Hello team! I too am excited for the newness of a fresh quarter!
QOTW - I have zero plans this long weekend. Today will be regular chores and such. It was supposed to be a DGS weekend but he's off doing things with his mom to celebrate the 4th. So I now have lots of extra free time. I will definitely be scrapping to start the Q off right! July 4th is not a holiday I do much on now that the kids are all adults so it will be nice and low key here.
Wow I'm jealous of those of you who have so few moves! I have been moving my whole life. Lots of moves when I was a kid. The longest I was in one school system was 7 years. Even then we moved house at least twice. Married someone that can't settle down either so the moving continued. Across state lines, across the country, all over the place lol. The longest I've been at one address is 7 years, and I'm about to hit that mark again at my current address. I hate moving so much and have only moved twice since divorcing - one to get here to KC be be near the kids and grand. I hope to die at this address lol!
I'm not good at creating usernames so I chose mine because DGS was 2 when I joined the board and I do find joy in being a nana. Not that my disposition is joyful! LOL! I've been tempted to change it a few times, but I'm just going to stay joyfulnana.

tc - have fun visiting with family! Making memories is the best scrappinwithoutpeas - congratulations on the new grand-baby and enjoy all those cuddles and snuggles. Safe travels! angel97701 - prayers for your DH and for all of you. I know quite a few vaccinated people who haven't quarantined from sick family members and haven't gotten sick themselves so hopefully you and your DS will be ok. Good job cleaning up the scrap desk

Linda enjoy your whole week! If I manage my time right this weekend I could get lots of scrapping time in. Will it mean a finished page or project is the real question lol. I'm expert at pushing things around and changing my mind a dozen times. Although I'm getting better at following Shimelle's mantra of using the first thing I find that works lol.

She wears it on abdomen infusion days (every other week).

joyfulnana - yeah, I've done my share of moving papers around today ...hopefully I can get more done pantsonfire - perhaps putting it in spoilers so those who are bothered by medical stuff (or for whom it brings back hard memories) can skip it but those like myself who don't mind, can see?

Thank you each Paper Posse that posted. It is great to catch up! After a few years of not being very busy, we actually hit a busy streak! I fully meant to do projects in Q2 and keep close track, but that didn't happen. But the upside is now I have lots of photos of things to document. My pea name is based on my late teen/early 20's nickname (JJ) and jjpea was taken so it became jjpeapea. Not counting college dorms or summer temporary quarters, I've lived in five places - childhood, first job, first job different room mate, move to Colorado, move back to Pennsylvania. I'm cardmaking today - doing the July SLOC. I just ordered a big order of Stampin' Up Christmassy things, so some Christmas in July sounds great when they come in.

QOTD: 99% phone. Easier for me as I can be near ds and can pea while at his therapies. I can also pea while dd gets her infusion or just needs me to keep an eye 9nbher due to xyz condition flair up.
Only time I pea from my PC is when I am in my craft space.

QOTD - how do you pea? desktop, laptop, tablet, phone...some combination? 95% desktop, 5% iPad I find the desktop keyboard much easier to type on (former legal secretary/exec. admin asst) because I still type 90+ words a minute.

95% computer and 5% phone for me. I prefer the layout on the website vs the app, and hopefully less typos too lol.

Happy 4th of July to those celebrating.
QOTD - what is your favourite holiday to scrap or make cards for? Is it your favourite to celebrate as well?
I love red/white/blue so I like scrapping the patriotic holidays but Christmas is probably my favourite to celebrate

95% desktop, 5% iPad I find the desktop keyboard much easier to type on (former legal secretary/exec. admin asst) because I still type 90+ words a minute. At work, our health care records are all computerized so all my notes are typed. I have people poke their head into my office to find out why I'm "bashing" on my keyboard only to realize that my finger simply fly that fast. They think I'm "joke typing" but I'm actually typing. It's the piano - learning to type when I was in school (hello Gen-X much?) was a BREEZE. Cards: Christmas, followed by "YOU" cards (You are amazing; you deserve to be celebrated; you are in my thoughts).

I'm not as fast a typist as the rest of you - never had a typing job - but I am a touch typist and much faster on a keyboard than a phone.

I'm still alive. I did not do as much crafting as I expected this long weekend because we did some errands and more relaxing than expected. There was one point on Saturday where my DH, and I, AND the dog were taking a nap at the same time! But I had stayed up super late the night before and got up early to take doggie to the park. I did make 4 cards though. I will post those soon.

WELL, I did not miss the bullet, yikes. I am super glad I got as much done yesterday, including starting the beef short ribs in the Traeger to smoke. This morning dumped them in the crock pot and by 5 we had amazing ribs! I sent all three salads, mashed potatoes, corn and ribs to the ILs. They were very thankful. I made cucumber/onion salad, broccoli cold salad, and pistachio/pineapple salad. The last is really a dessert. DH made his homemade bread so we had a feast for Fourth of July! Yum.
Oh, and I've started my covid omnicorn symptoms. Feels like really bad allergies in the ears/throat, and major body aches. I took a 2.5 hour nap this afternoon, which helped. So we are on a longer hold for departure to the cabin in MN. I couldn't image driving while I feel this achy!
QOTD: 95% desktop 5% phone QOTD: Definitely Christmas! I enjoy making Christmas cards, and have not started on my supply yet. I like using non-traditional colors for my cards. Many years ago before I married I would make all of them one design, usually with an Angel stamp
Well, back to working on a DT project. Already a few hours in and still not satisfied. Covid brain anyone?
And yes, I did get to the bottom of my scrap desk and put away all the misc stuff in homes where they belong. Yeah!

oh no - I'm sorry angel97701 - I hope it's a mild case and you're feeling better soon. Sounds like yummy food though. Is your pistachio/pineapple salad what they call watergate salad? I hadn't had it until one of my SILs died on Thanksgiving 2015 and we hosted the family 'celebration of life' and her (grown) kids asked if I could make it as it was something she always liked - I googled and crossed my fingers and they loved it (and we did also) so I usually make once a year now.

{{ angel97701}} The body aches were definitely and fatigue were definitely our most prominent symptom although the lungs/cough took a small hit too. Hoping you feel better quickly! I remember thinking that it wasn't the "free pass" I was expecting, made me wonder if those coworkers of mine who tested positive but had ZERO symptoms actually had had a false positive test. I also imagined how bad it could be if we weren't vaxed, especially the cough.

kitbop - I learned to type on an old fashioned manual typewriter where the keys fly up to strike the ribbon. If you went too fast they would jam up! We had typing class in junior high, boys and girls. Imagine my delight when the IBM Selectric came into being. FurryP - relaxing sounds awesome. Isn't that half the point of holidays, to take a break? Looking forward to seeing your cards. angel97701 Your description of your ribs made me so hungry for ribs. Yum. Sorry you are sick. You're brave to keep powering on, please be kind to your self and nap when possible. Not sure what is up today - I already had to go to the doctor office and be the squeaky wheel over the form for my daughter's insurance that I took in ten days ago. I know some people kind of enjoy that role but I detest it.

jjpeapea - that's how I learnt also - I took typing in Night School while I in high school - it wasn't an option for my regular schedule which included computer programming (on punch cards no less). I was the only teen in a class of adults but I learnt. Sorry about the doctor's office. I hate being that person also - even when it's completely justified. QOTD (and I'm now wondering if I can keep that up all quarter?) - do you handwrite on your layouts? Do you like your handwriting? I do occasionally handwrite because I think it is more personal than computer journalling but I don't like my handwriting and for longer journalling, I much prefer typing it up. I never really learnt to write in cursive - in England it was taught later than it was in the states and when I moved we were just starting to join up letters but in the US, lessons were done and the expectation was we could read and write in cursive. I got in trouble my first day of school because the social studies teacher wrote all her instructions on the board in cursive and I couldn't read it - she didn't believe me and thought I was being naughty so off to the principal I was sent. It was quite the introduction to American schools - especially since I was expecting to be caned (that having been my experience with being sent to the headmaster in the past) - being kept after school to write lines was a relief.

Ok here goes: ETA: Oops. I meant to post these on the sharing thread. I will have to post again. Sorry. These are from a Simple Stories card making kit I got at TM. These were so fun to make. The hardest part was matching up each embellishment to each card design because there are 8 cards total. I only made 3. I will definitely pick up another one of these kits if I like the design. The dotted white paper is just for picture taking. And this one started out completely different, but I like the final product much better. I will have to figure out the points later.
