be at work he does not make any business decisions or have an business task, simply the brother and co-owner, and comes in only because (we don't really know).... came in sick and Boom drop the Mic the rest of us all came down with Covid, now my hubby got it, my boss' (the one that actually does have business tasks) has it....Sorry, I don't mean to be mean, but I do not like to be sick with anything let alone Covid. Also, my points update will be delayed as my spreadsheet is at work on my work computer. On to happier things here are four courthouse pages, photos taken by a social network friend who sends me photos quite frequently. Remember my photos are temps printed on copy paper as I order my prints after I make the pages

Oh, MARIBETHR, I am so sorry about the Covid. I have been so careful too, and I worry about someone coming in contact with me out and about. We are well vaxed but that doesn't help much. Hang in there. I hope the bug will soon be gone from both you and your DH (and those at work.) Thanks for posting your pages. I will come back later to comment. Sending well wishes, sweet friend!
