At the end of the clip I watched, Prince Louis walked over to his grandpa and Prince Charles picked him up and sat him in his lap, just like any other grandpa in the world. I thought it was a sweet moment. I think he was just a tired, overwhelmed little boy.
While I agree with you, I can name 3 peas right off the top of my head who would have called Archie a spoiled brat just like his father, said Meghan & Harry were raising him to be an entitled brat who just wants attention or Archie thinks the rules don't apply to him.
I absolutely agree this is typical 4 year old behavior for a kid at a boring event. I just think the hypocrisy and Meghan & Harry bashing is over the top and not always justified.
You’re absolutely right. The frothing on here about M&H is on here like clockwork. You know if it was their kid, they’d be the ones criticizing.
Totally normal four-year-old behavior. This is hilarious, though. The last one with mom-as-reporter is the best. 😁
I bet all the Royal Family are relieved that it’s over and was successful! I don’t know about all them medals being on the men, Kate deserves one for herself!

She must be exhausted and I don't know how she manages it all. Flying visit to Wales and on Friday or Saturday evening ( not sure which) she made a private unannounced visit to Evelina Childrens Hospital which is attached to Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital in London ( she's their patron).

William and Kate also attended a garden party in Kensington, on Sunday I think, before the pageant. 👏🏻

Yes, just seen that while I was looking at something else.
I didn't watch any of this live, but I've watched clips here and there. BY FAR, my favorite part of the whole thing was cheeky Louis and his mom. Just keepin' it real...ya know?!?
Can you even imagine how bored he must have been?
Congrats to The Queen for her 70 years of service, this must have meant a lot to many British nationals! <3

LOVE THIS. Sure does help make this family feel a bit more "normal" for lack of a better word. For a small child to just plop themselves into an adult's lap (to me) shows how easy and close that relationship is.

I wasn’t sure if I should ask this here or on the Lilibet thread. Does anyone know if Harry’s kids got to meet/play with their cousins?
I seriously doubt it just from a time stand point. Maybe for a group photo all of the great grands? With the tension between Harry & William, I doubt they the Cambridges were invited to any party. I was surprised though, that that Archie & Lilli weren't at the window with the other non-working Royal family members. Maybe they were, though, and we just didn't see them?

I would guess they were there with H and M but everyone was careful they weren’t spotted.

Mike Tindall was on a podcast. He said that after the Trooping of the Colour all the cousins went to a secret lunch together, apart from William and Kate who had lunch with the Queen, and Harry and Megan who went back to Frogmore on their own. Doesn’t seem like they wanted to social with H&M, probably in case they gave gossip to Netflix!
It is being said that William’s children didn’t get to meet Archie and Lilibet (reliable source), but that Zara’s children did go to the party but not Zara and Mike as they were at the Epsom Races all day and at the concert in the evening. William and Kate didn’t socialise at all with Harry and Megan.
The Queen met Lilbet but banned Harry’s photographer from taking any photos of her with any of them. They had taken their own photographer to try and get pictures of everyone! It is thought that Harry left sooner than planned, he was already on his plane when the pageant started. Apparently he was very angry at being booed and also at being in the second row and on the left at St Paul’s. He was always in the past on the right side with the senior royals.
Body language experts think that William and Harry might have had an argument just before they attended the Cathedral.

I highly doubt any Royal kids went to that party (if there even was one, we didn't see any cake or decorations) First it's smack bang in the middle of Jubliee celebrations and all the Royals were popping up all over the UK, they all had engagements that had been planned well in advance and would have had their schedules and childcare well planned. None of them are travelling back to Frogmore Cottage to attend an impromptu party for a 1yo they have never met. This party was never in the plan and it was obviously an attempt by H&M to try to get attention/Netflix footage (they had brought their own photographer) or to control the narrative. So none of those cousins are sending their kids with a just nanny and no parents to supervise what is going on. Whether H&M actually thought people would re-arrange their Jubilee schedules or if they knew they wouldn't be able to, so they could play the "evil Royal family" card again is debatable. Given that there are already stories out there about H&M sending out the "olive branch" to W&C to attend the party but were rejected...they seem to have gone with option B. As if W&C were ever going to be be able to change their schedules at such short notice.
I also read that there was a shuttle bus for the St Paul's service that H&M were meant to be on...but they were 15mins "late" so they missed it, that's why they ended up in a private car and got to walk in alone instead of with the rest of the people in their row. Which is also why there was the to-do about them being seated and everyone having to stand up to let them past. I thought it seemed to be unusually bad planning that the people in the middle of the row where scheduled to arrive later than the people sitting in the aisle seats (it's not like the Royals are new at this!) so that story has a ring of truth to it.
Mike Tindall also said on his podcast that they had been giving the children candy at the concert & so his kids & Louis were all on a sugar highs...lol
"The finale to this unique occasion was when Prince William asked my brother-in-law If he wanted to buy the Big Issue, to which he replied 'I have no change'. "At this point William produced a mobile card machine… you cannot teach that!

I thought it was rather odd when they all came out of St Paul's. The other cousins/second cousins - Zara, Peter Phillips, David Linley, Fredrick Windsor ( ?) the one who is married to Sophie Winkerman, were all standing at the top of the steps chatting to each other. Meghan & Harry came straight out, Meghan smiled and nodded to Peter Phillips but they ignored the others and carried on down the steps into their car.

When I was watching, I saw H&M having a long conversation with Zara while everybody periodically looked down the street, probably wondering what the holdup was with the transportation. I was kind of wondering what the holdup was with the transportation as well. These things usually run much smoother.

It wasn't a long conversation - it was 36 seconds: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZX_255lS8k Zara & Peter had a job to do - they were waiting for H&M and stopped them just as they came out (maybe to ensure the senior royals were all gone?) and then chatted and stood in front of them. There was some strategy there to stop them leaving until a certain point, otherwise the others would have gone down the stairs already. Mike found the man next to him suddenly very interesting.

He was talking to Princess Margaret's son David Linley now the Earl of Snowdon.

Ah the broadcast I was watching wasn't as clear from the angle of the camera as it is in that you tube video in the post below or I must have looked away at that point. It was taken from the other side and Fredrick Windsor was in the frame I saw.
I was a bit shocked when I saw all the things he did, he seems like he's a real handful compared to how generally well behaved the other two are. And I think it's very likely Kate was a bit frazzled and embarrassed by how he behaved.
I was surprised by the specific misbehaviors more than the fact that he misbehaved. I would expect any 4 year old to melt down to some degree before all of that was over. But I was simply surprised that he was even in the habit of doing a few of things I saw him do, simply because the kids I've spent time with and my own kids didn't do some of those same things.
BUT, I'm sure like anything else, differences exist across the pond in what sort of impolite things kids are apt to pick on as they do in any other aspect of life as well.
Yet my 4 year old definitely didn't know the gesture Louis made to Kate.
Which one? There was quite a few
Sorry! I deleted because (as always) I answered before going through the entire thread and found others had already mentioned the same basic thing that I said.
But the hand over the mouth and the thumbing of the nose are things I just didn't see in my own kids, nor in any kids we spend a lot of time with. Now, a kid mouthing off and saying "Shut up!" or something rude like that? Yep, definitely seen/heard that.
Where exactly was the person literally advocating for child abuse? The tweet that was posted above where it asked why he wasn't taken out for a bit? Often parents take kids out of a situation if they are misbehaving. If a child is throwing a fit in a store isn't it typical to leave the store with the kid? Doesn't mean they are going to the car to whale on the kid. I don't think Louis was acting out enough to warrant being pulled from the situation, but I don't see suggesting that as advocating for abuse either. Not sure who that tweet is from (meaning I don't know his connection to the Royal Family) but he seems every bit as unhinged as he is accusing H and M as being.
I thought Kate handled the situation well and I don't see anything outlandish by the way Louis behaved.
I am not sure exactly how anyone could have extracted their kids from this event, just get up and leave the royal box? Believe me, I am sure she was doing her best trapped in that seat!
I whole heartedly agree about how it would have been tricky to leave. I had a toddler act up during an event once, and I was mortified and tried to take him out. What a huge mistake that was! Turns out no one else was noticing his behavior while it was happening, but I promise you he made damn sure that every single person in attendance knew that he was being removed. It was awful and I felt terrible for making such a poor parenting choice in that moment.
The whole rest of the weekend all I heard were people asking me what in the world happened that I felt I needed to take him out. And how no one could see or hear him from where they were. And even the people at out own table didn't think he was too bothersome. ugh. I screwed up.. I get it. I'm sorry!! I apologized 500 times that day, I swear.

The thumbing of the nose is pretty innocuously childish I would say. I thinking putting his hand over her mouth was just a 4 year old being very literal - “Don’t say it! I don’t want to hear you!”

In the UK the thumbing of the nose is often a joking thing that adults do to children, I know it’s happened in my family. A child saying “Shut up” would be considered much more rude in my mind.
