Trying to have a dialogue with anyone who votes Republican or supports their policies at this time is equivalent to negotiating with terrorists. I mean... that's pretty much where I'm at. Miss me with your "fiscally responsible" excuses at this point. This is a crisis of conscience, so if you're not getting in formation to protect human rights at this point (which you SHOULD have been doing in 2016 or we wouldn't be in this mess right now), then you are on the wrong side of history. Period.

I followed Lake Superior after that dialogue!
I absolutely believe she said what was on her mind. She probably didn't mean to say it out loud, but it is what she thinks.

A person who has said Hitler was right and said “white” lives ~ people, use your critical thinking skills. She obviously misspoke.
A person who has a medically diagnosed disability of stuttering ~ stuttering isn’t an excuse to misspeak.
🙄 It’s right when it’s right to ME! Everyone else is wrong. 🙄

pixiechickI wish I could defend you (as a person) and I honestly feel you've made a real effort with these Peas... Obviously I don't agree on all things, but it makes me angry to see ever possible thing you say twisted. I wouldn't have given this online fight .02 of the effort you have. Instead, I'm spending that effort with the actual humans I know, who are literally not on board with the actions of the last few weeks (you would think they had no clue-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------not true! Regardless, this is a historic vote and needs all hands on deck. I WELCOME YOU to come. Vote, I am (a 2nd Amendment advocate.) These women here can continue to tear our framework and lives and allow the place to be burnt to the ground, or conversations can be had and choices made. I think it's silly that the pontificating PEAS think they are changing hearts and minds. Instead, they could be having actual conversations and real progress could be made. We could be women! Half of the voting block! Instead, they'd rather be superior. Now is not the time. We all have this in common. Few Republican women are the far Evangelical Right. Most of us are pissed off to do "all the right things" and be marginalized. Interesting you’d say “and choices made” when we can’t make a very important choice anymore. I tried having actual conversations, I tried pointing out how dangerous electing trump would be. And what happened with all those actual conversations? McConnell continued to be a hypocrite and over turn precedents, the first Supreme Court justice to ever have to write a correction to his opinion got elevated to the court despite his complete lack of qualifications, then ACB was rammed through and now I have a 17y old daughter terrified for her future. Not enough people did “all the right things” and not enough people are doing the right things now. The republicans have been saying the quiet part out loud for awhile now and people keep making excuses and keep voting for them while they chip away at voting rights and health care and the very fabric of democracy and it’s okay to spew all the vile hateful rhetoric, to crow about a victory for white life, but the left is so mean.

So no, we aren’t all on the same side, and I’m kind of all out of patience for anyone who contributed to getting us here, but doesn’t want to hear about it now from the rest of us.

Frankly, if you voted for and have supported the Republican Party your part of the problem. Your the reason women no longer have the right to choose, your the reason voting and civil rights are being dismantled, your the reason we’re well in our way to a fascist Christian nationalist nation. I’m done with those responsible denying their roles in what is currently occurring. I don’t care if you find it offensive. I find your whining and crying reprehensible. Own what you’ve contributed to and if your actually willing to make some changes show me, then maybe we can talk. But when you continue to support the same policies and people than have gotten us here — and defend white nationalism and supremacy— I’m done.

I want to get the conversations straight, given that I have some people on block, so only have read what has been quoted.
So, defending someone who publicly declares that Hitler was right and claims the overturning of Roe v Wade as a victory for “white” life - in other words, someone who wants me and my children gassed/murdered for being impure - is okay and should make me want to have conversations and dialogue with women who defend taking that stance?
All the while, telling someone to go to hell/jump in a lake of fire is abhorrent and indicative of women tearing down the framework of our country (or whatever tearing down the framework means - it seemed like a lot of babble with a number of missing words that would be critical to having the sentences make sense)?
Do I have this correct?
Pro-Hitler politician who wants to kill me and mine is defensible, while liberals who are fed up are the cause of broken dialogue in this country?
What a bizarre world we live in. I still cannot believe people - on this board even - say some things out loud and still sleep at night.

To be perfectly fair: she didn’t claim Hitler was right about the Holocaust. She said he was right about one thing. It was something like you have to indoctrinate people when they’re kids to really control their minds. Does not change the fact that anyone who would say in public “Hitler was right” about anything, anything, including not mistreating animals, is telegraphing a very specific message. Following up with overthrowing Roe is “saving white lives” and them claiming she misspoke … yeah, that’s a big no.

And the immediate argument was "but BIDEN SAID," which tells me that is an unserious person uninterested in having a conversation about what it means to have a Congressperson who quotes Hitler and is delighted that women have lost a fundamental right guaranteed to them for the last nearly 50 years. Like, if you're not having THAT conversation, what are you even doing!?

I live in the Illinois 15th district where Mary Miller is running to be the Republican nominee this fall. Today I actually "voted Republican" for the first time in my life. I requested a Republican primary ballot just so that I could vote *against* Mrs. Miller in the primary election. I know DH did the same, along with several others. Hopefully it will be enough to consign Ms. Miller to the trash heap.

Hey, at this point, anyone who still identifies as a republican, is complicit. This is you, your husband, your family, your friends. At the very least, anyone with a fucking brain would identify and register as an independent. I don't give a flying fuck about what that means in terms of voting, blah blah blah. If you identify as a republican, this is you. No excuse would ever get me to identify or associate in any way shape or form as a republican.

What's her reason other then following her great leader to the 1776 Revolutionary Airport!! There it is... I have no current quote where you and yours claim Biden has dementia, but it has been frequent... Surely not a lie by me..

Like everyone is saying, if you think that the SC has a majority of Federalist lickspittles and is planning to take away more rights(they definitely are), then it is important to vote Dem down ballot for both state and federal posts. We democrats have our problems, but we do want to save this country and preserve the rights of our citizens. As much as I hate inflation, I dislike states planning to deploy something creepily similar to the Fugitive Slave Act to track down their citizens who have had the temerity to travel to a blue state for an abortion even more. And that is just the beginning of what they will do. The far right is running the Republican Party, and we have to try to stop them, because they are completely batshit.

Way to deflect from your defense of a white supremacist. Or your defense of a president who we discovered today throws temper tantrums and throws dishes like a toddler tried to take control of the steering wheel from a secret service agent knew that protestors at the rally on Jan 6 were armed but wanted them allowed in because he was worried about how the crowd size would appear didn't want to do anything to stop the insurrection his allies might have tried to tamper with witnesses his allies asked for pardons for their role in trying to overturn the election and we know that he refused to denounce white supremacists he told them to stand back and stand by which they interpreted as a rallying cry No reports yet on her primary www.washingtonpost.com/elections/election-results/illinois/2022-primaries/#house
