Where will YOUR next adventure take place, MARIBETHRSame place, our state is on fire so we are 1) staying fairly close to home, 2) going where this are no trees. We are hoping fall will work out better than spring has for us.

Hi my Pokey Pea pals! I hope you each had a good weekend. We went to dinner on Sat. and had enough leftovers for Sunday so I didn't have to cook. DS and DIL came by on Sat and visited for a long time. The other kids facetimed with us Sun since they had all their kids and grands home. It was fun to see them. I got online with gramma on Sat. evening. We went down a rabbit hole and both bought some Paige Evans files and downloaded the free ones. I have used a couple of her background files that I bought through Design Studio in the past. I am anxious to use some of the new ones. No one else joined us online so we got a little silly before the time was up. It was really fun, like having her right in my room with me! We actually bought some of the Boy files but just individual ones, grammadee . gramma needs to tell you about her DH's accident. Anj called telling me about all the work she has done the last 2 weeks for Teacher Appreciation at school. She has also caught a bad cold and was sounding a bit under the weather. She mentioned she still needs to make 18 graduation cards for her Girl Scouts. So of course I volunteered to make them and send them to her by a week from today. It has taken us 2 days to decide for sure on the design, but it's "in stone" now so I can get the cut files ready and begin working on them. I'll post them when I finish. kellyr21 , I've been thinking of you all weekend. It's hard to celebrate holidays soon after losing a family member. Hugs to you. justjac , did you get to visit with your DMIL or your DM over the weekend? I was thinking I read that you were going to see one of them. MARIBETHR , how was your RVing weekend? Did you travel outside the state? kitbop , how did your performance go? gramma and I were wishing we could see a video of you tapping. Can't wait to see any photos that were taken. You are so brave. Linda , you have done some beautiful layouts lately. Don't be surprised to see your designs popping up on my pages! I'm behind on comments, but hope to catch up between making Grad cards this week. grammadee , your freezer defrosting doesn't sound fun, but just think how nice it will be to get all that good meat into the freezer! Are the surveyors coming back this week or did they get finished? I'm off to start cutting paper. Have a wonderful week, everyone, as you prepare to scrap, scrap, scrap this weekend with the Peas. ETA: Just noticed that you answered my questions while I was posting, MARIBETHR!

sounds like a lovely weekend nylene - and that's kind of you to make the cards for her Girl Scouts! They'll love them I'm sure. Thank you for the compliments on my layouts - I joined the SG online crop and have been working on the sketches and challenges from that. DH seems to have had a good time driving to Dallas - he stopped in Baton Rouge the first night and visited the USS Kidd museum before heading out on Sunday and today he went to the Frontier of Flight museum in Dallas. His conference starts in the morning. And of course, he managed to find the Lego store...

Hello! Man it's been a busy month so far, and from the looks of things I'm not the only busy person! justjac, I'm so sorry to hear the news about your MIL. 6 pages and 11 cards is a lot done in my book! gramma what beautiful photos and what a beautiful family! Congratulations again! grammadee 30 pages?! Wow! I barely get that many done a year! Sounds like you have lots going on, with the survey, and medical appointments and gardening, have fun on your lunch date! I'll be glad when Rudy is old enough to pay for our lunch dates lol. Linda I saw you got 21 pages done over the weekend. You and grammadee are machines! Sounds like your senior cats are keeping you busy as well. I would totally want a carpet cleaner on each floor, that is a good plan of attack. All the car expenses are no fun, I hope that is over for you soon. Enjoy your scrappy week!! nylene I'm not a camper either. I need a hotel room lol. Even an RV is too much roughing it for me lol. MARIBETHR I'm glad you enjoy it, and if I HAD to camp, and RV would be the only way I would. I'm too old for tent camping lol. kitbop I hope your time at BIL/SIL was pleasant We've done our annual trip 4 times - the pandemic robbed us of two - but I think this may be the last one. We didn't do a lot of scrapping, more visiting, eating and shopping than anything. And it's so much work to pack for a crop, when we can jump online and no one has to pack. We get more done that way too lol. I don't think I had realized just what a chore it is to pack and load/unload the car, etc. Doing two big crops within 6 months and I was feeling the pain lol. It was rainy and chilly most of the weekend and now that I'm home it's in the 90's and will be all week. Yuck. Rudy had the idea for him and his dad to sleep at my place Saturday night and keep Abby company. Cody said Abby had eaten too fast and it came right back up (she really doesn't do that unless she has let herself get too hungry) so they wanted to stay with her. I appreciated it and I'm sure Abby did too lol. We facetimed Sunday morning so I could hear all about the sleepover lol. I haven't unpacked a thing yet, so that will be tonight and regular Monday night TV with Cody. We are deep into The Beatles rabbit hole now. We watched the movie HELP! last week and tonight we will watch the bonus material. And working on my prompts for the PEA Celebration this weekend. I'm really hoping my mojo comes to play along. At least I won't be packing for that crop lol. kellyr21 waving Hi, and I hope you are doing well!

joyfulnana - I think once DD21's truck comes out of the shop, that'll hopefully be the end of car expenses for a while. DH and DD15 are planning to drive it up to Williamsburg some time over the summer for DD21. I'll have to stay home with the cats but will plan a fall trip for me..maybe even by train. Glad that Abby was ok - I bet she enjoyed the company - Rudy knew what she needed. Sorry you didn't get much done on your crop - sometimes the people time is more important. I bet the packing and unpacking is a lot though.

MARIBETHR , how was your RVing weekend? Did you travel outside the state? No, only about 2 hours away from the house. We are trying to maximize the time I have enjoying the peace a quite. Once I retire, if hubby can still drive the RV we may venture on longer trips.

Happy Thursday! Hope all is well with the Pokeys.
Guess today is about personal maintenance. Off to be pampered this morning at the hairdressers'. Then need to run some errands in town. And then stop at the doctor's office for a shot of B12.

good luck with your self-care today grammadeeI have some housework to do, I need to finish up iNPD planning, and hopefully get started on Dec 2020 layouts. DD15 is home from school today so once she wakes up, I'll put her to work in the yard I think. (she's not sick, just sleep deprived)

Good Morning and Happy PEA day! I guess that's what I get for skimming the thread and trying to catch up, kitbop you had a tap performance? How is that going? I have no rhythm or coordination so that would be a big flop for me lol. Yay on the all clear grammadee ! Linda LOL at putting DD15 to work in the yard. I work today and intend to get all the chores done tonight after work so I can scrap the rest of the weekend. It's not a Rudy weekend so I'm hopeful. I'm still planning my Sunday prompts too. I keep changing my mind about them lol. nylene you sound like me, always volunteering to help my kids out, even if it means putting my plans on the backburner, or more work than I thought lol. I can't wait to see the cards. I hope to see you and gramma Saturday night! I've been in such a terrible slump. It would be a good idea to check out the gallery and sharing thread to get me inspired. Hosting a crop will help too. *I hope* MARIBETHR I think of you every time I hear about the fires in NM. I hope they stay far from you. I had a surprise knock on my door yesterday in the middle of the afternoon. It was Rudy bringing me an art project he made at school. He melts me and it made it my day.

Aside from last Saturday the only time I've spent in my scrap room has been to walk in and lay something on a flat surface. An entire Amazon order that has to be returned, scrapbook pages that we used at our anniversary party, overflow from organizing our office. What a mess!! Last Friday afternoon Ken fell in the garage and smacked his head. A trip to the ER and 7 staples. I need to play with glue and paper! Off to straighten up my room so I can get in there. Is there a crop this evening?

joyfulnana , what a sweetheart your little Rudy is! My husband has always said that grandchildren are the reward for not killing your teenagers! LOL. You got a very special little guy there. It melts my heart to read about it. I should have spend yesterday afternoon getting ready for the PEA DAY but I made the mistake of looking up a friend on the 1950 census. They are now allowing you to type in the state and city and you can index everyone on the sheet. I used to deliver papers in my hometown so I know all the streets and many of the "old timers" who lived there in the 50's. I really went down a rabbit hole and indexed for hours. So many old memories of people long gone. I indexed the doctor who delivered me, many of mom and dad's friends, my first boss when I started working at a dairy. I found lots of relatives and friends of Steve's family. It was a wonderful afternoon...but it didn't do anything for getting ready for a scrappy weekend! So, I am trying to clean things up in order to scrap. I did pick up some new photos and that often inspires me. Nice to see you, gramma . How is Ken's head? I'm sorry about your Amazon order. Em orders for us and always volunteers to send things back for us. We are very spoiled. grammadee , thanks for all you have done to set up some fun for us. You are amazing! Waving to each of our Pokeys! Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh gramma! I hope Ken is doing alright. No crop tonight, but I'm hosting one tomorrow! I have some of my chores done, might leave the rest since it's getting late. But my table needs to be cleared so I can scrap tomorrow. I finally unpacked my crop bag lol. nylene I love that about grandkids LOL! You see T-shirts and things about having grandkids first, which I never understood until I had one. They are so much more fun than the ones you raise lol.

Just a quick check-in while I have a few minutes of quiet. I am pretty tired this morning. Had a Covid booster on Friday. Dd & family are here helping with garden and other spring work, so busy times. Also sad. One of our old cats disappeared sometime after Tuesday. They live in the garage, and he doesn't always show himself so I wasn't really worried until Thursday, but he is gone.
And yesterday Charlie took off into the bush when dsil was getting the deck ready for us to eat out there, and when she ran, one of dd's dogs decided to chase her. We took alot of time walking the edge of the trees calling, and I spotted her once, but she refused to come out. Then about 10:00PM, she turned up on the deck for her supper and some attention. So I spent a few hours being scared we had lost her too, so I am thinking that was an energy drain, too.
Anyway, just dropped in to say hi. Going to check out the PEA Day thread and then I have to get some brunch started...

My mom had surgery earlier in the week to have uterine polyps removed. She has been doing okay with her recovery but got a phone call that the polyps were cancerous. She had a CT Friday and she is hoping to hear something from the doctor tomorrow. She feels she has caught this early enough as she called as soon as she had any bleeding. I am anxious to hear the results. She will be seeing an Oncology OB/GYN and having a hysterectomy. All her doctors are with the other hospital in town. I am unfamiliar with the doctor she is being sent to. I work with all the Oncology OB/GYN docs at the hospital I am at. I had a mammogram earlier this month and I have been called back for further images. I have fibrocystic breast and I feel this happens to me. It is a new spot so they want to investigate it further. I just hope all is good. grammadee, Glad that yours was clear. I got my bicycle tuned up and I can tell it rides smoother. It has been raining today. I went on a short bike ride last night. I am pondering about meeting with some of the people from the bike club to watch the sunset and then ride to have coffee. I just have to be logged in to my computer for a Zoom meeting at 8 AM. I take Phoebe to the vet tomorrow afternoon. She is 14 years and 2 months old now and she was having quite the time with one of her legs. I am sure it is arthritis. She seems to be doing better since I called but was asking for a supplement to help her. She keeps following me around the house like she normally does. I hope everything goes alright with her appointment. I need to get ready. I need to get Zoe more food and hoping to relax at the coffee shop for a bit.

(((((HUGS))))) to you and your mom, knutschen. Hoping that all goes well with her next surgery, that they "get it all", and that her recovery is smooth. She is very lucky to have you in her corner. Having someone who knows what to ask and what the answers mean is priceless. And hoping your own ultra sound does not turn up anything worrying.

A bike ride to watch the sunset sounds heavenly. grammadee I'm sorry you were feeling under the weather, and glad you found Charlie! We missed you in the crop thread. Linda are you stir crazy from that week at home? I would be just a bit lol. It was so good to see some of you guys Saturday night. I miss our crops and I missed seeing your faces. My mojo is coming back thanks to the weekend. Now on to the work week.

Sending hugs knutschen to you and your mom. grammadee I'm sorry to hear about your cat. gramma I hope you find some time to craft and that Ken heals quickly. joyfulnana I was sad to miss the crop, but Saturday was a busy day for me. I met with my sister on Zoom in the morning to work on our knitting class. Then from 1-10pm I had a bridal shower/bachlorette party. 1-4 was the shower. 5-6 was supposed to be mini golfing but we decided it wasn't nice enough outside (scattered showers and wind). 6-7:30 supper and 8-10 bowling! Some of the ladies were going to go out dancing after bowling, but I was exhausted. Dean ended up having Saturday and Sunday off, but he didn't find this out until after he had showed up for work at 6AM Saturday. He had been working for three weeks straight. Sunday we went to see his mom (I didn't go to see her Mother's Day after all.) She mostly slept, but when she was awake it was obvious that she has declined a lot since we saw her in March. (Due to COVID restrictions and Dean's work we haven't been able to visit.) This month is Layout a Day and I had been keeping up mostly using Daily Pages and yesterday I decided I just don't want to make it a priority this month.

knutschen, I am so sorry for the report on your mother. I hope that the next surgery takes care of all the cancer. I am also sorry to hear that you are needing further testing. I hope they find that all is well. You and your mother are both in my prayers. She's lucky to have you near and so informed in what she is facing. I'm glad you got your bike tuned up and ready to ride. A bike group sounds like it could be a lot of fun. My grandson does a lot of road biking with friends and really enjoys it. I hope little Phoebe perks up and can be free of pain. I can empathize with her on arthritis! So nice to see you checking in. Pop back again when you get time. grammadee, have you overcome the fatigue from the Covid booster? I hope you are back to your normal energizer bunny routine. Thanks for a fun weekend of scrapping. I am so sorry about your missing kitty. I'm glad you found Charlie. When do you leave for your next adventure? joyfulnana, thank you for your prompts this weekend. I will be slow getting mine done, but that's normal for me. I appreciate your hosting the Online Crop on Sat. It was fun to see so many join in. I'm glad things are going well for you and your boys. justjac, when do you have time to scrap and read? You are one busy bee. I'm sorry to hear that your MIL is going downhill. You are all in my prayers and have been for the whole time. You are such a caring DIL, I'm sure your MIL is so glad her son found you! I don't know how you keep up with LOAD. I'm glad to see lots of daily pages in your gallery. I need to go back and see how many points I earned through the Pea Day. I did very little but did get a lot done to help DH with a book he is making with all his pen instructions, varieties, etc. We took photos of some and he's adding those to the pages. It's kind of an instructional scrapbook, I guess. I just taped up the box of 24 Graduation cards I made for Angie and didn't take a photo. I do that so often with birthday cards. Grrr. joyfulnana can verify that I did finish them all. I think they turned out nice and I hope Anj and her Girl Scouts like them. Off to medical appts for DH today. I'll check in later and try to catch up on comments.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! Hoping you are all having the start to a wonderful week. justjac , I know you love the energy of the LOAD's, but I am glad you gave yourself permission to let it go this month when you are feeling stressed and burnt out. And it sounds like you had an incredibly busy and draining weekend. (((((HUGS))))) again about Irene. joyfulnana and Linda I hope you have recovered from your busy couple of days hosting the 2PEAS celebration crop. I knew if anyone would earn the bonus it would be you, Linda. Leslie, it was wonderful to see your pages pop up, and such intricate wonderful pages! No wonder they take time to put together. I hope now the dam is broken that your mojo will flow right on through and keep you scrapping. Glad you had some scrappy time this weekend, too, nylene . Don't forget when adding up your crop points to claim the time you spent on that "instructional scrapbook". Your census project sounds really interesting, but I know I don't have the patience or organizational skills to do it myself. And glad you got to hang out with the Pokeys and others on the crop on Saturday. Did you join in as well, kitbop and gramma ? I love my family, but I MISS you ladies! I am feeling a bit more energy today, but then the house is quiet and I went to bed at 9:00 last night and slept til 7:00 this morning. It helped me relax that Charlie graced us with her presence again at feeding time last night. Dh had seen her in the morning, but she didn't finish her breakfast and then she vacated the deck for the rest of the day. Of course, the five of us had been out there quite a bit as the weather was great. She does not like sharing "her" deck with humans! On Saturday she was frightened away by the vacuum and the dog, but I suspect she has found a hidey hole she likes out in the trees, so now she feels safe there and is just heading out there to explore. And I am sure there are tons of mice and birds to entertain and sustain her out there. I have to keep reminding myself that until winter set in she was basically self sufficient. And a survivor. Finished a card I had started Friday morning. Will post in a few minutes. Doing laundry, and packing up scrappy supplies for my trip to Nanaimo. Will have at least three days when the girls are in school, so ya know I couldn't be bored . I plan to drive to Airdrie Tuesday morning & hopefully will get to watch some minor league baseball action in the evening. Flight leaves Calgary on Thursday morning.

joyfulnana - no, not really stir-crazy, I'm pretty much a homebody anyway. I doubt I'll end up going anywhere until our Wednesday grocery run. Sorry I missed your crop on Saturday - while I was scrapping, I was also touching up the house for DH's return and he kept giving me updates...so not the dedicated time I need for online cropping. Glad that your mojo is coming back. Wow - super busy weekend justjac. I'm so sorry to hear that your MIL is declining so fast. Probably wise to give yourself permission to not prioritise Layout a Day - sometimes you just need a break nylene - well done getting the graduation cards made. I would think sharing them on the online crop would count for sharing points (right grammadee). Good luck with the appts today. grammadee - thanks for organising the pea weekend - I'm sorry you weren't able to participate more. I'm glad that you got to see Charlie again last night. Good luck with the packing - looking forward to seeng your creations from your trip. I need to count points today...I haven't counted up since right before iNSD and it's going to be a big task. Off to a slow start because I couldn't sleep last night so napped this morning after the school bus. Still feeling draggy though. Did anyone else see the eclipse/blood moon last night? We had bad storms and downtown flooding in the early evening so weren't expecting to but the skies cleared by midnight and we went outside for a little bit - even got DD15 out of bed (she loves stuff like that). It was really pretty.

Hi Pokeys knutschen - I'm so sorry about your mom's news and really hope she is right in feeling they've got it early. If nothing has spread and they get that hyst done...fingers crossed. Give us updates! I was *so* glad to have my Dad at my hospital even tho it was super awkward when he was on my floor. I knew who to ask and what was really going on. You and I both know there are varying degrees of surgeon competence out there...and it's better to know who you are dealing with justjac - I would have been social jello after just the first leg of your bridal shower! I'm an introvert, and social gatherings are exhausting for me. Clubbing/dancing? Ugh! I was glad to leave that scene behind me when I got married I'm glad you guys got to see your MIL, but it must be a shock with a 2 month gap there. I'm glad you've let LOAD go... it won't be a source of enjoyment if you are stressed about it. grammadee - I'm sorry a kitty has permanently left home. We've lost a couple this way and it feels unfinished. But glad the grand-dog showed up! And charlie! Thank you for organizing and hosting this weekend. I got 3 layouts done, and that's 3 more than normal when I work!!! nylene - I saw the cards, and I'm really sorry you didn't get a picture because you should be so proud of them! gramma - how is Ken? Did you have a good anniversary party? Did you get any scrappy therapy?

justjac, your weekend sounds exhausting to this introvert! I'm so sorry about Dean's mom. And that sucks that he found out he had the day off after getting to work. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself in regards to LOAD and what you can accomplish. Linda I'm a big homebody too. But every three or four days I feel the need to get out, even if it's just to the grocery store lol. I forgot about the blood moon, and was in bed but Cody got a couple of decent pictures of it. It was so pretty! grammadee, I hope things slow down for you, you are always going, going, going. nylene did get her Girl Scout cards done and they were so cool looking! Made me think of Girl Scout cookies with the logo she used lol. I hope Ken is feeling better gramma. I don't think I realized how much I had been missing you guys until the crop Saturday night. I'm going to look at the calendar and see when I can host a Sunday. I miss seeing grammadee and justjac too

joyfulnana - we did end up going tonight - first to p/u DD15 from her afterschool Academic team practise and to Big Lots and then again to pick up dinner from Firehouse Subs. gramma - add me to those hoping Ken is feeling better I got my points added up - I hadn't counted any for May yet and between iNSD and the 2Peas crop and the week in between...that was quite the project and now I remember why I usually count as I go.
