Updated to list the prompts: DAY ONE PROMPTS:
P= PLAY! Pull out one new-to-you thing--could be a tool, a stamp, a technique, a paper or set of embellishments--you have been wanting to play with and use it on a project. ONE point for using at least one new plaything while creating your page or card or gift.
E= EXTRA BIG. Super size at least one element on your page or card. Give that one element--the photo or focal image, the title or greeting--HALF the available real estate. ONE point.
A= Answers. I will post the poll on celebrating the PEAS which will stay at the top of our crop thread for the weekend. ONE point for doing the poll. ONE point for explaining at least one of your answers.
S= Sketches. I have saved some from The Scrap Room Blog, from Creative Scrapbooker magazine, and from Printable Cuttable Creatables. I particularly looked for sketches with layering in them, cuz that seems to be what inspires me most. FIVE points for using one of these sketches in a project. (To meet this prompt for the bonus, you will need to use at least ONE of these sketches)
Sketch 1-B from The ScrapRoom Blog:
Sketch 1_C from Creative Scrapbooker:
DAY TWO PROMPTS:
P = Project - use green as your primary colour in your project for twoPEAS E = Embellishments - use TWO...the number 2, 2 of the same, 2 different types, two clusters, or some other interpretation of TWO A = Answers - what are your scrapbooking or crafty favourites? Can be a supply, a colour, a brand, a technique, a snack to keep your motivated... S = SketchI reached way back in time to 2012 and the Basic Grey blog for a Susan Stringfellow sketch. One thing I love about sketches is they are timeless - new techniques, new colours, new products...it's easy to update an old sketch and make it new. You can do the full two page or use either side for a one-page - adapt as fits your style and photos
DAY THREE PROMPTS:
P is for precious. Use that paper, embellishment, yarn, anything you have been saving for that "perfect" project, it's time to break it out. Dig into your preciousness and create. E is for Extra special - Scrap a photo that is extra special, or tell a story you have been putting off telling A - answers - I struggle deciding how to spend my time. If you are taking a class, or learning a new technique, how do you split that time with time to actually scrap? If I'm watching a video, I think "I could be scrapping". S is for sketches. I have a single page, double page and card sketch for you today. This sketch is one I found on the Paper Issues website This double page is from January 2022 Pagemaps And the card sketch is from April 2022 Pagemaps Team players you can earn an additional 10 points (20 if doubled) for combining these challenges.
Note about points: if you are not a member of a challenge team, ignore info on points. If you ARE a member of a team, earn DOUBLE points for meeting prompts and/or any other challenges you meet May 13th-15th. BONUSES: If you meet ALL the prompts for one day, you earn a bonus of 25 points. Meet all the prompts from any TWO days for an additional bonus of 100 points. Get 'em ALL and take an additional bonus of 200 points. Tagging kitbop and angel97701 to pass on this info to the teams.
Heads UP! Here on this board--in fact here on this THREAD--we will be celebrating this upcoming weekend all that it is to be a PEA!
That's right. iNSD was too close to Mothers' Day. So we decided that we will celebrate NEXT weekend instead. Friday May 13th to Sunday May 15th there will be prompts and inspiration and chatter. So get ready! Stock up on glue and snacks. Print your photos &/or collect your card making tools. Do some stretches. Clear off your scrap space.
If you are a member of one of our challenge teams, DOUBLE POINTS starts Friday morning and runs all weekend. And if you want to play along with the daily crop prompts, there are more points to be grabbed up there. But no need to be on a team to play along. The more the merrier! Let's craft and chat, commiserate and cheer on, and let's do it all TOGETHER! Right here. In this thread.
Chat can begin any time. Details will appear as new posts in this thread. All new prompts and will be copied and pasted into this post so that they are easy to find.

My spot!
I actually have only one lacrosse game this weekend, and may be finding my mojo. I actually did a layout this week, almost finished! It will be for a DT blog post so I can't share here.

Two more sleeps...
If you had a weekend to play with paper or yarn or any other material you can craft with, what you you do with it? Any projects on the go? Ones you want to start? Photos or new toys that excite you and you are itching to get started?

I'm hoping to get 2020 finished up this week/weekend so I see Christmas papers in my future...

Christmas in MAY, @homescchoolmum! That will be fun to see. I will have some Easter pages to share. wallyagain , when you do PL pages, what size do you do? And how much time included on each page or two page spread? There have been some beautiful PL pages shared here this year. Thinking of paget 's and MDscrapaholic's and teacherlisa 's and jeremysgirl 's and AussieMeg 's and others. All are different, but all really interesting to look at. I don't have the discipline to document on any regular schedule, and when I try using those pocket pages, my photos always seem to have different ideas. I had hoped to set up a virtual crop for Friday morning and play with my Spellbinders Glimmer System. But I won't know until last minute if I will be needed out in the yard.

grammadee I could never keep up with a weekly project life. I do mine monthly and some months will have two pages and some months five pages. Just depends on how many photos I take and how many stories I have to tell. I do 12x12. And I have a 6x8 story album too where I share smaller stories that don't fit in the project life album.

Wish I could play with you all this weekend but dh and I leave for Vegas early tomorrow morning. Have a wonderful time! Thanks for thinking of my PL pages grammadee - yes, I do weekly 12x6 most weeks it’s not enough space but I challenge myself to make it work - sometimes by adding flip pockets or 3x8 inserts. I went a little crazy on NSD with purchasing and my citrus twist package came yesterday (still waiting on other stores) and I am eager to play with it all!! Will have to wait until I’m back from vacation, though.

grammadee I do 12 X 12 on cardstock. I stick my photos and cards similar to how they would be in pockets. I have more flexibility and can use both horizontal and vertical on a page. I have so much cardstock and protectors, it didn’t make sense to buy pockets. I am really enjoying the process. If there is a special story, I do a layout and put it in with the PL pages.

I'll be hosting a crop Saturday evening if anyone wants to join in!
And I have no idea what I'll be working on this weekend. I have several pages in progress and haven't even started Shimelle's class I signed up for. Finishing up those pages will be on the "to work on" list for sure.

ETA = Day 1 Poll + Answer = 2 points. I picked OTHER because the Peas mean all the things to me. I can't pick just one. No way! As a matter of fact, just this afternoon I was thinking to myself "isn't it nice I have somewhere to be entertained, even if it is just reading what other people wrote?" I am not really into the popular social media because I hate ads getting in my way. Too much clutter for my brain. And grammadee , I am not on any team, but I am going to collect points anyway, just for fun. I'm going have to figure out how to post my stuff, though.

Well, I picked 3 of the answers in the poll, but I really would have liked an option to select "all of the above" because the peas mean all of those things to me.

it's past midnight here so I've squeezed in one crop layout before bed. Doesn't meet any prompts but...I used EP PP (Wild Life) and sticker (Celebrate Spring) and circle punches. I'm working on December 2020 layouts - hoping to finish them up this weekend.

I selected other because I like hearing about news and updates that I’d never hear about otherwise.
I also like seeing what others create and sometimes I’m inspired (when I’m not super deep in a creative rut like I have been lately).
I hope to participate a little bit this weekend because I have spring break pictures to scrap. I got a 9x12 album to try for the first time and I’d like to get moving on it, but again, I’m in this rut that is hard to escape.

Good morning peas and happy crop weekend! I am unsure what scrappy fun my weekend holds in store. I am off work today, but I work this weekend and that always affects my mojo. The weather is *gorgeous* and I have adulting to do... if my scrapspace weren't in my dungeon - er - windowless basement - I'd been much more inclined to scrap all day. Solution: load up a laundry basket with supplies, bring it to the sunny kitchen. Sounds like a plan? Peas: community first. New product/event alerts. And generally "mojo" generation - like grammadee 's prompts for the weekend which immediately make me want to create something (until I think of the basement.)

Question for you all: how do you balance chores/adult life with your scrapbooking? - Do you sometimes ignore chores to focus on crafting? - Or do you adhere to "work before pleasure"? - Or do you craft first but leave enough time to get the jobs done later?
I am sitting at my computer procrastinating doing chores. But I have this feeling that I need to get them done before I join the crop. So I'm wasting time. How dumb is that???

This is me everyday, and I have the same questions about the adulting. If I do all the things I "should" do first, those never end so there would be no crafting. ComplicatedLady I feel you about that deep rut. I've been in one too. I'm hoping to shake out of it this weekend. Love these sketches! I'm not sure what I'm working on yet, but I want to do one of these sketches for sure.

Question for you all: how do you balance chores/adult life with your scrapbooking? - Do you sometimes ignore chores to focus on crafting? - Or do you adhere to "work before pleasure"? - Or do you craft first but leave enough time to get the jobs done later? I work full time, so the last thing I want to do on the weekend is more work in the form of housework. I completely ignore chores so I can focus on scrapbooking. If DSO starts doing some housework then I feel guilty and I will help him. If he's not home I will spend all day on my laptop, Peaing and scrapping. Then 20 minutes before he's due to get home I will run around like a madwoman tidying up, so it doesn't look like I've spent all day Peaing and scrapping!

And grammadee, I am not on any team, but I am going to collect points anyway, just for fun. I'm going have to figure out how to post my stuff, though. Now THAT's the spirit! Shoot me a PM and we can talk through what the easiest way would be for you to post your creations here. Would love to see them it's past midnight here so I've squeezed in one crop layout before bed. And she's OFF! Great way to get us started. I love the sound of frog song in the spring--the comforting background music of my childhood. Solution: load up a laundry basket with supplies, bring it to the sunny kitchen. Sounds like a plan? Sounds like a PERFECT plan! Come on. You know you want to PLAY! AussieMeg I will look at that gorgeous page more closely in the Gallery, but I need to say I LOVE your take on the sketch. I am going to share mine in a bit, and you will see it is much more messy. Sometimes I don't pay much attention to a sketch until I see what YOU have done with it, and then my crafty gears start turning less chaotically.
